She smiled when he asked about her cello. Not many people did that. "Well, my parents had wanted my sister Alice to play it, but she never really got it. And seeing as I wasn't allowed to do things as she did, I picked it up whenever I could and tought myself to play." She ran a hand down the polished wood. "I like the way it feels, I guess, as opposed to a viola or violin or guitar. I like the sound it makes. It's deep and powerful, yet light." She reached up and touched the small scar on her neck where a string had broken and it struck her. She turned so they could see it. "And it's the only instrument to fight me back," she laughed.
Ari just smiled, "Not a problem. I have friends with wierder and more annoying idiosyncrasies than short-term memory loss." It was true. But she didn't mind.
She felt the corners of her mouth droop slightly as they both asked about where she'd been. "Before I was here, I was forced to go to a school for the disabled," Ari had to force the word, "where I spent actually five years there, but I decided, at fifteen, I wouldn't accept 'no' for an answer anymore, so I came here, even though I was placed in the fourth year." She compulsively touched her glasses, making sure they stayed close to her eyes, "I was never suppossed to come here, according to my parents, but they don't seem to understand that being blind is nothing more than a label. I certainly don't think I'm dis-abled. I see more than most people," she nodded.

"Well I've been here since my first year... but this isn't the first school I went to." She shrugged. Stupid foreign schools. "I spent my first two years at different schools. One at Beauxbatons but I failed my first year there. The other was at Dumstrang, but again I failed my first year there." Stupid jerks hiding all he school things. "So I came here and passed my first and they even skipped me over my second year to my third year because I was overly prepared for it." When I should be in my fourth, she thought bitterly. But she was planning on skipping it altogehter because she was reading the books for her fifth year already.
"I'm sorry you forced to go somewhere you didn't want to," Daisy said not mentioning her shock at finding out the Ari was blind. Daisy could be so oblivious at times. Why else would someone where glasses like that in a school anyway? "I bet you have really good hearing and sense of smell, touch, and taste though. That usually happens, at least that's what I've heard."
"So you went to learn how to play the cello like its nobody's business?" Salander grinned as Ari. Wow, if she wanted something this girl really wasnt taking no for an answer. Kinda reminded him of himself. Heh.
"Thats true." he replied. "The cello is very calming to hear, but gives off this resonance that is unlike any stringed instrument." Well looks like little Salander getting bored around the seats as his father rehearsed with his orchestra had paid off. It actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
He leaned over when Arienna showed them her scar. "Whoah, that looked like it hurt a lot!" he replied "How'd you get that?"
He flashed the rock sign at Daisy when she approved of his music. Alright! Another one that can rock to the beat like he would!
He tilted his head when the girls relayed their own misadventures prior to Hogwarts "You went through both Beauxbaton and Durmstrang?" he asked curiously at Daisy. "So are those people as fun as the 'honored guests' that we have here?" he snorted.
"I wasnt the favorite of my schools' faculty either. 'Went through 4 schools before ending up here." he nudged his head in the general direction of the castle. "But yeah none of my schools asked me to repeat, maybe those Profs teaching the same levels talk to each other and none of them wanted me back for another round." he snickered
He furrowed his brow thoughtfully after Ari explained her schooling. "Well, I can see where the fighting spirit came from now. Sure sucks to be treated like your less than everybody else just cuz you go against the norm." And aint Salander anything but the norm.

She didn't let it bother her too much anymore. "Let's just say the people visiting are just as bad as the whole school. All they care about is blood status. Today was.. different. He hadn't even had breakfast. And it was getting lateeee. He didn't know what time exactly, but his personal-tummy-clock said it was late, and his personal-tummy-clock was always right. Adam nodded to himself, looking like a fool in the middle of the corridor, but he didn't care.
HE WAS GETTING FOOD.
- HRRRRMFT. At least, he thought he was, until someone ran and hit him HARD in the tummy. Blinking and stepping back for a few paces, Adam looked down to the girl who'd bumped into him. A girl who looked a little familiar.
There again, everyone in the Castle looked familiar - he saw most people all of the time. But she was.. "Cate!" he cried. No wait, that wasn't right. Frowning, he mulled it over. Last time he saw this girl he'd been hyper, and incredibly so, what with the extra-large sugar quills. "Cally?!" he tried again, a little less enthusiastic, a little more hesitant this time.
That was right, yeah?
Well looking where she was going, something that she wished she consintrated on.Her head now thumped after crashing into something very solid and strong. Shaking her head and then rubbing it once again, she half smiled as she saw the face now looking half shocked, half concerned down on her.
She grinned softly as the boy contimplated on her name.Cate? Not quite, the right letter though. Yes this boy she knew. Adam. She smiled softly as she continued to rub her very saw head.Who knew walking in to someones chest could hurt so much. She giggled softly as he got it right.
"Adam! Hey, you got there in the end"she giggled. She looked at him with a nodd and smiled."Yes you have defintately gotten taller!"she said with a short nodd."Sorry about that, lack of sleep often.. and in this case ends in zilch consintration."she said.
"So yeah, sorry about thaat.. How you been?"she said realising it had been ages since she had last seen him. He was hyped on some very sugary quills.

"Yeah," she chuckled, although it was quite by accident that she developed passion for the cello. It started as nothing more than complete boredom. But now? Not so much.
In reaction to her scar, Ari smiled. "Well, I guess I should start by saying that my sister Alice was...or is... the one who had been planned to go to Hogwarts, play the cello, and yada yada yada, have a wonderful life. My parents never... gave...much...confidence in me," she explained, "but my sister had no patience to learn to play. Anyway, after having a long argument with my mother one day, when I was about ten or eleven, she tells me I can't do the things Alice can because I'm blind. The string broke, as well as a picture of Alice that was on the mantle of the fireplace.
"That's how my family discovered I was as much of a wizard as them. This scar is a reminder to me that failure is always temporary, and, overall, not an option." Bam. Ari got motivational SKEELS!

She ran her hand down the cello again, "Now if colors could be identified by sound..." she smiled wide, "I would have no trouble."

"Whoah" the lad whispered when Ari recounted her tale, his eyes resting on her scar again. "So its a physical reminder of something you shouldnt forget... thats kinda cool!. Wouldnt Salander want to have some sort of physical reminder so he wouldnt be so forgetful? But if those would be scars, he would be covered with them that he would be virtually unrecognizable. Such is the state of his memory.
"So your family thought that just 'cuz your blind you're helpless with magic? Thats..."incredibly stupid "... really unfair-- to you and to your sister. Couldnt figure out which is worse though-- Being passed over by people who are supposed to support you, enhance your potential, or bearing all the wishes of a family regardless if you want it or not." the lad shook his head "Well at least you managed to finally convince your folks to send you here, whatever happened to your sister? Did she 'live up to the family's expectations'" he gestured, having known what it was like to have that phrase applied to him.
"But couldnt colors be identified by sound?" he offered "I mean for example, like you said, the color red-- sure we see it as a color, but also triggers an emotion from us, we feel brave when we see red, or fury or love or danger. Surely music would be able to express these emotion also and therefore could give off "colors"?"

I don't think I could ever want to be blind. Not that it's a bad thing but I'm use to sight. I'd be lost without it." That's probably how Ari felt about being blind. She's used to it and it'd probably be weird to see.
SPOILER!!: Salander

"Well I agree with the whole blood concept as for the House concept, I agree to an extent. I think it's stupid to separate people based upon personality but at the same time I get why." Daisy felt her head begin to form the words slowly so she wouldn't sound so stupid. "If we all chose where we wanted to be then there is a slight possibility for more... well drama. I guess by grouping people together with the same personality you can save some of that trouble on finding something in common with one another; and even being separated you get the choice to be friends with whom you wish. Like me. I have friends from all houses and even me and a great amount of the Slytherins are good friends." She also had some junk about after Hogwarts how it provides you a look into the future because everything was separated into sub groups but she wasn't going into that.
"And I agree you could find out colors through music.I mean picture it could be a little more complicated but when I think of blue I think of the freezing cold and snow. Or for orange it's almost like Halloween with the sound of bags full of candy and maybe even thanksgiving, thought that is more of a brown sound I guess." Nodding at the end she smiled even bigger.

Ari decided to keep her mouth shut about the division of houses and the subject of bloodlines. They had their points, but... she was going to keep quiet all the same.
"Well," she mumbled, knowing her family's reasoning, "it's the whole...eye-contact thing. Same with apparation. You have to have a picture of where you want to be. But I've never had trouble with spells, just because I can't see." She gave a small laugh, "Maybe I can be the exception to the rule.
"Alice has moved out and is living by herself now. She's not doing fantastic things, but she's not doing bad things, either. So she's not that much of a disappointment to my family... But I love her all the same."

Ari nodded her head, understanding...sort of...what Daisy was saying.
Then she had to disagree with them both. "It's not that simple, though. Definition of color is so subjective. The color red, it can be used to show hate or anger, but isn't it also connected with love? The color green sometimes shows sickness, but at the same time represents health and nature. There is no way to define color. It is simply impossible." The word tasted odd in Ari's mouth, but it was true. Color, emotion, and music could not be combined into a defanite, universal medium. Could not.
"But if it was possible, then, I assure you, I would be the first to learn how."

Callie was bored.
And boredom was something which she did not like to put up with, but she usually did because if she was bored then she had nothing to do and all that, yeah you get the picture. She'd been wandering round the castle for about 20 minutes when she found herself on what she thought to be the seventh floor. It was too cold to go outside, so she'd decided to spread some more of her prettiness around inside. Shrugging her shoulders, she stood by a random wall, looking up and down the corridor.

Beck didn't know why he was here.
He didn't like his girlfriend anymore she was a witch and he didn't mean that in a nice way. Right now he wanted to punch the wall that was right next too him. He was ready to punch the wall to but he put his arm down. Why was he doing this it was right and he knew it. Why? Why? Why?

Callie was just standing around minding everyone elses business, yeah she wasn't one to stay quiet, when she spotted someone looking a little angry. Or that was what she presumed seen as they looked just about ready to punch the wall. And then they put there arm down. Well, that was something you didn't see everyday. She paused for a few seconds before calling out "Someone seems a bit angry." Hopefully he didn't decide to come punch her now. EEP.

Beck turned around to see a girl. "I'm sorry." Beck said, his French accent still sounding wicked awesome. "Don't worry I'm not mad at you and I won't ounch you." he said putting his arm down and away from the wall. He didn't know what to say. Poor Beck. Frown.

Callie gave the boy a small smile, he seemed like he needed one. "Its...fine." He hadn't even done anything to apologise for but she wasn't complainging. "Good. It'd be weird if you were mad at me, cus we like...just met." Was everyone French around here ? Well, Chandler didn't go to Hogwarts yet but he was still French and this dude sounded French..Shrug. "Callie by the way. Callie Parker." she said taking a few steps forward so she was standing next to the boy.

Beck smiled back. He needed a smile to calm him down. "It's nice to meet you Callie Parker." Beck said. Beck leaned up against the wall. "I'm Beck Salvatore." Beck said sweetly. "I'm a sixth year Hufflepuff." He told her. But all that was on his mind was CHANELLA and he just hated his girlfriend right now and just wanted to scream but it was good that he was good at staying calm. He too a deep breath in and let it out slowly to calm himself.

Callie kept her smile on her face. She was in a rather 'nice' mood today which was odd. "Nice to meet you too." She replied, watching as he leaned up against the wall. "Cool name," She'd not met anyone called Beck, like ever. She hadn't heard most of the names around here though, they were all Englishy names. "Sounds cool. Im fourth year, Slytherin." She said with a small shrug. More questions, more questions. Ummmm. "So is this like your first year here ?"

Beck shrugged his shoulders. He sighed."Ah your a Slytherin." He said. He didn't hate Slytherin's but thanks to Chanella he didn't like them either but Callie seemed to be nicer than Chanel. Beck noded. "Yes this is my first year." Beck smiled.

Callie nodded her head. Atleast he didn't go on about how she was too nice to be a slytherin, Not that being nice wasn't a good thing but she was totally Slytherin. Oh yes she was. "Same. Its kinda...weird here." Or that was her personal opinion. "And its cold." much colder than America.

He did have a wicked hard time finding his way around the school. "I hate it when I go into this one part of the castle where this is this weird statue."

I dont really not where that is but yeah." More like she had no idea where it was. "I lived there for...most of my life." she said with another nod. "So Um whats Paris like ?" Although she'd asked Chandler aswell so she kinda knew. EEEP. She squealed quietly and bit her lip cringing at the thought of the staute."Thats not on this floor is it ?"

A whistling Lockhart made his way to the seventh floor. He'd gotten in touch with Arya and they have come to a conclusion of what to say to make the Room appear.
If she arrives late, then he'll be already inside, and she'll be able to join him because of the conclusion they've reached. He had to take out the piece of parchment in order to say the right words, and hopefully Arya will do so too.
He walked three times around the corridor and said the words those three times. His face now held a smile as soon as he noticed the most amazing door ever witnessed. He opened it, looking outside one last time before closing it. Ha.
Browncoat l Extra Syrup l Kita's Strong Confident Other Half l Lemon Patch
Arya didn't look like she was about to go skating with just her hoodie and blue jeans, kneazle snuggled in the hood of her hoodie. But she was. Or she at least was going to teach Treyen how to skate.
She didn't know if she was late or early, but it didn't really matter. Wasn't like it was class or anything. Just something much more awesome. Parchement of what they wanted to be in the room bunched in her hand, she strolled around the corridor, an excited bounce in her step.
No point in reading it again while she walked around three times, she had practically memorized the paper. She only hoped that Ivory would join them. She had invited the girl before heading up.
A faint smile on her lips, she pulled open the door as it appeared and walked in...

That had to be one of the fastest winters of Kellen's life. He supposed there had been quite a lot to keep him occupied, what with the Tri-Wizard Tournament, studying animagus theory, and comforting pretty much his entire roster of friends at one point or another. Still, the snow was disappearing, and with it went the sculpture he and Sabel had made together. That had certainly been a good concentration exercise.
