"Aww.. You're no fun. She was a puppy when she did it anyway. Errr.. she still is a puppy." A reaaaaally big puppy. About one and a half years to be exact. "She wouldn't do it again.. unless i told her to." he grinned mischievously at the brunette before him. "No comment? You're no fun." he fake pouted as he crossed his arms. "But i think you like to blush. Even if you won't admit to it."

Jayce smiled reassuringly at Hayley and released her wrist from the grasp of his hand. He was so use to steadying people and catching them before they fell that it had somewhat become a second instinct to him. It was kind of strange.. but when you're at Hogwarts, you tend to trip a whole lot more often. At least that's how he saw it. "Oh really?" he laughed at what she had just shared. "Sounds like fun." he grinned. "Nope. I'm an only child." Well.. if you wanted to count all of the other orphanage kids whom he use to live with, then maybe he did have siblings.. but he didn't live there anymore.

"Oh well I guess that changes things then." Hayley said with a smile. Unless he told her too? "Then I would be mad at you." She said crossing her arms with a smirk. Whattt? "What? I'm totally fun." She said frowning. "And I don't like to blush, it's just around cute guys when it happens." She frowned again.

"Yup." She said remembering the times of pranking on Jason. Then he said he was an only child and she nodded, understanding his situation. "Well at least you have Opal." She said with a smile.

Jayce glanced at the statues nervously before looking back into Hayley's eyes. "Yeah. She was a pup." he grinned at the memory that clouded his mind momentarily. "You'd be upset with me if i asked Opal to nibble on your shoes? Well, you won't have to worry about that just yet. She's not exactly here at the moment." he chuckled. "I know, i'm just kidding." he smiled, and nudged her a bit. Waaaaaiiiiiit. "Only cute guys?" Jay beamed.

Jayce shrugged, unsure of how to really elaborate on the whole subject. Family was a touchy subject for him. "Yeah. I'm glad i do have her. But you know what really helps?" Jay paused. "Friends." he said finally.

"Nahhh, I wouldn't be upset, I just would be.....uhm...I'd probably just laugh." Hayley said with a smile. That would be funny, but she really wouldn't recommend it. She would like her shoes with no wholes. Only cute guys? Uhmm, yes. She nodded her head and looked up at him, looking up into his eyes. Wait a second, why did she not notice his eyes before? Oh gosh, now she was going to get lost and not really pay attention to what he was saying. Uh oh.

Friends? The only thing she heard was friends and she just slowly nodded as she continued looking into his eyes. It was like a piece of art, on a very cute boy. Hehe. She smiled a little and didn't have that thought in her head that she was acting like a dork that entire minute, so she stood there smiling and....staring into his eyes. Weirdo.

Preston bite the side of his cheek as he contemplated it. Pres? Like...Present? He shrugged his shoulders. "Sure." He agreed, just wanting the moustache and candy already.

Preston stood as still as he could making sure he didn't mess up Jim as he drew the moustache on his upper lip, he didn't want to go around wearing a messed up one, now did he? "H-h-how d-does it l-look?" He asked when Jim stopped drawing. He gave him a goofy smile wishing he had a camera so he could send it home to his father.

Preston took the candy from Jim and shrugged his shoulders. "I-I-I h-h-have-haven't m-met m-m-many k-k-kids m-my age y-y-yet." He told Jim shrugging his shoulders once again.

Jayce grinned. He would have to keep this statement in mind. Hmm.. Maybe he should get it in writing. Like a contract or something. Then, when it did happen, because he would surely make it happen now, she wouldn't be able to yell at him for it. Smiiiiiiiiiiiiiirk. Jayce arched both or his eyebrows as she nodded. Ohhhh yeahhh. She just called him cute without really saying it. Mwahaha. Jay felt accomplished.

Jayce looked down and realized that Hayley was staring at his eyes. Errrrr. He waited for her to stop.. but.. she didn't.Raising an eyebrow, he grew quite confused. He pulled up his hands and began waving frantically in front of her eyes. He even threw in a couple of snaps. "Errr... Hayley? You alright there?" He asked, concerned.

SMIRK? DID HE JUST-

Hayley narrowed her eyes at Jayce. "Now you're just doing it on purpose, that isn't fair!" She said crossing her arms across her chest, with a fake pout upon her face. Hehehehe.

Hayley shook her head, out of her spacing out and laughed. "Sorry, your eyes are really pretty." She said taking another look and then back to his face.....where his eyes were located, okay weird but yeah.

So...change subject! "So who would you say is your best friend?" She asked curiously.

You hit 9000! Yaaay! *ish slow*
 

FACEPALM.

"Gahh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that time. I was just.. just thinking about something. I didn't do it intentionally. I promise." He threw in a nod and an earnest smile, because he truly didn't mean to make her blush.

Jayce laughed along with Hayley. "Oh.. thanks." he grinned happily, and then inspected her eyes. "Yours are pretty too." he replied. Her eyes were pretty, but he liked her smile as well. Jay definitely had a thing for girls and their smiles.

Jay's eyes drifted down her face a bit, and his eyes laid on her lips. Waiting.. Just waiting for her to smile. "Hmm.. Best friend.. Probably Eirian. She's the same age as us, but in Slytherin." Yeap, yeap. "We both transferred in on the same day, we sorta came in at the same time too." he chuckled, thinking back at the memory. "What about you? Have you made any good friends yet?"

"Thinking about something?" Hayley said tilting her head to the side. "Thinking about what, exactly?" She asked curious. If he smirked it must have been something badddd or good? Nahh, probably bad. Hehe.

Awwww he thought my eyes were prettyyy too! Total, EEEEKKK moment right thuuurrr. Then...uhmm was he staring at my lips? Well then....uhmm........what do I doooooo?

Best friend was Eirian? "Sorry I don't know her." Hayley shrugged. "Well that's great that you have a girl as your best friend. She must give you tons of great advice." She said nodding.

Good friends? Hmm, YES!

"Yup, my best friend so far is Sadie. She likes to tell me alllll about the boys around here, I'll show you my list, if you would like to see." Hayley said not waiting for a response but opening the notebook of her lists up and then before showing him, scribbling down a couple more names and some notes. "Here you go." She said handing him the notebook and giving him the award-winning SMILE.

After momentarily allowing his eyes to wander, they were back on Hayley as she spoke. "Ohh nothing." Jay stared at the ceiling avoiding eye contact and whistled. It was his way of pretending he was a completely innocent guy. Which.. he wasn't.

After staring at Hayley's lips, he shook his head, to get it out of his system. He'd have to wait for that smile, which he wasn't sure that he was happy about. He wanted to see it noooow. Gahhh.

"Well, that's alright." he replied. "I'm sure you'll meet her eventually. I'll probably introduce you both anyway. Once i get a chance of course.. Orrr... If we all go to class together.. that would be another way." NodNod. "Well yeah, when i need girl advice, or anything really, i know i can always go to her."

"Well, that's good." He replied but laughed when she told him about all of the boys. "So, she's an expert on the boys of Hogwarts?" Jayce couldn't help but laugh. He'd never even met this 'Sadie.' Errrrrr. Jayce took the notebook as it was shoved at him, and scanned the list. He hadn't met any of the people on the list.. "So.. I'm hot, nice, i have flippy hair, pretty eyes ANND I love dogs? C'mon, i'm awesome." He waggled his eyebrows for her. "aaaannd I'm open for the taking?" Whaaaa?

Hayley shook her head at Jayce with a smirk upon her face. "You were thinking of something and sooner or later I'll find out, Mr." She said poking him in the shoulder. Hehehehe.

Going to class with his best friend? Uhmm, would that be a good thing? Surely she would have to get on his best friend's good side that way she would like her and maybe something would work out between her and Jayce?....That is if he ever breaks up with Trixie, which will probably never happen.

Hayley blushed as he read off the things she put beside his name. Oh wait! "Oh, no. I messed something up." She said taking her quill and notebook out of his hands, crossing out the words 'OPEN FOR TAKING'. and writing, 'OFF LIMITS.' "Sorry, you're off limits actually. You're dating someone." She shrugged.

Ella happily walked down the corridor, Ling's book in her hand. She'd finished it - and what a wonderful book it had been! - and wanted to give it back to him. But that didn't explain why her heart was racing so much to see him, now did it? Seeing him, she gave him a huge smile. "How have you been, Ling?" Ella asked, giving the boy a hug. Hmm.. something smelled very nice.. and fresh. Huh. "I wanted to give this back to you," Ella told him, showing him the book in her hands, "It was fantastic. I actually didn't expect it to be that good," she admitted. But it had been. Ling was beyond her with his amazing ways. "What have you been up to?" she asked, looking at the statues, then back at him.

His final detachment from his friendship with Emmy had left him feeling kind of depressed as of late. he hadn't meant to go off on her that rudely but what else could he say? He wasn't going to lie to her anymore--he had fallen for somebody else. She was not only a sweeter person but one couldn't get more down-to-earth and easy to talk to. She was deep and she knew how to bring a smile to his face, even when he had the worst day imaginable. That is what exactly Ella did when he saw her traipsing down the corridor and it was the most wonderful feeling--even her presence seemed to light up the world around him.

"Ella!" Ling called out gleefully before hugging her back, weary of his gift for her "I've been great, how about you? Oh, that's awesome to hear! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have something to give to you as well." He beamed and then produced the sunflower for her. "Here."

OOH. A sunflower! Ella smiled in delight. "Awww, thanks!" she said absentmindedly, too focused on Ling and his flower to keep note on what she was saying. That little gesture had just turned her day around, making it much more exciting than it probably would have been without Ling. She sat down on the bottom of the statue, admiring her flower. Verrry nice. And it smelled great as well, too. Her heart was hammering against her chest; she had to know if Ling felt the same way as she did. She stood up again to where he stood, closer this time than usual. "I really like you, Ling.." she said softly, looking straight at him with a lot of confidence. What beautiful eyes. Her heart wasn't slowing down at all. This was the moment that she'd know if she was rejected.. or not.

"Don't mention it..." the fifth year boy answered softly, fixated on the very pretty brunette. They hadn't known each other forever but if he didn't know better, he was convinced they could have been best friends for years. She was one of the sweetest girls he had ever met. She was selfless, cheerful, and she always knew how to make him laugh. That was how it should be.

He was fed up of being around girls who bossed him around and yelled at him or cried over practically nothing. *cough Emmy cough* Those kinds of girls were so obsessed with themselves and they never appreciated anything a guy like him had to offer. They weren't worth getting upset over because it wasn't until later, they would realize that they didn't have it so bad with a nerd. He wasn't going to let the fight he had with the prissy drama queen affect the great relationship he had with Ella right now. It was too amazing of a moment to wreck with those thoughts.

"I really like you too, Ella..." Ling answered quietly before he slowly drew towards her. His heart was pounding a mile a minute and before he knew it, he had latched his lips onto hers.

Ella looked up at Ling; her gaze fixed on him intently and not going anywhere else. Their connection had been so instant, it seemed unnatural. Yes, she usually did connect with people fast, but that was when she got to know them. With Ling it was like a leap into the comfort zone without having to have known each other for the longest time. And it felt very nice.

He made her feel so safe and happy. It was a familiar feeling – she’d had it once before when she had been Nate’s girlfriend. Obviously, things between them were much different now. She was glad she was still friends with him, because that was the way it was supposed to really be between them. He’d taught her a lot; now, she felt prepared for a new relationship. Nate had moved on instantly and had a girlfriend that he’d already set his eyes on before he broke up with Ella. But now, he was gone. Gone to a different school.

Before her now was Ling, who made her feel so special. Maybe she was jumping in too fast, but she couldn’t listen to her mind because he was already close; and the feeling was magical. Nothing could ruin the perfect moment between them. Then his lips touched hers, and she kissed him. Electric vibes were running through her, and goosebumps that felt good ran up her arms. Her eyes closed, she absorbed the moment and was sure never to forget it.

Ling was, at last, feeling more content with his life than he ever had before. No longer did he have to bottle his feelings up for fear of embarrassing himself and the girl he was with. He felt at leisure to say whatever he wanted at that moment and all of it would have been geared towards how fantastic Ella was. Still, he kept silent. The junction was too perfect to spoil with his jumbled words.

This was what affection supposed to be like. He might have started up anxious and unsure of when to make a move, when to come clean about his true emotions but now he was totally at ease. Nothing mattered to him at the moment besides keeping his most favorite person in the world happy and that was not a task at all--it was a fantastic privilege. He'd be more than happy to oblige with whatever she wanted at this point. If she wanted him to scream his ardor to everybody outside, then he'd most certainly do it.

She didn't speak yet and he mutely wondered if she was as spellbound as he was. This had happened fairly quickly but it wasn't out of sudden impulse like it had been with Emmy last year. The brief relationship/lust with her had been nothing more than a faint and frankly annoying memory. This connection meant so much more to him--Ella was far prettier, funnier, and all-around, just more awesome of a person and she had stolen his heart completely.

Adam had been walking around when he saw some statues. He stopped and turned to look at them, reading the engraving on the plaque . It was interesting to see that these statues were built after very brave people who had saved or helped the school from some sort of trouble.

Rubiey needed to get out of the common room. It was doing her head in. You couldn't have a proper conversation without anyome earwigging. It was annoying.

She had wandered around for about half an hour, when she stumbled across the swamp thing from the Weasley twins, and the statues. Andddd..

A boy. A Gryffindor boy. She had seen him before. She walked up to him and smiled. "Hi, I'm Rubiey. I've seen you around the common room before." She said politely.

"Oh hello."Adam said excitedly, shaking her hand. "I'm Adam...I don't think I've seen you yet, but a friend has told me about you...Are you helping someone with their Quidditch Practice, because if you are, I'd like to join...I wanna try out next year... Adam Burn firstie also.."

Rubiey laughed. "Yeah, I suggested to someone I'd teach them how to play. I've been playing since I was about 3. It's great fun. Of course you can join in! What position were you thinking of playing?" She asked. That way, she could teach on the floor first, then get into the air..

"I'm thinking I could be a good keeper...But at my first flying class, I hurt myself a little, got a sore leg, because my broom was swinging up and down...So I need to practice me flying also...Before I can even think about flying in the air."He laughed. "What position do you play?"

"Yeah, you have the build of a typical keeper. We'll work on the floor first; build up your confidence with a few bewitched balls, and while we do that you can go to more flying lessons. I can teach you how to balance on your broom if you like. It can be hard, not holding onto it properly, but you get used to it." She smiled. "Seeker, usually. But I'm a fair beater too." She grinned; she certainly could whack the balls out of the air. She had good reflexes too.

"Yeah, I read up on beaters, I don't really understand what they do...MY friend Edmond is thinking of being a beater,if I remember correctly..."Adam looked into space. "Seekers, usually but not always win the games, correct?"He asked trying to remember back to reading the book from the library.

Oooooh, so he was completely new to Quidditch. Right. "The beaters are there to protect the team from the violent bludgers. They hit them with.. short baseball bats, I guess. Yeah, you're right. The majority of the time, when the seeker catches the golden ball (snitch) they win the game, because that means they gain an extra 150points, and the game is ended." She stopped to draw breath. "Hope I haven't overwhelmed you." She said, smiling slightly.
