Arithmancy Three: Karmic Lessons & Debts Having spent the last day rearranging the chairs back into traditional rows format, Professor Hadley was sitting perched in a CHAIR this time behind the large desk at the front. What was usual about the way she was sitting was the fact that she still had a book in front of her, flipping a page every moment or so. In the front corner of the classroom, you might notice Hadley's puppy, Baisley, who's busy gnawing at a bone. But please, don't be afraid, he's harmless Every so often, Fina will glance up from her page she was reading and smile warmly as you take your seats. "Please take out your notebooks and a quill and just relax." She said casually. Lesson has begun. Please pretend as though you've been here the whole time if you didn't get to RP entering <33 Calculating your karmic lessons Karmic Debt Calculations for Class Activity |
Samira walked into the Arithmancy classroom in a relatively good mood. She smiled brightly at the Professor as she strolled in. "Hello, Professor!" she chirped. Samira let out a small gasp when she spotted the cutest puppy she had ever seen in her life. "Cute puppy!" she gushed, but did not move forward to touch the animal. Samira didn't like other people touching her stuff, so she wasn't sure how Professor Hadley would react to her walking up and touching her dog. She then did as instructed and leaned back in her seat. |
Selina ran into Arithmancy with her red hair all askew. She had come all of the way from the Dungeons and was terrified she was going to be late. The last thing she wanted was for Professor Hadely to think poorly of her. "I'M HERE!" Selina yelled out of breath as she ran into the classroom. She looked around and only saw a few other students sitting. She was early. Selina could have screamed. Her run from the Dungeons was completely a waist. Walking out-of-breath to the Professor she said, "Hello Professor." With that she took her seat and took out her notebook and phoenix quill still fuming from her foul up. |
Nika walked into the classroom with the usual smile on her face. She was determined to do better in this lesson because last lesson she was terrible. She walked up to her professor with a skip in her step, "Hello Professor-" Nika's eyes traveled down and saw that she was reading. Oops. Nika's eyes flickered to the corner of the room where they met the eyes of a small dog. "Aww Professor is that your puppy?" *Slap in face* She is reading remember!?! |
Emily entered the Arithmancy classroom, cheery and bright and ready for another lesson. "Hello cute puppy", she cooed as she bent down to rub its tummy. It was adorable, very friendly puppy. "Hello Professor Hadley", she greeted as she made her way to her seat, looking back occasionally at the adorableness. What was with all the Professors having puppies??? Once Emily was seated she pulled out her text book, parchment and quill. |
Rae made her way through the classroom with a simple smile to the professor, then found a seat all on her lonesome.. Well... Someone was bound to sit there sooner or later. Today, she actually did as she was told, for she had no reason in her mind to do anything else, and she wasn't feeling particularly lazy today either so... Yeah, we'll play nice. After setting everything she needing on the desktop in front of her she waited for the others and for further instructions. |
Lucy entered the class and smiled at the professor as she came in and then looked at the puppy busy gnawing at the bone. She wanted to touch him, she t be on a safer side she decided not to. She looked at the professor and said "Hey Professor, how're you?" she said and looked at the puppy "Your puppy is very cute" saying that she smiled. |
Kurumi made her way into the classroom and was just about to take her seat when she noticeda PUPPY! She was glad that she had made Walnut stay behind in the Gryffindor common room - there was no need for there to be a repeat of Care of Magical Creatures. Walking over to the puppy, Kurumi reached into her pockets for some of the tuna fish cookies she always carried - but usually fed to her cat. "Hello," she said addressing the crup first before looking up at Professor Hadley. "Good day Professor. Would it be alright if I gave your crup a cookie? They are made from all natural tuna fish." |
Hmmm...Evelyn almost didn't make it to class since, well she was busy, but she was there finally. If it would have started before she arrived then...well she would have went to go sleep instead. Who knows how numbers and her brain will work at the moment. "Good day, Professor Hadley." she mumbled, rubbing her eyes as she walked by to a seat...in the back. Near Rae that is. Or maybe a few seats over? She didn't want to count. Or think. Too sleepy today. |
Now back to Arithmacy, a class he enjoyed and was good in not that that statement didn't apply to other subjects at times especially DADA. It was just that Simon seemed to have gotten familiar with the subject of numbers. Reaching the classroom, he stepped inside with his bag of books and such over his shoulder, the room that greeted him was the one that traditionally graced the second floor of the castle. "Good day professor," he greeted with a smile, noting the dog but not thinking much of the animal as he made his way to a seat. Once settled, he took out his notebook and quill to await the beginning of class. |
"Hii Professor Hadley,"Ellie said as she walked in and noticed the PUPPY! She usually noticed these things. Unless she was specifically avoiding them. Which only happened once in her life that she could remember. SMILES for the puppy! She sat down center-ish and took out her notebook and quill. HOPEFULLY she'll be able to do today's lesson. This had been a good term for her Arithmancy-wise. Why change it? |
Luin walked into the class and found a seat in the front of the class. She pulled out her quill and parchment and looked up towards the professor, "Hello Professor, good day." she then smiled over at the puppy, it was so adorable. She twirled her quill in her hand as she waited for more students to arrive so the class would start. |
Ariana walked into the classroom, taking in everything about it. "Hello, Professor," she said, and then sat herself down in the first row, taking out her textbook, notebook, and a quill, ready and excited for the lesson to begin. |
Emily's opinion of this class had changed a lot over the term. From being worried, to be sceptical, to really enjoying it! It had now turned into her second favourite lesson! "Good day Professor!" she said happily, as she sat down. Hopefully this would be another good lesson. |
Savannah walked into the arithmancy room with a few little skips. "Hello professor." She greeted politely. It is usual for Savannah to impress adults-expecially professors. She took a seat and took out her notebook and quill and waited for class to start. Savannah looked around the room-A PUPPY!!??!!?? Oh! What a littleprettycutepuppysocutesocutesocuutesocuuute!! !! |
Ah. Arithmancy. This is what he had to do to get out of Gobstones, no? But then again, Hadley and himself shared the same birthday month, and she'd studied with Nolan, and Treyen enjoyed Italy quite a lot. Plenty of reasons to be friends with this one, no? Unlike with Saylen. That's why the boy entered rather happily (or happier than usual) to the lesson, and walked towards her table with one of the chairs from the students desks, "Hey there, Professor Hadley," he said, sitting down in said chair and eying the book, his back to the board, of course, and there was no way he could guess the title from where he was sitting, "What is it that you read?" he asked, his eyes flickering between Hadley and the book. It was okay to ask, no? And the chair...well...it wasn't as if she'd spent the whole day rearranging the classroom, right? |
Strolling into the class, Patroclus was the picture of freshness! The change in the seasons had enlivened him! He no longer felt constantly tired, or lethargic, but well rested and full of life! "Top of the Morning to you, Professor Hadley!" He beamed as he waltzed past her, and sat in the seat that was vacant next to Evelyn, "And how are you little Miss She-Snake?" Yep, he was in very high spirits! |
Sierra's eyes narrowed in annoyance as she walked through the classroom door. Of course she just had to end up behind Patroclus Hudson, who seemed as chipper as a sparrow as he joined the class. Sierra, however, wasn't quite as lively. She didn't enjoy Arithmancy as much as she did the other, more magical (in her opinion) subjects. So why was she here, then? She wasn't exactly sure, but maybe it had something to do with the fact that classroom appearances usually equaled house points. She slid quietly into an empty desk and took out her notebook and quill. Relaxing sounded nice. Then again, so did sleeping. |

While she didn't mind Patroclus's presence, in fact he was more then welcome to sit by her, it was just he fact that he called her...little. Little? She wasn't...little. Hmph. Staring at him for a moment, she finally broke into a smile before replying. "I've been fine." she said, taking out her notebook and quill. Hmm. Well, yea, she was fine. "And you?" Opening to a new page in her notebook, she place the date in the upper corner before glancing back to the happy Lemur boy. Hehe, like she needed to ask how he was. |

"Hello Miss Spinks. Thank you." Cute, but a pain sometimes no doubts there. Quote:

Brave soul, reaching to pet the puppy. Professor Hadley watched to make sure the dog wouldn't somehow think her to be a threat and bite her. But no, it seemed Baisley LIKED the tummy rub. Baisley dropped his bone and licked the girl's nose before turning over on his back so the girl could get a better reach of his tummy. "Hello Miss Browne," Professor Hadley nodded at the girl, before flicking her gaze back toward the puppy. "Uh oh... I think you spoiled him with that quick tummy rub. He wants more." Dogs; you give them a little love and they want more. Quote:

Taking notice of the two Slytherin girls toward the back of the classroom, Professor Hadley sent a brief smile in their direction. You know, just to let them know she saw them. Why did Evelyn look so tired? Was she not getting any sleepy? Didn't she hear that her OWLs were canceled? Oh ... well actually, maybe that was WHY she wasn't getting sleep. Hmm . . . Quote:

But she didn't get a chance to finish, because Baisley seemed to hear the word cookie and stood up on all fours going over to the Japanese girl and sniffing the air, his tongue lolling around. "Yes.. That will be fine, dear," Hadley smiled at the girl. Quote:

Oh Treyen. Seriously. "Mister Lockhart. While I do appreciate the company up here, please return to your seat. In the front row, if you like... But you will need to be at your own desk," Professor Hadley said sternly. Oh he asked her a question. "Just a book about ... numbers and romance. Not one you'd likely be interested in reading sometime." Perhaps in a few years though, but doubtful. "Now. Return to your seat." Quote:
"Morning to you as well, Prefect Hudson. I see you're quite well rested there!" Or was it the fact of Borr's little announcement that put him better spirits? Because clearly the boy was present and would have heard. Quote:
Giving a brief smile toward the young first year, Professor Hadley looked around at the students present. "I think, given the freshness of the air outside, we'll wait a few more moments for some of the last minute stragglers to come in." She said, as she walked over toward the window and cracked it open slightly. It was rather pleasant out. ooc: Yea. Things totally didn't go my way yesterday on my day off. And as I'm unusually working tomorrow morning at 9 (in addition to my usual Sat night shift), I shall be OFFICIALLY starting this lesson tomorrow evening ... Sometime around 7ish EST (GMT-4). Sorry about that <33 |
Riley entered the Arithmany classroom with a bounce in his step he had just had a really good meal and was completely finished with all of his homework which was a miracle in its self. The gryffindor walked through the open door and was hit with a light breeze of fresh hair that was coming in through the open window. It felt nice. As he walked across the room and waved at the |

She probably should go find herself a seat...but the cruppy was just too cute! |
Vashti was SURE she was late. Why on earth the Arithmancy classroom had to be five levels down from the Ravenclaw common room was beyond her and if he was around, Vashti would be giving a serious talking-to to the person who designed the castle like this. Everything would be SO much easier if there weren't fifty floors and a million staircases (that MOVED) to run down. Exaggeration, yes, but she was exhausted by the time she actually reached the classroom... ...to find that the lesson hadn't started. Uh...Yay? She'd just run down a billion stairs for nothing. But still - yay for not being late, right? "Hi, Professor," she managed to get out as she tried to catch her breath. It was then that she noticed the puppy. AWWWW. How cute! She grinned at the adorable little creature before plopping down in the nearest seat in the front. Meh, now she felt like taking a nap... |

She did appreciate the company. That was all that mattered, no? But Hadley had forgotten to take notice of one MAJOR thing. This was his seat. So, he was seating in his chair, just not his place. OH...and now she mentioned the desk. "But I like it here." He smiled. And...huh? Numbers and romance? He made a face. Treyen still had no idea what he was doing taking up Arithmancy, and reading about romance? Er, yeah, numbers and romance must NOT be a good combination. "I see. Yeah, I don't think so either." True. The boy stood up right at that second, "Will do." Even if he didn't feel like returning the chair to its proper place, he still did that because....what if Hadley made him read that stuff??? Yeah, no thank you. So, he sat. On the desk that he'd taken that chair out. First row, Hadley. ;) |

Uh-oh? really? was it uh-oh worthy?.... no it wasn't the adorable puppy enjoyed her company but wasn't too phased when she moved to take her seat at her desk. Hhhmmm now Emily wanted a puppy :-| |
