Professor Hadley waited for the Ravenclaw and Slytherin players to enter the Gobstones court. As they took their places, she handed them each their appropriate gobstone bags, blue for Ravenclaw, green for Slytherin, each containing the appropriately colored gobstones. She then levitated the gray jackstone into position in the center of the court.
"I presume that before we begin, you have all familiarized yourselves with the rules. There is a zero tolerance for cheating and only one warning will be issued for playing out of turn. Let the match begin." | |

Watching the court with her eager hazel eyes, Professor spotted the first stone - green - rolling out and toward the center. Can Ravenclaw outdo it? Almost on sync, Ravenclaw's Prefect and Captain each rolled a stone just a moment apart from each other. Fortunately it wasn't far enough to cause a penalty.
The Prefect's stone went just a little farther, but not far enough. Slytherin gets the point this time. Quote:

It's a mad rush as students never seen before begin to try their hand at gobstones. The Ravenclaw Prefect, Finlay and Slytherin She-Snake, Evelyn, get their stones into the pit first. As they're rolling, it is almost like they are fighting for that spot ... Each one with a mind of its own.
But finally, at long last, another Snake rolled their stone in ... pushing Evelyn's stone just a tad further. One more good nudge for the snakes and they've sealed their fate in the Championship Match... But it's not over yet, Eagles! Quote:

Definitely not over yet, says Prefect Carmicheal, as his carefully rolled blue stone is positioned just right so it rolls just inside the circle by the Jack Stone.
