The third Charms lesson is going to take place, as announced, outside the Forbidden Forest. There's a bonfire-of-sorts cackling on the ground, and protective spells have been placed around it, so it cannot hurt anyone or anything. Round it are placed soft, low hay bales to serve as seats.
Jared is seated on one of the hay bales, waiting for the students to arrive. Lying next to him, upside-down, is a kitten that opens its eyes and looks at each student as it arrives.
OOC: The lesson has not yet started. Feel free to RP your characters arriving. Characters talking to each other is fine, as long as it's not over-done.

Yaaaay, spell time! K-Lee practiced the incantation a couple of time before attemtping the spell.
"Disillusiona!" K-Lee cast on her lantern, instantly noticing a dimming in the lanten's appearance. Not good enough!
"Disillisiona!" She tried again, this time succeeding in making her lantern disappear. Merlin she loved being so good at Charms. Pity she was horrible at Transfiguration. Within a few seconds though the spell had worn off.
Once the students had all settled down, Jared picked up the explanation where it had been left off. "Now, the most common Disillusionment Charm is Disillusiona, and this is the charm we're going to practice before heading back to the castle. The wand movement is to the tap the top or surface of the target, with your wand, twice. So." He rapped the top of the lantern he had set down earlier, said the incantation out loud, and the lantern seemed to disappear. Jared cast Finite - verbally, for the benefit of the students - and the lantern re-appeared.
"Concentration and focus are more essential to this charm, than many others. The more you concentrate, the better your results. If your mind isn't on the charm, it's likely that half the target is going to disappear, and half remain in plain sight." No good, that.
"Go ahead and try it out on your lanterns. And," he added, before any of the students could start getting ideas. "No one is going to cast the Disillusionment Charm on themselves and then move away from their hay bale." They could cast it on themselves. If they remained on their hay bales until they nullified its effects. He wouldn't put it past some of the students to sneak off. "If anyone does so -" And he would know if someone did - "That's fifty points from their house and a week's worth of detention."
Belle heard the professor saying the charm and said in her head "Disillusiona...Disllusiona..Disllusiona.." she repeated. She faced her latern and concentrated. She thought of the charm and nothing else. "Disllusiona!" she said with a tap two times and the latern dissapeared! "Oh wow..." she said in amazement. She loved her wand because it was usefull in charms. Alright now lets bring it back, "Finite!" she said clearly. "Woah amazing!" was her reaction. "I like this spell professor!"
Feeling some blood rush backing into his hand, Patroclus knew it meant that Kurumi had let go, "We are all safe now, little cub!" Nothing to worry about.
But then out of nowhere Professor D opened a can of awesome -ness!
"Seriously Professor Descoteaux, you are so cool!" he laughed as he watched the lantern vanish and then return.
Not only were they being a totally awesome spell, it was also a really useful one! As he ended the levitating spell he had performed on his own lantern, he directed it so that it came into land on a hay bale before him.
Then he did want he did best; meditated and centered his thoughts on the spell, the direction, the intent, the desire.
When he felt ready, the young wizard snapped open his eyes and tapped the lantern with his yew wand and announced in a clearly, if not rather deep voice, "Disillusiona"
The affect was instant, the lantern was gone, hidden from sight. But not even giving himself a chance to celebrate, Patroclus ended the charm, "Finite!" and then immediately proceeded to cast again, "Disillusiona"
This was something Patroclus had come to find really worked for him, a rapid succession of charm, reversal spell and charm again, it was kind of like a way to ensure that he had his wand had the complete memorary of the spell, a way to save it wand.
Happy with his efforts, Patroclus allowed the lantern to stay invisible, "Nice!"
"Finite"
Ending the charm, Patroclus watch as the light from the lantern slowly reappeared lighting the section of hay once again.
The Lion Prefect could not expression how proud on himself he was! This spell was legendary and had always had been on the top of his 'to learn' list. And now he had not only learnt it, but he was amazing at it.....well he thought so!
Having a funny idea, Patroclus centered his thoughts once again and this time tapped the hay bale, "Disllusiona!" instantly the bale disappeared, leaving the lantern to appear to be floating on it's own. Now this was just too cool not to do!
Patroclus jumped up onto the hay bale, and looked down!
"Finite" Kyle ended the spell on the haybale. Ah the fun she could have with that.
"Finite" she made the lantern appear again.
"Disillusiona!" She called out making her shoe disappear, she had been reaching for the lantern infront of her. "Finite" it appeared again. She laughed it was funny seeing her feet look barefoot but not be.
"Disillusiona" she taping her head twice she disapepard "finite" and she was back again. Oooh she was having fun.
"Disillusiona" she taped the haybale twice and lay back on the invisible haybale.

Jared gave Patroclus a faint smile. It seemed the Prefect, like most of the other students, liked the prospect of learning the Disillusionment Charm. He had no time to respond, however, as Kurumi spoke up.
"It's fine, Kurumi," he said, thankfully missing the blush.

Savannah tapped the top of her lantern and cryed. "Disillusiona!" And woo hoo! It became invisible! Well, at least it looks invisible. But after a few seconds, the lantern came into view again, then back to invisble, then flashed back again. "Er...proffessor? Is this suppose to happen?"
"It can, if one is just beginning to learn the charm," Jared said, looking down at the lantern that had begun to lose its chameleon-like quality. "You're not doing anything wrong, per se. Give it a few more tries, and you should be able to cast it for a longer period of time."

Again nothing happened. Nika raised her hand in hopes of getting the professor's attention. "Er professor, I can't seem to get this right. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm really trying to focus, I really am."
"That's okay, Nika," Jared said, green gaze shifting to the Gryffindor. "Certain charms are harder to master than others. Take a deep breath, stop worrying, and try again."
In his experience, the more one thought about focusing, the less one actually focused.

She'd have to work on that.
"Disillusiona," Jared corrected. That mispronunciation could be the reason the effects of her charm had been so short-lived.

She had no idea? Good thing. That meant a good portion of the other students might not, either.

She pretened to blow the tip of her wand like a gun and with a quick "Finite" picked up her lantern again. She wanted to carry this all the way back to her common room.

"It seems most of you can cast the charm now," Jared said. He paused, before going on. "It's easiest to cast the Disilluionment Charm on non-living, inanimate objects. Such as these." His gaze swept the lanterns. "The size of the target is directly proportional to the difficulty - the larger the target, the harder it is to execute the charm perfectly but, more than that, it is the nature of the target that defines the level of difficulty. To put it simply, it's hard to cast it on non-living but animate targets, and even harder to cast it on living targets. It might not be possible for everyone that knows the charm to use it perfectly on, say, a cat; and it can take people up to a year to completely master its use on a human being." Emphasis on completely master.
And?
"That's all for today. And this year." He paused for a moment, realizing that a year had indeed gone, flown past. "If you'd like to continue practising the charm, you may do it here, right now; or in the Practice Hall, later." He was going to be here, for some time. Jared cast on his lantern, and its light streamed out in a line, lighting up the path from the spot outside the Forbidden Forest to the castle, so that the students could see the path and he could make sure they did not stray from it. "To those returning next term, I hope to see you again after the break. To those graduating, good luck. Have a good summer."
All of them.
OOC: Thank you for a fun lesson and another amazing term. You're all awesome. <3
"Have a good summer as well Professor!" Kyle called out happily as she jumped up off of her haybale and began to pack up her things. She started to climb up the path slowly thinking what to do first - pack her bags or cast some mischief - eh bags.

IF YOU MAKE HER ____________
The little first year was in shock when her Professor announced that they had concluded the final charms lesson for the year. Her first year was coming to a close and she could not believe it. Soon she would be off heading home to the empty corridors of Whitley Hall and occupying her time when her work obsessed parents weren't home with art, the flute, and most importantly Quidditch. It was sad really. She had grown so accustomed to her time and friends at Hogwarts that her summer would be empty without them.
"Yes, you too Professor. If I don't see you before the end of the term enjoy your summer and see you in September."
She had no idea? Good thing. That meant a good portion of the other students might not, either.
"Because," Jared sat down, resisting the urge to smile at her oh-so-secretive expression. "Something decided it might like to have us for dinner." Sort of. Okay, not really.

GASP.
That woulda been an uber, spectacular, wicked adventure!
But, she understood why he wouldn't linger inside if that was the case. Not with such a big class, at least. She should convince him to take her back. As long as it wasn't an Acromantula that was going to eat them, she'd be good.
Another time, of course.
Yes, yes she could cast the charm, thank you very much. BEAM.
Ellie nodded here and there as Little Professor continued. It all made sense. Animate was harder than inanimate. Humans harder than animals...
Wait.
"I wouldn't go trying it on your cat," Yes, because it was HIS. Even though, she didn't doubt the cat would still follow him around. It would just be hard...not to mention awkward...to cuddle with an invisible cat. And that was almost cruel.
Unless someone used it to make a cruppie tail invisible or something...to get past that even crueler law. Whoever did that would be EPIC in Ellie's mind. Unlike Saylen who goes ahead and severs tails in front of an entire class of kiddies.
Uhh....
Ellie sat paralyzed for a moment while she processed what he just said. That's it. For the year.
Wibble.
She might not have needed to, but she was going to stay to 'practice' the charm more. If it meant more Little Professor time.
Wibble.
But wait.. He was coming back next term? Ellie wanted to ask to make sure that that was what he said. To make sure that those were his intentions. After all, Reyn hadn't mentioned leaving until the final (she grasped her camera), and Dodson hadn't mentioned leaving at all. And Carl...she lied about not leaving. Liar.
She didn't want to believe it, but she didn't want to ask and have him deny it either. So she was just going to sit there. Until he left the area. Maybe she'd help him clean up too.
Yes, even clean.

Okay. So Ellie clearly loved that idea. Something having decided they'd make a delicious dinner.
....
"My cat?" Oh. The kitten. The one that had curled up at his feet and decided to go to sleep. "I should hope so," he said lazily. He'd rather no one made pets - his or their own - invisible, just for the sake of making something invisible.
And now she looked all sad-ish.
"What's wrong?" Jared asked, as the kitten opened its [her?] eyes, streeetchhhed, and leapt on to Ellie's lap.

Ellie gave the kitty a smile, released her camera, and stroked its back. "Nothing," she fibbed (not lied; we don't lie), keeping her gaze on the kitten.

Nod. Nod.
Yes, he'd got that. The larger the target, then the more difficult. That seemed to be Hogwarts motto nowadays. So, it was difficult, but not impossible.
The boy casted 'Finite' on his lantern and watched its invisibility disappear. The class was done, and, truth be told, he didn't mind leaving right now. His Forest quota had been filled and, he kind of wanted to eat something. Probably a delicious desert made by the House-elves. He smiled. "See you, Professor." Yes, he didn't even pause, Treyen took his backpack and started to walk away. He was hungry, okay?

It was... everything was...
... over? The whole year?
Helena's eyes suddenly went wiiiide and she felt... well, sad. REALLY sad. She had so much fun in every class, especially Charms, which was her favourite. But it was all over.
She casted Finite on her lantern, so it would glow back, then glanced over at professor Descoteaux and waited for him to go back to the castle.
The end of the class, already? Aw. It had been sooo fun! And this was also his last Charms lesson for he'd be graduating soon.
"That was great, Professor Jared!" Cedric grinned, truly meaning what he said. His backpack now slung onto his back, Cedric started to walk away. He needed some refreshment.
"Professor, I just have to tell you it's been a great year, and I really appreciate all you've done for us." Benjamin picked up his lantern looked around and started for the castle.
Hehe, mispronounciation on K-Lee's part was me writing a typo
don't blink | you will be upgraded | silence will fall | exterminate
Seeing as she had gotten pronouncing the spell wrong before, K-Lee gave it another shot, this time making sure she had the incantation down pat.
"Disillusiona!" This time her lantern actually disappeared, staying disappeared. She grinned. She knew the spell now so she didn't really have to stick around.
"Bye professor! This has been a really awesome year, thanks!" Now, could she go and find somewhere where she could get cookies?
Walking for the castle after packing her belongings up, she contemplated where the cookies could be. One day she'd have to find the Kitchens.
Luin nodded at the professor and then started to gather up her stuff. She definitely wanted to get back to the dorm and curl up with a good book next to the fireplace. She caught sight of the kitten on her way out and smiled, and quickly waved up at the professor, "Bye, professor." she then headed up to the castle.

Violet of course learned the Charm with no problem at all and of course she loved it! When she heard the Professor tell them to enjoy their summer Violet was completely taken by surprise! Was it the last Charms class? Was she really going to be going into her Second term alread? Come to think about it Violet was rather sad! Violet went up to the Professor and smiled but a little sadness in her tone,"Professor, I would just like to say thank you so much for making Charms more fun for me! I've loved Charms from the beginning but you've made me love it even more if that was even possible! If I have any questions about Charms I'll know who to come to straight away! I hope to see you soon and I hope you take good care of that kitten!" She smiled a little and then added sweetly,"I hope you have a wonderful summer sir!"
Emily smiled as she twirled her lanter in her hands.
This was so sad. It was the end of the beginning! She loved charms! "Thanks for the amazing lessons professor! Charms is deffinatly my favourite subject!" Nothing could bring her down now! "Have a good summer professor!" she grinned, pocketing her wand and looking around for Nika. She didn't want to walk in the dark on her own!

Savannah nodded and tried to remember every tip that the professor mentioned. She slowly gathered her stuff and compacked everything inside. "Good bye professor." Savannah said as she smiled sweetly. "Hope you have a great summer! I will be looking forward to charms next year!" She have to admitt that this class has been the best of the charms class so far. And she will be wanting to more interesting spells like the Disillusional Charm.
The third year took her stuff and strode out in the the trees, heading out to the castle.

Belle loved his lesson. She learned a lot of charms this year, in only her first year. She couldn't wait to come back and learn more next year! "I will see you next year professor! I love charms class." she said modestly. She was kind of sad this was the last charms class, but hey she had her second year to look forward to after all.
