Once you arrive to the Divination classroom, you enter to find what looks like a standard classroom setup. Desks arranged in the center of the room, facing Professor Bishop's desk and organized into pairs, look toward a charmed blackboard which currently simply says "Divination Lesson 1" in a graceful cursive. A good-sized bookshelf is against the right-hand wall and contains a large amount of small fabric-wrapped shapes.
Professor Bishop is seated at her desk, writing on something, the wooden box from her office moved to the desk in here, but she's still aware of the room. Don't think she isn't, just because she looks occupied with other things.
Feel free to take a seat, talk quietly, get your things ready and class will start shortly.
Feel free to post your character entering, speaking to each other or the professor. I'll check in when I can, so don't go overboard, and the lesson will begin tomorrow.
Nika looked around the room not sure where to sit. She tried to find a familar face that seemed to be sitting alone. At once her eyes fell on Emily and suddenly Nika's face lit up. Nika walked toward the back where Emily was sitting. "Hi Emily," Nika said with a smile. "Is anyone sitting with you? Nika was truely hoping that she would invite Nika to sit with her because if not Nika would feel somewhat embarressed.
Emily looked up to see Nika and smiled.
"Hi Nika, and no no-one's sitting here! You can sit here if you want!"
Yey! Someone to talk to!
"Has anyone told you anything about Divination yet?"

Wow, a prefect and a Ravenclaw going for the sloppy casual look. Nice.
Oh. Someone was coming to sit next to him. Ahh. It was Marie. "Hey Marie." He smiled at her, as he pulled out some parchment out of his bag. Probably should make some notes if he wanted to actually get the subject. Nice look? Finn laughed, glancing down at his untucked shirt. "I do try my best." Finn grinned at her. He really didn't think it mattered that he looked that untidy. At least he actually had his tie on. Haha. But then something else occured to him. Was Marie good at Divination. "Are you any good at Divination?"

She looked around the classroom for somewhere to sit, when she caught sight of a familiar face. "Hey Lexi," she smiled, walking over to the girl. "Think I could sit here?" She asked, motioning to the sit beside her.
Lexi heard her name and looked up from her... nothing. She was doing nothing. Smiling at Evangeline she noddedher head. "Yeah, please do," she said with a giggle. Perhaps the girl could keep her from falling asleep if the class warranted a nap. Nap in class = no good.

She got out her journal as Nika spoke, then frowned
"Well, if I'm being honest I don't like the sound of this subject. It's like you said, it's mostly guess work. But I thought I should at least try the subject before I judge it."
She rolled her eyes then looked around for a change of subject.
"Is this your first lesson? I don't think I've seen you in any others."

Nika silently agreed with what Emily was saying. No, actually I went to potions before this. Have you been to any other classes??

Simon walked into the class. As he was new, he didn't know many people, just the ones he met at Diagon Alley and at the feast. "Hello professor." the boy greeted with a smile. He then took a seat at the front of the class. He didn't like standing when everyone was sitting.

"Ancient Runes, charms and potions. My favourite by far was charms! My mam and sister were very good at that subject, and apparently I am to!" she smiled.

YAY DIVINATION!!!
Joshua Carter was quite cheerful as he climbed the stairs to the Divination classroom because this class was his favourite. Hehe. When he stepped inside the class, he happily waved at the professor ''Hello professor!'' Since divination class was his favourite class, divination professor was his favourite professor.
Right after spotting Evelyn, Destiny and Patroclus, he walked towards them and chose a seat near them. While he sat down he nodded at his friends and girlfriend then moved a little to make sure that no one was blocking his sight of the professor.

Sitting down Marie smiled back at Finn. "Well your best is working for you then." She said giving him a little wink. She took out her parchment and quill so she could be ready to take notes... lots of them. She had notes from previous years but would wait to see if she needed them before getting those out.
Huh? Was she good at this class? Crap, she was sorta hoping he was gonna be good and could give her help. Unless... maybe he was asking her to see if she did need his help before he offered it to her. Yeah that had to be it. He was a Ravenclaw and a prefect after all, he had to know what he was doing here right? "Um, I do okay, it's not my best subject though. You gonna help me if I get stuck on something?" She knew that if Jimmy was in class he would be able to help her, but he wasn't here yet. She glanced back at the door hoping to see him walk through it. Where was that boy?
Divination was just plain awesome. Lots of stuff to predict and be amaazed about. Perhaps he would get to know if he had any future as a Quidditch player. Eep.
Yes.
He must know what was that all about.
And secondly the professor of this lesson was just so pretty. Avoiding to look directly in her eyes he muttered a quick greeting "Hello Professor" before spotting a rather blond Legend and an awesome KT, Lando made his way to find a place near them. "Helloooo" he called out lightly from behind them. WHY were they not exchanging hellos?

Hmm. The woman, their new Divinations professor seemed pleasant. Very nice so far, thankfully. Katie chose to take that as a good sign and another good start to class.
Still resting her head on her arms, Katie glanced in the direction of the voice that spoke to her, sweeping the unruly strands of hair that had fallen into her face as she sat up a bit to look behind her. "Hey Lando," She murmured back, offering the boy a warm smile.

Pandora walked into the classroom and looked around. She thought that it looked a little ordinary for a Divination classroom, but she had also heard that the Professor was new. 'She'll make it her own,' Pandora thought. She walked up to the desk and said, "Hello, Professor. It's nice to meet you." She gave a sweet smile and turned to find a seat.
Pandora noticed a boy sitting by himself. So she went over to talk to him. She walked over and said, "Hi, I'm Pandora Black. May I sit here?"
Raven glanced to the girl, "Yes you may, I'm Raven, he reached out his hand nice to meet you Pandora. are you willing to be my divination partner for today classes" He replied and ask too.
"Whew, this girl a claw, having plenty rolling in mind, can I catchup with her" he thought "Lucky me or worst" playing in his mind

Aw okay. "Good day, Professor Bishop." Well, it didn't seem like she was upset, angry, or ready to hex her into next week. Huh. "Oh, I'm fine. Just..." What was her excuse again? "...a spider..." Did that sound convincing enough? Right there on the floor where that small black dot was. Maybe it was a piece of black lint actually? Or a thread?
Chuckling as she felt her face warm up, she smiled and sat back down before immersing herself in doodling random dragons and creatures in her notebook, completely missing the fact that the professor would have wanted to know her name. She had some roster sheet or something didn't she?
Class hadn't even started yet, much less the actual year, and she was already losing it.

Finally reaching the classroom, she took a moment to catch her breath before walking inside. And..it was a classroom. A normal looking classroom. Shrugging her shoulders, she gave the Professor a salute before walking over to Evelyn..
WHO WAS GOING TO KILL A SPIDER!
That was wrong, wrong, unacceptable and just WRONG! Walking a little quicker over to her friend, she placed her bag on the desk next to her, not really thinking or caring if she was saving it for someone else, and bending down, Destiny picked up the thing that sorta resembled a spider leg.
Was it a piece of thread? Yes, but Destiny didn't know that.
"Evelyn! You ripped it's leg off!"
Frown.
"That's good to hear," Professor Bishop replied as it seemed the Slytherin at the back was fine. "Spiders are probably more afraid of you than you are of it, you know. But then, this is Divination, not CoMC," she added with a smile. She had her doubts it was a spider situation anyway, but she'd let her have her little excuse. The girl seemed to have gone back to whatever she was biding time until class with anyway, so the interruptions weren't an issue.
Until another Slytherin girl entered and went over to spider girl, and Renée gave her a smile in response to the salute. "Good morning," she replied, even though she hadn't been addressed. Before raising an eyebrow as an exclamation sounded from the back of the room. Well, she knew spider girl's name now at least, without checking rosters. The mythical spider was probably gone as well, hopefully. Luckily, she had more students to deal with, so worrying about invisible spiders (or invisible anyone) went to the back of her mind.

"Good morning," Renée replied to everyone who walked in and said the same to herself. Part of her wished she still had work to do, but now it was just waiting until she felt the class was full. Her fears that nobody would attend were gone now, though. There was almost more students there now than had been in her classes in America. She just hoped she'd have enough for the practical portion of the lesson.

She looked around the classroom for somewhere to sit, when she caught sight of a familiar face. "Hey Lexi," she smiled, walking over to the girl. "Think I could sit here?" She asked, motioning to the sit beside her.
As one of the newer arrivals decided to introduce themselves, Renée nodded slightly. "Good morning, Miss Benford," she replied. Keeping things short for now, but still friendly. And it seemed Miss Benford had found a seat, so that was taken care of. The latter part of the lesson seemed like it might go smoothly. Hopefully. People were pairing up at least.

"That's very nice to hear," Renée replied as Miss Salvatore responded to her earlier statement. "I hope I don't let you down then." That was the sentiment of the hour. With a quick glance at the view from the window just outside the classroom, Patroclus entered, a smile on his face, and hop in his step. "Good day Professor Bishop," Patroclus greeted the Professor, in a warm happy tone, "I hope you enjoy your first class with us." It was not just the students that had to enjoy the lesson, the professor should as well! It's only fair!
Heading through the desk, Patroclus spotted two of his favourites, Evelyn and Destiny. Dropping himself down in a desk, he grinned at them and said "Ladies" in the voice of a cool cat.
Lets Divine!
As yet another student entered, Renée sent him a smile from the front of the room. At least it seemed she had prefects in the room, if things got too crazy. She was still hoping to keep control however. "Good morning, Mr Hudson," she replied, doing the slightest bit of checking on the name. "I hope so as well, and same to yourself." Not to mention the steadily growing crowd in the room. The stronger hope was that something wasn't planned that she was unaware of, that this many people didn't think she'd go down in flames. She wasn't planning to, even if she had to be like her phoenix. They weren't going to scare her away.

She had a class she needed to start soon. "Good morning. A bit of a guarded expression, trying not to look so concerned, crossed Renée's face as another girl almost made a disastrous entrance, but she sent her a smiel anyway. "Same to yourself," she replied. Wanting to ask, but not quite sure it was the time or place. She would have heard if there were any accidents on the lower floors before now, to explain the girl's appearance. At least she'd found a seat, so things could continue. She had a feeling it would be time to start the lesson soon anyway.

Eww. Partners? Seriously? Sheridan didn't do partners. She worked on her own or with Alex, but that was only when someone needed to learn a lesson. Still divination, she was bound to be good at that one, all it involved you doing was making up lucid stories and dreams, and if you asked anyone they would tell you the one thing Sheridan did well was embellish stories.
She sat down at an empty desk, sligning her bag on the other one, if someone walked over she had time to decide whether or not they could sit there. If they couldn't there was always the...

Renée sent yet another smile to the newest arrival, a blonde girl who looked the slightest bit disheveled. As if she'd been worried about being late, actually, which was obviously not the case even though she was semi-standing at the front of the room by now. "Good morning, Miss Smith," she replied, faint amused expression on her face as theblonde claimed two seats for her own. She was lucky there still were two, but that would change eventually.

A quiet laugh escaped her as Satine chose to respond to the warning about note-passing. More at the wording than the intent, but Renée nodded. "That's good to hear, but I'd still be careful." It was fine for now, but once things got moving, rules would need to be followed. A matter of distractions and all, and notes could be just that.

He'd work it out.
He WOULD.
Still amused by the note situation, even though she'd been assured it was useless, Renée turned as another student made their way into the quickly filling classroom and grinned a little to herself. Well, the set she'd met at the party was complete now. "Same to yourself, Jake. And I'm Professor Bishop, by the way," she said with a smile. He'd rushed off before actual introductions had happened over the summer, and she figured it would be easier not to wait for him to deduce it. She'd probably have to say her name again before long anyway.

Maybe it was just more worry about times, but obviously that was unfounded. "Good morning, Miss Sopps. I'm quite well, thank you," she replied as the girl spoke from her seat, however. Wondering if she should just start everything now, Renée was distracted by the whirling dervish that sped into the room, before slowing to reveal it was yet another student. A very hyper student, at that. "Good morning," she replied, once she'd decided it was simple hyperactivity and not anything else. "Why don't you try and find a seat, and we'll get things going soon." If he could manage to sit still. As far as she could tell, that might be questionable, but at least it might also be entertaining.

No respose for you. And if this teacher really wanted to get on Rae's good side... She wouldn't be losing points for the 'no response' either.
Rae just waited for the lesson, so then her attention would be directed at everyone else but her.
And then Rae realized she'd been spoken to, and Renée simply gave her an innocent smile. Her point had been made, and she didn't particularly mind if the Slytherin sat through the entire lesson with her head down. She had so many others to deal with to woory about one student who amusingly disliked her for simply being there at the feast. Crushes on professors were quite entertaining to watch, really.

"Hello Professor, I don't mean to take your attention away from what you are working on, but since this is my first year I thought I should introduce myself. I am Nika Adler and I'm really looking forward to your class"
Renée turned her attention to the other students again as more entered, and she smiled at the next to address her. "Good morning. It's no problem. As you can see, I'm not quite as busy anymore, Miss Adler, and I'm happy to hear you're looking forward to things." Little bit of a joke in that statement, given this was Divination. Before she could say much more, though, Miss Adler had made her way to a seat and she turned her attention to the class again. Maybe a few more minutes.

She then seen her other friends, Evelyn, Destiny and Patroclus. Yes, she would sit with them.
Walking over to them she noticed there was another new professor. "Hello Professor. Welcome to Hagwarts." Oh, there was Finn... and no one was sitting near him yet. Glancing at her friends then back to Finn she decided to sit with him. She was sure her friends wouldn't mind. "Hey Finn. Nice look you got going on there." She said noticing his untucked shirt. Wow, a prefect and a Ravenclaw going for the sloppy casual look. Nice.
Before she spoke, however, another student made their entrance, and Renée watched the newest Slytherin girl as she seemed to go through some decision-making before heading to a seat. She smiled as she was greeted, however. "Good morning, and thank you," she replied as the girl went over to the Ravenclaw prefect and sat down with a comment or two. Even though the welcome was a little unneeded, it was nice to get. She knew not everyone was ready to welcome her.
But at that, she decided it may as well be time to start class. As long as nobody interrupted, she'd be fine. "Well, I guess I'll just get started then," she said quietly to herself, before moving to stand in front of her desk. "Welcome, all of you. Obviously, as you all know, this is Divination, and I'm Professor Bishop," she said to the room as a whole, then. "While I'm sure you all know the basics, there's a chance some of you don't know all of them, so that's where we'll begin." Glancing back at the chalkborad, she watched as the words vanished, preparing for what would be next. "If anyone wants to offer anything to start, feel free. You can say what you might already know, anything like that. It's good to know, but I'd also like someone to tell me what Divination is." Start at the beginning, work from there. Always a good place.
ooc: starting after Mia, (no editing in responses guys. I'll know). Stick with one answer per post, as well. Let's spread the points out. And I don't think I need to remind you that if you haven't "entered", just act like you've been there all along.

Reason: finishing lots of replies
Lexi heard her name and looked up from her... nothing. She was doing nothing. Smiling at Evangeline she noddedher head. "Yeah, please do," she said with a giggle. Perhaps the girl could keep her from falling asleep if the class warranted a nap. Nap in class = no good.
"Thanks," she said, sitting down beside Lexi. It would be good to be sitting beside someone that she knew, and liked. Because although Evangeline would do her very best with every class, Lexi might be a bit more interesting.

The teacher seemed nice, however. She smiled at the teacher, not yet knowing her name, but she was sure she'd find out soon enough. Now she just looked towards the front of the class, waiting for her to start.
Pandora smiled and shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you too, Raven." Pandora sat down. "Of course I'll be you're partner." She smiled. "So have you been to any other classes, yet?"

Having walked into the classroom and sat down sometime earlier, Sierra Greingoth absentmindedly twirled a lock of her hair while she thought about Divination class. Easy? Hard? Who knew...
...but if she really was any good at telling the future, she'd already know, wouldn't she? Maybe once she had a few lessons under her belt, though, that might change. She glanced over at the professor uncertainly, suddenly wondering if she'd ever actually heard the woman's name before. If she had, she somehow didn't remember it. There were just too many new names and faces for her to have them all down pat right now.
So she simply gave the woman a small smile then continued to wait quietly for the lesson to begin.
Violet walked into the classroom seeing other students already there. She saw the Professor in front of the room and she smiled walking up to her gracefully. Violet continued smiling as she said politely,"Hello Professor Bishop, my name is Violet Le Veela. I'm sure I'll be learning a lot of new things in this class and I'm very excited." She then smiled at her again before turning and seeing her best friend Selina. Violet quickly walked over to her taking a seat right next to her, pulling out her book, ink, and pen. "Good morning Selina! How excited are you about Divination?" She giggled as she played with her a hair a little bit.
Looking up from her book and the parchment that she was heading she saw the bright and bubbly Hufflepuff take a seat next to her. The small quant table fit three and now with the two of them sitting down they awaited the final bum to take the seat, Ms. Elektra Draven.
Getting a good look at Violet Selina saw the usual yellow bow adorned in her hair. Her uniform somewhat more classy and unique than the others in the classroom. "Hey Vi. Yeah I am, Adam and I were talking about dreams and Divination in the Common Room last night. I keep a dream diary so I guess you could say I'm interested in the topic. What about you?"

Woah. How did she know that he was tired? She was a mind reader or something. Or maybe she had the inner-eye??
Pssh. Never mind.
"Orlando." Legend muttered with a slight nod, as the younger boy sat down close. He didn't have to say much. Katie would greet him and talk to him and baby him. Yup.
He, on the other hand was still waiting on the moment to give Lando pushups.

Satine glanced up as a new face approached the empty desk and sat down. "Well, thanks! Purple's my favorite color and the hair has been my signature color since I started here six years ago. It makes it easy to spot me in a crowd..." she said with a little giggle.
She held out her right hand towards the girl, "I'm Satine Farris, Sixth Year Ravvie..." she said with pride to the girl.
"Purple's my favourite colour too." Mia said as she finally tore her gaze away from the girl's hair and settled on her face. And then she too giggled at what the girl said. "Well I have to admit you are the first person I saw when I walked into the room."
She twisted in her seat and faced the older girl and extended her own hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Satine. My name is Mia Gibbins, fifth year Hufflepuff." She gave Satine's hand a shake before dropping her own hand onto the desk. "This is one of my favourite classes. What about you?"
Alex was not happy as he entered the Divination classroom, because his legs were killing him from climbing all those stairs. Those Ravenclaws and Gryffindors must have calves of steel by now! As he entered the room, he looked around and saw Treyen, the boy who'd mistaken him for a fifth year at the beginning of the year, and headed over to him, taking the seat next to him.
"Hi," he said happily, taking a seat and pulling out his books. He noticed that Treyen hadn't unpacked any of his things and wrinkled his brows. "You ok?" he asked. Something seemed off about him. Or maybe Alex was just crazy and imagining things.
Eyes fixated on the board and the way 'Divination' was written, Treyen started to regret his decision of coming in.
"Alex, hey!" he said, with a small smile, and watched the oh-so-much-taller-than-him boy take a seat next to him. Treyen's smile turned into a smirk when he noticed Alex taking out his books. Yeah, he was NOT doing that yet. He was here...to observe. Yes.
"Me? Yeah, of course," he said, shrugging his shoulders. Why wouldn't he be okay, right? After how awful this year was turning out to be. "You?" the Lockhart boy was giving no indication at his slight dislike for the new Professor.

It wasn't like he had actually done something wrong, for as far he knew, the adult at Jake's party was the new Divination professor. But he just so wondered if he had made a bad impression to the new professor when he met her at the party. Guh, he was being silly. Definitely. 'Are you nervous?' or 'You're nervous' couldn't exactly mean he'd done or showed something wrong. Oh. Silly him.
It was after a moment when Cedric shrugged the 'silly' thought away (yes, he decided the thought itself was silly. Totally not him). And so he walked into the room, his hands on his pockets, and eyes glancing round the room casually. Then his gaze fell upon the woman. "Hello ma'am," he greeted, and then noticed Treyen... looking a bit gloomy unlike his usual self. He walked toward Trey, flopped down on the seat beside him, and offered, "Hey Trey. How's life treatin' you?" For it was treating him... a bit too wickedly.
Oh? His eyes were on the badge already and it hasn't even been two minutes since Cedric sat down on the other side. Well, this wasn't FAIR either! For all he knew Treyen could look like a first year sitting between this two GIANTS!
He frowned.
Then let it go. There were more important things to worry about, no?
How was life treating him? Hmmm...interesting. Awful. That was the answer. "Okay...I guess," he shrugged, and looked at the board again. His frowned deepened, "Yeah, everything's okay, how about you?" he truly didn't mind if he answered or not, he was now focused on NOT focusing.

First Year
The Ones Who Love Us Never Really Leave Us R.I.P. Susan aka Mum, Douglas, and Chantice
Charley walked into the Divination classroom. Most of the other students had already nabbed their seats, and she was surprised to see that the room looked very....normal. Thank goodness, she thought. A classroom that looks like the ones in school back home. Save for the charmed blackboard, that is, of course. Pretty cursive, too. It looks a lot like Mum's.
Charley chose a desk on the right side of the class, near the bookshelf, that didn't have a student sitting in the one adjacent to it. Professor Bishop had arranged the desks into pairs, so she wanted to reduce her risk of being around any gossip. Or giggling, for that matter.
"Hello, Professor Bishop," she greeted her teacher, sitting down and taking out her notebook, ink and quill, as well as a few jellybeans from the Bertie Bott's package she'd stashed in her bag, which she popped into her mouth one by one. She was still peeved that her Charms class had turned into an ogling session for most of the other girls. Apparently Professor Descoteaux was "sexy" and "dreamy". It's not as if I was the only first-year either. How creepy is that? she thought, disappointed that there was no response from her brother.
Suffice to say, she was very relieved that she had another female Professor. And Divination sounded very interesting. It was one of the few things Henry had told her he was not good at. Lauren had sent a list in her first letter to Charley at school, of subjects that she was not good at-meaning she wasn't one of the top students in that class when she was at Hogwarts.
I will be, though. I'm off to a pretty successful start. I can definitely do this.

Hello Professor? MEEP! She knew that voice rather well. Which meant, both Gryffindors were in the class! Especially the one which she had been waiting for for like five minutes now.
Looking towards the desk in front of them, the Slytherin smiled before moving up one seat to sit next to Josh. Well, they were all pretty much seated together anyways, their little group that is, but now she was just sitting next to him. Him who...was paying rather good attention to the Professor. Huh. When did he become so studious?
Hmmm?
OMG! That's what her dad used to say to her. Something about spiders being more scared of them then they are of...them...
Or something.

Smiling over to Josh, the Slytherin looked forward once it seemed the Professor was starting to talk to the whole class in general, already feeling as though she'd been sitting there for over an hour. Yes, this was going to be a long class.
Especially if they were only going over the basics.
But, what better way to make herself stay awake then to answer questions? "Divination is the..." What. "...attempt, I guess you can put it, to foresee into future events or gain answers from questions that you may need guidance on, using...various tools."
But at that, she decided it may as well be time to start class. As long as nobody interrupted, she'd be fine. "Bishop. Like the chess piece," Jake nodded, and went ahead to take his seat.
MOOOOOOVING ON.
Once Bishop was done talking, Jake raised his hand. What he wanted to say was how TERRIBLE he was at this subject... but he settled with something else. "Well, like the name suggests, I guess Divination is... divining. That's usually what some kind of god-like dude does, and a kind of omniscient thing. So... it's... getting information I guess from natural occurances."
...
Maybe.
