| | The Office of Professor Sylvie-Renée Welton As you first enter Professor Welton’s office, you will notice it is rather different than it was once before. The office has once again gotten a makeover courtesy of the newest History of Magic professor. The once blue walls have now been replaced with dark mahogany panelling and the floor with a slightly lighter variation of flooring. An antique French Aubusson rug is centred on the floor and a top it a pair of comfy armchairs, very similar to the Victorian chaise outside the office.
A set of bookshelves, full of random history tomes and books, are noticeable in one corner of the room, near a fireplace. There is also a small spiral staircase beside the fireplace, which leads up to yet more bookshelves. If any student was in need of anything related to history, muggle or wizard, one of these bookshelves would possible have it or would at least guide them in the right direction.
Located just opposite the fireplace and angled ever so slightly is a rather large desk. It almost over powers the professor, but atop it is neatly placed stacks of books and parchment. A tiny nameplate is situated in the middle of the desk and a single empty picture frame just to the right. A lone high-backed chair sits in front of the desk and behind the desk is a map of the world. OCC: Please remember that you need to be invited in before you may post here. |

Hearing this, she blinked once and tilted her head as she tried to process what she was hearing. "Okay, so you and your ex are getting closer, but you feel that's a bad thing because?" She was a pit confused. "What to you define as too close? Being able to be friends with ex is rather a commendable thing in my mind." Again, she really wasn't sure what she was to tell him. "Do you think your girlfriend would be upset with you two being closer?" Oh. Right. Again, innocent people would naturally not think that by "getting close", he meant "kissing." "We kissed," he said simply, waiting for the professor's reaction, still staring down after just a glance at her forehead. "She doesn't mind us being friends but she was worried that I might hurt her with my ex, and apparently she was right..." Oooh, shame of remembering the ball last year and combining what he'd just done...

"Hello Simon," she replied. It had finally come to the point where she actually knew the names of all the students and didn't have to address them all by their surnames. "I'm well, how about you? I haven't seen you down in this neck of the castle before, was there something I could help you with?" She was a bit confused as of late no one was really ever down in that area of the castle. |

"Well, thank you for coming by, I don't get all that many visitors," she replied with a shrug. Yes, toward the beginning of the term, there were a number of visitors, but not so much now. Glancing out her window, she looked back and frowned a bit. "I'm sure they are just held up in their common rooms staying warm or something," she offered. It was winter and being in front of a fire did sound welcoming at the moment. "Oh, I'm just reading up on something for class." she smiled. Her mind was at work for the next lesson and all. |

He said, or maybe it was because they had fallen out with him he had no idea, he hated not having anyone too talk too. "At home I would have loads of people to entertain me." Simon sighed he was missing home badly.
Simon looked at the Professor. "That is cool." He smiled. "I can't wait for your next lesson, I'm sure that I will enjoy it." Simon smiled as he looked at the Professor, she wasn't at all as scary as what he first feared she was going to be.

Simon smiled as he looked at the Professor, she wasn't at all as scary as what he first feared she was going to be. Sylvie nodded and smiled. "I remember how I used to like just sitting in the common room in front of a fire. Of course, the dungons were always cold but a fire is a fire," she teased. "Loads of people? I only had myself to entertain myself when I was younger, well maybe my brother, but he was no fun." Taking his sigh, she frowned a bit. "You know it isn't all that long before it will be warm again and everyone will be coming out to play on the grounds, maybe you will have more luck in finding your friends once the weather gets better." The sun and warmth did draw people out more.
She smiled once again. "I'm looking forward to seeing you in class. I promise treats this time," she added. There were the grilled cheese before, but she had sweets in mind for the next lesson for sure. "I do hope that you lot like brownies and cupcakes. Plus juice, can't forget the juice." Sugaring up the kiddies could be trouble, but she was willing to risk it. |

"The weather outside is kind of bad." He sighed. "I have loads of people because of my parents." He smiled. "I'm from a small country called Hollian, have you heard of it?" Simon asked the Professor.
"I do." Simon smiled, "I can't wait for your next lesson, I wish it was happening now but I get that I have too wait, I hope that it is soon." Simon laughed.

It really has been some time since she had really gotten to know a student. "Hollian? I think I might have read about it, maybe you should tell me more about it," she smiled. She did like to hear things from her student's view. Different perspectives were always nice. "I'm sure sugar of any kind will be liked," she laughed. "The next lesson will begin before you even know it, I'm happy to see someone is excited over it though." History was a bit boring to some and she still did fear that the students were not ever going to warm up to the subject. |

"Well it's small and it's ruled by a king, it's a small country compared too this." Simon looked at the Professor. "It's got beautiful Scenery and the Capital city has the biggest population and that only has 50,000 people living there." Simon thought about the scenery and about his family he missed it so much.
"I love History of Magic." Simon smiled. "Since I was about four I had too learn the History of Hollian because that is what my parents wanted." Simon sighed. "I spend most day learning about different things."

"I spend most day learning about different things." Sylvie smiled as she listened to what Simon was telling her. She did vaguely remember hearing of Hollian and it wouldn't have surprised her if Seb and her passed through there during their backpacking trip. "It sounds like a beautiful place, it actually sounds like a place I would like to visit." she nodded. Summer was coming up and she wasn't yet sure of her plans, maybe a side trip would be good for her. "I love History of Magic as well, but I'm rather biased since I've been surrounded by history my whole life," she offered. Her love of the subject did stem from always being around history books and what not. "Four is a young age, but you are never too young to know what has happened in the past." She did like that there were still some that did find history to be worthy of their time. It made her smile for sure. |

Marie telling him to keep it; Iris telling him to confess it himself, he had to get another opinion. And an experienced one too. Biting his bottom lip, he stole another glance at the professor. Yup, it was probably the worst situation he had ever got into. He nodded at the question. She had known all along that this would happen, because he and Marie did have a history. Quite a history, in fact, to kiss. Oh Merlin.
He nodded at the summation of things again. And there were some stuff he wasn't sure and still could not explain to Professor Welton as well like Mina and Marie's history. "There are some other stuff that made Mina--my girlfriend--nervous as well about Marie, but I'm afraid I don't know them much in detail." Another glance at the woman. "Do you think I should tell her what I've... done?" And if yes, how should he do it?

It was all rather confusing and she still hadn't really figured out what to make of it all. History was bound to be present with any relationship, but she still wondered why someone that had concerns would want for their boyfriend to be friends with their ex. It was strange in her mind, but stranger things were possible. Crossing her arms over her chest, she leaned back and looked at the young Slytherin again. There really had to be more to the story.
Marie and Mina...very similar names. Nodding again, she tried to process what exactly Evan was saying. "I'm sure Mina was a bit threatened by Marie or something. You know girls feel threatened by some of the smallest things." She knew that's how she was back then. "But if she wanted you to be friends with Marie, I can only guess that she has gotten over feeling that way." Well, it sounded as so, but she was just making assumptions now. Blinking slightly, she frowned as she heard the question. "Well, that's a hard question. Personally, if my boyfriend did something like this, I would prefer to know about it and hear it from him. Honesty is always the best option. But, I can understand why you might now be sure what to do." It really was a sticky situation, wasn't it? |

Sure, Mina must have felt threatened. And from what he knew, she was always the second after Marie, and that annoyed her. How would it not, it was terrible and unfair, since she was just as pretty as Marie. Nodding at it, he listened on. Well, he wasn't sure at that, she didn't look so secure in the ball last year, but she was alright in the summer. Maybe she really felt secure? He sighed. That was even worse, wasn't it, that she finally trusted him? Yeah, so much for keeping up the trust.
Looking up, he talked in a low voice that was barely audible. "I say I should confess it, but Marie says to keep it a secret." A huge dilemma.

Sylvie couldn't help but frown as she heard his quiet reply. "I know you are all young, but relationships should be based on trust. If you do care for Mina, which I only can guess you do, I would advise you to tell her. I'm sure Marie is worried about the truth coming out, but Mina deserves to know." When did the love lives of her students becoming so much more complicated as her own.
Letting out a sigh, she shook her head. "Evan, this sounds to be a very delicate situation. If you feel that you shouldn't tell her, don't tell her. Telling her now would probably be hard but do think how hard it will be to tell her if she finds out another way," she asked. If the gossip of the school was anything like it was in her youth, secrets were always on the lips of the students and it was only a matter of time before things were heard and would find a way to the ears of someone that might tell said girlfriend. |
