Kurumi, who could not possible fall asleep after all the excitement of being sorted, meeting so many amazing people, and getting her first look at the Gryffindor Common Room, decided to explore the castle when she pleasantly surprised herself by finding her way to the kitchen. Every so slowly, for she had no idea what lie behind it's great doors, she opened the door and took a peak inside. She let out a soft gasp as she saw strange small creatures running around washing dishes and putting away left over food - some of which she recognized to be food from the feast. Shyly, she stepped into the kitchen and knelt down next to the nearest of the small things offering a small head nod of a bow before speaking. "Um...hello..." she whispered so as not to frighten the poor thing. "This may be rude...but...what are you?" she was not sure she had read about these beings in her muggle magical creatures books and maybe she had just not gotten to the part in her Hogwarts textbook that mentioned them.

Walking in after Leilani, Jimbo watched her reaction once she saw all the house elves with platters of food to offer.

As they surrounded them, Jimbo grabbed a cupcake and began to eat it happily. They always knew to have cupcakes whenever Jimbo came. It made him love the place even more. How sweet.

So, Ophelia was hungry. Like, really, really hungry. She felt her tummy and frowned slightly. This would not do. Now, what did that fifth year tell her earlier? ... She paused in her walking, slightly dazed and then remembered, mouth forming a small 'o' as she gasped out loud. Of course! The kitchens! A great place for a little snack when she was craving something. Goodie. She skipped--because, after all, skipping was all the rage and she was just loving how ~awesome~ Hogwarts was--and found her way to the kitchen before she knew. Then she had to do the funny little tickling pear thing, but soon enough she was there.

Eyes wide she walked slowly, feeling like she was being intrusive on a sleeping dragon's den. "Ohmygosh," she said softly, looking around at the few students who'd also come to enjoy some serious snacking. They were house elves, right? At least, she thought they were. They were so cute she could eat them up! Smiling brightly, the girl skipped over to a house elf, plucking a pastry from one of the trays, and began nomming greedily. Mouth full of pastry, she said: "Sooo goood," and then swallowed hard, coughing a little right after. Oh, such a treat. Her light brown eyes looked around to see if there were more snack-worthy-treats. She was hungry, after all. She'd need more to satisfy her hunger.

Once inside, Leilani's jaw fell open once again. Wow, she seemed to be doing alot of that lately. "Wow." She couldn't seem to make anything else come out of her mouth. "I-... Wow." Oh yeah, smooth.

"OMG CUPCAKES!!" And yet that managed to escape... Leilani picked up one and took a bite out of it. Soooo. Freaking. Goooood. *dies*

"That's right. How do you feel about THAT?" he grinned. "I come down here all the time for some extra food. I invite you to do the same. It really is the best." As he finished his cupcake, he picked up another one.

One that happened to be buttercream, and that made him frown a bit. Reminded him of Monty. Sad face. Poor cupcakes will probably never be made by him and Monty ever again. It was depressing really, because the end of those cupcakes means the end of his friendship with Monty. Or, er, the other way around.

Maybe he should leave the kitchen and go do something that DOESN'T remind him of Iris Beaumont.

Leilani stared at Jimbo's poutey face as she finished up her first cupcake. "That is the saddest I have ever seen you while eating food." Jimbo wasn't the type to get all emotional over his food either. It wasn't like he was a vegitarian. What was going on?!

She put a hand on his shoulder. "You alright buddy?" Seriously. He'd just shown her one of the biggest wonders of Hogwarts and he looked about ready to cry... on his cupcake.

Mabey he was upset cuz it was buttercream? *shudder* Buttercream is nasty. Seriously, it made her sick just thinking about it. Ick. Yeah, that had to be it. Hmm, well come to think of it he probobly wouldn't have picked it up if he didn't like buttercream. Siiiiiigh. Nevermind then.

Ahhhhh, she chooses now to be observant. Forcing a half-grin onto his face, he began to insist that he was fine. "Don't worry about it. I'll be alright. Food always makes it better. Especially cupcakes." He put threw away the buttercream one before grabbing a regular chocolate cupcake.

"But I suppose...thanks for caring." He patted her on the head and took a huge bite out of his cupcake, which was pretty much half the thing.

"You know, you can ask them for anything and they'll get it for you." He was referring to the elves, obviously. But he was also trying to get her mind on something else. Since he really didn't want to talk about Monty at the moment. He wanted to forget about Monty. For now, at least.

"Oh." Leilani watched as he grabbed another cupcake and held in a sigh. He didn't seem alright. No, quite the opposite. She looked down as he patted her on the head. Something was up. Mabey.

Not so surprisingly, Lani wasn't hungry anymore. She was too upset with the fact that Jimbo was obviously upset. If that made any sense at all.

She nodded and tried to give him a smile as he told her that she could ask for anything she wanted. But she was hungry. "Jimbo..." She started. There was an awkward knot in her stomach. "Is there something y-you're not telling me?" Yup. There we go, she just blew it right there. *facepalm*

Pam walked in with Liz. It was amazing!!! FOOD EVERYWERE!!!!!!!!

They walked into a room full of... house elves! Hm, she certainly hadn't expected that. Liz had only ever heard of house elves, never seen them.
"House elves," she whispered to Pam, just in case she hadn't known.
Then, Liz remembered; her dad had told her about the entrance to the kitchen! He had said that if you want something to eat, you just have to ask the house elves.
Well, she didn't want to interrupt them, and she saw other just picking stuff up off the counters and tables, so she followed their lead and picked up two chocolate covered strawberries.
"This is the best strawberry I've ever had," she told Pam, handing her the other, "Strawberries are my favorite food. What about you?"

She took the strawberry from her and took a bite. Her eyes widended in wonder. These were the best strawberries ever!!!!!! "I like strawberries but I prefer pineapples." She said picking one off the table.

Liz was, sadly, allergic to pineapples. Only if she ate them though.
She popped in a few more strawberries and a small chicken wing. Despite the wonderful food, thoughts of the low Ravenclaw house points entered her head.
"How do you think we could get more points?" she asked Pam.

"I dont' know." She replied sadly. "If we're gonna win this time, we're gonna need all the extra help we can get. I guess if we just participate in class and stuff we might get some extra points along the way." She helped herself to chicken wing, jsut has Liz had done."

"Yeah, I guess that's all we can do."
Liz realized that she had told Pam her life story, but hadn't heard much from her.
"So, what's your story? Mine is my mom, but what's yours?" she asked, biting down on a warm slice of bread.

Her story? Hmm, she didn't really know. She could tell her about her talent. "Can we go to the lake? Like, eh, i find it kinda weird telling it here."

That was understandable. There were a lot of people in the kitchen.
"Okay let's go. But only tell me if you want to. If you don't feel comfortable telling me, then I don't want you to. Just like with the Triwizard Tournament research." She took Pam's hand and they made their way to the lake.

Jimbo chuckled. Leilani was all adorable and small. It was nice that she was so concerned. Turning back to her he gave her an apologetic smile.

"I suppose I am aren't I?" Where would he start? At the same time that there was lots to say there was also nothing. "Well, you know Iris Beaumont. My best friend. I just recently figured out that I really like her. As like...more than a friend." Cupcake bite and chew. "Thing is, I kinda messed up with her. Sorta. And now I think she knows and I don't want to face her because I suck." And so, he eats the food. Food makes it all better. All the time.

*fall over* Okay, that explained some things. Good to know. "Oh okay." somehow, knowing that made her feel better. Like she wasn't completely confused about the world. Woot.

Leilani picked up another cupcake and bit into that one. Hungry again. "Hmm." Dramatic pause for chewing. "Well then you should un-suck, do something awesome that makes her forget you screwed up." like he could make her a bunch of cupcakes. Nom nom nom nom nom.

"That...makes sense" But what would he do? He wasn't really good at making up for things. "But I had messed up just after I apologized for messing up before that." Yes, Jimbo was a living ball of mess-up. Well, at least when it came to Monty.
Although, that whole 'un-suck' idea sounded pretty good. Jimbo's idea was to run and hide forever. So this new idea was much better.

"And what would I even DO?"

Oh now that was a good question. Hmm, well... Oh look, he screwed up twice *facepalm* "Well, what does she like? You've known her longer than I have." True. Leilani'd only met her at the end of last term.

"You don't really need to give her something, just make her remember you." If that makes sense. Like, actions speak louder than gifts and yes, I know that's supposed to say words. There. Give him something to think about.

Enya opened the door to the kitchen, stepping in and letting the door close behind her. Louisa would find her own way into the kitchen. It wasn't her problem to look after the girl. After stepping in she looked around, hoping to find some House Elves and get some food. Yum. She even smiled. Turning to see if Louisa had in fact followed her she said, "What shall we get?". Mian course, Starer, Dessert. She really didn't mind.

Enya went inside and gasped at all the house elves, making all the food! She waited for Michael to join her, not wanting to disturb the house elves.
