quick post 'cause I'm SO. TIRED. >_< Quote:
BUT they had to. When they were told to, Jake got up and made his way to the front, looking for what he considered to be the BEST stick... even though they were all pretty much the same. Once he'd selected them, Jake sat and looked around. Just... you know. To get ideas. |
Satine had to control herself from jumping up and running to the front of the classroom to grab a stick...a. that might have been dangerous...you know running...sharp ended objects and all...b. she didn't want to look tooooo eager. She was just soooo excited about playing a muggleish game and being able to decorate her stick. She stood up..very controlled by not rigid...and headed to the front. She grabbed a blue stick and then headed back to her desk trying as hard as she could not to skip...that sharp object thing again. She sat back down and flicked her right wrist and her wand shot into her right hand. She flipped through her notes looking for the right number. |
Arts and crafts in arithmancy? Not exactly what she had been expecting from the class, but at least it was something she understood and wasn't all that difficult. Actually, she didn't know what she preferred. Something challenging to do or, this. Waiting for a few people to get their stick first, Evelyn reluctantly got up and went over to the box, pulling out a random stick without even looking at it before going back to her seat. Hmm just as she suspected. It's colors were boring! Pfft, that could be changed easily enough. However, it was choosing the number that she had to be more careful on. It couldn't be just any number! Actually, she had no idea which to choose. Huh. Pulling out her book, she started to flip through the pages, reading up on each number a few times before going onto the next, carefully considering each. |
Satine finally found the perfect number...her personality number...she read through her calculations and her explanation. Text Cut: Personality # Calculation and Explanation She glanced at her stick and placed it in the middle of her desk. She flicked her wrist in a circular motion and using a color changing charm changed her blue stick into a purple stick. With one more twisty flick, black stripes appeared on the now dark purple stick. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at it knowing that it was missing something...SPARKLES...yes sparkles to match her personality. She flicked her wand up and down quickly in little motions and sparkles covered the whole stick. She shook her head and then glanced over at her notes. She whispered a charm and slowly the number 5 was written in light purple ink at the top of her purple stick. And with a flick and then writing the word in the air, "Personality #" was written below it to match. She picked up the purple stick and held it up in the air letting the light sparkle off of it. She nodded her head in approval and then placed the stick back down on her desk. She began flipping through her notebook reviewing herself on her calculations from former years. SPOILER!!: Sparkly Purple Stick-Personality #5 |
Emily watched people got up to get their sticks. Hogwarts had such strange lessons! Nothing like muggle schools... She quickly closed her eyes, kind of like she was in pain. 'No, don't go there' she told herself. Once most people had left the box, Emily got up for a stick, went back to her desk and took out her wand. It was just a normal stick at the moment. But not for long! She flicked her wrist and performed a colour-change charm to make it red. Yep, nice and red, her favourite colour. Although it did look like someone had been stabbed with it. She smiled to herself, then started to flick through her text book. 'A number that reprsents me' she thought, turning the pages. |
Jaina timidly went up and got a stick. She turned it this way and that way looking for the design in her head before she began to work on it. "Professor, what kind of numbers do we calculate? Can we just pick one that we like between 1 and 9?" she hoped this would be ok because she didn't know how to calculate anything at all, but the number 2 seemed like a nice one and stood for something that she wanted. |

Lexie sat down in her seat and stared at the stick she was holding. Path number, destiny number, core numbers... What are they? Why do I get the feeling that this class is a little too advanced for first-years like me? She frowned and raised her hand. "Professor, I do not understand what sort of numbers I am supposed to deal with. Could you help me?" she asked timidly. |
So...basically they were just handcrafting? -_-' That was so girly Hyun looked from left to right when the other students had gotten up from their seats and walked to the front of the class to grab a stick. Hyun sighed deeply before pushing himself off his chair and walked to the box too. Reaching down to grab a red one, because he loved the colour.. Hyun walked back to his seat and layed it on his desk. Sooo..what now? which number should he choose? He flipped open his textbook and started to look for an interesting one. |
Listening to the class members that seemed to have some clue as to what the professor was talking about, Simon took down notes on the similiarites . And when Professor Hadley confirmed that they were in fact correct in their knowledge of the topic, he added the rest including the number meanings to make sure he had them down even if they were somewhere else in his previous terms notes. Decorate them in a number that means something to you. Hmm he could do that, the sixth year getting up from his own seat as a few of his classmates took the initiative themselves. Picking a stick from the set, Simon returned to his seat and flipped through his arithmacy papers to find where all his numbers had been calculated previous years to try and decide just what to do with his project. |
With her head on one hand, Emily flicked through her book with the other. She had come to the chapter on The Heart’s Desire/Soul Urge Number. 'That could be... interesting' she thought. Oh no, it envolved maths! Well she might as well try. She opened her journal again to write what she had to do. Text Cut: Calculations and hearts desire number 'Well that was fun' she thought turning the page to see what her heart's desire was. Text Cut: What my hearts desire number means Wow. Mabye their was something to this after all. All of that was totally true. Especially the criticism bit! And, yeah, now she thought about it, she did always seem to forget about herself. She had been put down all her life, so she had even believed it herself. 'Again, don't go there Emily' she told herself She wanted to finish reading the rest of the chapter before she continued. |
After having looked up his personal numbers, Hyun had decided to use his destiny number. It was always cool to know your destiny right? He grabbed a piece of paper and a quill , dipped it in the ink and started to write. SPOILER!!: Destiny number Soooo his destiny number was 7? He had no idea what it meant so he opened his book on the right page again and started to read it carefully. SPOILER!!: explaination destiny number It sounded like a good number to him. He picked the stick up and started to stylish it up with his destiny number on it. SPOILER!!: Stick of destiny After some time he was finished and carefully layed the stick on his desk. He leaned back in his chair and raised his hand in the air. "Professor? have i done this right?" he asked, not sure about himself. |
SPOILER!!: Personality number calculations Choosing the personality number since he seemed to remember it being one of his close calls, Simon redid the calculations with the correct process involved. It wasn't too hard to do seeing as he had done it at least once before. Ok a six that would mean... Quote:

While she waited a bit for a few of her classmates to grab a stick for themselves, Vashti began flipping through her past notes and her textbook, wondering what number she ought to use. Personality? Life Path? Personal Year? She wasn't sure yet, on the number or design. But maybe - hopefully - once she found the right number the design would just come to her. When she glanced up, she figured it was time to grab her own stick, and so she did so, setting it on her desk as she sat down once more and continued to scan her notes. |

Luin got up and waited for a few other students to select their sticks and then took one from the box. She then sat down at her desk and looked at the stick for awhile, thinking of what she thought would be her number. After awhile she decided to choose her favorite number. She then found a description of those who are number six. [QUOTE]People who resonate with six energy are naturally creative, have discriminating tastes, and will often be called upon to reconcile matters. They are good with numbers, are very intelligent and are able to get along with others easily. Six people have harmonious dispositions and would rather make love, not war. These people are pacifiers and like to nurture. They recognize their responsibility to others and take their role as helpers seriously.[QUOTE] She looked at the description for awhile and then decided to go with that number. She then started decorating. |
Jaina thougth she would at least get it painted. The top half of the stick she made green, for her country, Ireland. The bottom half she turned yellow because that was her house color. She painted an 2.2cm black line around the middle where the yellow and green met. She turned the stick in her hand and thought some more. |
Jamie got a stick and decided she was going to put her life path number on it. She thumbed through her textbook and found what she needed to figure out the number. SPOILER!!: Math work She now needed to find out the meaning of that number. As she read it she nodded at the accurateness of the stated: SPOILER!!: Meaning Now to decorate her stick. She looked at and smiled. She had decided to had two rows of thee trees going in a kind of spiral path in the shape of a six. It looked like there were lining it in a kind of path. SPOILER!!: Jamie's stick |
Spike wanted to decorate a stick. Oh yes he did. And he even knew what number to put on it. Right there in his head, with no fiddly calculations. Just a simple special number. Except...there were no paints, or felt tips, or pencils, or even crayons. Just his wand. And he didn't have a clue how to do any using colouring charms. They hadn't done useful excitingly practical things like that in the curriculum yet. Sigh. He wish he knew stuff. Like the 'Claw he was supposedly meant to be. Stupid hat. "Professor," he said softly as he approached the desk. "Do I have to use my wand? It's just...I don't know any decorating spells yet." He gave her a crooked smile. It almost had a hint of sadness in it. Ravenclaws were meant meant to know everything, weren't they. And he didn't. At all. "A flashing stick would be super cool. But...I haven't the foggiest idea how to do it." |
Flipping through his textbook, Jake searched for the easiest number he could calculate. It wasn't about meaningful things to him, because in Jake's eyes, numbers did not tell him who he was. JAKE decided that. His name had nothing to do with who he was. Pretty soon, he had decided on 'Growth number', but no sooner had he written 'Jakers' down than he realised he was meant to use his stupid birth name. Muttering to himself, Jake shook his head and started again, crossing out the first part. Quote:

Life Path, yeah, we're going with that. SPOILER!!: Prof. Hadley =) Okay. Treyen definitely heard that! They were supposed to pick one of those sticks...and...sigh, decorate them? Well, wasn't this about numbers?! Was he even in the right class? If it wasn't for the fact that he knew Hadley taught Arithmancy and he was seeing Hadley standing there, then he would've asked it. Er, but, yeah...he needed to figure out which number to use, no? He didn't want to count any letters, it'll take longer, because first he needed to change them into numbers and stuff...sooo...yeah, Life Path seemed the way to go, since it was the first one he saw in his textbook. SPOILER!!: Life Path number Three? Well, he had no issues with number 3. His eyes couldn't help but wander towards a certain redhead when he read the word 'dancing' on his textbook. But since Hadley was in the way, he remembered he needed to pick up a stick from that box over there, no? |
As Luin was decorating her number stick she stopped and looked at her stick for a few seconds. She was making it red and sparkly and had a change of heart, perhaps blue would be better. She flicked her wand and the stick cleared, and then she started over. She finished somewhat quickly after that, looking at it with pride. The six stood out clearly on the top. She then stopped and looked around, wondering if some of the others were done. After a few moments, she looked back at her book and started to read up on Chien Tung. |
After a couple more minutes of searching, Vashti finally decided on the Expression/Destiny Number. It seemed appropriate. These sticks were related to that Chinese fortune-telling thing, and "destiny" was generally something in the future, so Vashti thought it would be a good choice. Now to work the number out. SPOILER!!: Vashti's parchment Hopefully she had done that right because that was a lot of numbers. Why did her middle and last name have to be so long? She then looked in her textbook to see what the number meant and, hopefully, it would give her an idea on how to design her stick. SPOILER!!: Textbook Hmm... She wasn't sure she entirely agreed with the textbook, but an idea was starting to come anyway. She just had to figure out how she was going to do it. |
It wasn't until now that he finally picked up a stick he thought was alright, though, clearly, they were all the same...it just took him longer because he didn't want to decorate anything. Yes, he didn't want to, but it didn't stop him from sitting back on his table trying to figure out what to do or how to, er, make the stick unique. You know, that was a good idea, not to think of decoration. He eyed the textbook once more and repressed a laugh. It seemed creativity was NOT going to be happening soon. |
I'm thinking... PASTELS! NO, JAKE! Shaking the interior designer ideas away, Jake looked at his stick and frowned slightly before waving his wand over it, colouring it black. With another tricky flourish of his wand, he conjured a silver marker and started writing little 4s over it. Shiiiiiiiny 4s. |

SPOILER!!: parchment So here number was one? That was interesting. The little first year in the room, one of the only first years in the room, went to her book and looked up her number. SPOILER!!: Textbook The redheaded Gryffindor threw her head back in laughter. This number perfectly described her. Where was this class all of her life? So with that she went to working on her stick. Going to the front of the room she picked up the stick and began work. |
Why was it so hard to actually pick a color?? Or...eh, he was totally thinking his Life Path number was entirely off. Though, that's the Path he should take, no? Now he was confused and the lesson haven't fully started, right? He needed Arya's notes. Well, onto the stick, you know what color he liked? He liked purple. Purple actually made him happy. Yes, odd boy. He toyed with the stick a few times and sighed. Treyen didn't believe it took him so long to decide on purple when he already knew what his favorite color was. So, with a flick of his wand, and those spells Carlton had taught them, the boy managed to make the stick shine with a dark purple tone. He was supposed to do the number now, right? He smirked, he had an idea. The boy was NOT going to write the number per say, but he made three gold stripes at one end of the stick. Those three golden stripes, besides representing his House, represented the number 3. Awesome no? Now what? |
