Gryffindor Common Room

The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through.

"Flibbertigibbet!"

Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes!

That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.

For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home! There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby!

His reaction to her start of term was to be expected. Although she had left out some key points about Ivan and Salander. Meh. No need to rehash any of THAT mess. OOOOOH! He flinched. Oh my, my, my. Giving a nod she looked at him with great ~~mock~~ concern and said, "Oh dear! A bruise on your ribs... how terrible!" Then without warning she pounced and began to tickle him mercilessly. Giggles and snorts both escaped her as she assaulted him.

Riley blushed slightly as Lexi began to beat back his attempts of flaunting his ignorance in most school subjects. And she did have a point, like most students in his year he had conqured the O.W.L.'s. "Ok I guess you have a point just don't even think about asking me to help you with Potions. I can't stand those disgusting ingrediants and I only go to those classes for the points." he shivered thinking of the dank and smelly dungeons and almost wretched at the thought of all those sents sticking into his wardrobe due to the countless hours down there.

Nodding seemed like the right thing to do about now. He knew if he had had those things happen to him so early to the beginning of term, no what was he saying, EVER, he would not be as calm as Lexi was right now. But he guessed Lexi had been through a lot so she could handle herself nowadays. In all this thought about antlers and avis birds attacking little ole Lexi in Riley's mind, he almost missed the mention of her leaving Hogwarts next term. "You're what?!" he couldn't believe it, what was he going to do without her? She helped him get through the day and was his ears when he wanted to vent about idiotic people or animals. (Yes animals. He had some complaints...) "Well...you know I will miss you like a goblin misses his handcrafted masterpieces." That was a bit harsh, oh well. Lexi wasn't a Goblin so maybe she wouldn't take offense to that.

"I am no fan of Potions either... unfortunately I need an OWL and a NEWT in the subject to go into Law Enforcement. Which totally throws me off," she said with a little snort. Lafay... Potions... she was pretty sure it was Hell on Earth.

Quirking an eyebrow she giggled at him slightly. "Well, Riley Sinclair... did you just call me a masterpiece? You know... flattery will get you everywhere! " she said a bit cheekily as she placed her hand over her heart. Giggling uncontrollably she leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I'll miss you too, Riley. I will be around London all summer, though. Like I said I may just get a tutor and stay in London. I need to talk to my brother about how he will feel about my crashing at his flat and all," she said as she threw herself back on the sofa, head hanging over the arm. "This place is boring me to TEARS lately. I swear... I think no one here remembers what FUN is," she groaned.

Bringing the news to all his friends, just had made him slightly depressed lately. He always put on a act, in front of them all, pretending to be happy.

As soon as she heard the news,it made her feel sad,unhappy. She put her arm around his shoulder and quitely said. ''Oh I am so sorry! But why? Are you moving?''she asked him slowly. Prefect emergencies?

Sophie had to think for a moment before telling Patrcolus about her two incidents which couldn’t be called emergencies. "At the feast I had to comfort a snake first year girl who was really sad for not being sorted into Gryffindor. And a few weeks ago I steered a second year girl who had a though family situation to deal with in the right direction. But otherwise no emergencies that has called for immediate action. How about you?"

Patroclus grinned, someing who hadn’t heard the stories of Truebridge, “He used to be the Defense Agaisnt the Dark Arts Teacher,” he told his co-prefect, “But I am not sure whether or not he was around before I started.” Patroclus had after all missed most of his First and Second years at Hogwarts, so his knowledge on all professors was a bit patchy. “I am sure he will love the name,” he laughed, “I don’t think there has been such an awesome name for a rune since they were first invented.” Taking out his wand, Patroclus laughed before he pretended to carve a rune, “Intaglio Sneezing Sneezing Sneezing……”

The teenager grinned, his father’s work was always a subject of pride, “It can be dangerous yes, but it’s also loads of fun” he casted his mind back for a moment before he said, “Oh the places I have been!” Listening to Sophie, Patroclus grinned, “I am sure the planning of the Qudditch Cup can be fraught with danger, imagine if some crazy fans weren’t happy?” he joked, it may not have been dangerous, but her Father’s work was very important, to lots of people all over the world.

“Wow.” Patroclus said wide eyed, thinking of the girl who wanted to be a Lion, “That would be a hard snitch to swallow.” Luckily Patroclus had always known he was destined to be a lion. “No, nothing really that involved too much Prefecting….there was an incident in the Kitchens but they sorted it out themselves.” In a matter of speaking…..

“Well I am going to go up and get changed, and probably go for a run around the lake,” He said as he stood and stretched. “We will have to discuss some more plans for the Lions lately!” Patroclus nodded, thinking about the Scavenger Hunt Idea, “Have a nice afternoon Sophie!”

Rex sees Elyon talking to aqnother boy. Hopefully that is her brother. "Is that Chris?" Rex asked Elyon.

She didn't care that everyone in the common room was staring at her. Her dad was dying and her mum was going to send her off to an orphanage. She wished Selina or Adam were here too. They were her only friends, and she could use all the love and support she could get. Kurumi was right at the start of the year feast, if she didn't talk about her feelings, she'd burst. But she'd already exploded, it was too late to stop it now.

Christopher shook his head. Elyon's words stabbed him like knives, right through the heart. He felt absolutely horrible for not telling her, but what choice did he have? Merlin, he felt like a jerk. "Oh El..... I'm so sorry......... You're absolutely right.. I'm sorry....." He patted her head and hugged her tightly as she cried to him. He didn't know how he'd ever be able to make up for this, for what he'd put her through.

Elyon fell limp in Rex's arm. She glanced longingly up at the girls' dormitory. She wished she could be up there, sleeping, or crying under her blankets. "Okay...." She tried to wipe her tears, but they were still dripping down her face. "Actually, I think I'm going to go to bed. Thank you, Rex."

Bringing the two compasses she had managed to transfigure over at the study tables along with her, Kurumi flopped herself down on one of the red velvet chairs and heaved a heavy sign as she slouched down deep in the chair. Who knew that casting spells could be so tiring. Then again, changing an object into something else was not exactly the same as cutting butter with a hot knife. It was more like trying to cut a rock with a spoon...a really dull spoon.

Holding the two compasses in her right hand and the remaining ice cream sandwich erasers in her left, she looked at them for a long while trying to figure out what to do next. What did her two compasses have in common. Well, they were both gold and...they didn't have a cover! With a new burst of energy, Kurumi sat up in her chair and crossed her legs and set her Transfiguration textbook on her lap to be used as a table. She put the two compasses in her robe's pocket along with the remaining erasers, minus one, and set one eraser on her textbook. Okay, so same type of compass but this time let's add a cover, she said to herself as a sort of pathetic pep-talk.

Once again taking out her wand, Kurumi traced a cross in the air, jabbed the center, and repeated the enchantment. Please no exploding eraser this time...or melting for that matter. The eraser began to glow again, but this time it didn't appear like it was going to melt but it did have the possibility of exploding. It now looked like a piece of bubblegum being blown into with hot air. The bubble was no about the size of a baseball and Kurumi pressed her lips together as she began to squint and cringe in fear that she was going to have to pick up more eraser bits.

Just as it looked like that was the very thing that was going to happen, the bubble deflated as if someone had poke it with a needle. Well, that was a relief! As the bubble deflated, its shape also changed and morphed into a shiny gold cover. When all the glowing had stopped - hey! no loud popping noise this time! - Kurumi looked down to see another compass that had a shiny cover to it! Her brain exhausted and little beads of sweat running down her brow, Kurumi figured it was time for a tea break.

Brodie sat down for the first time in the common room, nice he thought looking around, he had raced past the common room to get to the boys dorm but never had the time to look around, but now he did, so he was going to enjoy this time.

"thanks" he said, Raven eh? sweet, Brodie stretched out his arm and shook Raven's hand, as he let go he said, "hows you?" he always said that to his muggle friends.

"does that mean your muggle born?" he asked, it may have sounded like he was predjuice but he wasn't, because he was a muggle born himself, but just to make sure Raven didn't think he was one he said, "I am muggle born"

Tenn entered the Gryffindor common room and plopped herself into an empty seat by the fire. She barely stays inside this place. Hmmm. She's always busy somewhere. She looked around and saw some young students chatting. Lucky them they've got someone to talk to. She just smiled.

And Her sapphire eyes darted back to her own hand. Her very own left hand. It was swelling now. Wandering down the grounds alone today wasn't actually fun. She was chased by a bee and stung her on her pointing finger. Well, it's hurting now and she's feeling a little bit sick about it...

" I love your eyes, they are so pretty" Rex told the girl. " My name is Rex Trigwell" he introduced himself to her. "What is wrong with yoru hand?" Rex asked her." Looks like a bee sting, hope you are not allergis to them" Rex explained to her.
