This is the area next to the Charms classroom. It is accessed through a medium-sized door that remains unlocked most of the time, and has been enchanted to hold far more space than a normal classroom.

Inside, there are stations that permit one to practice regular charms, against one wall. Each station is dedicated to different objects, from saucers and teacups to cushions and plush toys.

Dummies that react to simple charms and minor jinxes and hexes stand next to another wall.

The center of the room is free of any items, and several easy chairs have been placed in an airy and illuminated corner, far from the stations and dummies, so that students might sit. This is also the corner that houses a bookshelf containing a number of informative books on charms, though these books are enchanted so that they cannot be taken out out of the hall.

There is a notice stuck next to the door that reads:

☛ Students are free to utilize this room for reading or finishing an assignment at all times, but Professor Descoteaux must be asked for permission before any charms are practiced here.

OOC: Since the door is usually unlocked, a student can technically enter and practice without supervision, but please remember that if [s]he does so, Jared is going to react accordingly.

Kurumi looked at him a little nervously not sure if she was ready for this herself. Her and Jenny had had real problems last year trying to get a fire started.

Nodding, Kurumi quickly cast Focalia to conjure a small pile firewood on the floor. Looking back at Raven for a moment, Kurumi conjured one more pile for demonstration purposes. "Okay, the same principles apply to Incendio as they did for Scourgify. One of the problems I had was saying the words too strongly, and then I nearly singed my eyebrows off," Kurumi laughed a little too casually. "Ahem, so, just another swish and flick with the proper amount of focus and..." Kurumi pointed her wand at her pile of wood. "Incendio!" A small spark erupted from the end of her wand and started a small fire. "This might take a few tries. First, try to aim for the wood...not the floor." Try not to make the same mistake she had was what Kurumi was trying to say.

Raven laugh a little too, in Kurumi word about eyebrow, he don't like being no eyebrow, how embarrassing situation maybe.
"the same ways, different word" he repeated.
Raven ready himself gripping the wand as tightly he can be. trying to remember what is he doing in Scourgify. --the intention is very important, --focus, gave the wand swish-and-flick as snappy he can be then say "Incendio" the wand give a flame from the tip but didn't enough to ignite the pile of wood. he sighed.
Raven repeated the procedure cast "Incendio" the result is the same, the wood is still the wood but thanks he hasn't burn his eyebrow "err, Kurumi, suggestion please" Raven ask politely

"Well, you aren't doing anything wrong per say, this is just a tricky spell," Kurumi said reassuringly as she picked up the piece of wood that Raven was trying to set fire to. "It is a little warm to the touch, so you are doing something right," she smiled passing him the wood so he could feel it himself. "Maybe, we should try something that is a little easier to catch fire and work our way up," she then offered pulling out a crumpled piece of parchment from her pocket that Walnut had been playing with earlier. "Try casting Incendio on this parchment."

Raven do the wand movement again, now he is likely familiar to it, same intention --making the wood in fire --"Incendio" he shout with full belief, a flame of really red colored flame burst out on wand, fire consumed the wood, immediately. Raven is wanna smile but it became grim, because the fire rose high, "ern, Kurumi, look like I'll overdo it, help", Raven said almost a panic ways.

Woah! Fire in the hole! Raven certainly, ahem, had the passion part of magic down. Now it was a matter of concentrating that, not letting it explode all over the place. Kurumi looked at the ground where there was nothing but a small pile of black ash that was a piece of wood a moment earlier. "Okay, um, not so much passion this time," she laughed setting another piece of wood on the floor. "Um, try to think of your passion as being forced into a narrow tube that points to a single point on that piece of wood. You don't need the entire thing to catch on fire, just a small area of that. After, oxygen in the air should take care of the rest."

Raven have an idea --how about cleaning the floor first, he cast Scourgify on the floor, the ashes will remove itself but not all of it, evident of ashes is still on the floor.

once more, "Incendio" the wood isn't ingite, but for now having an evident of burn, Raven is adjusting a little more. now for the third time. His hand gave a swish-and-flick movement, coincide with his think of setting a bonfire, he cast "Incendio", a jet of flame burst out, now it's colored blue, like a torch, hitting the middle of the pile of wood, a small fire is ready to ignite.
and yes, he made it setting fire of wood. leave the rest on natural way --just like Kurumi said, Oxygen will take care of the rest. Raven grin to Kurumi, Saying "you're a good instructor, cookie sister", with a sweet smile.

Just to be sure, Kurumi picked up another piece of wood and set one of the ends of it in the flames to see if the tips could catch fire, which it did. Yep, Raven had managed to make real flames. "I think you can use the smell in our next potions class now."

Raven mood is glowing at the moment, he learn two spell, not easily but he did it. thank to Kurumi.

Raven will have another request after a day or two

She then turned and bowed deeply to Professor Descoteaux in gratitude. "Thank you very much, Professor. I am sure we will be back again."

Jared had pulled up a chair in a corner, and seemed immersed in his book again. That did not, however, mean that he did not have an eye on the Gryffindors practicing.

Jaina entered into the Charms practice room. She was excited to learn te 2 basic spells she would need for Potions class...aguamenti and incendio! She opened her package while waiting for Emmaleigh to arrive. She had sent a letter to the 3rd hand book emporium in Diagon Alley requesting a copy of Beedle the Bard. She smiled when she saw it. There was another book in there, too, that was all about snakes. She was planning on sketching a king cobra on the inside of the book and write a message for Benjamin. She pulled out her pencil and began to sketch the head of the king cobra while waiting.

spell or something. I'm stilll wearing my nice clothes."

Benjamin was excited to learn something that would happen to be usefull for him out in the real world.

Setting her bag down, and opening the flap, she began to pull out some of the things she had brought. "Well, I think it's better to start with Aguamenti. Looking up from the tea cup, she smiled at Jaina. "Since you were having trouble controlling how much water you conjured, I thought we would practice on objects that hold different amounts of water."

Jared gave Benjamin a polite nod as the Slytherin entered. "That depends on what you want to learn. I believe you wanted to go over the charms taught in the first lesson." Speaking of which... "One of them can mean getting soaked."

Though a drying charm could take care of that, Jared supposed he should still let Benjamin know. Forewarned is forearmed.

Jaina looked at all the different containers. "Wow! I think after all of these I should be able to control it really well!" she exclaimed. She looked them over. "I think I'll start with the tea cup. It looks the safest." she pointed at the tea cup and recited "Aguamenti!" and the cup was only filled halfway. "Is there a trick to filling it a certain amount that I'm missing?"

"That's ok. I have my cloaks waterproofed. So, let's see what we we can do." He stepped back from the professor and was ready for whatever he about to get taught.

Em gave a little laugh as she walked to the her bag and grabbed her towel. "Well we know you can do the spell." As she was drying the water, she smiled up at Jaina. "I think part of the problem is the wand moments." When it was dry, she sat the towel aside, and stood beside the girl. "Its a swish and flick, like this." she said as she demonstrated the motion.
