Because the Headmaster has no use for a second office, he has re-purposed this room for an entirely different use. The room is larger than it should be; the fact that Tate reduced a wall into an adjoining room is obvious by the fact that his ‘office’ has two doors along the same long wall. Rather than leaving an empty office or reinventing the standard dueling area, the room now serves as a training facility for those with an interest in Defense and Defense related careers: Aurors, Hit Wizards, and the International Task Force (among others).

The two windows in the room face out over an inner courtyard and let in tree-filtered light throughout the day. Beside one such window, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves have been stuffed full of countless Defense texts. The titles range from ancient tomes in spidery indecipherable scripts to glossy hardcovers featuring some of the premiere Defensive authors of the day. The long table is conducive for transcribing notes from the various books, but there are also a few deep chairs pushed together for general reading or quiet conversation. There is a sign posted on the bookshelf.

Along the opposite wall, leading from the far door halfway to the window, Tate has set up various pieces of exercise equipment, intending for those interested in pursuing a Defensive career to develop themselves physically as well as mentally. A punching bag is suspended from the ceiling in the corner, sitting beside a stand of free weights and other odds and ends, mats and exercise balls and the like. Stretching along the remainder of the space to the window is an enormous climbing wall, complete with hand and foot holds all the way up to the ceiling. There are no ropes, but the floor is generously cushioned with a charm.

Between the two windows sit a series of padded dummies, perfect for any dueling practice needed for class or just to be used in the process of learning new spells. Drag one or two out and practice. Either of the windows onto the courtyard may be opened and, weather permitting, training can extend into this open space. Try not to kill and trees or squirrels in the process.

Entering the Training room, ready to wait for Headmaster Tate, whenever he wanted to show up, Jake glanced around the room, slightly taken aback. He couldn't remember... well... this. It seemed so different last time he was here.

Looking for something to do whilst he waited for Tate, Jake's eyes clearly fell on the bookshelf and he started for that direction immediately...

... but then out of the corner of his eye, he saw something along the other wall. Namely, a punching bag. At once, Descoteaux's words rang through his mind. So instead, Jake turned in that direction, but then he had ANOTHER dilemma... because there was a climbing wall, and Jake had always been an avid climber. Truebs had even taken him climbing in Peru that one time. It was so awesome.

Realising he didn't have much steam to let off JUST yet, Jake took another step closer the the wall and grinned. He jumped at it and straight away started scaling the wall. Climbing was Jake's forte, and he was almost at the top in no time at all.

So. Awesome.

"Incendio!" she casted,only thinking of the consequences a little too late. The dummy burst into flames. She hoped that Elle knew the water spell 'cos she didn't!

"Uhm,I don't really know any other D.A.D.A. spells"Alice said. Alice laughed along with Elle and smiled,Elle was probably in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. The people in those houses were usually the most caring and friendly.(Not that she had anything against Slytherin and Ravenclaw.)

Looking around, Helena decided to enter the Training room, even though she had no intention to use spells or even worse... duel. No, she surely wouldn't duel, as it was forbidden, according to the small sign by the practice dummies. She wouldn't use the various pieces of exercise equipment as well, because she was... well, terrible at sports. And that climbing wall... No way. Helena was afraid of heights.

So no training today. Just reading. Of course, she instantly fell in love with the Headmaster's books. She took Confronting the Faceless, even though it had a pretty advanced level. But that didn't matter at all.

Spinning around, his first reaction would have been to duck, in any duel, however thanks to the snow and the ice underneath he went down without a problem. A rather lucky endeavor as a snow ball whipped just over his head. What in all the --?

His head darted back to see the snowball impact against one of the trees, before looking back at his opponent with a wide grin. "Chosen, do you know how to count?" He was already laughing at the snowball tactic, no need to mention it.

Shifting his weight a little, he remained crouched, one hand on the ground, the other at his side, lightly holding his wand, waiting.

"Not really, no. They only teach you magic at Hogwarts you know." Legend smirked. His snowball had missed but that was alright. It still had been an epic idea. Now it was time to get serious. "Stupefy!" Legend yelled lazily. Just to distract the older boy. "Calvorio!" He yelled right after BAM. His wand aimed straight at Sabel's head as the purple light shot right out.

Say goodbye you your hair Sable-boy.

Benjamin walked into the room that he had heard about from other people. He looked around for someone not doing anything, and everybody seemed to be busy.

"Can anybody help me with some dueling spells? I need some help in learning some good spells. Please?"

Helena looked up from her book the moment she heard a voice. She recognized him as a first year, but still didn't know his name.

She got up and walked towards him and smiled. "Hey, do you want to try to learn something together? I'm not that good but we can try."

As soon as his knees hit the ground and his body came right side up, Sabel pushed himself to his feet and flicked his wand at the younger boy, the momentum of his roll keeping him moving. "Deprimo!" The strength of the spell was not to hurt, simply to knock the boy over should it hit.

"Prote-oof." Legend was knocked backward onto his back as the spell hit him before he had a chance to move. He hadn't been expecting Sabel to recover so fast. Alright, he had to step his game up. Legend jumped back up, the snow on his back making he colder.

He wanted to duel? But... "Don't you think it's a better idea to wait for the Headmaster? We could try and duel here and he could supervise us, maybe help and teach something new," Helena said, smiling. "I really don't want to risk losing points for dueling around," she whispered.

Oh, she forgot about the names... again. "Oh, I'm Helena. Nice to meet you, Benjamin."

Sabel's eyes widened a little at the incantation that was flung at him and instead of going forwards or scooting backwards he did the only thing that seemed remotely reasonable at that point in time. A dead halt of his upper body had his feet moving ahead of him until there was nothing but air for their grip, dropping him hard and fast on his back. He had missed the spell by a fraction of an inch in exchange for a nice winding and the frigidness of snow as it trickled down the back of his collar. Both actions had him casting a shield around himself.

How silly he must have looked then, lying flat on his back, staring up at the sky with wide eyes in a bubble of protego. "Legend....you know some weird spells..." And he really needed to get back to his feet, once he caught his breath.

The sixth year was prepared to duck and cover but when nothing came out of Sabel's wand he quickly picked up clumps of snow. As quickly as he could he made five average sized snowballs. "Globo Leviosa" He said flicking his wand at the snowball with the spell he learned in charms.

The snowball shot in the air right above where Sabel lay just as Legend sent out another one. "Globo Leviosa!"

The one thing worse than having snow down the back of his shirt, was having it down the back and front. Apparently protego didn't guard against snowballs, or he just wasn't expecting to have to block snowballs.

Whatever the case was, he was pelted with the two forwarded snowballs before he could get back on his feet and then it was a matter of wiping the snow off so he could see exactly what was going on. His wand made two, consecutive flicks, the first towards himself and the next towards Legend, on incantation following the other as soon as the wand altered course. "Impervius. Incarcerous!"

"No I don't mean dueling. just some spells for dueling. we can practice on a dummy or something. You do the spell first, Teach me how to move my wand, and I learn how to move the wand and say the spell correctly. Stuff like that. I don't want to lose points over dueling either. I think my head of house would turn me into stick bug. Professor Lafay's considered to be one of the most scariest teachers here. But she's not that bad. She's just really strict and precise. "Okay, basics," the girl nodded, then stopped for a moment to think. "So... skipping the first part, the one you just told me about, I think I would use the Disarming Charm. It's pretty simple. You just have to," she paused to take out her wand and pointed it to Benjamin, "make a small circle or just point the wand to the opponent and then, the incantation, of course." Aaaand of course she wouldn't say the incantation while her wand was still pointed at Benjamin. "Now you try the wand movement and then we'll try on the dummies," she smiled, lowering her wand.

Hit! Direct hit times two! Legend gripped his fist in a short victory. "Snow time is the best time wouldn't you agree?" Mwaha. That must have been freezing. Legend pulled his hat over his ears just as Sabel muttered his first spell. Wait- that was the one that let water slide off which would mean the other snowball- Legend had no time to think. The next spell was coming fast and he knew exactly what it did.

There wasn't much he could do. Falling back, or forward. Legend was unsure if the spell was able to track you. Quickly he brought his arms up above his head and crossed them to form an X shape. His hand still gripped his wand tightly. In less than a second felt like all the air was being squeezed out of him. This was painful. This hurt. "Diffindo." He struggled out flicking his wand slow enough so it wouldn't cut his skin.

It worked. Surprisingly. The pressure was lifted and the ropes slid off. They had been there only for a few seconds but it felt like forever. "Sabel. Not nice-Everte Statum." He said the words quickly as he flicked his wrist. Simple payback.

He walked into the room hoping someone would be here waiting to duel. He was in the mood for a good one. It had been a while. He took his wand out and looked around. "I guess i could just practice a couple of the spells on there crates here. "
He pointed his wand. "Avis!" The birds circled around his head. "Hello there. And now, Confringo!" With a whip of his want the crate exploded before him. "Alright then, So"
Speaking now to the birds instead of himself. "We must transfigure these pieces of broken wood to mice. I think a little war between you and the mice would be interesting. Don't you guys think so?" JP smiled at the birds. He must have looked like a weirdo speaking to these animals. But he didn't mind. He was excited. He began to transfigure the wood. He cleared his mind and focused while waving his wand. One by one the pieces of wood began to change.
