"Hi there Rex, yes I am a first year... It's probably obvious isn't it. I am a pretty nervous." Nika was happy to talk to him because it seemed like he had a lot to talk about. "Wow, your going to be graduating! How do you like it here at Hogwarts? And I am sure that you have a lot of friends because you seem like a really nice guy! Maybe your friends haven't seen you yet." Nika was very sincere when telling him that he was a nice guy. Nika wasn't too sure what Gryffindor house would be like, but all the people she has met so far have been very nice to her!

"A good story. Hmmm well. I don't really live in the wizard world and I was a bit confused when I got my letter. Let alone how I got my letter. I have never seen an owl up close before! The owl came during the day and I thought that owls are nocturnal so it was rather odd." She took a deep breath but then promptly continued, "My mom thought it might have rabies or something, but I don't think that owls can get rabies... or can they? So anyways my parents were unsure about it all and they were a little reluctant to let me go to Diagon Alley to get my supplies. I mean at the time it all sounded a bit surreal, but I'm here now! and I guess that wasn't a very good story, sorry about that."

"So what do you like most about Hogwarts?"

"i trust you Adam" she said, she sounded like a stalker but maybe she could make friends with him, even though Katie was her best friend, "we met at the fountain one day" and that day was the start of a friendship.. "she told me what happened between you two and also said you were a big meanie and a lier, i told her that maybe he wasn't as mean as she thinks, maybe he is nice and sweet, but then we had an awkward silence, we were talking about you because i asked her to tell me what happened last year" she said.

Nika smiled back, she sure felt good knowing that she had made a friend. "Well my great great great grandparents (or something like that) are from Persia. And so it's a persian name. I really like your name it has a cool sort of feel to it Elyon kinda just rolls of your tongue." Nika started singing the name in her head over and over hehe Elyon Elyon Elyon..... "So what are you most looking forward to here?"

Seeing her Prefect wave (somewhat frantically), Kimber turned to face her, raising an eyebrow. "Evening, Sophie," she called back. Kids should know by now, if they wanted to speak to her, waving her over never worked. Their legs weren't broken.
And THAT was how it was done. So much easier to converse with someone when they were right in front of you. "Hello, Miss Denver. It was actually," she answered. "Thank you."
"Good Evening, Simon," she said, feeling slightly uneasy from all the greetings. Usually kids avoided her at all costs. "I hope you're ready for Quidditch tryouts," she said flatly. Sure it sounded nice. Unless you knew her.
"They'd better be," she answered softly. It wasn't a joke; she was being totally serious. She glanced at Chad then back towards the Staff table and smiled. "Are you following me?" she whispered.

"Oh so she told you the first day we met and a little about Hogwarts in her first year."He said.
Way to divulge her whole love life to all her friends, Adam had only kept it to Kurumi and Fee mostly- as they were girls and probably knew best what to do to help him.
"It went like this, we dated, and then I realized I liked my best friend, she found out and we kinda got mad at each other. Then she got mad that I had told Fee, not the same best friend mentioned from earlier, that Katie had been flirting with her boyfriend. We broke up because by that point I had told my best friend I liked her. Then Katie began bugging my girlfriend and that's what really annoyed me...Then that's when SHE said I was a liar- I only explained my reasons for not liking Katie- how is that being a liar?!"He asked completely astounded.
HAD he really just done that?! Told a first year he barely knew, maybe a spy for Katie, his love life with Katie from last year, now he was going insane.

Selina saw the Head of her house conversing with the other students. For a librarian she was very attractive. Of course Selina attributed that to the fact that she was the Head of Gryffindor where the brave of heart (and good-looking) dwell. Being a first year she was unsure if she was allowed to introduce herself to such a high ranking official in her house. But perhaps it was her Gryffindor courage or her first year ignorance that had her feet travel to the woman talking to the prefect.

When she was done Selina politely said, "Hello, ma'am. My name is Selina Skylar and I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself Ms. Donovan. And may I say, it is a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."

The small redhead looked the woman directly in the eyes as she spoke. First impressions were important and it was pertinent that the Head of the House had a good first impression. Selina did have aspirations to make her house proud.

"Yep! Durmstrang has nothing on Hogwarts!" Rafe laughed. He definitely did not want to go back to that place. Hogwarts was a lot more cheery and didn't feel like you were in a dungeon 24/7. "I'm definitely looking forward to Quidditch! I wonder who the new captain is! They certainly have a lot to live up to. Jack and Brant were pretty fantastic." Rafe heard rumors that they didn't even have Quidditch last year because they had a tournament thingie. That's probably the only thing he could be happy about attending Durmstrang because they kept Quidditch going. "I think I'll be going for Keeper again. How 'bout yourself?"

"You look calm" Rex told Nika." I love it at HogWarts" Rex said to Nika." You are right,my friends have not seen me" Rex agreed with Nika." I want to hang with you, that is a great story" Rex explained to Nika." "Do you want me to tell you a story?' Rex asked Nika.

Rex saw his head of household. " Glsd to meet you Miss Denver" Rex held out his hand for a handshake. " I am going to do my best for us to win the House Cup" Rex told Miss Denver. " in case you did not know, my name is Rex Trigwell and I was the top boy student last term" Rex explained to her.

Her head was still kind of craned backward so she smiled at the Librarian and nodded her head. "I am very glad it was, ma'am." Not entirely a lie. She might not have had a great start with the woman, but she respected her elders. Hehe. Perhaps she wouldn't give Lex a hard time as she had Dylan. Lexi was, after all, nothing like her idiot brother. Especially since they weren't even blood related.

Lexi smiled as Rafe pepped up, noticeably. Quidditch made EVERYONE happy. Her thought was that, anyway. "I think I may have to forego playing this term with the exams and all that. I really need to focus on my studies and all," she said with a small frown. If the 5th and 7th years were smart they all would. ALL OF THEM. "Simon is our new captain. I am not sure how he plays, to be honest... We didn't have quidditch last term due to the tournament so I have not seen him play that I can remember," she said softly. The guy didn't lack school spirit, that was for sure. "He's good people though, you will like him. He is a true Gryffindor, that is for sure," she said with a nod.

Nika smiled, he wants to gang out with her! He is a seventh year and she has only just started her first year, "Yeah I would like to hang out with you too, you are very interesting!" She was happy that her story didn't bore him to tears. "Okay go ahead and tell me a story." Nika replied she loved listening to stories! She could only imagine what his was going to be about.

"Awww...studies schmudies! Quidditch is way more fun!" Rafe chuckled. Though it was their fifth year and everyone says they dread this year because all the professors drill you to prepare you for exams. Eh...Rafe just wanted to play Quidditch the rest of his life, but he knew it wasn't for everyone. "Simon? What kind of name is that? It sounds like fish." Which from a half-werewolf's opinion was one of the worst meats ever. Well, if Lexi says he's a good guy, he'd just have to take her word for it. "Yeah, I think I heard that there wasn't Quidditch last year, I guess that was one of the benefits of not being here last year. I can't imagine going a year without Quidditch. I'm curious how we'll do this year. There's quite a few new faces this year." Rafe took a quick glance at all of the tables. "So what's new with you?"

Elyon smiled, her blue eyes twinkling. It was official. They were officially friends. One of her only really good friends, actually. "Thank you so much Selina. I'm glad I'm friends with someone as sweet, and funny, and talented as you." She grinned at her friend.

"That's cool, Nika. And thanks, I never really noticed that! I guess it does!" Elyon. It did roll off her tongue! Nika was really fun to say too. Nika, Nika, Nika. Teehee! "Just about everything!" She couldn't even come close to explaining how much she was looking forward to it!

Was he following her? "Non," he responded, smiling back. "Merely coming to reminisce. I have not seen the Gryffindor table since I graduated...a long time ago." No sense in naming years.

Cora was surprised, they seemed both different, she didn't know who to believe now, Katie was her best friend but then Adam seemed very nice, she smiled and patted him on the head, "i'm sorry to hear that, i wish you and Katie get along in the future" she said. she had chose who to believe.

"I'm looking forward to just about everything as well! Except for the homework, that I'm not looking forward too." Although Nika had always enjoyed school homework was something else!

"This castle is really big!" Nika looked around, even the Great Hall alone was HUGE! It must have been five times the size of her old school's lunch room. "I hope I can get to my classes without getting lost because who knows where I'd end up. I am really bad at finding my way around." Nika started to blush a little, not only was she clumsy but she had a hard time getting around to places.

Somehow he should have expected that question or something like it and to Simon there could be many ways to answer it seeing as he was having mixed feelings at the moment. Enthusiastic or truthful...something told him the librarian would be more satisfied with the low key answer from what he knew of her through visits to the library. "For the most part...yes," he answered.

Lexi laughed heartily as Rafe shunned studies, basically. Hehe. "I agree, quidditch is more fun, but I want to be a Ministry employee when I graduate, so I need good exam scores," she said a bit MEHly. Picking up her fork she speared a piece of potato and shoved it into her mouth. Her little cheeks bulged somewhat and she began to cough, bits of food flying from her mouth, as Rafe said Simon sounded like a fish. Grabbing her goblet and washing the food down she coughed a little louder and then began to laugh.

"Really, Rafe?! A fish? That is rich. Thanks for nearly killing me," she said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. Death by boiled potato... not cool. "But, yeah... I hope we do well. I daresay since our last cup win we have been less than stellar," she couldn't help but smile as she spoke. Their practices had been fun even if their games were terrible.

New with her... Shrugging her shoulders slightly she tucked her short hair behind her ears. "Not much, really. I have vowed to make this term as stress free, drama free, and all those other terrible things... FREE as I can. OWLs are going to be bad enough, I don't need that other stuff too," she said with a firm nod. No drama.

He was so HAWT. Gah. Was it the French accent? She didn't know, but she was going to be sure to go hang around THIS guys hut. For sure. Giggling softly she nodded her head at the awkward angle she was at and said, "Well let me be the first Gryffindor to welcome you to Hogwarts, sir. I hope you enjoy it this term. Wait... did I hear you say you were a Gryffindor? Awesome." Hehehehehe. Helllllloooo hot former Gryffindor, French, wiggly guy.

Rafe laughed as Lexi did. He didn't even mind that he was partly covered with food, he simply just took out his wand, "Episkey!" he said as he pointed to himself and the food disappeared. Rafe took a goblet from the table as well and took a swig. It felt so good to laugh. It felt like a year since he really enjoyed to laugh too. Rafe took a handkerchief from his pocket with his initials and a running wolf embroidered in the corner and held it out for her to grab.

"Well as much as I love to win, just playing and that thrill you get when you're flying through the air on the broomstick is almost good enough for me," Rafe smiled. He could talk about Quidditch forever and a day. "Drama just makes you stonger," he said as if the wolf stretched on his face. "Believe me I know." He was practically scarred from head to toe. He had a few fresh pink ones on his neck that still shone. "I can't believe it's OWL year! Time really does seem to fly!"

And she was still talking and SMILING at her. *sigh* Being Head of House certainly came with a few downsides. The "niceness" was right on the top of that list. "I hope your summer was... enjoyable?" she said. 'That was NICE, right? Even if her smile looked somewhat forced.
Gryffindor, huh? Guess they'd never really talked about that. But sure thing... she could see that. "Looks exactly the same, doesn't it?" Kimber said in a nostalgic tone.

She lifted an eyebrow at his response. "Sure I was," she said. It made perfect sense. "Do you object?" she asked, trying not to smile.
Good enough for her. "I'm sure you'll make us all proud, Simon." she said sincerely. "If you need anything..." She didn't bother to finish. He knew where to find her.

"Well I'm not so sure about the talented part but thank you. I'm really looking forward to the next seven years together. It's going to be crazy...a good crazy."

" Well, I may be interesting" Rex laughed. "Well, I transferred from SweetWater, Texas. played football and Quidditch, then my mothe got an owl, shich is surprising is because I am all muggle- born" Rex started his story, " I was picked for HogWarts because of my straight A's in school and thought I would make a great wizard" Rex told Nika. " So here I am graduating and doing whar I never beleive, well maybe I did. believe in doing becoming a wizard" Rex explained to Nika. " you know we have prefets, head of household and you can try out for Quidditch" Rex explained to Nika.

Lexi smiled sweetly at her new fave Huffie. He was TOO flippin' precious. "I do have pets. I have a spectacled owl named Wasabi and a pygmy puff named Juniper," she said with a giggle. Juniper hated Ivan... it made Lexi laugh. She liked to bite and poop on everyone... the pygmy puff...not Lexi. That would be socially unacceptable in most cultures. Looking around the table in front of her she spotted the macaroni and passed it to the boy. "Ringo is your pet? What is he?" she asked. She wasn't sure he had said yet.

"That would be awesome! Two little guys hanging out when they get here... It would be nice to have someone that you know here with you at first." She hadn't known a soul here.


GAH!! She had spit all over him. How GROSS! Lexi did take the handkerchief and dab at her eyes with it, careful not to get any makeup on it. Looking at it more closely she smiled. "This is beautiful, Rafe." She liked the wolf.

"I quite agree. Sometimes just flying is enough for me, though. Being up there everything feels right," she said with a dreamlike quality to her voice. "Ha. I have had enough of the drama, though. I want, just one year, to be nice and quiet around here. Looks like that won't happen seeing as the Ministry is interfering at the school," she said with a sliht grimace.

"I KNOW! Doesn't it seem like yesterday that we were all firsties coming in here off of the boats and getting sorted?" she asked with a giggle. It really did seem like yesterday... and then sometimes it felt like an eternity. All of that innocence was gone from most of them.

Lexi simply gave a shrug at the librarian's next question. She wouldn't describe MOST of her summer as enjoyable. She got the impression that the woman would much rather not deal with the children anyway. Not while hot Frenchman was around anyway. So... on that note she would simply stop trying and leave the woman alone. Sighs.

Chad grinned and nodded his head. "Thank you very much for the welcome, Mademoiselle...?" She hadn't introduced herself yet, had she?

"Headmaster Tate did not really introduce the new people by name. So, I will introduce my self. I am Chad Stryker. Groundskeeper." Said that. "Feel free to visit me whenever," looking at all the students at the Gryffindor table.

"Do I object to what?" He looked up from the table towards her. The wood had temporarily short circuited his memory.

"Thanks, it was my father's," Rafe said looking at the handkerchief. It actually had seen quite a lot. Rafe remembered the first time he got it. He'd just taken down three of his "wolf brothers" before being drop-kicked by a fourth and his father give him the handkerchief to clean up the blood. The stains were easily magically removed, but he kept it as a reminder to expect the unexpected.

"Wouldn't it be cool if we could teach the firsties," Rafe suggested. "Like give 'em a one on one experience. Like be big brothers and sisters." Rafe kind of winced at that last comment. He actually forgot of his new found little brother himself. Ugh, Derian was just a thorn in his side. That would be one firstie he'd be unwilling to teach.

"The ministry is interfering with the school?" Rafe questioned. What was that about? Now, to think of it there were a few more faces up at the staff table than usual. Rafe just figured they were professors for new subjects perhaps. "There certainly are quite a few new faces," Rafe said as he nodded to the staff table. "Who's the geek in the glasses?" Rafe said referring to the Herbology professor.

Rafe thought back on when he first entered the Great Hall. It truly felt magical. "Were we ever really that small?"
