And so the subject of schoolwork went to the wayside. It wasn't really so much that he didn't like, or that he didn't dislike schoolwork, but he somehow managed to get wrapped up in distractions sometimes. He'd write an excellent essay, but get ten points docked from it for writing it the day after and handing it in late. That's the sort of situation he'd get himself into, and he irritated himself to no end because of it.

"I'll go by your brother's word for now, and see how I find it tonight." So, that meant she had one sibling at least. "Do you have any other brothers or sisters?" And luckily it seemed that Dr. Seuss wasn't some prominent author that he should have known. A children's author? He studied the cover of the book as she placed it before him. "Do they all have such interesting artwork?" He grinned a bit.

"No problem." He smiled as she flexed the muscles in her arm. "Looks can be deceiving?" He offered, trying to be encouraging, though he ended up laughing instead. Hopefully she didn't find it offensive. "Well, everyone has their strengths. I'm incredibly horrible at team sports.. like quidditch or football. I prefer swimming and such." He eased back a little. "What about you, then?"

Adam nooded his head at what Kurumi had to whisper to him.
"Sorry, Elektra, I don't ever remember seeing you.
And hello Violet...I am a little slow today, please excuse me..."He said. He went over to the other bench and began playing with a little piece of string with Tigger. The cat began chasing after it, digging his little sharp claws into the material.

Injuries were nothing new to Mia, although she seemed to manage not hurt herself seriously. Just little bumps and scrapes. The most harm she had caused herself had been last term when she had had punched Nik in the arm and bruised her hand. "Yeah I don't think the healer would be too impressed."

Pffft...the healer she couldn't seem to look at without getting jealous.

"Oh you too." She said as she followed him inside the compartment and taking a seat, not even thinking that she hadn't exactly been invited. "I have been thinking...no correction...make that stressing about this term. I have to take my OWL's this year." She added with a somewhat nervous voice.

But that nervousness soon disappeard when the guy introduced himself and she gave him a smile. "Nice to meet you Simon. I'm Mia." She leaned back in the seat and noticed the broom up overhead. "Quidditch player huh?"

String! There was string! Walnut's eyes grew big as he crouched into pouncing position. Sheesh, kittens. They ran around like crazy and never actually ended up catching the string. Not Walnut, he was going to be sneaky about it. Ears back, Walnut's eyes followed the string as it moved back and forth. Unable to contain himself anymore, he began to do the butt wiggle in anticipation for his attack.

Tigger saw Walnut do the little butt wiggle, oh no was Walnut going to take away his chance to show himself off to adorable cat loving Kurumi. Suddenly Tigger came out of nowhere and raised his arms paws high in the air, with his little baby teeth and fangs showing...
"Noooooo....."Thought Tigger.

She smiled. Ehh....no one should go by Toby's word. Her big brother got himself into trouble along with others because they took his word for it. She knew other people who went to Hogwarts and they liked the food so she had some trust in him this time. The girl nodded at him. "I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. There's Tobias and my adopted brother Rafael who are older, and Adalia and Charlee who are barely 6 months," she answered, deciding to him him to whole explanation of her siblings. She was oddly stuck there at 14 it seemed. "What about you?" she asked.

Lucie grinned once more and said, "Most of them do. At home we have a whole section in the library dedicated to these books along with other children ones. It's gonna be my little sister's now." She stuffed the book back into her backpack. She remembered being in there for hours upon end as a child, pulling books and looking at pictures. She brushed back falling blonde strands of hair and tucked them behind her ear.

"No, I deserve no trying to make my muscles sound less small as they really are," she giggled, shaking her head. While she listened to him talk about his lack of skills in sports and ones he was good at, she took out her citrus smelling lip gloss and applied it. Mmm...she loved the smell of oranges. "Swimming?" she repeated, her eyes widening as she twisted back on the cap for her lip gloss. Oh lord. She didn't know how to swim. It was a HUGE fear. "Oh I really like running and I'm actually good at Quidditch. I have more hand-eye coordination on the pitch then playing cricket." Eeeep. She had hurt herself trying that.

Selina smiled at the couple. They were sweet to entertain her and her friends even though she knew that she had perhaps intruded. After all she was excited when she heard them talking from the three girls car, which was across the aisle. Noticing the interruption of the couple Selina tried her best to back track her previous blunder. She would talk to the two of them later.

Getting up from her seat Selina replied, "Thank you two for saying hello. We actually were just popping in to say hello. I'll stop by later with Demitri. Enjoy the rest of your train ride."

With that Selina grabbed Violet and Elektra whispering small words like, "Blocking" and "Moment" and "Alone time". She was sure the young couple would much rather be in each other's presence than three excited first years. So she would gladly restore their alone time.

Walking across the aisle she shut Adam and Kurumi's compartment door behind the other two girls. She lead them back into their previous compartment and shut the door when the other two were safely inside.

She turned on her heel to explain, "Adam and Kurumi needed alone time, not some excited first years. Besides this gives us the chance to catch up."

Raven get aboard the train, he manage to carried his trunk and Aguiluz's cage.
Raven wander around the train, he is not bored, in fact he is investigating the train, he also hope to find empty cubicle to sit in.

Four siblings? Wow, big family. "That's quite the age gap," he pointed out, even though she surely knew this. They were cool names, too. He liked them. And she returned the question then. "I have a younger sister, Alexandra. She'll be going into her second year." Though the girl was quite confident for her age.. much more than he had been, that's for sure, for she boarded the train with him, yet insisted on going off with her newly formed friends. "I think I would have liked a brother as well, though.." He mused aloud.

So, this Dr. Seuss seemed to be a well-renowned author in her home. "That's cool.. passing it on to your sister and everything." Perhaps it was like tradition or something of the sort.

Well, thankfully she simply found her arm muscles to be a light topic of conversation and not one she was all that serious about. He lifted his head a little to see what she was retrieving from her bag, and it turned out to be lip gloss. He watched her apply it at first, but then quickly averted his eyes to the scenery outside the window. "Yep, swimming." He enjoyed it tremendously, actually. He repetition, the breathing patterns, the exercise. "I'm guessing you don't share my fancy for it?" Judging by her wide eyes. She liked running, eh? "So do I," he smiled. "Long runs.. not so much sprints." It turned out that she was good at quidditch, unlike himself. More power to her; that game required a lot of focus. "Which position do you prefer?"

Kurumi watched as Selina and her friends left. She hoped it wasn't because of something she had said. Walnut and Tigger were seeming to have a good enough time together that she didn't have to worry about them. She turned to ask Adam some more about his broom when she saw someone wandering the corridor.

"There are seats open in here!" she waved beckoning the boy to come and join them. No sense in spending the entire train ride walking around, right?

Zoe walked through the train, peeking into many different compartments, before finally seeing someone she knew. She slid open the door tentatively. "Selina! Hi!" she said with a smile, sitting down on the bench. "Do you mind if I join you guys?"

Selina fed Hermes, her small baby Tawny owl, a treat and sat him down in his cage to nap. The train was going to be a long ride and she had brought everything she knew she would need. Before she had left her mother had put a expansion charm on her trunk. Therefore everything she had bought in Diagon Alley was safely stored and ready to start the term. Everything including her "small" splurge in the candy shop.

Once Hermes was asleep, she fed Owen, her small pygmy puff. Pulling out a piece of fudge to nibble on Selina heard a voice. She looked up to respond to either Violet or Elektra, but they were deep in conversation. Locating the voice Selina said, "Zoe! Of course take a seat." She moved over some of the space her trunk was taking and stowed it over her head. Making room for Zoe Selina motioned for her to move out of the small space she was sitting.

'How was the rest of your summer?"

Zoe smiled at Selina. "Oh, it was great, thanks. I went to the beach!" she smiled. She tucked her hair behind her ears. "What about you guys?"

Jenny struggled to get through the crowd of people in the corridor. So hard to find a compartment with so many people in the way. Just then, she noticed someone familiar ahead showing another person into a compartment. "Hi Kurumi!" She waved as high as she can over the crowd. Jenny might have grown, but she still wasn't tall enough to look over most people's heads. Hopefully her voice was loud enough.

Raven heard a voice, like this tone is for him, he look around, finding a group of student, he beamed to the girl who look like the one invited him.

"Hello, I'm Raven, may I join you", he said

"Jenny!" Kurumi waved. She thought about standing up, but Walnut had finally settled down and was sleeping on her lap. "There is a seat open next to me!" Thank goodness her cat had fallen asleep on her lap instead of on the seat.


"Be my guest," Kurumi smiled. She really should have unpacked more of her cookies and the ones she did were out of her reach at the moment with her zonked out cat snoring on her lap. "I'm Kurumi and this is Walnut," she said pointing to her munckin cat.

Taylor finally found an empty compartment- "Right, you wait out here a minute so that I can change" she laughed- shutting the door on Draven and then closing the blinds, sticking her tongue out at Draven as she did- she quickly pulled on her uniform- maybe hitching up the skirt a bit too high, but oh well! She pulled back her curls into a green ribbon and then pulled up the blinds before opening the door. "You can come in now, Draven" she giggled, before going to sit down, and picking up some muggle gossip magazine she'd bought on the way- she chewed on some bubblegum as she flicked through the mag and smiled over at Draven.

"Yeah, this is it. The great Hogwarts Express!" she said, looking round- she guessed it was kinda nice.... it was just kinda.... old. Not that everything at Hogwarts wasn't old though.

Raven notice the lady ahead of him, she is maybe heading to the compartment he wanna sit it. "it's okay for me, the more the merrier", he think

"It's nice to meet you, Raven," she smiled. "That's a very cute owl." Kurumi was even more grateful that Walnut was asleep right now. Him around other cats could be touchy, but she had no idea what he would do with an owl. "Are you new?" Sheesh Kurumi, way to be direct. Sometimes, Kurumi's naive nature could really get the best of her.

"Coming!" Jenny yelled over as she struggled to get though the crowd of people. Finally reaching the compartment, she immediately sat down on the seat Kurumi offered. "Whew! Those crowds sure can be a pain in the neck!"

Jenny suddenly noticed that another person just came into the compartment too. Immediately Jenny stood up. "Hello." She nodded to the boy who just came in. Jenny looked around, trying to see if there were any seats left in the compartment. "There is enough room for two more here, right?" she asked Kurumi.

"yeah, I'll start as first year" Raven sincerely answered Kurumi
"and you are" Raven back question

"yes, miss, enough for us" Raven answered even the question isn't for him, beaming to the new Lady

The one thing Kim disliked each term wasn't the exams but the train ride because he always had a very difficult time finding a seat. With a deep sigh he walked up and down the train looking for a place to see but it seemed like every cabin was in use.

Kim was getting a little upset he keep thinking he might not have a seat to sit in, well this had happened before so he was already to give up.

"Of course there is," Kurumi smiled patting the seat next to her. Surprisingly, these compartments of the train were spacious, which was a very good thing considering Hogwarts had almost eight thousand students in attendance.

Well, at least she had been right. She really needed to think before she spoke. "Welcome to Hogwarts! Well, not yet since we are still on the train...so I guess I should be saying welcome to the Hogwarts Express...I'm a second year," she replied timidly. She certainly didn't look it and she wasn't sure she really felt like a second year. Her and Heather were probably still going to get lost on the way to the Gryffindor common room. "I'm in Gryffindor and Jenny is in Ravenclaw. What house are you hoping to be sorted into?"


And Kurumi felt even smaller at the appearance of the older student who had entered the compartment with a rather frustrated look on his face. Good thing there was still room in this one. He looked like he really needed a cookie. "H-H-H-Hello," Kurumi smiled trying not to disturb her cat too much as she reached for a small blue box that held some pumpkin cookies she had baked.

"Would anyone like a cookie?" she asked to everyone in the cabin. "I baked them myself. They are pumpkin cookies with just a dash of cinnamon." She probably should just say they were pumpkin pie cookies because that is essentially what they tasted like.

Cloningish. Anyone?
 

As they were nearing the castle, Ellie really needed to be moving around. She just couldn't sit. Not for so long and not with these thoughts flooding her head. She found her way to the back of the train and tried to look into each compartment. She needed to talk to someone. Familiar or not.
