Transfiguration III and In-Class Final Set-up as it has been the majority of the term, the desks are once again along perimeter of the room. A large section is, however, roped off, and houses numerous small trees in pots, as if that corner were a forest of sorts. In another section of the room, large piles of large leaves. about the size of a grown man's hand, as well as gnarled, knotty branches three to four feet long and thick as a baseball bat, lay piled up. The board at the front of the room simply reads the following: Quote:
ooc: There will be full participation points for class practice, etc as in a normal lesson AND additional final exam points once we move into that section. We have moved on to the Final Quote:

Eino dragged himself to class, he had been up late studying for the final exam and was exhausted. "Good morning, Professor." He said as he was directed to his seat by Professor Kingsley. Yawning, he took out parchment, quill, and ink and set them up on his desk neatly. A no sleep charm would be really helpful right now... He thought as he leaned his head on his hand and waited for class to begin. |
Salander walks quietly into the classroom, feeling a little worse for wear as the "crunch time" from his subjects were starting to take its toll. He looks up at the board and reads the instructions silently, then proceeded to take a branch and a leaf then takes a seat "Greetin's Professor" he finally managed to mumble. |
Though on the outside she might appear to be the picture of tranquility, on the inside, Vashti was literally freaking out. Not only was her father's health deteriorating by the day, but finals were coming up as well - and apparently their Transfiguration final would be today. And while she tried to force herself not to care so much about her final grades, she just couldn't do it. Regardless of how stressed she was over her father's well-being, she just couldn't go and fail all her exams on top of it. It would really just add even more stress she didn't need. So here she was, taking a few deep breaths before she entered the classroom. "Hello, Professor," she said, managing a smile. She quickly read over the instructions on the board, trying not to freak out over the words final exam, then took a branch and leaf from the pile and sat at one of the desks. |
It was getting so close to the end of the year, that Evelyn was beginning to feel a bit antsy about that fact. She could almost taste the summer air of freedom and independence and trouble making that gleams over the mountain of school they they must cross! It was sooooo close! Which, distracted her so much that she almost missed the floor she was supposed to get to. Oops! Pffft, not the seventh floor. However, Evelyn finally made it to the classroom, in good spirits. "Good day, Professor Ruff...Kingsley." Maybe in too much a good spirit. Meep! Hurriedly setting her bag down at a desk, the Slytherin glanced towards the board just as she sat down before sighing and standing back up again. Meh. Branch, and leaf. Whyyyyy?? |
"... 'sup, professor." Jimmy sauntered into class, looked around, and with a shrug took a seat somewhere along the middle portion of the circle. |
A very smiling Lockhart made his way to the classroom, and sort of stood by the door for just a second when he noticed the trees. Really, more trees? Didn't they have enough of those out there? Anyway, he stepped inside as if nothing happened, "Professor Kingsley! Good day Sir!" he said, a wide smile on his face. Because this time will be different, he could tell. And it better be. The boy took a branch and...only one leaf? How come one? Er, yeah, then he took a seat. |
"Hello professor" she said cheerily as she entered the classroom, she picked up a branch and a leaf and skipped happily to a desk and took a seat. |
Jenny walked into the classroom, ready for another day of Transfiguration. Then she stopped. What were trees and leaves doing here? Shouldn't they be outside? Jenny shrugged the idea away. "Good morning, Professor," Jenny greeted Professor Kingsley as she picked up a branch and a leaf. She quickly sat down in a seat. |
Alice walked in to the classroom, feeling very nervous about her final. This was the first one that she had where she was actually going to need to cast some form of magic. She shifted her nervous gaze up to the board, reading it carefully, before making her way over to grab a branch and a leaf from the pile. She eyed them curiously before taking a seat. Boy was she nervous! "Hello Professor Kingsley," Alice said, her voice shaking slightly. |
Emmaleigh headed up to the transfiguration classroom a little out of breath. Even after an entire school year, she still managed to get lost on her way here. The poor girl had to practically run to get here on time. She entered, and took a seat close to the front of the classroom, and panted "good morning, Professor." She looked up at the board, and noticing she needed a leaf and branch, she got up to get them. |
As she walked along the corridor towards the Transfiguration classroom, Mia couldn't help looking out the windows as she passed. Didn't the Professor's know it was too nice a day outside to be stuck in a classroom doing school work? Not only that it was almost the end of term. Leaving the window and the clear blue sky, Mia stepped inside the classroom. She held up her two fingers in the 'peace' sign as she passed the Professor. "Hey Professor Kingsley." She said by way of greeting before picking up a branch and a leaf and heading to a desk up the back. That way she was unlikely to be called on to show how sad her magic abilities were. |
Destiny was totally ready for the Transfiguration lesson and final. Yup! She had spent at least ten minutes studying right before she made it to the sixth floor, so all the information was fresh in her mind. She wasn't going to be like those Ravenclaws..up all night studying. She liked to sleep too much for that. Shoving her notes into her bag, she entered the classroom, taking notice of the room's set-up. "Hello, Professor Kingsley!" she greeted before giving a shifty look towards the back of the room. "I think someone is playing a prank on you. They put trees in here." You know, just stating the obvious and all. "It wasn't me, though!" she added quickly before skipping off towards the empty desk near Evelyn..'s bag. Where was she..there! "Pssssst! Evelyn! Grab me a branch and leaf, too!" Apparently the trees were not a prank. |
"Lo, professor," Fletcher quietly greeted Kinglsey as he entered the classroom. He paused at the threshold, as usual, and read the board, then obediently headed to the knotty-branch and leaf section. He picked out a thick, gnarly branch and a fluffy leaf and then took a seat near that Hufflechick Mia. He knew she didn't like him; that just made class a little more interesting. Hopefully they would get to set these things on fire. HEHEHEHEH. |
Freya walked into the Transfiguration classroom. She couldn't believe that today was her third Transfiguration lesson and final. She was already preparing herself for the final. She took a few deep breath before she greeted Professor Kingsley. "Hello. Professor." she said greeting the transfiguration Professor. She read the instruction from the board. The Slytherin proceed to take one branch and one leaf before made her way to her seat. |

With he steps faltering, the Slytherin looked over her should to see who had said her name. Pfft, they could get their own branch and leaf! Unless, that person was Marie or Destiny. Oh look, it was Destiny. Even then, the girl could get her own stuff. "Lazy." Pfft. Smirking, Evelyn continued towards the 'Everyone go GREEN' area, and picked up two leaves first. Why the leafs? Because they weren't the size of her, that's why. The branches on the other hand...Holy Merlin. Sighing, she picked one up first, the smallest of the bunch from the looks of it...O__O! Yea, okay. One was enough. She just, had to get, another one, EESH! Lugging two branches quickly back to her desk, she placed one on her own and... ..kinda threw the other to Destiny's desk. It was heavy! Jeezo. |
Kurumi made her way into the classroom fidgeting with her hair and twitching from nerves. Here it was...her first final exam in Hogwarts. She sure hoped that she didn't pass out...she was feeling a bit light headed. "H-h-h-h-hello professor," she said bowing more than a few times in greeting. Yep, she sure hoped she didn't faint. Sitting next to him she put the items on his desk. "Thought you could use these," she said. She then looked around the room and seen her other friends there. Oops, how had she missed seeing them in class when she first walked in? Oh right, because she only had eyes for a certain 'Claw at the time. |

"Don't forget to go grab your supplies,' he said, gesturing to the pile of leaves and branches. Quote:
The students seemed inordinately fatigued. This did not bode well for the final. Quote:

Hmmph. Quote:
Someone, at least, seemed excited for class. Quote:

"Hello," he stressed, in response to her hey. Quote:
He gestured to her seat, shaking his head at her immediate denial. "Guilty conscience?" Quote:

------------ "Alright," he said, shutting the door and making his way to the front. "Today, we're going to add a few more skills to your repertoire before putting them all together for your final." Standing in front of the class, hands clasped behind his back, he surveyed the room. "If you were stranded in the woods, with no hope of rescue until morning, what might you need to survive the night?" |
Adjusting her branch and leaf on her desk so she was able to squeeze her notebook onto the area as well, she managed to somehow make her branch drop to the floor and leaf fall to her lap with her notebook dead center. Well, she supposed that worked out perfectly as well. Leaning back in her chair, becoming quite comfortable (for a wooden chair that is), the Slytherin crossed her arms and...smirked. Teeheee. Wait, question. Stranded in the woods? No hope of rescue until morning? ..."A wand." Duh, it was obvious. Otherwise, you were pretty much done for. Depending on what woods you are stranded in actually. |
"If we are talking without magic I'd say a tent, a sleeping bag, and some food. Either things you can cook on a fire or things that don't require heating. The rest nature provides in sticks to make a fire and if you don't bring food nature can provide if you know what to look for.", Chloe responded with her hand raised high |
Granted Simon liked camping but being stranded wasn't a desired effect anymore then someone who didn't. Thinking of what he'd want the most, other then the already mentioned wand, the fifth year soon raised his hand. "A way of creating a fire. That way you can keep yourself warm and help ward off creatures that are afraid of it," he answered lowering his hand once he was done speaking. |
Marie looked at the professor and was about to say she would never be stranded in the woods so she wouldn't need anything. Deciding not to press her luck since this was part of the final she decided to answer with a real answer. "You would need water." Which you would have as long as you had your wand, which Evelyn had already mentioned. |
Amy raised her hand "with out magic you'd need a shelter and a light source and heat source and food of course, but with magic I suppose you'd really only need a wand " |
When he said the woods the Forbidden Forest immediately came to Melanie's mind... and then all the creatures that were rumored to inhabit it. "Something to protect yourself with or somewhere to take refuge for the night would probably be helpful." she answered, raising her hand. |
