The room is once again set up with the desks around the perimeter and a large opening in the middle. One corner of the room, however, is devoid of chairs and is curtained off. The windows are open just slightly to let some fresh air in, but not enough that anything could slip through, except for maybe some parchment.
Professor Kingsley stands near the board waiting for the students to arrive.
(So sorry about not opening on Friday. Something came up and I was not around this weekend at all).

It was the first thing the Puff noticed when she skipped into the classroom. Bright brown eyes lingered on the cloth for a moment, curious as to what it was hiding, before dancing over to the Professor. "Hai, Professor Kingsley! How are ya?" Sending the man a smile, she made quick work of closing the gap between her and a desk near a window.
Hellooo fresh air.

Freya humming to herself all the way to the Transfiguration Classroom. She was soooo happy didn't know why, she just feel like it. Maybe somethings good gonna happen today. Hey a girl can dream, right? She opened the door into the Transfiguration classroom. She looked around and saw Professor Kingsley was standing near the board. "Hello. Professor. How are you today?" she greeted him and then made her way to find herself a seat.

Trixie walked into the Transfiguration Classroom a little apprehensively after the note that was left on the Common Room notice board. It was her first lesson back after her little, break from the school if you will and her mind was refreshed. Sort of. She only feared failure really and she wasn't ALLERGIC to anything but she WAS a Vegan, that was kinda important right?
The blonde smiled politely over at the Professor but sat down quickly. "Hello Professor" she smiled softly but wasn't exactly in the mood for casual conversation. The 16 year old took out any equipment perhaps necessary for this lesson, not certain if she'd have to put it away again. Who knew whether you were working hard or being involved with the practical sessions in this school.
joey walks into the class room she ready to learn new spells.Taking out chesse ball and crackers and eating a few and she puts it away.Hello Professor Kingsley.
Yes! Favorite class... Well it was her favorite because it was a subject she didn't feel stupid in, she could actually excell in this class! If she tried to
Rae walked in with an outfit she tried to put together herself.. Then again, she was no fashion diva, if she didn't match, then she really couldn't tell. Though her hair was still wavy and messy as it usually was she went up to the professor's desk to greet him. "Hello Professor, How're you today?"
Rene walked into the classroom ready to learn. She had a full schedule today and was really ready to get them all out of the way. "Hello professor, are you having a good day, Sir?''

Vashti was a bit nervous about coming after seeing the notice for this class. Allergies, she wasn't worried about because she didn't have any. But phobias? She was afraid of a few things, but she wasn't sure she'd quite classify them as phobias. Spiders made her uncomfortable - especially after that last CoMC class - and she was afraid of failing. But what was really unnerving her was the memory of her boggart from that lesson in Charms. They weren't doing boggarts for Transfiguration, were they? Vashti really hoped not; she didn't want to go through that again.
"Hello, Professor Kingsley," she said, managing a smile as well before taking a seat by Trixie.

Luna was strangely excited about this class. Transfiguration wasn't her favourite subject but she was excited about the allergies and phobias thing. Luna didn't have any but she was interested about learning about other phobias and such.

Iris walked into the transfiguration classroom. Hmm. Interesting arrangment. She looked at the professor and smiled. "Hullo, Professor Kingsley." With a little nod of her head, the prefect wandered off to the back of the class, and took a seat. She really hoped that Professor Kingsley didn't think her phobias were weird. Or funny. Because, in all honesty, they're rather pathetic phobias... Still.
Taking in the classroom arrangement, Iris frowned, wondering what could be behind the curtained off section of the room...
Lexi swallowed her fear of Kingsley possibly TORTURING them with chickens this class and made her way into the room. She eyed the corner that was curtained off and took a seat as FAAAAAARRRR away from that place as she could. Looking back toward the board she eyed the man suspiciously and then said, "Good day, Professor Kingsley." Yeah... she had her eye on him. If she heard the first cluck of a chicken she was out of there.
"Good day, good day," Preston greeted each student as they entered. "I'm doing quite well, thank you for asking."
He watched as students trickled in, and nodded decisively when that trickle stopped.
"Alright, let's begin." Preston clasped his hands behind his back. "There are three spells I want to teach you today, so I will refrain from lecturing so that we have as much practice time as possible." He looked over to the curtain quickly, before turning back to the class.
"Last lesson, we learned several ways to stay warm if you are exposed to the elements. Those spells might also be quite useful in other ways," he paused for emphasis, "but that will be for homework."
"Today, I want to give you a handful of spells that will be MOST useful after our third lesson, but will be useful today as well. Today, we will talk about making things that are binding or building in some way. I asked you about phobias and allergies because I did not want to present you with those if they were debilitating. My aim is to instruct you, not terrify you."
He looked around the room. "The spells I will teach you today can be used on an number of similar starting objects, but I have selected the more difficult to use. Live creatures that are difficult to work with."
Turning toward the board, he wrote up a single word: TACQUE.
"Pronounce ta-kay, this spell will produce a nail or a stake of various material, depending on your focus. You'll generally want metal though a wooden stake could have it's uses."
He paused. "What kinds of items are similar to nails or stakes that you could use this spell to transfigure?"

OOOOH oooh! Rae's hand shot up in the air...
"Railroad spikes professor!" She had done a lot of walking around.. Some of it had been on train tracks.. "We're gonna make a train aren't we!!!?" Not really a question... She totally knew there was gonna be a train in here somewhere.
Rae was also oblivious to the comment about creatures.... She only believed that her guess on trains was now pure fact.

TA-KAY... Eino repeated in his head. He loved learning Transfiguration spells, but the pronunciation was usually an issue. He thought about what kind of objects resembled a nail or a stake, and decided to speak up. "A pin and a screw." He suggested after raising his hand. To him they were similar to a nail and stake, and they served similar purposes, too.

...Oh Merlin. They weren't working with chickens again are they?
Mentally groaning, Evelyn slumped in her seat and stared around at the others who spoke answers. What was a trane? It had been awhile since she read her book on muggle things, so the information that she had acquired was slowly dwindling. Like what a trane was. Not that it mattered of course, but it was going to bother her for the entire lesson if she didn't find out soon.
Psshhh. Ellie sat back in her seat. "I don't know about you, but if there are any vampires, I am SO transfiguring a wooden stake." That was the legend, wasn't it? What use would metal be?
"You could..." Do something... Err..

Legs a swinging as she waited for the rest of the class to arrive, she pulled out her notebook and quill to prepare for the class. All of this she did while stealing peeks at the cloth in the corner. What was it hiding this time.
Hmm.
Her attention turned to the man when he began the lesson. Live creatures again, huh? Her eyes flicked back to the curtain, lingering briefly before returning her attention to Kingsley.
"Staples are similar..." They held things together like nails, didn't they? They did.

Nails. Spikes. Desks set up in a perimeter, probably for safety reasons. Hmm Fletcher wasn't sure he liked where this was going... but he was trying to be mostly quiet for today's lesson to avoid any more of Kingsley's possible wrath or leigili mind probing. Yeah the Hufflepuff still hadn't shown up in the Transfiguration room for extra practice or punishment after last class... but he hadn't forgotten. He was going to get around to it, of course, just... not today. Or tomorrow.
But back to the spikes.
"You could conjure up.... a pin? Like those pins Muggles use to pin up their clothing and they stick in those funny-looking pumpkin-like pincushions?" Fletcher sounded hopeful and yet doubtful. That was a hard question, Kingsley. Hmmph.

Professor Kingsley blinked, surprised. "Um, while you are correct that railroad spikes are something we could make, we are not making trains. My question was more, what could we transfigure into that kind of spike."
Goodness. Conjure a train?

"How about wooden nails." Eh? Yea? Haha.
He was beginning to think his question wasn't clear. "Yes, you could make wooden nails and, indeed, some folks use wooden nails or bolts when building wood structures."

Yes, he'd clearly misspoken. "Ah, yes, that would be a use. Metal spikes are more commonly used to secure things, like railroad tracks, or tent supports."

"Yes, pins would be good, though I wouldn't conjure something to then transfigure it."
Preston flicked his wand at the board, adding the suggestions and adding some of his own.
"I apologize that my question wasn't clear. I was looking for items to transfigure into nails, not things that could be done with them or things to make instead of nails. But I wasn't clear."
Walking to the board, Preston tapped on the surface. "Needles, toothpicks, twigs, pins, q-tips, straws and other similar items can be transfigured into nails or spikes with tacque. It is also possible, however, to transfigure worms into nails with this spell, and it is that we will practice now."
Walking behind the curtain, Preston returned with two metal buckets full of writhing earthworms. "Come up and grab a few worms and bring them back to your desk. You will practice the spell on these worms, focusing on turning them into regular nails. No spikes at this juncture. AFTER you are successful with regular nails, you may try other. The wand movement is a simple flick."
He looked over the class. "Worms. Tacque. Flick. Let's get started.

Worms!
The Slytherin lad grinned at the squirmy filled bucket. He wanted to grab one of them buckets and get some fishing done. He strode over, took a small handful of the worms and plopped them down onto his desk.
Selecting one of the worms, the Slytherin lad took a deep breath Focus!... he berated himself as he cast the spell "Tacque!" The worm..... stayed a worm. But it has stopped moving. Well it was progress. Sort of.

Eino pulled a leather glove out of his bag, and wearing it he walked up to the bucket of worms and grabbed a few of them. He returned to his table, placed them on top of it, and removed his glove. "Okay," he prepared his wand, "Tacque..." He recited before trying the spell, and practiced a simple flick. When he found himself ready he exclaimed "Tacque!" and to his surprise the worm began to change, but it didn't transfigure into a nail, instead of a worm it was now a small piece of metal. He had forgotten to flick his wand, but he was rather surprised something happened, so he continued to practice.

Worms! Kurumi was reminded of her childhood where she used to take walks in the rain with her brothers and do what she called "saving worms." Grabbing a handfull of worms, Kurumi returned to her table and took out her wand. The little critters were squirming and rolling around on her desk. She better have good aim or something terrible could potentially happen.
Okay, time to start with wormy number one. Kurumi decided to name him Hank...yes, Hank. Kurumi pointed her wand and said, "TACQUE!" but probably did a terrible job at saying it correctly for the worm turned a bright pea green instead. Oops...
Setting Hank aside, Kurumi picked up wormy number 2, Sachi, and gave it another go. This time the worm turned silver but still was not really a nail...well...the top end of the nail was there...but the bottom was still wormy and squirming around. "Ew...that's really gross looking..." she said to herself taking worm number three, Robo, and giving it one more try.
Third times a charm, right? Well, in this case not a charm but a transfiguration -mental laughter-
"TACQUE!" she said as clearly as she could. Low and behold, there lay an unsquirming nail on her desk. Now...what to do about the other two...

Quickly she scribbled down everything that was being written on the board. Yeeeeah, she totally misunderstood what he was asking them. Oh well. Tacque. Almost sounded like taco. Kinda made her want one. Maybe she would take a trip to the kitchens after this lesson.
Wait....worms?
They were gonna work with worms for this spell? Awesome.
Her eyes followed the professor as she walked behind the curtain, and fixed on the buckets when he emerged from it. She hadn't messed with worms in foreverr. Never thought she would use them in a lesson.
Without hesitation, she skipped over to the professor, resisted the urge to stick her whole hand into the bucket, and picked up one...two....four worms. Moving carefully as she moved back to her desk. Wand already in hand.
The dark wood twirled slowly between her fingers as she stared at the four wiggling worms on her desk. Carefully sounding out the incantation. "Tacqueee.......taaaaaacque........tacquuue... "

Patroclus slide from his seat and walked gingerly towards the buckets. Peering over the rim, the boy was momentarily stunned by the mass of wringling flesh colour worms, that appeared to be all one big worm!
Taking a breathe, Patroclus plunged his hand into the bucket. "Ohh. So nasty" he muttered as his hand closed softly around a fistful. Pulling them out and heading back to his desk, Patroclus quickly dropped them and cleansed his hand, "Scourgify!" Looking at the pathetic little creatures all trying to burying themselves in the desk, Patroclus was overtaken by a wave of pity.......closely followed by hunger..............
Brushing those thoughts aside, Patroclus flicked his wand and spoke, "Tacque!"Where the worms had been were now, silver worms........gllllll.
"Reverto!" Patroclus blushed before trying again, "Tacque!"
