Having spent the last day rearranging the chairs back into traditional rows format, Professor Hadley was sitting perched in a CHAIR this time behind the large desk at the front. What was usual about the way she was sitting was the fact that she still had a book in front of her, flipping a page every moment or so.
In the front corner of the classroom, you might notice Hadley's puppy, Baisley, who's busy gnawing at a bone. But please, don't be afraid, he's harmless unless you make him angry.
Every so often, Fina will glance up from her page she was reading and smile warmly as you take your seats. "Please take out your notebooks and a quill and just relax." She said casually.

Nika scriblled some more in her notebook as her teacher talked. She really hated the subject with a passion. Maths. She thought she had gotten rid of it after getting her Hogwarts letter. Nope, Arithmancy was full of it. Nika took her parchment and started to work on her calculations. She stuck her tongue out and wrote as fast as she could. Finally when she was finished she stared at it with confusion. She looked down at her parchment once more and just stared vacantly.

Calculations?! For the next thirty minutes?!
As a slight frown formed on her face, Sierra rummaged through her bag for an extra piece of parchment. Apparently, she was going to need it--what with all the nine thousand calculations they were just assigned. ...and here she was thinking she was all done with final exams and had absolutely nothing left to do but relax. Well, she was done with final exams, yes--but all these calculations definitely didn't fit her description of relaxation.
Nevertheless, she dipped her quill in ink and began with her Life Path Number.

And...since this was the first time he'd done those calculations he COMPLETELY DISAGREED on the textbook description for the Personality Number. It just wasn't him. AND...he owed something in there as well. "Yeah, Professor Hadley!" he called, a bit loudly, by the way, "I...is my calculation right?" he was trying to ask whether HIS number was right, or if the textbook was wrong all along.
Plus, the karmic stuff said that said 14 number had something to do with, and we quote, "Remedying karmic abuse of responsibility and love through spiritual rebirth". Blink. What was THAT supposed to mean?
ACTUALLY, what had the 10 description had to do with good karma, anyway? "Renewal rebirth, karmic completion, mastery, beginning again with consciousness". He was lost in there as well.
His Arithmancy skills had flew out the window. If he ever had any, that is.
Of course, he grinned at those two Good Karma stuff, and then noticed a change in Kurumi's mood. The boy couldn't help but glance at her parchment. Well, Treyen took the liberty of taking Kurumi's textbook and closed it. "Who cares what the book says, right? You're awesome at being Kurumi." Wink.
Kurumi looked up from her parchment and smiled at Treyen. "So...middle names were created for the purpose of making parents and grandparents sound intimidating when they lecture their children?"
She had to laugh about that one. No wonder her father never seemed scary when he raised his voice. Then again, she always attributed that to her brothers snickering in the background and her oldest brother coming up with somesort of witty comment that made them all burst into fits of laughter. Her mother, well, she didn't need a middle name to sound scary. All she had to do was removing the -chan from saying her first name and Kurumi knew her mother was angry.
"I sometimes wish I had a middle name," she shrugged checking her calculations again. "I suppose all these calculations would come out much different if I had one. Maybe I would actually have some good karma instead of all this karmic debt..."
Kurumi leaned over a bit when she heard Treyen was done. Looked like it wasn't only his smile that was sparkling...he had two areas of positive karma.
"Is there anything about you that isn't perfe----," but her speech was cut off when he spoke again. Her cheeks instantly flushed and she turned her head away with the excuse that his smile would blind her if she looked at it for too long.

Go figure. This was probably one of the few times he actually saw Kurumi smile, since she was always blushing and all, and she had the most adorable smile ever. Not the same kind of smile like HIS, but it was a nice one.
And then he laughed, softly, since Hadley was probably listening, "That's what I think, but I believe your theory to be on the right track." At least it made more sense.
Was it quite possible that Kurumi wanted the middle name just to blend in? He found it completely interesting that she didn't have one, yet he knew it wasn't mandatory for everyone to do so. She still had an unusual name. Unusual to British standards, that is. She was meant to stand out, no? "Makes sense," IF she wanted to blend in, "I wouldn't say I wish I didn't have one, I only wish it wasn't as long." Because, SERIOUSLY, Kurumi look at all his calculations! It was a very long name.
Then she mentioned that karmic debt stuff, which he still didn't understand, and instantly knew that was what was bothering her. It had to be. "Kurumi, you have to remember these are just numbers, we don't have to let them rule our life...we may get an idea from them, but nothing more. So, pay little attention to it." He smiled again, hoping that Hadley wouldn't mention his 'these are just numbers' speech, because this wasn't the first time he'd said it in her presence. "Also, just think about them as experiences you haven't had." Simpler said than done.
Er, say what?
He failed to notice Kurumi taking a peek at his parchment, and then she failed to complete her question, "Isn't what?" and then...she was looking away, blushing. How incredibly adorable.
"I'm not lying, you know." About what he said about her. Just in case.
As Professor Hadley's calculations appeared onto the board, Patroclus was awoken from his daydreams of perfectness, and was pleased to see that he understood what was going on.....which for Arithmancy was a bit of a change!

It was a long way to go, after all. However once he had his hands on his parchment, the boy froze when he heard what Hadley had said.
Twenty-seven points taken? Vandalising? Groaning out loudly, Josh eyed the masterpiece he created. Eh. He saw nothing wrong with it. It looked good on it after all. But he knew why that had happened. It was obvious. It was almost the end of the term and this was like the last class he was attending yet those professors still loved and kept taking points from him. This was a pleasure for them, apparently.

Eh. She did deserve that. Yeah, she did. Anyway. Time to get calculating now.

Well, she definitely didn't like how this was starting out. Her very first number was a karmic debt number. Moving on though she was happy to see that the next three numbers were debt free. Then she got to the birthday number and she wrinkled her nose. Well this sucked. Her birthday is the thirteenth so does that make it a karmic debt or does she go by the number 4? She quickly figured the last one and gee it too was a debt number. That meant she had three karmic debts. Not liking that she raised her hand. "Professor Hadley. Do I have to consider my birthday number as karmic debt? You know since it is the reduced sum of the digits of my birthdate, not actually the date." If she didn't then that meant she only had two karmic debt numbers to go along with her three missing karmic lesson numbers and not having any good karma.

OWWW! "Cramp!" Jacob dropped the quill, and started massaging his hand. Stupid quill, Making Jacobs hand cramp.
Jacob check over his calculations four time... hopefully he didn't miss any. Then he stared at his darkened parts of his paper. The Karmic Debt. "Professor." He called to the woman. "In my Heart's Desire Number, It says that 19 is a Karmic Debt, but It simplifies to 10, which is Good Karma. So Which Is It?"

"And then on your Personality number, you missed the 'S' or '1' in the Ellouise component. So that number should be 22, or four."
As for the karmic debt numbers in your life path and destiny number... "It depends on what the number is, but according to chapter fourteen of your text, you'll see that karmic debts are accumulated related to abuse and selfishness in love, power, work, or freedom in the past. Your particular numbers are 10, which means that a karmic debt has been paid and you're now free to begin again. Which I suppose is characteristic of you graduating this year. You're off to start a whole new life outside of Hogwarts. Rebirth is ten. It is completion and beginnings."

ACTUALLY, what had the 10 description had to do with good karma, anyway? "Renewal rebirth, karmic completion, mastery, beginning again with consciousness". He was lost in there as well.
His Arithmancy skills had flew out the window. If he ever had any, that is.
Of course, he grinned at those two Good Karma stuff, and then noticed a change in Kurumi's mood. The boy couldn't help but glance at her parchment. Well, Treyen took the liberty of taking Kurumi's textbook and closed it. "Who cares what the book says, right? You're awesome at being Kurumi." Wink.
"Yes, Treyen?" She said, hurrying toward his desk as he asked her to look over his work. "Looks correct. Is there a reason it shouldn't be?" Surely between him and Kurumi,they seemed to be figuring things out just fine. Right?

Which has totally different meaning. "No, karmic debts are not bad, but just related to selfish abuse in a variety of different areas of life. In your case, it seems mostly freedom and work." In simplistic terms at least.

Oh, hey! That one little correction she had to do wiped out any and all instances of Karmic Debt! Smiling to herself, Sierra quickly jotted down an interpretation for her Expression/Destiny Number, which was the only one she ended up having good karma in.
A number one for an Expression/Destiny Number means that a person's mission in life is to become a leader. Those with a number one are meant to take charge in situations and be strong individuals.
Before I reduced to the number one, though, I had the number 10, which indicates good karma. It shows that some sort of karmic debt has been paid, and you have an opportunity to start anew. I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to use my leadership skills to start, though. I'm only twelve-years-old, for Merlin's sake! Although, now that I think about it, this might have something to do with family splitting up and the fact that I've moved in with my father. Maybe this is a time when I'll need to grow up a little and help my father (and myself) learn to live without Alex and Mom. The number 10 in this whole Karma thing has a meaning for starting over if we want, apparently, and given the fact that my Heart's Desire Number is a number 1, then the leadership part between both numbers is there. I, however, don't agree in the whole 'staying away from teams' part, which is why I believe that the Good Karma started a while back, because I have changed in 'said' matter. However, I think I still have to be brave enough to learn how to take orders from others Saylen. That's something I should work on so I don't end up having a Karmic Debt in here.

It also makes sense that I have struggled with both in the past since I know for fact that there have been two events that put my love towards certain family members to test. And it wasn't until recently that I considered other people's feelings. It seems this Karmic Debt will be paid somehow. But at least I know that I was working on it without realizing what I was doing. Now, it all makes sense. Especially the fact that I don't consider myself to be a 7.
The key to it is not commit the same fault as someone close to me and remain humble about everything that happens in my life, right?
About the Birthday Number.
I guess this is a test, because number 1s are too an independent person, so, the trick in this is how to keep the leadership part at bay without wanting to gain full control over everything. Delegating might be the key.

Oh, hey! That one little correction she had to do wiped out any and all instances of Karmic Debt! Smiling to herself, Sierra quickly jotted down an interpretation for her Expression/Destiny Number, which was the only one she ended up having good karma in.
A number one for an Expression/Destiny Number means that a person's mission in life is to become a leader. Those with a number one are meant to take charge in situations and be strong individuals.

Professor Hadley frowned again as Sierra almost did her work correctly. But she forgot one minor thing! To add up each component together. "You forgot to add the three names together and reduce, Miss Greingoth. Which means you should result in another 10 as your heart's desire number as well." She said pointedly, as she read over the girl's interpretation. "Nicely said. Good job." Minus a few minor tweaks with the girl and her calculations, she seemed to have the interpretation part down good.

Of course the exact textbook interpretations wouldn't apply directly to you, Treyen. The book wasn't written for you. Perhaps Sierra could help you understand that.

Hearing the Gryffindor Prefect's questioning voice, Professor Hadley strode over by him and read over what he wrote down. And shook her head. "It doesn't mean that you are self-centered, but perhaps just that your actions and experiences have been more about for your benefit than others." Hmm.. "Just that you need to make sure some of your actions that you do... are for others as well." Hopefully that help put the boy at ease that he wasn't a bad person.

Glancing down to her notebook, Evelyn SCOWLED down at the numbers. Hmmm, her middle name. The numbers and the letter R...it messed her up. o_O! Somehow. "Oh."
Narrowing her eyes, the Slytherin girl picked up her quill and crossed out the number nine until it was one big black dot on her page. And then...and then fixed her calculation- Gah! She was too tired to do this today. And the second reduction method she used didn't count. Well good! She didn't want anymore karmic debts on her page. Or in her life.
