| | |  Gobstones: Slytherin vs Hufflepuff CHAMPIONSHIP Match
Practically sprinting out to the room where the Gobstones matches were held, Professor Hadley just prayed to Merlin that the Slytherin and Hufflepuff players hadn't been waiting too long. She had gotten rather caught up in marking assignments and whatnot, completely losing track of time. "Sorry," she murmured apologetically as the Badgers and Snakes took their places around the court.
Handing the players each their appropriate colored gobstone bags, gold for Hufflepuff, green for Slytherin, Professor Hadley then levitated the gray Jackstone into position in the center of the court.
"As you should all be very much aware of the rules by now, we shan't waste much time. Reminder though that there is a zero tolerance for cheating and only one warning will be issued for each team playing out of turn. Let the championship match commence." | |

Well at least the green players were there, but where were those feisty badgers? Professor Hadley looked around the table to check and make sure, spotting at least two male badgers. Okay, they were good, but just staying quiet, it seemed.
Nonetheless, Evelyn took the quietness from her opponents and made a clear shot toward the Jackstone. Good start from the wise and quick she-snake.

Boil Cure Potion; The potion will produce a cloud of acid green smoke and create a loud hissing noise as it melts the cauldron. It will have the opposite effect of curing boils if it touches skin (meaning you WILL get boils) and it will burns holes through people's shoes.

Oh there was one! When all else fails, at least Mia Gibbons was around, but Professor Hadley was sure she'd seen the girl more alert than she was today. Sure her roll wasn't off, but the green stone rolled by she-snake, Evelyn Flores-Shepard was quicker.
And closer to the jackstone. Slytherins might not be on their quidditch game this term, but they certainly knew how to play a match of Gobstones.

Apparently not for long; if those Badgers kept up this rate than the match would be a very short and BORING match. C'mon Hufflepuffs, let's show why you guys are here at the Championships.

Blink, blink. What was that? Professor Hadley hadn't even been sure she'd seen him enter the court area, yet the fourth badger, Treyen Lockhart was here and managed to somehow beat Evelyn to rolling their stone.
The yellow one rolled and rolled ... until it rested to a stop an inch from the center. The green one ... stopped RIGHT outside of the yellow one, on its tail if stones had tails the whole way. SEE! Now if they kept it up, the match could get fierce/interesting.

And it was back to green this time, as Evelyn was NOT going to back off that easily. Rolling her stone with a heavy hand, it continued to roll on the court and stopped only from TOUCHING the jackstone, in which it bounced back an inch.
Treyen - probably overwhelmed with his one score - took his time and as a result, the yellow stone slowed to a stop before reaching the center. Back and forth ... much better than one-house domination. Hehe.

And the youngest she-snake, Sierra Greingoth take her turn...After watching intensely her older housemates, she takes aim with her own green stone, as it slides gently onto the court... rolling to a stop just an inch from the jackstone, right as Treyen's gold stone enters the court...
As the green one stopped closer, they gain the point and the round, causing a new fresh spray of gob over the badger players. Nice one, Sierra!

Treyen decided he didn't like the face full of gob that he received and fought back with a fierce roll to his gold stone. BUT even if he keeps this up, then he still needed some back up from some fellow badgers would be nice if the Hufflepuffs wanted a chance to win.
Needless to say, Slytherins received their own gob to the face which might serve as a minor deterrent... Maybe. But unlikely with the fierce and cunning moves supplied by Evelyn and her duo

Ah back up for Treyen was here it seemed! In the form of Jacob Upstead Morgan-oh-whatever-his-last-name-was .... He did seem slightly calmer and maybe a bit melodramatic though, or was it just Fina's eyes deceiving her?
Either way, he took his roll at the precise moment as Evelyn's best friend and fellow she-snake, Destiny. Both stones were rolling fast on the court, bounced off of the center jackstone and then each other, and finally came to a stop.... With the gold stone just a smidgen closer than the green one to center. Hufflepuff wins the point and their first round of the championship match!
