The classroom is bright and airy, very clean and comfortable. There are no desks in this classroom, rather there are several wooden tables which would fit between four and six students quite comfortably. The tables are arranged rather higgledy piggledy, all out of alignment with each other and yet there is plenty of room to weave through the tables and walk up to the front of the classroom, or down to the back. Each table has runes carved into them, some a little straighter and clearer than others, and all stained with red. They seem to thrum encouragingly when you sit down to work, but do not provide any distraction; on the contrary you feel far more focused and confident about learning when you sit at these tables and surround yourself in the runes carved by the students and by the professor.
The front of the classroom has a large blackboard, charmed to write on itself, and when it isn't taking notes it quite often it has something to say, though you'll need to transcribe it from runic to English to make any sense of it. Truebridge also has a desk at the front of the class, set to one side, and a perfect view of all the tables arranged haphazardly around the room.
At the back of the classroom, set to one side, there is the door out into the corridor. Along the back wall there is a large bookshelf almost overflowing with books, mostly old, all very well taken care of. You're welcome to look at any of these books but if any harm befalls the tomes, there will be a severe price to pay. A long and comfortable couch takes up the rest of the back wall, and this is a good place to curl up and read or work on some of your homework.
The windows along the remaining side, opposite the door and Truebridge's desk have soft white curtains that are almost transparent. When pulled they simply diffuse the light and ensure it is not too bright, allowing the room to stay bright and lit at all times. The window frames are the most interesting, if you go and inspect them, all of the exposed wood has been painstakingly carved with runes, mostly bindrunes and rune charms, set in ligature and carved then stained red. These have all been activated and almost thrum under your fingertips. No cold will pass these windows, no student will fall to their deaths. It is a barrier of safety and of comfort, and a good example of runic magic. The door into the classroom is similarly marked.
Truebridge opened the door to the classroom and waited for the students to arrive. There was no music playing today and there was a second blackboard set up at the front of the room. Aside from that the classroom was much as it had been left at the end of the last lesson, desks still crookedly placed around the room and the runes that had been carved were subtly beginning to work their magic.
The second blackboard had been divided up into quarters, with each house written up as a title.
"Take a seat wherever you like, we'll start class soon."
ooc class has begun, please see my latest post for most recent quiz question.
"It was Baldr. Some accounts say it was a spear instead of an arrow." Jimmy answered, hand up again.

"Thats right. Two points for Ravenclaw. Next question, 1st through 4th years only. Worth two points. Who rules the second Aett?"
They were all doing pretty well so far. Truebridge relaxed at his desk and since he was starting to get hungry, he rummaged in the draw for miniature chocolate frogs.

Jackie looked up and started jotting down notes as quick as she could. She thought about this question but didn't know the answer to it. She picked up her quill and wrote the other answers.

"The first one?" Her hand went up long enough for him to notice. Then she got up for the sweets.

Knowing that she barely had time to even think for a split second, Sierra's hand shot into the air. She needed a serious nap after this class. This was almost like a Quidditch game, for Merlin's sake!
...at least Hufflepuff wasn't winning this time, though. Who was winning, anyway?! For all she knew, it very well could be the Puffers. "Thurisaz?" she guessed.
Letting out a sigh, Sabel rested his chin on his arms. He really needed to listen more closely.

Going to the professor's desk for a a few mini chocolate frogs meant that she wasn't able to answer the next question. Cause her book was allll the way over there. Not that she cared, nope. She just leisurely made her way back to her desk, already nomming on one of the frogs.

... Yes they rule the first Aett." Truebridge agreed.
"Next question, for the girls only and worth two points. Which Rune is Thor most often associated with?"
ooc: after this one I'm going to take a break for a few hours.
Charley's hand shot up.
"Thurisaz," she said confidently. She was so pleased she was here on time and taking notes this lesson.
ooc: I just pm'ed the hw to you. What time zone are you? I'm a few hours behind GMT so I get mixed up.

If I sit quietly, I'll learn something, Jaina thought. She wasn't going to try to answer any questions unless she was absolutely certain of the answer. She looked through the Ancient Runes book to get hints as to what the answers could be.
Jake was getting an ever so slight headache with all of this. If he did questions and answers, he always preferred it to be either one to one, with a few people or with no conditional questions. He didn't like gameshow time, especially when it meant flipping through the book and reading quickly. The young man had been perusing the textbook in despair for EVERY answer, but never got one in time. Even the one he'd answered was one he'd read wrong.
Sitting back, still with his feet resting on his chair as well, Jake watched Truebridge answer questions and resolved to only answer from memory. He HAD been trying but it was impossible to remember it all!
Maybe next time they'd just discuss Norse Mythology. Jake liked that.
And he was tired.
So very tired.

Being there all the time, a bit sleepy though, Helena just stood quietly in her seat. She knew most of the right answers, but didn't exactly get the chance to say them first. Anyway, as she heard that the last question was just for the girls, she decided to raise her hand, even though she wasn't quick enough. "Is it... Thurisaz?"
Gah the Snakes were just too quick.....perhaps it was the fact that real snakes had really fast tongues', Patroclus thought to himself as again and again, question after question he was just not fast enough.
'Now if it came to who was the most well groomed then the Lions would have it,' he smiled to himself, as he slide to the edge of his seat ready to pounce at the next question that would come...now.....no Now.....
Dianna was a little late in answering. She was happy that her house was earning quite a number of points and is not far behind Ravenlcaw but she really wants to get a chance to answer.
Violet was sitting quietly. She had known a few answers but she was always a bit late. Anyway, she really should buck herself up and try to get the next question right and on time. She wants to earn a few points for her house, which was lagging behind as far as the points are concerned.
Rex answered the professor for seventh years. Did the professor hear him? This would have been another point for Gryffindor. "Did Rex answer the question wrong? No acknowledgment from the professor than being told he was wrong. This professor seemed to really hate Gryffindors. Lots of points for Slytherin yet Gryffindors have been answering a lot of questions. Oh well, whatever, Rex will try to answer questions again.
