Jenn giggled happily as she was spun around in the air. That was one of the many advantages of being light, and short.

She smiled and sighed softly as he placed the flower in her hair. It was so pretty! AW! She touched the flower lightly, then looked up at Kel. "I'm good. A bit tired, but good." she replied, smiling. "How about you? I haven't seen you since the time I came over to your house. What have you been up to lately?"

Leave it to her to ask a lot of questions. Even if she was tired, she wasn't one to stop talking. Nope.

Smiling a small thank you, Sabel took the book from Danika almost reverently, caressing the front of the leather-bound volume before opening it. "I don't read Runes. Though I think it very impressive that there is a story written in them." Turning the pages slowly, he examined the characters on the parchment; some looked familiar, but with all their versatile meaning and being strung together as they were, he couldn't get an understanding for what was being said.

Pausing, he glanced at the other girl as she questioned his former explanation. He often forgot wizards knew very little about muggle inventions, especially those of technology. "Movies...yeah. Pictures, like in books, except they move on a white screen to tell a story. Hollywood, is one of the places they are created in. It's a place, filled with people that put them together and then present them to the general public."

Tilting his head, Sabel turned his eyes back to the book, pausing on one page to let his eyes examine the symbols. "Could you teach me?" Trailing his fingers lightly over the page he glanced back up at her. "To read Runes, like this?"

Wandering was one of those things that Jimmy couldn't help but do. He got restless and just had to keep moving. He had no idea where he even was now, aside from outside and the castle was right there behind him and all, but still if you asked him to point out on a map where his particular X was, he wouldn't have a clue. Hogwarts was BIG and he was sure that it'd take him all term to learn where everything was.

He was borderline scruffy today, having thrown on the nearest clean shirt with jeans and a sweater. untucked of course. It was good getting out into the fresh air. James took a deep breath, almost scalding his throat with the cold of it and then he spotted a mass of glossy, curly dark hair out of the corner of his eye. Of course he had to get a closer look. Crooked smile in place he approached.

"I think I'm lost." He told the girl, looking her up and down and almost managing to sound innocent.

Hayley managed to close her eyes, smelling the scent of the trees around her and--. Of course, someone always interupting her. Aggghhh. She sighed and opened back up her eyes, turning on her heel towards the boy. She watched as his eyes looked her up and down and she couldn't help but blush. Uhmm, hello? Did you not see this guy? He was....verrrrrrrryy cute, but hello, she probably had no chance.

"Lost, huh? Well let's just say I am as well." She said, jokingly. Then again that probably was true, she found her way out here and now....she didn't really know which way to go to get back inside the castle. Oh well, she would find someone...or she could ask this guy. Hehe.

"The name's Hayley Moon. What's yours?" She asked casually, getting aggravated by the wind, blowing her hair right into her face, tucking the strands of hair behind her ear and putting her hood up to stop the intense wind.

MEAN WIND, STOP MAKING ME LOOK UGLY. >=(

"I guess knowing where I was going in the first place might have helped." James mused. "But I like where I ended up." He grinned and watched her hair whip about everywhere. Dangerous stuff. Would definitely sting if he got in too close.

"James Sacheverell Wilkes." He answered with his own name. "Want to go over there? Its a little more sheltered." He gestured to a patch of wall, the wall itself in the right spot to provide shelter from the relentless breeze.

Cheekily, he offered his hand.

Quite the flirt.

Hayley smiled back in return and listened as he told her his name. Uhmm, wait a second. Did he just say...wait WHAT? Noooooooooo! This totally wasn't fair!

"One moment, please." She said politely and turned, digging into her purse to find her little notebook of lists. She took it out quickly and searched throughout her lists. Hayley's WATCH OUT! List, no, Hayley's OHEMGEE FOOD List, no, oh there it is! Hayley's BOY List. She flipped to that list and scanned it with her eyes, landing upon James' name.



"So you're a 5th Year Ravenclaw. Uhmm, you are a much bigger flirt than Finn Carmichael and you love to give compliments. You are smart and you're...hot." Hayley said reading off the list, loud enough for James to hear on purpose of course. "The bad thing is that, you're 'off limits', sorry." She shrugged. Of course she was mad about that but Sadie has already probably kissed him or whatever and maybe Sadie liked him and she wouldn't hurt her best friend like that. Meh, being nice was hard.

Oh well. She smiled once again and took his hand, letting him lead the way over to the sheltered area, away from the MEAN WIND. "Thank you, that's much better." She said fixing her hair. "Does it look alright?" She asked, fixing the frizzled mess.

STARE

"What in the hell is that?" James stared at the list she was reading off and tipped his head to one side, obviously puzzled by something.

Why wasn't he number ONE on the list? And who wrote the list? Off limits according to who? Was Hayley friends with Neptune?

And wait a minute!

"I'm not smart!" Jimmy latched on to that one thing as he led Hayley over to the wall. He held her hand for a little longer than necessary before she let go and fixed her hair.

"I like your hair."

And he was sulking.

"Off limits according to who?" Technically he was only going out with Neptune after all, the others were just friends.

Friends with nice lips that he was acquainted with intimately.

"It's my notebook of lists. I like to keep organized." Hayley said shrugging. She turned her head, with a raised eyebrow, looking into his eyes. "You're not smart? Okay suree, well I don't think my best friend would lie to me." She stated. Why would she lie about guys? That wouldn't be fair anyways.

"My list explains all the boys I've met and/or I'm attracted too or my best friend, Sadie has told me about." She said hopefully clearing up all the questions he apparently had. "The names aren't in order of who I like and don't like, and each name has a couple of details next to them and then if they are off limits or are for taking." She added. Hopefully that would make him understand this whole thing. Really, though, she thought it was quite obvious.

Her hair? He liked her hair? Okay really?

"My hair?" She asked, curiously. "Uhmm, thanks?"

"According to me. Well seeming as you kissed my best friend, Sadie Perdieu or she did, you're off limits, and I bet you already have a girlfriend with what you have got going on here." She said motioning her hand towards him, really meaning himself.

"Anyways, what brings you here to the Courtyard?" Hayley asked, hoping this was the Courtyard if it wasn't, she was truly lost and it would probably take her an hour to get out of here.

Huh. That was interesting.

"Lists, huh? Thats kind of cool. But you know, what if you offend people? I mean, the ones that don't get on your list?" Because if they're on the list in the company of Jimmy in all his awesomeness, then obviously they were lucky.

James sat down comfortably, stretching his legs out in front of him and crossing them at the ankle.

"Maybe I'm just smarter than she is." Did that make him smart though? Not necessarily. He grinned and shrugged. "Don't tell anyone I've got more than half a brain, I'd hate people to expect things from me, you know?"

"Yeah, your hair. I like the colour... and it looks soft." He tried to look innocent but failed due to the range of thoughts currently in his head.

"What if I don't want to be off limits? How is that fair to me, huh?" And wait. "Sadie? Me and Sadie, we don't have labels. We agreed on that." He told Hayley casually. But she was sort of right about the girlfriend thing.

"Depends who you ask." he hedged. "Technicalities. I mean, technically I'm not really properly going out with anyone. Much." She'd kind of decided that they were at one point. Jimmy had rolled with it for snogging purposes. and now? Well, the train had been fun....

"Maybe it was you who brought me here." He suggested with a grin. "Drew me in like gravity."

Offend people? Hmm, she never really thought about it. "Well I don't think it would offend people if I never met them or haven't heard of them. They're all good things anyhow. I would never write bad things about people, that would just cause drama." She said honestly.

Hayley took a seat next to James and shivered as the wind blew past her once again. She hated the slightly cold air and the wind. Okay the wind was nice but not when it messed up her pretteh hair.

She laughed as he told her not to tell anyone about his 'smartness'. "I would never. Then again you're the first person I told about this list. So feel special." She smiled. Hehe.

So her hair seemed soft and the color was nice? Hmm, well then. "Yup, quite the flirt. She got that right." She winked towards him. "Thanks."

How to be off limits? Uhmm, she never really thought about that. Sure that wasn't fair to the guy but his lips touched her best friend's lips and that just wasn't right...uhmm right? "I...I don't know. I guess it all just depends what happens between me and the guy." Hayley shrugged. Wow she should've thought about how this whole thing would've worked out before she pulled out the list and told him.

Not really going out with someone...much? "I'm not too sure what that's supposed to mean." She said confused.

"Wow, I'm sorry. This is getting way too personal already." Hayley said shaking her head at herself. She probably shouldn't have brought that up in the first place.

"Good. No need for drama." Jim grinned, quite relaxed about the whole thing now.

"I do feel special." He agreed. How crazy was it that his reputation, as it was, had totally got around before he had? It was like he didn't even have to do anything. It was kind of awesome.

"Pssshh if you really want me to turn on the charm, I totally can." Jimmy shrugged. He could throw out lines like the best of them, but he always found that if he was more genuine about it, it had a better result. He never lied. "But you're welcome."

"Fair enough." He considered it. "You wouldn't want to miss out on making a good friend -who happens to be an awesome kisser by the way- just because of a list after all." Jimmy grinned lopsidedly he was only half serious and not so bothered by the whole thing as he had been before. That had been more surprise than anything.

"Its okay, I don't mind a little bit of intimacy." He answered lightly. heeeheee. "Its just that I'm sort of dating someone? But... I think we're just friends and its just that she likes attention and we were hanging out a lot last year and there kind of wasn't anyone else. And I never technically asked her out, but I think she assumed. She's a brat like that." Pretty brat though. Blonde. Jimmy was going out of his blonde phase, but not quite sure where he stood on his Neptune phase.

Kel grinned brightly at Jenn's smile. Weird; he was more hyper than she was, today. This was definitely a momentous occasion. Why was he so hyper? And more importantly, why wasn't she?

Ah, so that answered his question. She was tired. "It's the start of the term, Jenn, why are you tired?" he teased, winking at her. "I'm great - so glad to be back at Hogwarts, as always." Even though he was now out of his house and on his own, he couldn't beat the feel of being back at the castle - even though he wasn't the only one in his dormitory.

"I haven't done anything, really." Whoa, he was talking fast. Odd. "I entered the Tournament, though." he smiled sort of sheepishly at her, wondering how she'd react. "I can't decide if I want to be chosen, or not."

Jenn laughed. Kel sure was in a good mood. "You know, I honestly don't know! Maybe it's because I find that staring at a full moon is quite enjoyable. Ssssssh. I'm a werewolf." she teased, laughing. She was starting to feel like herself. Happy, full of life. Slowly though. "What if you were a mermaid, and I was a werewolf? It would be quite an odd relationship yes?" Ah yes. Random question number one. But seriously she wanted to know. It was quite the question.

"You entered too!" she gasped, her eyes widdening. "So did I! And I agree, I can't descide if I want to be picked or not. It's quite confusing yes? Although the foreign people are quite cute." she winked, grinning slyly up at him.

Mermaid?

Blink. BlinkBlink.

"I believe the term is 'Merman.'" Kel corrected, one eyebrow raised questioningly. "And I've heard that Merpeople aren't exactly... pleasant. So yeah, it'd be a weird relationship." He couldn't help but laugh at this. Thank Merlin he wasn't a Merman, and Jenn wasn't a werewolf. "I suppose that if that were to happen, though, we'd make it work. You could... visit me in the lake during your wolfy faze." See? Compromise.

Again; BlinkBlink. "You entered?" The question that was meant to sound curious ended up sounding as if Kel had stuck a pumpkin down his throat. Silently, he hoped that Jenn would NOT be chosen. He wouldn't be able to watch her do those three tasks - no matter what they were. ANYWAY NEW SUBJECT. His eyebrow raised again. He had the urge to casually mention the beautiful French girls now walking around Hogwarts, but thought better of it.

"I'm quite cuter than any of the foreigners." He said confidently, as if that settled that matter.

Jenn laughed at his anwser and comment on the subject. "My wolfy faze? I don't know. I migh accidently bite you. And then you'd be a hairy mermaid...I mean merman. You'd become a new species of magical creature! They'd study you for hours..."she frowned and her eyes narrowed slightly. "Let's hope you don't go fishy on me, and then become hairy." The thought of others looking at Kel with a passion just didn't sit with her right.

Jenn cocked her head to the side slightly. What was wrong with him? "Well, you entered too you know." Some how her voice cracked slightly too, despite her efforts for it to not. "Maybe we'll get lucky and..." she didn't finish her sentence. He knew. She didn't want either of them to be picked. What if something happened to him? What would she do?

Shaking her head, she smirked up at him. "Oh yes. You put their cuteness to shame. I don't know what came over me to think such a thing." She slapped her forehead lightly, rolling her eyes.

She'd been worrying over that answer. In all honesty, Danika was glad he didn't know how to read Runes, it was a very selfish reason, but she was glad. Non-magicals weren't supposed to be linked to magic, and Ancient Runes was one language belonged with magicals only.

Therefore, she was glad.

"Vut do you not study it here?" she still had to ask, because it would be strange if that class wasn't taught in Hogwarts. "As far as languages go, Ancient Runes is to magic like Greek or Latin to Europe, Sanskrit to India, Sumerian to Mesopotamia" she said with a nod, as she gave him a few examples, "It could also ve like Akkadian, Assydian and Arameic to the Middle East, if one is talking avout spoken language" another nod, and the lightest red highlights of her hair were enhanced by the little sun there was.

In other words, a very magical language indeed. Even if Latin was a preferred one between the magical world.

"Many stories are vritten in Runes, vut it is hard to find a vook" like the child's one, Tales of Beedle the Bard, that was one she had in Iceland, all written in Runes. Her brother had the one in Icelandic, though.

Oh, but wait! The non-magicals! Danika nodded, "Right, like our pictures" the movement and all, she did know that the non-magical pictures didn't move at all, "So, like if you put together a picture and a play" she suddenly felt like going to a theater and watch a play or perhaps the ballet in Russia.

But she was a long way from home.

Danika was about to ask Sabel something else when her eyes were stuck on the boy eying the book with great interest. She forgot her previous question.

Now she was at another crossroads. First the deal and Zitnik, now teaching him Runes and her desire to leave the most magical out of the non-magicals related field. She didn't know, "As a language?" because if he wanted to learn to interpret them, then she'd had no problem at all.

"I hear its posted on the notice board..." Cass offered.

No help. Hmm. "Do you like Care of Magical Creatures?" Psh, everybody liked that one. And Leilani would be able to show her pretty easily. It wasn't too far from here, come to think of it.

Besides, she'd heard they had a new CoMC Proffesor this year and she wanted to meet them. But, she could go later if Cass didn't want to.

Cass shrugged. CoMC was alright for her. She wasn't that attached to dirt and stuff, but she liked animals...so she smiled up at Leilani and said "Yeah, I like it. Why?"

"Exactly, none here." Hayley said nodding. She absolutely hated drama and she never brought it around. Only in some circumstances she practically had to if drama caught up with her. Meh.

Did she want him to turn on the charm? "Uhmm, I think I've had enough big egos for one day." She merely shrugged. It seemed almost every guy she had met had one bigggg ego....or was friends with Savannah.

"See this-" Hayley said motioning the space between the two, "would never work out." She shivered at the thought of him kissing Sadie. YUCK. Then again they always could be just friends, she had tons of friends who were guys. "Anyways, let's start this over, seeming as I came off a little too....uhm...upfront. What do you like to do in your free time?" She asked curiously.

"Hmm, well maybe you should talk to your 'girlfriend' about that situation? That way you two can finally understand what each other is thinking. Just throwing thoughts out here though, feel free not to take them." Hayley said, realizing that now she felt like a fortune cookie again. Ugh.

Kale was tired, exhausted, annoyed, and lonely. He was not even at Hogwarts for the past week, his grandfather was very sick and his mother and him went to spend time with him at the hospital. It was so scary being in there. Plus Kale was worried about all that he had missed when he was gone from school. He miss Lani more than anything...they weren't an offical couple yet, but they did spend alot of time together not to mention all the chemistry that went on between them. Kale smiled just thinking about her.

Kale sat down in a bench in the courtyard by himself...wondering what to do.

Continuing to flip through the pages slowly, Sabel listened quietly and attentively to Danika. A small frown furrowed his brow at the mention of Runes just being like another language. Had he missed something in their Ancient Runes class? Or perhaps he had been too evaluative of the multiple meanings that they could carry. Whatever the case, he was surprised to learn that Runes weren't simply a divination tool, but an actual language.

"That's one way to describe film and television." He nodded in agreement at her interpretation of moving pictures combined with plays, smiling softly at the unique way of understanding it. Perhaps, once she was more comfortable with a world of non-wizards, he could suggest her going to see one, if only just for the experience.

But his attention was quickly turned to her addressment, and he blinked up at her a little. "Would...that be okay? We have an Ancient Runes class here, but they teach you more of the predicting and interpreting aspect than how to read or understand them as a language. This," he ran his fingers over the page again, "is fascinating." Blinking he spared a glance at the symbols and then at her, slightly confused. "Does that mean you can speak it too?"

Enya strode into the Courtyard, not a care in the world. Well she missed Lukas but wouldn't say. Sigh. When she looked around the area around her she noticed many people - but not many places to sit. Shame. Sigh. Walking forward she noticed some older kid sitting alone, looking upset. Aww. she thought to herself walking over. She fell into the seat next to him, accidently hitting his leg but not saying sorry.

Sigh.

She wondered what this conversation was going to lead.

Kale quickly looked up when his leg was hit, secretly he was hoping it was Lani, but instead it was just a little girl. "Excuse me?" Kale said to her moving a little further down the bench so they weren't right on top of each other. "Didn't you notice me sitting here?" Kale blushed a little when his lisp was displayed yet again. He always got so embarassed when he spoke that most of the time he just tried not to. "Well never mind, it's doesn't matter much anyway." Kale was too upset already to get more upset over that.

Enya sighed, turning to look at the older boy. She had been hoping for some quite, but she knew now that she had sat down that wouldn't happen. She ignored the boys first sentence and instead decided to tackle the second. Well dah course she had seen him, she just chosen to ignore him. She shrugged, "Of course i saw you but doesn't mean i have to say hi or anything" She said sarcasticly towards him. Sigh.

Enya noticed he had blushed and all, making her giggled. Aww he was so embarressed. Brillient! "How come it doesn't matter? I've taken your seat and all" She said sweetly, wondering what awful thing she would do to him.
