The third Potions class will open today March 4th and remain open until at least March 6th. Please file into the dungeon classroom quietly, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING and find a place to sit promptly before class begins. I will NOT tolerate tardiness, rudeness or talking once my class has started. Please familiarize yourself with my rules before attending. I don't want any whining about 'I didn't knoooow' or 'please don't take points off' or 'but my nose was not this shape when we started'. So sit down, shut up and pay attention.

Divination Lesson 2 Homework

1. Give a brief definition of what Pyromancy is.

2. Choose one of the subsets of pyromancy we discussed during class (the types, that is) that you find interesting in some way, and write a good-sized paragraph explaining why. (this could be because you find it odd, disgusting, fascinating, whatever piques your interest. And a good-sized paragraph has at least 7-8 sentences.)

Extra credit: Create your own NEW type of pyromancy, and explain how it works. Give it a name, tell me what is used when practicing it, give a symbols list if you like (and if said type would even use one). However, DO NOT actually try and perform it anywhere in the castle, or any points you would get will be null and void.

Due by: March 19, 5 am GMT (that should equate to roughly 9 pm PST, on March 18th. If my math is correct.)

(thread will open at some point earlier, for entrances and so on. depending on when I can set it up. I work until 8 pm, so I can't start it earlier. And I understand it's late for most people. The first part will just be theoretical/discussion, and I'll try to weigh participation toward the later parts for that reason)

Astronomy Extra Credit Assignment

What:
Using your newly cleaned telescope, then visit the observatory a minimum of five times, various times of the night, to try and spot some of the constellations mentioned in class. Note that if you're going after hours, then please obtain permission from Professor Hadley for being out of bed after hours due to class studies Or at least say you've got permission. I won't be terribly picky as long as you do make mention of it ;D

Document your sightings in a journal and perhaps provide illustrations if you desire.

Where: The Observatory

Worth: 20 points; 4 points for each "entry" in the journal.

Due: No later than March 31st, 11:59pm EST, or you risk not getting it marked in time.

Please send your finished works to Professor Hadley and include your Username, Character Name, User ID, and House. Also be sure to title the subject as "Astronomy Assignment".
