Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...

Alina paddled around, watching her fellow classmates trying to communicate with one another. Just as she turned her head away from a group of students did she notice a girl waving a... her? She took a quick look around to make sure she wasn't trying to get somebody else's attention, because she didn't like when she waved back at someone and it turned out that they weren't even waving at her, then she returned the wave. She was just about to swim along until she noticed a gringylow grab a hold of the girl's leg.

EEEEP.

She instantly panic -- the Alina Pearl Francis way. The little girl flailed her arms a little bit, causing bubbles to form around her and float up to the surface. Right, none of this was helping at all but WHAT was she suppose to do?! She was only eleven years old, had barely any experience was her wand, and quite honestly, she was scared of that thing. Yet, in the end, she began swimming towards her housemate. There was no way she was going to try and take the time to find her Head of House because who knew how long that girl had before the grindylow dragged her deep into the depths of the lake.

As soon as she got to the girl, she took her barefoot and started kicking it against the top of the grindylow's head.

Take THAT... and THAT AND THAT AND THAT.

Sierra noticed the girl return the wave. It was nice--really, it was. Sierra just couldn't really appreciate it at the moment thanks to the grindylow who'd felt it necessary to attach itself to the bottom of her leg. "Get off me, you idiot creature!" she wanted to yell. She hoped her look just said it all, though. I'm glaring at you, grindylow!

*glare glare glare*

She shook her leg as fast as she could, but the sudden motion didn't seem to bother the creature. Again, it just seemed to make him angry, which in turn made Sierra angrier, as well.

...and then, Sierra was being jerked up and down by some other force that had suddenly come along. What was this--another grindylow?! With a glare stronger than the first one she'd given, Sierra glanced down at her leg. Only, it wasn't a second grindylow that was causing the jerking motion--someone was kicking the grindylow to try and get it off her foot!

Bwah haha! Take that, loser grindylow! She shook her leg to try and help the girl force the grindylow off.

K-Lee noticed grindylows atttach themselves to the others. Eyes wide, she felt long fingers clasp around her leg. In fright she started kicking her leg around, hands hitting at the creature, trying to weaken it enough to pull it away.

Yelping for help, she soon stopped and took a new approach. Pulling at the creatures fingers, she didn't have enough power to remove them. Grasping at one finger at a time, she pulled back in surprise when the finger broke. Yuck. The grindylow felt this and seemed to be in pain.

Smirking slightly, K-Lee kept this up, eventually breaking away the rest of its fingers. Feeling proud to have gotten rid of the grindylow she smiled. Then it disappeared as another two grindylows latched onto her.

Finally after alot of pulling the grindylow had given up and let go of the girl. He nodded his head when the girl turned around with a thank you look and saw something falling from her hands. The girl must not have seen her wand falling out of her grip! He wanted to shout a warning about her wand but he could only watch how the terrified girl swam away to safety.

So, Hyun dove , in to the dark depths of the great lake. It was darker here and colder. He didn't encounter any Grindylow to his luck and soon found the girls wand. He forced his webbed hands and feet to go faster, pushing wildly through the water until his hand grabbed the wand. Phew. He kicked his feet as fast as he could through the water again while pushing up, going to the frozen surface. And towards Alex.

Hyun kicked his webbed feet with all his might until he was by his friend and teammate. He grabbed the grindylow by it's head just like he had done to help the first year and started pulling. Apparentally , the grindylow didn't like the fact it was being pulled away by it's victim and turned it's head around to bite in Hyun's hand. Waaah owowowww. It hurt! but he couldn't let the grindylow drag his friend to the bottom right?! Still with the other girl's wand in his hand, Hyun saw ahead of them how his other team mate, Sierra was getting pulled down too. Waaah! why his teammates?! ok that sounded bad...why did he even THINK about quidditch in this situation?! Luckily, because he couldn't leave Alex alone, another girl helped her by kicking the creature. Hmm..good idea! So, he too started to kick and kick and punch the creature , hoping it would let loose.

Where was a professor when you needed them? and when you didn't need them or didn't want them around , they were all over the place!

Cass, who had now climbed down from the fish, covered her mouth with her hand as she stopped herself from laughing.

Fee was such a mad woman

Cass saw that there were a bunch of Grindylows heading for them so she swam out of the way.

Then she noticed that Caroline had been captured by one of them. So she decided to swim over and help her. She pointed her wand at the sea creature and tried really really hard to cast a non verbal spell "Depulso!"

LFee chuckled at her best friend when she saw her holding back the laughter. tehe. weeellll,, dont look at Fee riding a fish when you were under water. Yuuumy.

... AND THAT AND THAT AND THAT ...

Alina kept kicking her foot against the grindylow, hoping that it would loosen its grip just enough so the other girl could escape. She soon ran out of energy from all the strength it took just to move her feet at a fast rate under all this water. Soon, though, she found out that it had been such a bad idea to stop her kicking for a few seconds because as soon as she did, the grindylow took a nibble on one of her toes. EEP, crazy creature! Toes were NOT meant to be nibbled on!

She gave a little 'hmph', which only caused bubble to come out of her mouth instead of any noise, before she continued on kicking the evil creature. It didn't take too much longer until the redhead noticed that as she kicked the creature, the little girl was being moved up and down from the impact of her foot on the creature that was holding onto her. She gave the girl a quick "This is all I could thing of" look before giving her foot once last whack against the creatures head.

Maybe, just maybe, that had been enough force the remove the creature from the other girl's leg.

Despite the fact that she had a grindylow attached to the end of her leg, Sierra still managed to twist and turn in the water to get to a point where she was facing the red-headed girl. Just as she looked the girl in the face, another kick struck the grindylow, and Sierra jerked quickly down and then popped right back up. She glared at the creature attached to her, making a point to relay the message that even though she was pretty much confined by the idiot grindylow, she still wanted it to know she was seriously angry with it.

This grindylow would pay...once she got away from it, that is.

Turning back to the other girl, Sierra nodded in understanding. She knew the girl was only trying to help, and honestly, if she hadn't come along, what would have happened to Sierra? She didn't have time to think about, because just at that moment, she felt a heavy weight leave her, and she glanced down to see that the girl had finally kicked the creature free. Sierra was ready for revenge now, and so she turned toward the grindylow, and...

...oh, forget it. She valued her leg too much to worry about revenge. Giving the girl a 'let's get out of here' motion with her hand, Sierra kicked her arms and legs and finally swam away from the grindylow.

Alex watched Hyun go crazy on the grindylow and just hung there in its arms watching Hyun kick and pull its head. Easy now Mr. Kim.

After being pulled away from his fish and fought (in vain) against the grindylow, he had kind of given up. He decided on a new tactic, sit it out. Or hang it out was perhaps a better way to put it.

Did he really care that the grindylow's long slimey arms were around his waist?

ZOMG, what was he thinking? Of course he freaking cared!

Sometimes he scared himself even, Alex started to kick aimlessly around and flailing his arms.

Now, let me go you scary grindylow. I don't fancy you. Shoo.

...

Shoo.

Nothing happened. He continued to kick around with closed eyes but opened them when he noticed he had hit something, or someone. Hyun. Um, whoops. Alex gave him an innocent smile while he continued to kick and fight his way out of the tight grip. At last it seemed like the creature was getting tired at getting beaten and reluctantly let go of Alex let's be honest; who would let go of his waist willingly? and gave the two Slytherins death glares before joining its mates.

Alex watched the grindylow take off and punched his two fists in the air.

VICTORY!

Hecate watched with her wand out as the students defended themselves and each other. She didn't intervene, the students seemed to do real well. Finally she shot sparks in the water, and the grindylow all swam away. Hecate gestured to return to the common room and swam in the direction of the hatch.

When a series of sparks shot through the water, Sierra quickly turned herself around to face their Head of House. Oh, she'd just been sending the grindylow away. Finally! That little spark spell, whatever it had been, would have been helpful to know ten minutes ago.

Lafay gestured them to turn back now, though, which Sierra was slightly disappointed in. She loved being down here in the water, but she also knew the effects of the gillyweed would be ending soon. She kicked her feet in the direction of the hatch, reaching it some time later.

Uhh...exactly how was she meant to get up into the common room, hmm? Her eyes flickered away for a second, and then she turned back to the hatch. Grabbing onto the sides of it, she pushed herself up and back into the common room.

Finally after what seemed like ages, the grindylow decided to forget about Alex and him and swam away with the others. A few seconds later he saw sparks coming from beside him. He looked and saw Professor Lafay pointing her wand at the group of grindylow.

Hyun swam together with the others towards the common room, still holding the two wands. That first year girl must really miss her wand by now. He swam closer to the hatch and waited for the girl in front of him to go inside first. Then he too pushed himself up and was back in the common room again.

Hecate swam up to the hatch and pulled herself through. She stood in the common room where the meeting had been held, waiting for the others.
