The third Charms lesson is going to take place, as announced, outside the Forbidden Forest. There's a bonfire-of-sorts cackling on the ground, and protective spells have been placed around it, so it cannot hurt anyone or anything. Round it are placed soft, low hay bales to serve as seats.
Jared is seated on one of the hay bales, waiting for the students to arrive. Lying next to him, upside-down, is a kitten that opens its eyes and looks at each student as it arrives.
OOC: The lesson has not yet started. Feel free to RP your characters arriving. Characters talking to each other is fine, as long as it's not over-done.

Interesting.
A snake. A rather pretty snake if she must say. Being a Slytherin herself, snakes were something the Head Girl could stand and watch confortably. A spider, a big hairy black, eight legged spider, THAT she couldn't stand and watch.
The seventeen year old watched as some began to panic and some younger students appeared to speak in some strange language, was that even possible? The young girl crossed her arms across her chest and raised an eyebrow.
Nika let out a scream as her eyes met those of the snake. "EEEEEP SNAKE!" She jumped back. Nika started walking faster.
Jared placed a hand on the first year's shoulder. "It's just a krait, Nika," he said, tones reassuring. "It doesn't attack unless threatened."

"No injuries?" Jared asked, still not reassured. Most minor - and a good number of major - wounds, he could fix if need be. Though he hoped the need wouldn't be.

Hearing someone quicken his or her pace, Jared realized it had to be another student that had been startled by some creature - most likely the dangling snake - before Helena even reached him.
"I was telling Nika just now," he said, his voice calming. "It's a krait. It doesn't attack unless in self-defense."

Impervious. Repello Muggletum. "Are we going to learn those?" Cuz that'd be preetttyyy awesome to know. That and a disillusionment charm.
Oh? They were going even deeper into the Forest. Awesomeee.
Snake! Ellie, actually, for the most part, liked snakes. Or, rather, they didn't bother her as much. So when it hissed at Little Professor's lantern, she hissed back....making sure she was on the far side of Little Professor, of course.
Jared looked down at the kitten. It/ she had stopped peeping out. "I think it doesn't like the snake."
Good thing. He had been starting to think the kitten might be some sort of not kitten.
"Not tonight." He shook his head. "But I'm going to teach the Disillusionment Charm."
....
Jared shrugged. The snake hissed back, before coiling-ish up, and he passed it before the Little Human could get more ideas.
Little Humans are scary.
Okay, maybe not.

Matilda? The boy's pet... spider? Since they were talking about spiders and snakes, and it seemed unlikely that Spike might have the latter in his hair.

Violet then could see both of their lanterns and saw her best friends, arguing about something. As she got closer she heard Selina mention Voldemort?! She reached them and then said,"WHAT IN MERLIN'S NAME ARE YOU TWO DOING?! YOU'RE GETTING SEPARATED FROM THE CLASS?! AND WHY may I ask ARE YOU TWO TALKING ABOUT "YOU KNOW WHO?" It seemed Septimus was not the only student rooted to the spot. Jared glanced at the Baron, quite certain in advance that the Baron would understand the glance and then, raising his lantern, turned to the three students that had not followed the ghost's trail. In the quiet, Violet's shouting echoed far and wide.
"Ladies." He held up his lantern, the light illuminating all three of them. "Please keep your voices down, we don't want to attract unnecessary attention." Pause. "Is there a problem? Selina? Elektra?" His voice was the usual neutral as his green gaze came to a rest on the Slytherin.
"Did you happen to know that not all parsletongues are related to the Gaunts or the great Salazar Slytherin? There are other families out there whom are particular NOT a part of the Slytherin bloodline. There are dozens of magical families out there who can speak parsletongue. We've rolls and rolls of parchment of the diferent families in our order and none of which have anything to do with the Gaunts or Slytherin whatsoever." "So, professor, what is our destination now?"

Jaina glanced at Belle and then back at Ben. She couldn't believe what he just said. He could talk to snakes?!?!? If it weren't for the fact that she was creeped out, she would find that fascinating. She wondered if he could talk to other animals too. That would be so cool. She tightened her grip on his hand to let him know she was starting to feel uncomfortable. It was a small signal that he needed to say someething calm or give her a small clue that they were ok before a black streak popped up. One black streak could lead to many.

Elektra looked at Selina then back at Violet and was about to say something until...Uh...Oh...Elektra looked pass Violet seeing the professor walk towards them and she swallowed spit. Her green eyes gazed back at him and she then looked away and shook her head. "I-I was just looking at the sn-" Elektra stopped mid-sentence and she sighs. "Look it was my fault. I didn't mean to cause any trouble." Elektra said looking down at the ground.
Was she...glaring at him? He'd only been having fun - it wasn't like he actually had a spider or a snake on him.
Not yet, anyway.
Though he was severely tempted. His pockets were nearly full, but he could totally rock a snake round his neck.
"What if I do have her?" he questioned, trying to eye the older girl back. He was currently halfway between a frown and a wibble. Maybe he could only do vaguely 'scary' on the pitch. "She'd never leave me!" He said it almost defiantly. "And anyway, she's in the castle. I think she said something about exploring the girl's dorms. The Ravenclaw ones, I mean."
Ha. He wasn't just the ickle one.
Hang on, 'just kidding'? He looked at her sheepishly. "Same. Me too. She wouldn't go in your dorm. Not on purpose, anyway."

Ellie was really starting to pity Spike. Especially because she noticed that frown/wibble thing. GUILT.
That is until he'd mentioned Matilda exploring the girls' dorms. Then, all trace of emotion left her. Nononononono. Matilda had better NOT be in her dorm...in her bed...in her PILLOWCASE!
Oh. Just kidding?
That was so MEAN, though. Why would he trick her like tha--
Oh wait. That wasn't too far from what she'd done to him, was it? Ellie let out a small laugh and ruffled Spike's Matilda-free hair.
Ellie turned her attention back up at the...hidden kitty. And the Professor. "I think that's a good thing." It could be very bad if the kitty had, like, tried to play with the snake.
GASP.
"YOU'RE GONNA TEACH US HOW TO BE INVISIBLE!!" Ellie fully agreed with Spike. Best. Lesson. Ever.

Violet was about to continue accusing Elektra of lying until she heard a very familiar voice. She turned to see the Professor find them, she felt very relieved but at the same time disappointed, disappointed that she disobeyed the Professor for wandering off and relieved that he found them, but....she felt bad that she was screaming so loud. Violet heard Elektra confess to her wrongs and then Selina immediately agreed blaming it on Elektra, although Violet did want to agree, but she just shut her mouth and gave Selina quick smack on the arm looking at her but then looked back at the Professor smiling.
"I know the destination, but the Baron knows the path," Jared said, grinning and side-stepping the question.
Though come to think of it, he did know a path to their destination. Just not the less dangerous one that the Baron knew.
And that made a lot of difference.

Elektra slowly turned her head towards her friends. The look on Elektra's face was a angry glare. She rarely gave one. Only when she saw professor Vindictus. Ugh but that was besides the point. When the professor gave an unreadable expression to the three of them and Elektra nodded. "Yes, professor." Elektra said and then just walked away without looking at either Selina or Violet.

The Baron gave the Charms Professor an almost imperceptible nod. He remained immobile, luminescence showering the trees, until the man returned. Then he rose higher and began to glide along again. The trees thinned but grew taller, so tall that they became almost terrifying.
He could hear a scratching, scuttling sound behind. Slow but sure. Like something slowly, methodically following them. The Baron frowned. Five or so minutes later they came to a place that contained a stream, dark black and full of even blacker water lilies.
"Stay away from the water," the Baron spoke. His voice was deep, rich and cold. He came to a halt above the black water, silver radiance trickling below and illuminating the dark stream.
Kyle was absolutely giddy at the prospects of the disillusionment charm. She knew she could use that for well devious measures of sneaking around school and jotting notes about what was going on...so she could submit them annonomously to a certain school gossip collumn she loved reading - mainly she loved when they got everything wrong...but Lil Miss. Manning wanted to write she wanted to write like her world depended on it.
She smiled, and kept walking, watching around her, and managing not to trip - yet that is.
Almost as soon as she thought that treacherous thought she lost her footing tripping - knocking her knee into a rock. "Ow," she scathed, standing up and dusting herself off, her hand hitting something slimy.
"ewww," she exclaimed when she found a dried-up and still slightly slimy dead slug on her hand. And not a magical slug a normal rather slimy, and slow, muggle slug.
Kyle heard the Baron's exclamation and looked down at the water right near her. Stay away from it she nodded, taking a step further away and managing not to trip into the pool of treacherous water.
"What is so dangerous about the water?" She asked, intrigued, scared, and just wanting to know so she knew what they would and could possibly be up against.

This was WICKED. Her BEAM returned and she wanted to skip! However, that seemed highly improbable in the Forest...
Especially when they came to water. Water with..black lilies? Those were interesting. But Ellie had heard horror stories (much worse than that fail!story Little Professor had told them) about messing around with water. So, yeah, she was staying far away from THAT.

Kurumi tightened her grip on Patroclus' arm as they continued to walk forward. She was so nervous that she didn't even hear all the commotion going on with all the snake-talk and was more preoccupied with talking to the kitty in her robes and trying to calm it down. Well, the kitty was fine. Sleeping actually. But, had it been awake, Kurumi was sure it would be needing some words of encouragement.
Kurumi stopped when the Bloody Baron spoke and felt an ice cold shiver go down her spine. The lake was hauntingly beautiful and she leaned in just a little to catch a closer peek - but not close enough for that she was in any danger.
"W-W-What's in there?" she asked immediately regretting asking.

Violet listened to the Professor and nodded agreeing right away not arguing at all. As he began to walk Violet immediately began to follow after him as soon as Selina and Elektra had done son. "Let's stop here," he said, a good three feet away from the stream. "No one should step any closer to the stream. Now, this place." Jared paused and looked around, green eyes intent. "Is quite a treacherous one. It's almost as if the ground is full of rocks, roots and other things that cannot be seen."
And? "And it is."
Hence, don't step closer to the stream, or something invisible might trip you and send you sprawling in. And what happens if you fall in? He'd let the Baron answer that. If the Baron chose to.

As Elektra caught up with the class she stopped suddenly watching the Baron and the professor very carefully. She still had that encounter of the snake and with what Selina said stuck in her mind and right now all she wanted to do was to stay away from Selina and just ignore her if Selina had to say anything. She looked at the black stream and she tilted her head to the side and then back to the professor and shrugged. Yeah, Elektra is not that good at Charms. Elektra said to herself under her breath. "Disillusinment?? Sounds like something you need for a shower."

Selina ran to catch up with the rest of the class with Violet at her heals. The two were not exactly in Elektra's good books at the moment, but Elektra would get over it... she hoped.
When she showed up the Baron said the stream was death...
