First lesson since his most recent return to Hogwarts and Ethan Truebridge was sitting at his desk in the front of the classroom, a magical gramophone sat on his desk, the soundtrack of Les Misérables playing quietly.
The blackboard was apparently 'singing' along, as the words were sung on the record, in runic the translations appeared on the board and then disappeared again moments later.
Truebridge ignored it and kept his hazel-green eyes on the door, watching as the students began to file in.
"Sit wherever you like. Four to six people at each table if you please."
SPOILER!!: classroom description
The classroom is bright and airy, very clean and comfortable. There are no desks in this classroom, rather there are several wooden tables which would fit between four and six students quite comfortably. The tables are arranged rather higgledy piggledy, all out of alignment with each other and yet there is plenty of room to weave through the tables and walk up to the front of the classroom, or down to the back.
The front of the classroom has a large blackboard, charmed to write on itself,and when it isn't taking notes it quite often it has something to say, though you'll need to transcribe it from runic to English to make any sense of it. Truebridge also has a desk at the front of the class, set to one side, and a perfect view of all the tables arranged haphazardly around the room.
At the back of the classroom, set to one side, there is the door out into the corridor. Along the back wall there is a large bookshelf almost overflowing with books, mostly old, all very well taken care of. You're welcome to look at any of these books but if any harm befalls the tomes, there will be a severe price to pay. A long and comfortable couch takes up the rest of the back wall.
The windows along the remaining side, opposite the door and Truebridge's desk have soft white curtains that are almost transparent. When pulled they simply diffuse the light and ensure it is not too bright, allowing the room to stay bright and lit at all times. The window frames are the most interesting, if you go and inspect them, all of the exposed wood has been painstakingly carved with runes, mostly bindrunes and rune charms, set in ligature and carved then stained red. These have all been activated and almost thrum under your fingertips. No cold will pass these windows, no student will fall to their deaths. It is a barrier of safety and of comfort, and a good example of runic magic. The door into the classroom is similarly marked.

Helen came in to see only a few people here so she sat down on a middle table, and began to read one of the Ancient Runes Books that she got from Diagon Alley.

" Well, I can't wait for the wedding, too" Rex told Joey. " No, I can look up to you because I am still older than you and you must respect your elders" Rex teased Joey.
Neptune Bott was almost convinced the entry music was for her. For her arrival. She spun into the room, giggled, then presented herself to Professor Truebridge with a well-to-do and clearly practiced curtsy.
"Hello, Professor," Miss Bott purred at the Professor with warm familiarity. She wiggled her fingers in greeting then spun once more. You know, for parting.

See now THAT was awesome, and if it wasn't good enough, the minute the Head Girl strolled into the classroom she heard.. Was that.. Les Miserables? Her eyes lit up at the sound of 'Do you hear the people sing' being played over the top of the students chatting amongst themselves. That.. was.. COOL!! Typically, Trixie sang the tune quietly under her breath, not really wanting to make a complete and utter fool of herself before the lesson even began.
After she had got over the fact her favourite musical was being played, the seventeen year old found herself a desk to sit in, not really taking note of whom was in the classroom already, she hadn't seen any of her close friends as of yet, then again, she wasn't exactly paying attention.
*Squeeeeee*
Yes the music had completely distracted her from whatever it was she was supposed to be doing, which.. well it was sitting and waiting for the lesson to begin. Now.. Err.. Someone join her.. Pretty, Please?

Neptune pushed her chair over to be RIGHT next to the Head Girl. Giggle. "Hi Trixie." She was sure the Head Girl didn't mind her sitting there, so she didn't ask. Instead, Neptune linked arms with the older Slytherin and squished in closer to her. One of the few girls Neptune called friend. Her eyes scanned the room for a few other Ravenclaws.... one was there, two weren't yet.
One Slytherin girl was though, one Neptune couldn't help but linger on with a gaze while a voice played stupid stupid stupid over and over in her head. Neptune eased her shoes off under the table and pulled her feet up in the seat with her. "We probably will be staying in, no?" So she was okay to ball up, right?
LOL well teeeeeeeechnically this class is before the willow in our angsty timeline

With a small smile, Sabel made his way into the classroom, pausing just inside the door when he saw that Professor Truebridge was indeed teaching this class. With a bit of a wider grin than before, he gave the man a polite nod. "Morning Professor. It's great to see you back."
Not particularly wanting to hold up traffic, he made his way into the classroom, glancing about at those already gathered. He recognized quite a few, including Arya, Lexi and Ivan. The last two appearing quite despondent.

He knew what he was going to do was going to have repercussions, but he couldn't help feeling a great deal of sympathy for Ivan. Lexi as well, granted she was one of his friends and he hated the look she had on her face. So, he did what felt right, but perhaps wasn't one-hundred percent logical.
Giving a grin to Arya, he slipped past Lexi, affording her a warm hug and a rub on the back before moving over to Ivan who was all on his lonesome. As per the last time he met the boy, he pointed to the seat beside him. "Do you mind if I join you?" He wasn't picking sides, simply trying to be understanding hopefully without any whiplash; because there was nothing worse than being alone when you were in a rut.
Ivan looked up from his book though he really wasn't reading anyway to see Sabel standing next to him asking to sit down. Giving a shrug he looked back at his book his eyes landing on Lexi first. "It's a free country." He could do what he wanted. Looking over at Lexi for longer than he'd wanted he pulled his gaze back down to his book and pretended to be reading again. "This class is going to be so fun," he muttered into the table sarcastically. He just needed to talk to Lexi but somehow now just didn't seem the most appropriate time.

Hugo quietly took a seat, looking for either Eino, Fee, Kurumi or just anyone he knew. But his view range didn't see any friends. Ancient Runes, an interesting subject. Certainly was...

Victoria walked into her very first class at Hogwarts, Ancient Runes. She had always found it a facinating subject that they never really explored at her previous school in America. She quietly maneuvered her way through the tables to find an empty seat, scanning the faces of the other students in the class. They all looked happy to be there, and happy to start the new year.
She smiled to the Professor as she entered. Noticing how young he was at the same time. 'He looks so young!! Can he really be a Professor at Hogwarts? Hmmm, he must be good though.' Victoria thought to herself.
She took a seat at the front of the class, so she could hear Professor Truebridge better, set her books on the table and excitedly waited for her first class to begin.

JP looked over to him. "I believe i met you at the whomping willow just the other night if i am not mistaken." He said to Rex.
Now looking at Joey. "So, Are you guys excited for this class?? It's my favorite subject."
" Well, I can't wait for the wedding, too" Rex told Joey. " No, I can look up to you because I am still older than you and you must respect your elders" Rex teased Joey.
you right but i'm still taller,i have newts next year.i get to drive a muggle car next year.

"Aww come on, gimme a break." Jim muttered as he entered the classroom and looked around, gauging where all his friends were sitting. Could they BE any more spread out? Really? He SO should be able to walk into a classroom and sit down and NOT have to think about these things or risk splitting his loyalties.
He was gonna sit at the table with Sal, Marie, Mia, Finn, Evelyn-the-hater and some firstie, and considered joining Ivan with that Sabel guy and REALLY there wasn't anywhere he could sit that wouldn't cause drama. He considered sitting next to Satine too, but there were a few reasons he wrote that decision off. At least for this class. and yeah he saw Neptune sitting with the head girl. Heh. He liked Trixie she was.... smart. But... well... Neptune was there.
Being James, he chose the place that'd cause the most drama.
He sat next to Lexi. Mostly because she was all alone, but also because she WAS his friend, and promptly slouched in his seat, playing the boredom card already, though he did give Lexi a friendly nudge and smile.
"Something's wrong with your face." He teased.

Luna walked over to a second year girl. Feenella wasn't it? "Hi, I'm Luna mind if a I sit with you and your friends?" she asked.
And Ellie had said that every year, and obliged pretty much every year. You would think that she'd just realize that Runes was WAY over her head and not come at all.
But this was a different term. Different teacher....Wait.
That guy was here first term!
"Good day, Professor Truebridge." Why Runes? He was SO DADA material.
Ellie continued on her way and sat at some random table, not really paying attention to which table, or who she sat with.

As Emmaleigh made her way up to the Runes classrooms, she paused at the door. The room was so different, with regular work tables instead of the colorful cushions. Although she knew that Markovic hadn't returned, it still made Em sad because she had been her favorite professor. Making her way into the room, Emmaleigh smiled at the man behind the desk. "Morning Professor."
When she entered the room, Em noticed several of her friends and acquaintances already inside. There were also several people she wouldn't mind talking to, like that Jake guy. But the little girl's eyes landed upon her best friend. She made her way over to Brittany and sat down. "Hey." was all she could say with last night's fight weighing heavily on her mind.
Brittany looked up from her favorite pass time... drawing well doodling in this case.. to see her best friend who had just taken a seat next to her "Hi." she said with a look of concern. "You feeling better." she asked Em. She just realized she still hadnt seen mikey since the fight. That wasnt good
Then as she thought about it she noticed him slipping into class. How convinent. She shot him a small wave because she wast sure if he was ready to chat just yet
Sighs. She was NOT going to look at anymore of them. She didn't care if Salander wasn't looking at her. Much. She didn't care that Sabel walked right past her to go to her boyfriend... What a traitor. Okay she DID care about that.

"Chocolate chunk sounds fantastic! And i would love to learn! My cousin is a muggle but he isn't much of a cook. He just teaches me the basics. I've been learning how to play soccer. I't quite intersting. Fishing sounds fun. That I do know how to do. Me and my father go all the time!" JP was excited about his new friendship as he smiled at his new friend.

Walking into the Ancient Runes classroom, Charisa immediately liked the fact that it felt nice and airy inside. Unlike the torch-lit corridors or the common room where she just knew she'd be doing all her homework by candlelight. She gave the room a quick scan, hoping that she knew someone, anyone.
Oooh, Fee was there! She hadn't really sat down yet, by the looks of it. Charisa approached the older girl and gave her a light tap on the shoulder. Eeek, awkward? "Hiya, Fee," she said with a wave.
