Divination 2

The grounds after dark can seem like a different place than they appear during the day, but as long as you stay clear of the forest, there shouldn't be much to be afraid of. Especially when there appears to be a large bonfire set in a clear spot near the lake, and Renée had made sure everything was set up. A multitude of logs were arranged near the fire, for the students to sit on if they liked, especially as there was still some snow on the ground. Behind the improvised seating, several smaller unlit fires were arranged for later, but for now the big fire was the focus.

Not to mention the containers of various campfire treats: hot dogs and marshmallows near a collection of sticks, and other s'mores makings a bit further from the flames along with a smaller basket of hazelnuts, not far from the curled up form of her crup puppy on a pile of blankets. She'd tried to leave Bowie behind, but he wanted to be outside with her. As long as he stayed away from the fire, she was okay with it and she knew he'd enjoy being around the students. And for now she stayed near the fire, keeping warm as she waited for people to arrive.

ooc: Feel free to post your charries arriving, etc. Ask about the food if you like, but wait for approval to take any. I'll be around for another couple hours for replies. And as always, try to keep the chatting to a minimum. The lesson should start in around 12 hours or so.

Emily walked across the school grounds, it was dark... and it felt strange being out so late when she would usually be curled up on a seat in front of the fire in the common room reading a book.
"Hello Professor", she greeted as she went to stand by the fire. She had dropped her bag against one of the logs that surrounded the large bonfire.

sweetpinkpixie 02-24-2011 08:27 AM

Kurumi made her way down to the area where Divination was to be held. She always liked it when classes were held outside. The fresh crisp air was always refreshing after having spent most of the morning locked up in the library bent over another book. "Hello, Professor," Kurumi blushed. She hadn't seen Professor Bishop since their conversation in her office and was unsure how to act now that she had put all her fears out on the table for the professor to see. Still, it had been comforting knowing she had someone to talk to. Someone with more experience and knowledge of the way things worked.

She then noticed the marshmallows and immediately thought about Jenny and their failed attempt to make smores last term. "Are we roasting marshmallows?"

Roselyn 02-24-2011 08:44 AM

Meh, she didn't mind lessons during the night, but could the Professors choose days where it was actually warm? Like...during the summer? Pleeeaaasse?

Having been watching where her footing went, it was a rather nice surprise for her to see FIRE!! when she looked up to see if she was headed in the right direction. OMG did NO ONE see that FIRE!? It...it was a bonfire! The people there, they were weird! They were acting all calm. How could one be calm with a sight of beauty flickering right in front of them!?

...Well she could understand Cookie Girl being like that. Cookies gone to her brain and all...

But...FIRE! Oh. And the Professor. "Hello Professor Bishop." she muttered, mind elsewhere and hazel eyes glued to the orange flames. Teehee. Could she touch it?

Mordanyes 02-24-2011 09:13 AM

Night lessons were awesome in her opinion, but when it was this cold she was just plain upset. Usually she would be finishing off homework in the Common Room, the fireplace roaring and keeping her warm.

Seeing a bonfire ahead of her, K-Lee quickened her steps, racing so she could feel the fires heat.

Sitting down, she grinned. "Hello professor." K-Lee said brightly to the teacher, happy to be near the flames warmth.

*giggles at Evelyn's reaction*

Turning from the fire as she heard students start to arrive, Renée gave them a smile as she pulled her leather blazer a bit tighter around her. She had a feeling she was going to be staying as close to the fire as she possibly could without risking lighting herself ablaze, but then, that was why she was holding this lesson now as opposed to closer to the end of term. Everyone would want the fire now. "Hello Emily, Kurumi, Evelyn and K-Lee," she replied, before inclining her head slightly toward the goodies as Kurumi had mentioned them. "Not as a part of the lesson, but what would a bonfire be without roasted marshmallows and everything?" It was a valid question, and the actual divination-related activities weren't going to be using the big fire anyway so right now it was all in fun.

And she sent an amused glance at Evelyn, as she had a feeling the Slytherin would jump into the fire if she was allowed. Safety first, although she understood the hypnotic quality of the flames.

Mell 02-24-2011 09:38 AM

Lessons at night were okay if you could see where you were going. Mia had managed to trip over every stick and rock she could find. But then again she would probably trip over those things anyway. She never did watch where she was going at the best of times.

Following the bright orange glow, Mia stepped into the clearing and immediately spotted the goodies lined up. Mmmm yum. Well except for the hot dogs. Mia wrinkled her nose at those.

"Good evening Professor Bishop." She said brightly as she headed over to sit with Evelyn and she laughed at the look on her friend's face. "Easy there Ev. It's just for decoration."

Mordanyes 02-24-2011 09:42 AM

"It would be a boring bonfire?" K-Lee answered, then blushed. "That was rhetorical, wasn't it professor?"

K-Lee, feeling embarrased, sunk back into the chair she sat, cuddling up into her layers of warm clothing more.

Destiny 02-24-2011 11:50 AM

Destiny was taking her time making it to the place where the lesson would be, fiddling with her gloves and practically pulling her hat over her eyes. It was cold, very cold, but even with that hat covering half her face, the bright glow of fire was not missed.

Fire. Evelyn.

SWEET MERLIN!

A little bit of running happened as her half-covered eyes scanned the area looking for her friend, ready to do tackle her straight to the ground if she was anywhere close to those flames. Really!? The Professor's that decide to use fire in lessons should do a fire test on the students. If they did that, they would know that Evelyn was the BIGGEST flame happy person ever.

With an awkward wave in the Professor's direction, Destiny was GLAD that Evelyn was not..too close to the fire and she took a seat on the other side of her. "I'm watching you, Evelyn." See, she even lifted her hat up so she could watch her.

"And Mia, you should be ready to grab her hand if she stands."

And Destiny is the crazy one, pffft.

nogoodforyou 02-24-2011 12:13 PM

Divination. Definitely not Helena's best subject, but she surely wanted to make it be one of the best. But... why at this time of the day? AND outside? This was the first time she ever wandered around the grounds at night.

She looked around. Did they already start? Hopefully not. "Hello, professor," she smiled, then sat down by the fire.

BearyMay 02-24-2011 12:22 PM

Running a hand through her hair, Dianna walked over to the school grounds which was pitch black except for the small but visible light coming from a fire. Walking towards it, she noticed a couple of students were already there as well as Professor Bishop. She sat down by a log and eyed the marshmallows which she seemed to be wanting right now.

"Hello Professor Bishop." she smiled as she made herself comfortable.

PattyH. 02-24-2011 12:52 PM

This was going to be super cool......and not just because the air was still quite chilly!

Once Patroclus was walked out of the glow of the school, he had considered lighting his wand, but thought better of it when he saw the HUGE roaring towering inferno that was Professor Bishop's Bonfire.

"Professor this is incredible!" He smiled, his eyes lit up by the fire, the yellow tongues of flame reflected in his airs....Patroclus was a boy, so that pretty much meant he was a pyromanic......if not a secret one!

Moving over to Mia, Evelyn and hisDestiny, the prefect bowed his head and said, "Evening lovely ladies!"

It was going to be a goooood night!

WillowSeawinds 02-24-2011 12:57 PM

Rowan exited the castle wondering exactly where Divination class would be. Looking up she saw the huge bonfire and started walking towards it. This was going to be great! Finally, a class outside. "Good evening Professor," she said as she walked past their teacher and found herself a nice warm spot to sit by the fire.

Erindipity 02-24-2011 01:01 PM

Oh oh OH! FIRE!!!!! FIIIIIIIIIIRRRREEEEEE! EEEEEEE!

Lexi approached the fire and stood STARING for a moment. Perhaps too long. Shaking her head a little she smiled dreamily. "Hello Professor," she said with a giggle before moving around the fire to take a seat.

She seated herself as close to the fire as she could... without looking too weird or burning herself. Yeah. She idly wondered if a certain boy liked fire as much as she did. Not that she cared really, because SHE KNEW fire = awesome.

Lockhartian 02-24-2011 01:04 PM

XD maybe Patroclus too.

Yes, he came. Because it was Divination, okay?

But as soon as his eyes managed to witness the beauty of those dancing flames they widened a bit in surprise. Though, it was more excitement than anything else. He knew where this was going! And he loved it!

Pyromancy. Awesome!

The night. The fire. And...er, marshmallows? Yeah, never mind the marshmallows, the fire was far more important, for that was the whole reason of the class. "Evening, Professor!" he said, with a very wide smile as he went off to take a seat without taking his eyes away from the bonfire.

SPOILER!!: Destiny!

And he never took his eyes away from it, which is why it was only expected that Treyen didn't even know where he sat. Or was taking a seat, anyway.

The cushion was not as comfortable as he thought it to be. But...hold on! It was not a cushion...it was a person. And he most immediately stood up, "Sooorry! Didn't see you there!" he said, almost blushing, but since it was night then no one could see that, right?

It was Chicken!girl, commonly known as Destiny.

And a Slytherin, nonetheless. Sigh.

But, yeah, he took a seat next to her this time. Eyes on the bonfire again.

"Brilliant thinking Professor", said Emily as she made her way towards the yummy stash. She took a few marshmellows and a skewer and took a seat on one of the logs. She began to skewer and toast her marshmellows... this lesson had the potential to be one the of the best lessons in Emily's history. She loved bonfires.

It was probably a bad idea to tell Mia to grab Evelyn's hand if she stands. It has been known that the Hufflepuff likes fire, too. Lighting herself ablaze last term in Charms class. It wouldn't surprise Destiny one bit if Mia PUSHED Evelyn into the fire and then jumped in after her.

She should probably sit in between her friends, that way she could hold onto their hands so there were no fire related 'accidents'.

Just about to suggest switching places, she was, of course, distracted by a certain Prefect. HEHEHE. "Hey, Patroclus. You should probably sit next to Mia. So she can't jump in the fire." And he'd be less of a distraction..over there.

BUT! If Patroclus wanted to sit next to her, she wasn't going to complain. It wasn't like there would be any chance of hearts to show up in Divination, right? RIGHT!?

Meh. Destiny didn't know and she couldn't even think about past Divination classes because next thing she knew, she was being sat on.

SAT ON!

And what a pity. He stood up before she even had a chance to push him off of her. Turning to the person who obviously still wanted to be near her since he sat next to her, she waved off his apology as she noticed who it was. It was the boy from the stands during the Triwizard Tournament thing! The one who tried to help her stuff marshmallows in Professor Vinny's vuvuzela!

"You're not going to jump in the fire, too, are you?" she asked, as she noticed him eying up the fire.

Merlin. She couldn't hold everyone's hand.

SarcasticStrawberry 02-24-2011 02:41 PM

The first thing that Caroline noticed walking the gounds to get the divination lesson was a bonfire. Cool toasted marshmellow anyone? As she moved closer she could see that there were already several students here. "Hello Professor Bishop, Good eveing" She said as she took a seat near the fire. She had a feeling that this lesson would be interesting needless to say, since there is a bonfire there. All she needed was a tent and she could have stayed there all night, minus the fact that it was a bit chilly.

Luinevaug 02-24-2011 04:03 PM

Luin walked over to the big fire, looking at it with wide eyes, curious as to why yet another class was being held outside again. She went and took a seat, avoiding the food for now, she definitely didnt want to go and start taking stuff, you never knew at this school. As she sat down she said, "Hi Professor." and then settled down ready to start the class.

Roselyn 02-24-2011 06:14 PM

Decoration?

DECORATION!?

This sooooo wasn't for decoration. For one, a source of warmth wasn't just 'decoration', it was a need, and two, fire was too beautiful to just be a decoration. It should be…something better than a decoration. Like one of the norse gods or something that are all powerful and stuff like they somewhat learned in Ancient Runes. Or something. Meh. Mia, you get a semi-scowl. Pffft. Evelyn would have said all that was on her mind too but Destiny interrupted her.

"Wha?" Watching her? That wasn't creep- WHAT!? "Oh come on. I'm soooo past my fire obsession." Not that she inched closer to the flames or anything. She was cooold. Teehee, Destiny look, there’s your boyfriend Patroclus. Go talk to him. Pffft.

Would they get mad if she tried to touch one of the logs? Couldn’t hurt to try.

And the Gryffindork was heerrree. That…that brought some memories. So much smoke, and flames…and running… O__O!!

*giggle*

Belle came to Divination, and said "Hello Professor!" and took a seat by the warm fire. she loved making smores, it was like one of her favorite things to do with her family back home.

Hearing a little giggle Lexi TORE her eyes off of the BEAUTIFUL orange flames and took a look around.

Heh.

Evelyn. Smirking a bit she gave the girl a little nod and resumed her fire staring. Perhaps this time she wouldn't be tempted to burn everything she was wearing.

...

Maybe not.

potterobsessionist 02-24-2011 07:10 PM

It was dark, there was a fire, marshmallows and a happy Alex Reed. He'd made his way across the school grounds and found himself where the class would be held. He loved lessons at night, it was more mysterious... And of course another reason was that he got to sleep longer the morning after.

Resisting the urge to run forward and grabbing all the marshmallows he could he looked over at the professor instead. Maarshmallows Politeness first.

"Hello Professor Bishop." he smiled before he plopped himself down on the ground. The fact that Alex Reed was close to yet another fire was slightly disturbing.

Good thing? A castle made of stone couldn't burn down.

pundantic 02-24-2011 07:48 PM

Selina walked through the grounds looking for her Divination classmates. Tonight class was out on the grounds. To be honest Selina was fearful of going to Divination after her last episode. Ever since Professor Bishop told her that she was a Seer she had been studying up on her curse. Divintion seemed to catalyze a vision so Divintion was scary for Selina.

When she made it to the place were everyone was Selina smiled at everyone. Then she caught Bishop's eye and blushed, "Hello Professor.".

Holmesian Feline 02-24-2011 07:59 PM

Fire bugs :P

Bundled up since it was still winter, Simon made it down to the grounds with the rest of his fellow students ready for the latest Divination class. Spotting the blazing bonfire as he neared, the sixth year was glad for the added warmth but as he looked around at the gathered students he spotted Lexi and Evelyn and couldn't help but be reminded of putting out the fire in the dungeons not too long before, an eyebrow raising curiously.

"Good evening Professor," he greeted politely to the woman before taking a seat of his own on of the surrounding logs.
