Who's the man now, huh Willow? BOYA.

But then the branches came down towards him. In an instant, he had his wand out, pointed at it threateningly. "Oii, be carefuh," he warned it, eyeing the branch that was swaying. He didn't like things that swayed.

He heard a pop, causing him to turn around. "Ah, thas where the door was." Willie muttered to himself, pocketing his wand and heading towards the door. He looked above the door at the words that were forming and immediately frowned. He hated reading.

"Light? Light? Hm." He didn't really know what to choose, but being himself, he opened his bag, ruffled through it and pulled out a Dagaz. "Well, this came out," he murmured, placing the rune on the keywhole.

The Whomping Willow did not liiiikkkke the look on this one's face. NoOOOOoooo, it did not. For a few moments, the tree even considered the possibility of whomping one of the walls to scaaaaare the BAD YELLOW, but then bad yellow had fitted in the correct rune.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The branches rose into the air but did not disappear completely out of sight. Even as light flooded into the enclosure and the door swung open so that the BAD YELLOW could go throuuuugh it, a few of the branches remained on the edge of one of the walls, staaaaaring at BAD YELLOW.

"Yay, Thank you Mr. Whomping Willow!" She walked through, and waved back at it, as she went on her way. "its funny," she thought, "I'm more nervous around other students than I am the whomping willow."

OOOOOHHH. The Whomping Willow liked being loved, it diiiiddd. CLAPCLAP!Happy Willow! One of the branches waaaaaved to the PRETTY YELLOW kid as she continued on her path.

Letters began to appear on the floor, once again....

Do not be blinded by your personal light.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waiiiiiiiiiteddd!

Soon enough his path was once more blocked by a door, the trees branches overing over the top area of the maze. Simon looked down once more to read this door's riddle, the wording a bit more confusing then the last.

"Blinded by my personal light?" he read aloud as he though it over as if thinking hearing it might help. He glanced at the two runes free in his hands as he dwelled on the riddle's possible meaning before realising what it meant.

Duh...doesn't dagaz mean day?

"Day would mean light...and therefore brightness," he mused aloud, finally taking the dagaz rune and slipping it into the keyhole. The gryffindor once more waiting patiently for the result though he was feeling good about his choice.

This GREEN KID, the tree did not understand. It wanted to WHOMP her. But it knew it must not. It had a niiice deal. It couldn't whomp the students. So it just STARED at the strange human child who was holding the rune up and not putting it into the keyhole, and then the tree let its branches riiiise into the air and disappear out of sight.

Light streamed freely into the roofless enclosure once more. The door that had been previously blocked was now open.

Hehehehehe HUZZAH!

Take THAT tree!

Smirking, Evelyn stood up normally once the branches rose away and out of sight. Hehe. It totally worked! Placing the rune back safely riiigghhht into the bag, she was surprised to suddenly see a door there in front of her. Hmm? Was that there before?

Eyebrows raising, she moved towards the door and pushed on it slightly. It opened with ease which caused her to smile in relief. Good. She didn't want to have to figure out how to open it. Her gaze happened to glance down though, to what seemed to be a key whole in the door. It was big enough actually, to fit the runes in.

...

....Ohhhh!!! *cough* Well, that was embarrassing.

At least she knew what to do next time now. Onto the next ways of the maze!

All the same, it ought to help her. So branches gentlyyyy lowered themselves in front of the kid. The Spruce tree corresponds to me.

Jera or Dagaz? Take your pick. The Whomping Willow doesn't like to waaaaiiiiiiitttt!

Marie was trying to find her way out of this silly maze when...

Whoa! She was being attacked by the willow tree. Jumping back she was a bit surprised when the tree DIDN"T attack her. Huh... maybe this tree was as bad as everyone said it was.

A door, there was a door behind the branches. Now the question was would the tree let her get to the door without whomping her? Inching closer to the door she sees there is a keyhole. Crap, that means the door is probably locked. But how was she going to open it, she didn't have any keys, or did she? Looking down at the bag in her hand she sees the writing on the floor.

The Spruce tree corresponds to me.

Great, now she had to remember what they talked about in class. Which rune went with the Spruce tree? Reaching in her bag she pulls out one of each of the runes. Jera or Dagaz? Right, now she remembered. Putting one back in the bag she carefully puts her hand and arm between the branches and put the Dagaz rune in the keyhole.

Please let it open the door, she does not want to get crushed by those branches.

Emmaleigh continues walking. This was probably the greatest maze ever! So much better than those muggle mazes. They didn't have trees that could be nice! Suddenly, she came to another choice of turns, but this time, she decided to turn left. That way she was headed in her original direction.

YESSSSS. Nice red had it correct. The branches rose into the air again. One of them waaaaved to NICE RED before all of them disappeared out of sight, letting light flood the place again.

The door swung open.

UNHAPPY GREEN had fitted in the correct rune. One of the branches reached out and veryyyy gently patted her on the back, before all of them rose into the air and disappeared out of sight.

Light flooded into the roofless enclosure once more, as the door swung open so that UNHAPPY GREEN could go throuuuughhh.

But other than that...

WHO'S THE BOSS NOW WILLOW, HUH?! OH YEAH, HE WAS.

Once he made it to the other side, the Hufflepuff stuck his tongue out at the Willow and said, "That shows ya not ter mess with a Crocka!"

Kurumi continued to skip and even began humming her way through the maze. She wished she would run into someone else...just not the scary cookie hating Slytherin girl...that would be terrible and awkward.

As she skipped, she looked into her bag and saw that she still had a fair amount of rubes left. Was she going to have to use all of them before she was able to find an exit?

Two down, however many more to go, he mused to himself as he continued on his way through the maze.

It worked, the door opened. Oh yeah, she was gonna get out of there after all. Oh, and now the tree was touching her on the back... and NOT trying to beat her. Well, this was a first. How many people can say they got patted on the back by the whomping willow instead of beat down. Maybe that cookie of hers the tree got earlier is what was making it be so nice to her. If that was the case she would give it cookies all the time.

Hmm, maybe she could find Evan and get that cookie out of his hood that she hid. You know just in case the tree decided it needed another one.

Walking through the door she stopped for a minute to contemplate what direction to go. Forward, that's where she was headed. To the next door.

"Oh little door... come out, come out, wherever you are." she said as she walked along.

She had this weird feeling that she was being stared at. Like Stalker Dude was following her or something, which would be impossible actually. She hadn't seen him in class.

Unless...he came in after the walls were raised and everything!!

ACK!

Quickening her pace, she turned a corner and paused, letting her back press against the wall, the sound of her bag hitting it echoing throughout her ears. Jeez, she could be a little louder next time too. Peaking around the corner, her eyebrows furrowed in worry when she didn't see anyone there, but she still had that HUGE feeling she was being watched.

Looking down the way she turned into, the Slytherin took one more peak around the corner before going down the way. If anyone popped out at her to scare her, they'll have another thing coming. Or more specifically, a black eye.

Evan was very happy watching his wrist-watch when AGAIN the tree decided to attack him. He took another few steps back, now leaving a few metres between him and his stuff. Though, this time the brances came gently. Wow. They must have learnt their manners. Watching a formation of a door, his eyes saw the word then; Fruits. This was it? Was he out? Getting his stuff back, he looked at his notes. Hmm... Picking Jera rune, he shoved it into the keyhole and waited for the triumph.

Doooor. PRETTY GREEN had found a door. Branches blocked it but a keyhole was visible through these, this keyhole being the same shape as all the runes present in the rune bags provided to the students - any of the runes could fit into it and serve as a key.

The following words appeared on the floor...

I am the harvest.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaaaiiiteddd!

ANGRY GREEN seemed to be in a better mood. One of the branches reached out and veryyyy gentlyyy patted him on the back. Then all of them rose into the air and disappeared out of sight, allowing light to stream freely into the enclosure once more.

The door swung open so that the greeeen kid go throuuuugh.

But it couldn't. The Willow frowned a tree!frown and then the door that the BAD green kid had been trying to open, disappeared. CLAPCLAP!Happy Willow! But it couldn't leave the kid like thiiiis - even though it wanted to - so a few more branches slowwwwlyyy lowered themselves in front of the kid. The door that popped up behind them had a keyhole that peeped out through their midst, this keyhole being the same shape as the runes in the rune bags the students had been provided - each rune in the bag could fit into it and serve as a key.

The following words appeared on the floor...

The year is I.

Jera or Dagaz? Take your pick. The Whomping Willow isn't going to waiiiit much longgerrr!

Salander was fumbling with the rune key, praying to all the witches, wizards, ghosts, historical figures and mythological heroes his limited brain contained when suddenly.... the door vanished.

"Wha???? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!" he cried as he pawed the space that once beheld the door. He could hear-- Is that cackling? clapping? as he looked back at the Willow, its branches creaking ever so closer as it moved. He grabbed his wand and the bag of runes and pinned himself against the opposite wall, fully expecting the pummeling that is to come.

.... instead a few branches lowered themselves into place, and there emerged another door with the keyhole.

"Huh..." he stared dumbfounded for a few seconds. Then his eyes shifted to a new set of scrawling on the floor.

He read out "The year is... is that I? Like me myself and I? or is that 'The year is One?'" he turned his head this way and that all confused. He rummaged though the bag and brought out both runes, his eyes shifting between the dagaz and the jera.

He looked back at the Willow "Oh yeah, I bet you're enjoying this now arentcha?!?" he cried out, believing he had heard it clapping or cackling with glee. Chances are, its his overactive imagination that supplied the sound effects. Its not like it hasnt happened before.

Cautiously he approached the branches that beheld the door, both runes still gripped tightly on each hand. He looked at the dagaz rune "Eh, tried this out the last time and the door went vamoosh. Maybe its this other one.... he said as he inserted the JERA rune into the keyhole. Which ghost hasnt he prayed to? "Myrtle's mercy please wooork!!!"

They blocked out enough light to make the change noticeable, but not all of it... after all, the pretty yellow kid needed to be able to read the words that had now appeared on the floor.

There can be no fire sans air.

Jera or Dagaz? The tree waaiiiiteed!

OOOH. THIS green had fitted in the right ruuunne. One of the branches reached out to give NICE GREEN a veryyy gennnntttle pat on the back, and then all the branches rose into the air and disappeared out of sight.

Light began to stream freely into the place once more, as the door swung open so that NICE GREEN could pass throuuughh.

WillowTHEMAN didn't hate mornings, but one of the branches reached out to give the kid a veryyy gentle pat on the back all the same. Then all the branches rose into the air and disappeared out of sight.

Light began to stream freely into the place once more, as the door swung open so that NICE YELLOW could pass throuuughh.

The tree was displeased. Hiiighly displeased. Branches swaaayyyed threateningly behind BAD YELLOW.

HELLO PRETTY RED! The tree loooooveddd PRETTY RED. One last time, branches came down for her, a keyhole visible through them. The following words appeared on the floor...

My gemstone is the same colour as most ancient runes.

Nice REDDD. Branches began to lower themselves in front of the NICE RED kid once again, the keyhole of the last door visible through them. The following words appeared on the floor...

I represent the conspicuous.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaiiited!

OOOOH. Unhappy GREEN seemed less unhappy. The tree liked that, it diiiiiiiid. It decided to show her another door. Branches slowwwly lowered themselves in front of her once again, a keyhole visible through them.

The following words appeared on the floor...

The light is your guide.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaaaiiiiitttedd!

STRANGE GREEN! Some branches dropped down rather noiselessly at the far end of the tunnel that STRANGE GREEN had peeked into, the keyhole of a door visible through them. The following words appeared on the floor, right beneath them...

I represent justice.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow eyyyyeeed STRANGE GREEN as it waited.

SMALL GREEN had fitted in the right rune. One of the branches reached out and gave her a verrryyyy gentttle pat on the back, before all of the branches rose into the air and disappeared out of sight. Light began to stream freely into the enclosure once more, as the door that the branches had been blocking swung open so that SMALL GREEN could go throuuuughhh.

OOOOOOOOHH. New NICE RED! The tree liked being treated kindly so it decided it didn't want to whomp this kid. One of the branches waaaaaved to NICE RED as he continued on his path.

PRETTY YELLOW. Pretty yellow had found another door, this one blocked by branches too. The following words appeared on the floor, as PRETTY YELLOW began to near...

I am linked to agriculture.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaaaaiited!

Kurumi petted the Whomping Willow as its branches came down again...but then total distress came across her face. "My gemstone is the same colour as most ancient runes....HUH?!" Had the professor mentioned that before? She racked her brain for some sort of information...anything that could help her.

Woah...calm down Kurumi!

"OK....OK....so...Dagaz gemstone is chrysolite which is a green color whereas Jera's is carnelian which is a reddish-brown color..." She reached into her own bag of runes to take a look at her "keys." Well, they certainly were not a green color and were probably closer to a reddish-brown. Was that the answer? She put a little more thought into it. "I know that carnelian was used widely during Roman times...it was engraved for signet or seal rings to use on wax to seal important documents because wax doesn't stick to it..."

She held onto one of her Dagaz stones and looked at the key hole. Slowly, she approached the door and inserted the rune...

"Please let this be the right answer, Mr. Whomping Willow..."

NooooOOOOooo. BAD GREEN had fitted in the correct rune. One of the branches reached out and gave him a verrryyyyyyyy slight pat on the back, before quicklyyyy joining the other branches as they rose into the air and disappeared out of sight.

Light began to stream freely into the roofless enclosure once more, as the door that had been blocked by the branches until recently swung open so that the green kid could go throuuuughh.

Evan jerked slightly again in horror as one of the branches moved forward towards him, only to pat him lightly. He grinned then, patting it back with two of his fingers. Maybe the tree wasn't so bad? He stepped out of the door into the... maze. Again. <_< Now, that was disappointing, but he should have known that it wouldn't be so easy. Sighing, he got his Jera back and moved on to find another door or the exit.

NoooOOOoooo. PRETTY RED had chosen incorrectly. SADSAD Willow. The branches shook sadly and then the door vanished. Moments later, however, more branches had lowered themselves slowwwlyy into the enclosure, another keyhole visible through them. This time, the following words appeared on the floor...

I stand for fertility.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaaaiiiiteed for PRETTY RED to fit in the correct rune.

OOOOOHH. UNHAPPY GREEN had patted it back. The tree liked that, ite did. One of the branches waaaaaved to the green kid as he continued on his path.

Five minutes later, another bunch of branches had lowered themselves down in front of him again, a keyhole visible through them.

Words began to appear on the floor, once more...

The dawn and the light.

Jera or Dagaz? The Whomping Willow waaaiiited!
