| | |  Charms Practice Hall
This is the area next to the Charms classroom. It is accessed through a medium-sized door that remains unlocked most of the time, and has been enchanted to hold far more space than a normal classroom.
Inside, there are stations that permit one to practice regular charms, against one wall. Each station is dedicated to different objects, from saucers and teacups to cushions and plush toys.
Dummies that react to simple charms and minor jinxes and hexes stand next to another wall.
The center of the room is free of any items, and several easy chairs have been placed in an airy and illuminated corner, far from the stations and dummies, so that students might sit. This is also the corner that houses a bookshelf containing a number of informative books on charms, though these books are enchanted so that they cannot be taken out out of the hall.
There is a notice stuck next to the door that reads:
☛ Students are free to utilize this room for reading or finishing an assignment at all times, but Professor Descoteaux must be asked for permission before any charms are practiced here.
OOC: Since the door is usually unlocked, a student can technically enter and practice without supervision, but please remember that if [s]he does so, Jared is going to react accordingly.

Finn had been wandering along the third floor corridor, when he had come across this room next to the charms classroom. It seemed that it was unlocked, so he decided that he may as well have a look. Because well it was unlocked, and he was curious. So he stepped in.
Ahh. It looked like it was a practice room, which could come in useful. Charms wasn't exactly his best subject, so he could do with some practice. There also seemed to be some books in there, which could also come in useful. He wandered towards the little bookshelf, and pulled out a book, reading its title. Yeah. He could definetly do with coming to this room a couple of times during the year, just so he'd be ahead before next year....which made him look so nerdy. Ahh well. He was a cool nerd.

Ellie would never admit that she completely freaked out a LOT when this chimaera decided it was a good idea to visit her in the dormitory, coincidentally making a fool of herself. She wouldn't. And besides, it was that lucky time of day when most people were lingering the halls, socializing after classes, so no one had made it up to the dorm yet. A few people were just entering the common room, but she had run past them, excited for her appointment with Professor Charming.
Anyway, after the creature started talking, she was fine. She shoulda known from it's silveryness that it wasn't real...but that didn't matter much now.
The lion head had told her to come here. And so here she was.
She looked around, and didn't see the Professor yet. Way to be UNpunctual, Mr. Still-not-in-her-good-book. Heh. She saw the chairs in the corner, and fell into one, not bothering to pick up a book. Books were gross. And she had a professor to teach her, so why bother.
The nice thing about these chairs, was that if she sat aaaaall the way back, her feet could dangle. Oh, how she missed dangling her feet. So, swinging them back and forth, she pulled a chocolate frog from her pocket and waited.

Luna entered the Charms practice hall. She hadn't been able to practise over the holidays so she wanted to brush up on her skills. She looked around, no-one else was in the room except for an older boy. She picked up thebook Achievments of Charming and sat down next to the boy. She needed to reviese for her O.W.L's. Charms was one of her best sujects, but then again, you couldn't be too sure. After the first paragraph, she soon got bored. Where was the Professor?

Hmm. Defensive charms. This book did look interesting, and Finlay decided that it would be good to read this a little. Maybe he should've brought some parchment down too, so that he could've done some notes. But there would always be next time, and he really didn't want to look too nerdy within the first few days of the term. He did have a reputation to uphold.
He did open the book though, and start to read the first paragraph. Hmm. It could come in useful. But then he heard some more footsteps, and looked up to see two more students in the room. Well at least he wasn't along now. And they were both wearing blue robes too. Oh yes. Ravenclaws were awesome.
He smiled, resting the book in his lap. Well, it wouldn't hurt to get to know the people in his house, he was a prefect afterall. "Hey" That would work

He traced a small semi-circle in the air, and then drew a vertical line through its middle, as if slashing it open. The sign lingered in the air, faint and blue, a straight line bisecting a half-circle.
"Give it a try." The sign in the air disappeared, leaving behind a lingering, bluish smoke. "It's fairly easy to perform. The main thing is the caster's ability. If you're in the middle of a fall, you don't want the charm to wear off before you land." Smirk.

Yeaaahhhh. Ellie nodded her head. Elliot Smethwyk, making brooms all comfy, bunch of stuff she already knew, blah blah blah. Quidditch books were one of the few kinds she actually read.
She might inform him that she played Quidditch. One day.
Okay, now the real magic. Spongify. Like a sponge? Really? Odd incantation. Made sense, though. And so did the movement. It was kinda like a cusion, and then something falling through it.
Who knew spell inventors had such imaginations.
Her turn, right. Ellie unholstered her wand. It felt...weird...she hadn't used it yet. Which was weird all on its own. Anyway...
She held it up in the air and mimicked Professor Charming's motion.

Hmm. The professor dude person was here now, and talking to the Ellie girl. Finn decided he'd just continue reading his book, and talk to the professor once he was done talking to Ellie. Finlay Carmicheal was nice and polite like that. It would also give him some good time to actually finish reading the book. He opened it up again, and did try to remember where he had gotten too. Ahh. There. That was it. Defensive charms. Maybe he could've done with some parchment actually, because he was bound to forgot what he was reading.

She pointed her wand back at the box again. "Spongify," she said, accompanied with a semi-circle, line.
Ellie stared at the box. It didn't look different... She prodded it with her wand, just for it to come in contact with a tap.
