Hayley smiled and nodded when needed too. She noticed Eirian bleeding and she bit her lip, digging through her purse for some wipes, gauze and whatever that thing was to hold it all together. Uhm, of course she carried this stuff wherever she went, she always got hurt. Always. She took out the wipes and wiped off the blood, and held one on her arm as she quickly put the gauze on her arm, taping it secure. "I guess I could do it the 'wizard' way but I'm not so good with healing spells. Sorry." She said simply and putting the yucky, bloody stuff in a trash can, close to where she stood.
"Hopefully you will be able to rewrite the letter soon though." Hayley said. "So what year are you in? I see that you're in Slytherin however." She said pointing towards the house crest upon her robe. She thought that Eirian would be smart enough to figure out she was in Gryffindor, but that was beyond her to know if she was smart or not...then again she seemed like it. "I'm in my 5th Year." She stated.

In the time it took Eirian to blink, Hayley was tending to her wound, and within a second later, she was finished. Well... alright. That was nice. Maybe she should keep her around! Eirian knew many a times she had need of a walking first aid. "It is okay," she replied, shrugging. "Neither am I. Thank you! I... can honestly say I did not expect that." Not at all... Oh, Hayley.
"It does not matter," Eirian muttered. "I do not like my grandmother all that much, anyway." Chuckle. That was such an understatement... "I am a fifth year as well... and you are a Gryffindor, I see." Yet another reminded of- Great. She was obsessing about him. It. AH! "What school is boarding with you all?"

Hayley laughed. "Sorry if I came off too...umm friendly? I'm just always prepared for everything or anything....I think, but I like to be organized if that makes anymore sense than what I just made. Gah, so confusing." She smiled, shaking her head at herself. Weirdo.
She doesn't like her grandmother? Hmm, why? But she didn't know this girl well enough to ask, so she wouldn't. "Ooooh really? That's great! You can be one of my new friends! Well if you would like to of course." She said with an excited expression.
UHMM, HELLO. NEW FRIENDS WERE AWESOME.
Uhmm, whhuuuutt? "Excuse me? Sorry I didn't understand your last question." She said confused.

"It is fine," Eirian said, waving it off. "Friendly people are much more interesting. Some of my best friends are like that. Open to anyone... it is refreshing here." Not enough people were like that at Hogwarts. It was nice to meet someone different!
"I love new friends!" she exclaimed, grinning widely. "I need friends... Most people cannot put up with my accent. I can get very... unintelligible?" It was much easier in Brazil. No one questioned her voice... only her abnormal ghostly appearance. "Well, Slytherin has Beauxbatons staying with them, and I have heard about Durmstrang staying with both Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, but I do not know if that is true... Who is staying in Gryffindor?"

"Haha great!" Hayley said with a big smile. She liaked this girl already, she was SUPPPPPPPERRRRRRRRR nice! "Wait, what? I LOVEEEE your accent! It's awesome! Where exactly do you come from?" She asked curiously. She loved people who had accents, then again she sort of envied them because they did have one. Mehh.
"Uhm, I'm not sure, what you mean." Hayley said with a confused expression. What was this girl talking aboutt?

"Brazil," she answered, nodding enthusiastically. How she loved her home... "I lived there since I was eleven... My father wan an explorer, so he let me stay there in an apartment in Rio. I went to school there, but I had to move here last year... So all I have left of Brazil is my accent and my boyfriend, who is attending this year." But, of course, that would be enough for her. Thiago made everything perfect. "I miss it very much, but just having someone to talk in Portuguese to makes it not as bad."
"There are not visitors staying with you?" Eirian asked, surprised. "I have Beauxbatons invading my dormitory... they irk me very much."
Melanie raced up the stairs leading to the owlery, a bounce in her step. Clutched in her hand was a small package, wrapped clumsily in newspaper and tied with a big, bright yellow bow. Attached with spellotape was a folded letter. In big blocky Melanie letters on the front it read "FROM ONE BADGER TO ANOTHER"... and underneath that written smaller was "To Miranda Belcanto of the Holyhead Harpies" Inside, it said...
SPOILER!!: letter
Dear Miranda,
Hey! So... I'm not really sure if you'll get this. I bet you get a lot of fan mail, yeah? Cause' you're like a famous quidditch player now. For the Holyhead Harpies. That's right. I know things. I do. Is it nice? Is it easy? Do you miss us? Wanna come back to Hogwarts?
Only kidding. Wish you were though. I had to bring my own supply of chocolate to school this year since there's no quidditch. Did you know about that? Since the Triwizard Tournament is going on we don't get to play quidditch. It's not fair. I thought about filing a complaint, but I decided against it because... Well, no one's going to listen to me anyway. Hopefully we'll still have Quidditch lessons, though, so I'll get a chance to at least get on a broom. If not I will surely die and waste away from… something. Quidditch deprivation?
The tournament has a high death toll, from what I've heard. I hope no one dies. You don't have to worry about me, since I'm fifteen days to young to enter. You heard me. I missed the deadline by ONLY FIFTEEN DAYS.
Whatever though. I don't think I'd want to be champion anyway... Though it would have been kind of nice to enter, just so I could say I did. If that makes any sense. Anyways I suppose the tournament might be kind of awesome anyway. It’s sure to be exciting… And nerve wracking at the same time. I’m glad they’re holding it while I’m here. It’s something I can ramble about when I’m old and wrinkly to unsuspecting grandchildren. Everyone needs a few of those stories, I think.
I hope you’re doing well… do you have lots of money? Do you have a boyfriend? Are you still the same old Miranda? Do you remember me? How are you? Tell me stuff, please!
Love,
Melanie Lockhart
P.S.- The chocolate is for you, not the owl. Enjoy... And please don't let him have any. It makes him even more hyper active than he already is.
Her owl flew down from his perch when she entered, flying little circles around her head and pulling a few strands of her hair out with his beak. After a few moments, Bugle calmed down and seated himself merrily on the window ledge, with a little hoot! of approval. Clearly, the elf owl was happy to see her. Melanie smiled slightly, patting him fondly on the head. She only hoped the load of the chocolate frogs wouldn't be too much for him to carry.
Gently, she tied the parcel to the foot of her bird. "Take it to Miranda kay', Birdy? And no chocolate on the way." she ordered, waving him off. Bugle fluttered out the window, sinking a little at first, and then climbing determinedly up into the air. She watched until he vanished from her view, and then Melanie turned.
She climbed swiftly down the stairs, smiling to herself.

"Oh wow! I've always wanted to go to Brazil!" Hayley said with a nod and then something clicked in her mind. "Wait a second. Eirian. You're Jayce's best friend!" She said with a big smile upon her face. YUSHH, she found Jayce's best friend that he said helps him with girls. "So let me ask you something." She said, thinking up of the question. "Do you think I'm better for Jayce than Trixie?" She asked curiously.
"Oh you mean visitors!" Hayley said finally understanding it. "I'm not sure actually." She shrugged.
Jainie walked into the owlery, her letter to her parents about her first few days at Hogwarts clutched in her hand. She whistled to Gerry, her owl, who came and perched on Jainie's shoulder, sticking her leg out. Jainie stroked her feathers and tied the envelope to Gerry's leg. She walked over to the window and waited. With a nuzzle and a hoot, Gerry launched herself from Jainie's shoulder and took off into the light sky. Jainie watched as she flew into the distance., envying the ability to fly.

With her wellington boots on, [knee length, to cover her poor legs] Lori trudged her way from the kitchens to the Owlery, in an attempt to send two or three letters. She had two, but she needed to write another one, it was just finding a seat in the Owlery that wasn't covered in poop. Letters in her hand, she sighed as she got to the stairs leading up to the Owlery. It was so noisy up there... what were people doing, having a PARTY?! How.. peculiarly stupid.
Moving to the side a few times, to allow others to come down [she obviously felt she should have gone first, but her badge made her be nice. HMPF.], Lori was getting rather impatient. These letters were very overdue, her brother had been promised one the first day of term, not after nearly two months. But she had been so busy, busy with stuff.
Finally at the top, she attatched the letter for Donnie from her and then the one to his parents from both she and Adam, to her owl Arizona's leg. "You know where you've gotta take them. Do NOT let Donnie's parents take his letter, mmkay? He might not get it, or something. Good girl." Giving her owl a little kiss on the beak, Lori grinned and sat down. Poopless seats FTW.

I'm sorry this letter is so late, I know I promised a weekly update, but I was so not-myself for the first month of school, and Sarah told me she wrote anyway. So I figured you knew what was going on. But if she didn't mention it all, here goes:
No Quidditch.
TriWizard Tournament.
HOT Durmstrang boys. [and Beauxbatons, but I prefer the Durmstrangs.]
OLIVER is Head Boy ... O__O, right?!
The first years are scary, save me?
We're dorming with Brielle, a seventh year Beauxbatons student.
Then we also have Nikolai in the boys dorm, hehe. He's a Durmstrangian.
The Champions got announced:
Miles, Raiden, CAMMY! and some Duncan dude, I have yet to meet.
I wont spend this letter telling you how upset I feel, and lonely, because I want you to be enjoying your time! Are you? Is it fun? Have you met any HOT players? Of course you have. Can you introduce me? Ad doesn't like Quidditch, so I'm good, haha! Are they being nice? Do you need some glitter and stuff? Have you had to use your footspa yet?
I suppose I should probably mention that I do miss you alot, and I've attatched photos of the dorm, and the common room, and the grounds, and other places around the school. There's also one of your bed. Yes your bed, because I claimed a bed for you, beside mine. I sleep in there every few nights, so the House Elves that make them will make it pretty. Like they do all beds. I'm intending to carve our names into the bed posts soon, possibly the floor under a bed ...
I forgot to ask how you were, I think. The fumes of owl poo are probably getting to me, actually.
I miss you, and so does Sarah, she just doesn't like to show it as much as I do. Girl's a tough cookie. I do enjoy her company millions, and she's slowly becoming my best friend. I think of her as it already, but I have too many of them. She's just.. there you know? Like I can go to her whenever I need something, or I'm upset, and she'll just listen and rock me when I cry. She's amazing. I hope one day, I can be just like her. Have her energy, and positivity, and how she deals with the first years, that's just bewildering.
All my love,
[PS. I sent you some chocolate aswell, apologies if my owl eats them.]
Lorelai.
Of course she was more than sad, she was positively heartbroken, and she just wanted to curl up, and wake up a year ago. Where she had all her best friends here, and nothing seemed like it was going to end.
By the time she had finished her letter, her eyes had brimmed over with tears and a few had escaped onto the letter without her knowing, leaving a few little smudges in the pink ink. Blowing quickly on the ink to let it dry, Lorelai got out the pink, yellow and black ribbon strings ready to tie it.
Once the ink was dry, she did exactly that, pairing the yellow and black up into a bow around the rolled up letter, and then the pink on it's own, to signify it was still her here. Still the pinkpuff. "Now, Arizona, I want you to take this to Miranda, okay? Now, go. Be good! AND NO PECKING PEOPLE!" The last bit, she had to shout, for her owl had gone, and was heading into the distance now.

"It is really beautiful, but for most people from here very hot," she explained. "I am always cold here... my blood is thinner." And then, Eirian froze. Oh, Hell no. This was owl girl. That made sense... Urgh. Why did she have to be a decent person? Why couldn't she just hate her like she did Trixie!? "I did not like Trixie. I am... far too opinionated to say. But yes... you are a person that is nice. I suppose you would be better for him... but I cannot say. Not now."
"Yes," Eirian muttered, still put off by her revelation. A frown settled on her face... This wasn't good. But why not? It just... wasn't.
".. It's just for a few minutes, damn!" Louisa was shouting when she stepped into this 'open' chamber at the top of the tower, holding Enya's hand and literally dragging her. "See? This is my letter, I've written it few days ago and now you stand here eat your plate while instructing me how to choose an owl and direct her."
Louisa took her white envelope out of her pocket and waved it in front of Enya as she frowned. She was really not sure about writing to her mom considering the fact that her mother wasn't so pleased with this whole magic thing. However, Louisa wanted to stay in touch with her family and letters sounded like amazing right now.
She looked around looking for Jenny who was supposed to be in the owlery as well. She was sure that she gave her the right time, she could wait till Jenny show up and then they could go back to the common room.
Many owls were flying around or just standing there pecking their bodies or staying still. Louisa scanned them carefully trying to pick one that looked 'bright' to deliver such a letter to her mother.
SPOILER!!: Louisa's letter
Dear mom,
It's been a few weeks here at Hogwarts and I'm really happy. I didn't think that it'd be better than my old school but it is. I've met some new nice people, and the professors here are quite good too. The food is amazing and I like their cupcakes a lot but not as much as yours of course. I've missed you, Danny, Johnny and Jason. I hope that you're all doing fine. Give them all kisses from me and take care.

Enya tried to free herself from Louisa's grip for like the tenth time since the girl had grabbed her and literlly dragged her off to the Owerly...which was where they were now. But what she was more concerened about - other then the gashing red mark she'll have on her wrist - was trying to keep her food on her plate. A few time's she had almost dropped the whole thing all together, but had gladly managed to hold on.
"Let go of me!" She shouted at Louisa as she was finally dragged through the Owerly doors. Scowl. Finally with a free wrist she grabbed hold of her plate with two hands. She knew it was pointless to try and run for the door, specially carrying her food, so she didn't try.
Enya sat down on the floor - a clean spot! - and glared at Louisa for bringing her here and where was this 'first year' she was suppose to have to meet. Gosh not more excited and annoying people!? She asked herslef before asking her best friend, "So where's this girl then?"

Beware.
Merlin. There was a stack of letters in Raiden's hands as he made his way up the stairs to the owlery; they were at least seven in number, and more than one was rather thick. He'd written a lot. Only one of them lay flat, as if the envelope were empty.
Turning them over in his hands, he shuffled through the stack, looking at each name on their fronts. His father. Emmalee. Plymouth, because for some reason poor Plymouth always caught letters from Raiden when he was losing his mind and doing stupid things. Celandine. Nico. Daphne Hopton. And a certain former professor.
Poor army of owls that would be delivering this lot. They were likely to become the victims of screaming and shaking at a few of the destinations.
The prefect, one of the newly appointed Hogwarts Triwizard Champions, reached up to where the beams of the ceiling arched down and met the wall and waited for an owl to hop onto his arm. This lot needed to be sent out as soon as possible. So Daphne could come back to Hogwarts and kill him before any of the tasks had the chance.

There was a good reason why Josephina generally avoided the owlery; primary reason was that it smelled, but also it was noisy. Trying hard not to breathe in the aromas, she stopped just outside as she observed one of the Slytherin Prefects, and one of the Triwizard Champions, reaching upward for an owl. He looked . . . frazzled, to say the least.
The brunette stood for a moment, watching, before she remembered she'd trekked up the stairwell for a reason. She needed to send her sister a letter. The older one, whom she just heard of her engagement to her Hogwarts sweetheart, despite the fact that the engagement happened two plus months ago. At least one member of her family still regularly communicated with her which would be her younger sister, Alex. As she didn't have her own owl with her, the school owls would have to suffice.
But before she could send the letter, she reckoned that someone needed a pep talk. "Prefect Kururugi? Is everything alright?" she asked in her concerned voice, despite the fact that she knew everything wasn't. "Well rather . . . i mean . . . peppermint?" Because they made everything better.

At the sound of feet ascending the stairs, Raiden glanced toward the doorway, pausing in his activity of tying a letter to a particularly impatient owl. The thing stomped its foot on his arm in protest.
Ah, a professor. The boy went back to what he was doing, expecting that she'd quietly do her business while he did his. The owl took off, flying out over the grounds of Hogwarts and taking Daphne Hopton's letter with it.
He hadn't expected the professor to approach him or even talk to him, so when she did, he was... er, slightly surprised, to say the least. His arm lowered, preventing an owl from jumping onto him, and he looked at the woman.
"At the moment, Professor?" he asked, mustering half a smile. When she offered peppermint, he nodded, vaguely remembering someone doing the very same thing once before when he'd had a stomach ache. This wasn't a stomach ache, but... well peppermint couldn't hurt. "Just a bit... overwhelmed. Never had so many people tell me not to die within such a small amount of time."
They were only saying what he assumed most everyone was thinking, but... well. It didn't really need to be said, did it. Wasn't like he had control over anything. He couldn't tell them to not use dragons in a task, or anything like that. He subconsciously tightened his grip on the few letters remaining in his hands, wrinkling the edges a little bit.

Josephina had perhaps anticipated he would have wanted the quiet up here. Which is why she didn't speak terribly much, because she had her own business to take care of. And he wanted, no needed the quiet. The piece.
"Amazing, huh?" Fina mused, leaning against the wall of the owlery. "It's like... until your life is maybe at risk. Until something grand happens to you, you didn't even know people noticed you. And then, all of a sudden, it's like BAM! and you're all of a sudden the most popular guy." Rambling lesson from Fina? Totally unexpected. Not that she knew any of that from personal experience, since she generally was on the invisible side of the fence. But she could still relate.
"Look, I don't know what to tell you, except ... if you ever need a place to vent or just breath, my office is an open door." She paused, looking meaningfully at him. "To you or any of the other champions."

"You might not want to lean, Professor," Raiden murmured, gesturing toward the wall. "We are in the Owlery."
And the walls weren't exactly safe from the owls' droppings. Which was why Raiden never, ever touched anything up here. Merlin help him if he ever tripped, because it would be a disgusting mess.
"'s more like... nobody seemed particularly bothered about my doing stupid things until the second my name came out?" He managed half a grin. "What with being prefect, a lot of people knew I was around. They just expected me to be intelligent and not do something that could potentially kill me." He paused. "But I guess it's kinda like that. Lots of people who didn't bother talking to me before, suddenly popping up left and right to tell me about my imminent death."
He said it almost with an air of amusement. It was true. His existence was a lot more important to people now that it might actually end sooner rather than later.
"I appreciate that, Professor," he said, inclining his head slightly as thanks. "As it is, I've been sitting around in the dorms more than I probably should have, the last day or two. It... kinda gets boring in there though."
But it was better than being stared at, or warned against dying, or everything else. The silent room had more confidence in him than a hell of a lot of the voices at Hogwarts. He looked down at the letters in his hand, and with a frown, flattened the wrinkled edges. The one on the top of the stack read, in obviously hurried handwriting, 'Professor Truebridge'.
Oh, the poor owl that would have to deliver that one.

It just... wasn't.
"Oh, well I'm not sure what blood is mine." Hayley laughed. Yeah, she was definitley confused, but she liked Eirian, she was really nice. Andddd the best friend to Jayce. Hehehehehe. Okay, why that laugh?
"Oh okay. Well I just wanted to know your opinion." She said simply. It was always better if the guy you like's best friend approves of you. It always helps. Hayley noticed a frown upon Eirian's face and she arched her eyebrow. "Sorry, was it something that I said?" She asked.
Louisa let go of Enya as she continued to look at the owls, "Hmm.. Which one do you think I should use?" She said ignoring Enya's shout and bad mood. Well, the girl was partly right for Louisa dragged her out of the kitchen to her when she was starving.
Louisa came across a grey owl with white spots all over her chest. "This one looks cute, doesn't she?" She stroked her gently and smiled. "Would you deliver a letter for me dear?" She said sweetly. The owl didn't react at once but stopped pecking around and unleashed her wings with a wild wave.
The little girl stepped behind a bit, "Wow! That was a confident yes." SHe giggled looking at Enya who was so absorbed in her plate. "I don't know when Jenny would be here. I should just attach the letter to this lovely owl by the leg right?" She turned around to face Enya.
The owl flew and landed on Louisa's head. "Oooh! She's so friendly." Louisa giggled and reached out for the owl to stroke her while on her head. "Aah. What was I thinking when I got Kitty?" She said trying not to shake her head. She didn't want the owl to fly away so soon.

Enya didn't look at Louisa as she shrugged to the younger girl's first question. it was simple and she didn't see a reason to tell the girl what to do, she could find out herself. Enya then looked up when she had an idea, she could at least lend Ziva out to her best friend...show some....uh....kindness? She had just looked up from her plate and opened her mouth when Louisa suddenly picked a bird. Well there goes that idea. Sigh.
Enya stood up. She didn't even bother answering the question about cuteness, one look and she knew the bird wasn't as nice as Ziva was. She loved Ziva, she was the best! And the Prettiest Owl there! Eye roll. The girl was talking to the owl now! Asking it a question. Crazy! She giggled.
Enya looked over at Louisa again, rasing her eye's to the other girl's lateness. Gah! She wouldn't be here all day! She had places to be, people to see ect ect. But before she could say anything on that matter she heard her best friend asking her if it was right to put the letter on the Owl's feet? Well duh! "Where else are you going to put it?" She asked rolling her eyes.
Enya liked Kitty...well a little, and she really wouldn't know what she'd do if Louisa got rid of her and got a Owl. Even though the cat was annoying! And Owl's were better. Sigh...

Beware.
It had been two weeks since Rubiey had written to her mother, and still no reply. Everyday she had trudged up the stairs to the Owlery, and scanned the katrillions of owls to see if she could find her beautiful black owl, Gabilan, anywhere in the crowd. She knew he would have come and found her if he had returned, but she still searched in vain.
Today was no different. And again, he wasn't here. She hoped he hadn't got lost, or hurt. She stared out of the giant windows, hoping to see a small black dot in the distance...

Eirian returned her smile, though it was slightly taxed now. "Nothing," she sighed. "I like you... I do. If it was my choice, it would be you... especially with the selection I know of so far." Eww. Trixie. "It is only that Jay and I had a fight... partially because of your existence?" Sigh. "For a while now, he and I have been... not well. Trixie came between us, and you know his aversion to owls... I tried to buy him one, but he would not let me. It almost feels as if he is trying to replace me because I now have a boyfriend." Ever since Thiago came to stay, it had been downhill for her relationship with her partner in crime. "I think Thiago told him some things about me that he did not like... You see, Thiago and I were together in Brazil, and before that best friends. He knows... much. A lot I left behind, a lot of what I used to be... what I was before I moved here." Before her depression, before her dad's death, before the humbleness that had been bestowed upon her by her loss, her grandmother, and her lack of knowledge of the English language. "I think he has changed since he found his mother, as well. Maybe, now that he has found her, he is angry that she left him in the first place? Maybe he now misses his father... I do not know. He will not say a thing to me."
Eirian sighed. She had spoken too much again, hadn't she? For once, she almost hoped that her accent had slurred the words into something beyond comprehension, only to leave Hayley confused and wondering why the lopsided smile had left Eirian's face. With her luck, she had probably lost her accent for that moment in time, leaving it all crystal clear and up for judgmental interpretation. "I am sorry... I did not mean to say so much," she murmured. "I only have no one to speak to about such things... Thiago does not like hearing of Jayce, you see, and visa versa."

Jenny ran as fast as she could; she had to stop for a bathroom break on the way. She finally caught up to find Louisa absorbed by a grey owl. She tried to catch her breath before standing up straight to talk to Louisa, feeling her pocket to make sure her letter to her father was still there. "Sorry I'm late." Jenny huffed.

Jenny noticed another girl standing next to Louisa, rolling her eyes and eating food off her plate. This must be Enya...she looked pretty annoyed to be here. Probably because Louisa disturbed her eating time or something. Also, just as she feared, she looked like a person not to be messed with.
"Hello," Jenny said timidly. She just stood there after that...how do you deal with people you shouldn't mess with? Just a single movement and the whole room would explode...
