Badger Board of Notices

An important thing to keep in mind is the notice board. This is the place where you will find everything and anything you need to navigate your time here at Hogwarts. Be sure to check in often because your fellow housemates will constantly update with classes, quidditch try outs, and any other important school events.

Don't be the last one to know! Keep informed!

Note: Any Hufflepuff may post in this thread, but please remember that this is for official school events only.

Hey! As some of you have already seen, sign ups are open for Quidditch tryouts! They will remain open until January 10th at 8 PM EST (January 11th at 1 AM GMT). I will not consider anyone for the team that doesn't post before this time. If you would like to play Quidditch this term signing up in the thread linked above is an absolute must.

I strongly recommend reading over the Quidditch Rule Book as well. Even if you've played Quidditch in the RP before, you should still do this. The rules have changed slightly from past terms and, besides, it can't hurt to get a refresher.

I hope to see lots of 'puffs signing up. Try out dates are to be determined. If you have any questions regarding Quidditch don't hesitate to shoot me a PM. I don't bite, I promise. :D

badgers should know about this... :xd:

Potions Lesson 1

The first Potions class will open today Tuesday January 11th and remain open until at least Thursday January 13th. Please file into the dungeon classroom quietly, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING and find a place to sit promptly before class begins. I will NOT tolerate tardiness, rudeness or talking once my class has started. Please familiarize yourself with my rules before attending. I don't want any whining about 'I didn't knoooow' or 'please don't take points off' or 'but my nose was not this shape when we started'. So sit down, shut up and pay attention.

You can link to a costume, like so, or explain what your character is wearing - 'She has a lion mask, yellow striped tshirt, orange pants, her fluffy slippers and a tail made of a belt... etc. This is so that Maya can know how you all look, to be able to conduct the lesson to the fullest.

Makeup is a plus, and whatever other accessories you can think of. Points will be awarded for creativity and participation. This class is not a Quidditch match, so no need to stress about answering a question first ; )

Divination Lesson 1 Homework

Pick one question/activity to respond to:

* Significators: We discussed a bit about signifcator cards in the lesson, mostly considering the option of letting the deck select the crad for us. There's another option for selecting a significator card, however. Either choose a card from the existing deck [you can choose to use the Magician for male or High Priestess for female, or select a court card (Page/Knight/Queen/King of any of the four suits) based on any number of possible characteristics) or you can create your own Significator, as if you were creating an entirely new deck. Whichever you choose, tell me what the card is, provide a picture (if you like, and especially if you create something on your own using Paint or another graphics program), and write six inches explaing why you chose that card to represent yourself.

* Readings: Most of you got the chance to do a reading on yourself or a partner in class, but expand your horizons. Go out, in the castle or the grounds, and perform a reading for a classmate or someone at the school. Write at least six inches explaining who you did the reading for, and what your interpretation was. Tarot decks can be borrowed from me if you choose, and don't already have access to one.

Assignments will be due no later than Feb. 6, 9:30 am GMT (two weeks from now), submissions rules explained here. :)

Six inches=a good-sized paragraph. At least five or six sentences. And if you choose to do the second option, send links to an RP of you doing the reading, along with your paragraph.

DADA Lesson 1

When: January 24, 2011 at 6 pm EST

Where: DADA classroom

Why: Because I said so.

What else: Read class rules thoroughly before attending. Late posters will lose house points immediately. Do you really want that on your head?

Transfiguration Lesson #1 Homework

Use the watch you were given in class and go out onto the grounds to continue practising the 'Comletia' spell. Transfigure the watch 5 DIFFERENT TIMES, into 5 DIFFERENT DESIGNS of compass - each more intricate than the last. The more detailed the style, the harder you will have to concentrate.

Worth: 10 points

Due: 7th Feb, no later than 2PM GMT.

OOC: Please make 5 SEPARATE posts and include the links to those posts in the PM you send me. Extra credit will be awarded for creativity. You may describe in detail the compass you have made, and also include links in your posts to an image if you so wish. (but no hotlinking images please)

Please refer to this post for how to submit Transfiguration homework
