When he got to the end, his eyes fell on the box that read "Pick me up?...". He looked back at the long tunnel "Saved the best for last dintcha Willy?" the lad retorted, then looked back at the box. He furrowed his brows in consternation "The heck kinda riddle is this.... Pick me up? And where's the keyhole?" he grumbled as he looked around the box. No keyhole. Not a crack in sight. He reached into the rune bag, rummaging through it for his now favorite piece "There you are!" he said as he brought out the Jera rune and gave it a lucky rub "Work your magic babeh!" he beamed as he dropped the rune onto the box with a flourish, then looked at it expectantly. Maybe that door is in the box? Letsseee....

O___________o

Could BAD GREEN not read? Pick me up.... meant pick me up. The tree twitched at all sorts of odd angles, as it hoooooped the boy would pick the box up and just.... go away.

But noooOOoo. The boy had other things in mind, he did.

So, since the tree was getting tired of hoping the boy would do something right, one of the branches reached out, grabbed him (not monstrously or anything, the branch was pretty gentle to ensure it didn't hurt the boy.... though of course, that didn't mean the tree didn't like the thought that the sudden movement might give BAD GREEN a scaaaaaare. BAD GREEN hadn't been too good to it, no he hadn't.) and rose into the air. It set him down outside the maze, in a classroom-of-sorts - one that now contained quite a number of students.

Cushions, a desk and a chalkboard had been placed here. The desk bore several boxes of chocolate.

The chalkboard read:

Congratulations! You are now outside the maze! Please make yourself comfortable as you wait for your classmates to join you. You may help yourself to some chocolate.

The branch disappeared after gently setting the boy down, only to return a moment later. This time, it set the box the boy hadn't picked up, next to him before disappearing for good.

No more STRANGE!BAD GREEEEEEEEEEEEN.

w00tw00t! HAPPY!WILLOW!

"Hmm. What now?" she began to look around for clues as to what in the world she was meant to do!

YELLOOOWWW kid. Branches gentlyyyy lowered themselves in front of her, a keyhole of a door visible through them, this keyhole being the same size and shape as all the runes in the rune bags provided to the students - any of the runes could fit into it and serve as a key.

Letters began to appear on the floor...

My gemstone can be golden-green.

Jera or Dagaz? The tree waaaaaaaaited for YELLOW KID to choose one of the two runes.

The door swung open so that NICE RED could go throuugghh.

If this was the end, that is.

GOODBYE NOW!HAPPY GREEN! One of the branches waaaaaaved to him, as he reached for the box.

The moment the Slytherin picked the box, he was quietly transported outside the maze and into a classroom of sorts - a classroom of sorts that had clearly begun to fill up, given the students that had been transported here in the past fifteen minutes. Cushions, a desk and a chalkboard had been placed here. The desk bore several boxes of chocolate.

The chalkboard read:

It seemed the Willow didn't want to lose Patroclus, but to be honest the boy was rather fond of the tree too!

Sure that his would be the last door, Patroclus studied the words carefully......he was sure he knew the answer. Markovic had told them that one represented the day, the other a year, and recalling on that knowledge Patroclus pressed the Jera Rune through the branches and into the final key hole!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! NICE!RED had fitted in the correct ruuune! The branches rose into the air to unblock the door that had now swung open. Behind it could be seen a long, well-lit tunnel that had a big box located at the end. The said box read...

Right. Which way now? Left? That sounded good. The blonde continued down a left path.

But which one was it? His hand hesitated, clenched around one Dagaz and one Jera. Reverse? He thought neither of the runes had a reverse... but he knew Dagaz at least meant dawn... so the opposite of that had to be Jera....

Holding his breath, Fletcher bit his lip and inserted one of his Jera runes into the keyhole. Would it work?!

Cass grinned as she stepped into the next place in the maze. "Thanks" She told the tree as she looked around the place where she ended up this time.

She had to stop wandering on endlessly. She had to have a plan. So she took a galleon from her pocket and flipped it.

Heads, I go left. Tails, I go right.

Cass smiled as she picked the galleon off the ground and headed left.

Who in the world was stupid enough to slap something out of her hand? Oh, it was only Evelyn. She should have known it was the chocolate hater. Dagr?

Well the first clue was that it sounded a little like Dagaz, so far that one was closest. The second clue was that it Dagaz sometimes meant day, and the word Dagr was the Old Norse for Day too. Well therefore it had to be that one right?

Box. Blink. Rune on box. Blink. Any minute now... some kind of door will pop out, or maybe just the hidden keyh--

"Whoooaaaaaahhhh!"

Salander gripped the Willow's branch as he soared up and out of the enclosure. Willow is gonna send me flying again... he thought until he realized that he was being deposited into a makeshift classroom. As the branches flew out of his field of vision, his eyes settled on the chalkboard. Reading the scrawling he started to grin slowly as the realization took hold-- he was done! He was done with the maze and he was out of it! Courtesy of the Willow no less.

His eyes settled on the box when the Willow dropped it to his side. Blink. Pick me up.... Oh! Pick. Me. Up. Now he got it!

He re-read the message of the chalkboard again, then looked at the chocolate on the desk. "What I'm really hungry for is for some Philly cheesesteak but..." he trailed off as he scrambled for the chocolate and took a handful. After all those riddle-solving and moonwalking and Travolta-grooving and branch dodging and Willow-riding it sure got him worked up on an appetite!

One of the branches hit the wall farthest away from BAD YELLOW. The tree had not made any move to hurt BAD YELLOW, but the noise that had just been generated might give him a small scare. In fact.... there was more noise as branches tumbled down a good distance away from the kid. They blocked a door and, as letters appeared on the floor, the branches staaaared at bad yellow, twitching in a way that made it clear he had better not disrespect the tree. Sure, WillowTHEMAN knew it couldn't hurt any of the students. But if they kept on disrespecting it when it was being niiice to them, it could give them a little scare, nooOOOooo?

My element is earth.

Jera or Dagaz? The branches staaaaaaaaaaared at BAD YELLOW as they waited for him to choose a rune.

Willie thought that he was going to keep on going in peace, but he thought wrong. Because once the Whomping Willow went WHOMP, Willie went... Well...

"EYAAAAK!" He squeaked, jumping what seemed to be a feet from where he was. He grasped his shirt tightly, breathing deeply as he stared at the branches. WHAT WAS THAT TREE THINKING?!

"OIIIIIII!" Willie snapped, pointing his finger with his free hand at the branches. "Duntchu ya be messin' with me, ye bludy tree! I'll 'ave you CHOPPED DOWN as soon as I get meself outta this maze here! OHYEAH. Ya just wait, ye bludy tree!"

He was going to have his revenge. HE WAS.

After he declared his soon to be revenge on the tree, he looked up at the clue it gave him and thought for a few moments. No harm in guessing again, right? Pulling out Jera, he annoyingly pushed it into the keyhole.

Grumble. Grumble. Grumble.

I KNOW THIS ONE I KNOW THIS ONE!

Fletcher quickly searched through his bag, found the Jera rune, and inserted it into the correct spot. BOOMshackalackalackaboomboom! That had to be right.

CORRECT! One of the branches reached out to give GLITTER YELLOW a veryyyy gentle pat on the back. Then all the branches rose into the air and disappeared out of sight, allowing light to stream freely into the roofless enclosure once more.

The door swung open so that GLITTER YELLOW could go throuugghh.

The kid had fitted in the correct ruuune! The branches rose into the air to unblock the door that had now swung open. Behind it could be seen a long, well-lit tunnel that had a big box located at the end.

The said box read...

Pick me up.

Laaaaast door for NICE GREEN! Branches gently came down, a keyhole peeking out through them. The letters on the floor read...

Twenty-four.

Jera or Dagaz? The treee waaaaiiited!

"Pick me up"

She kneed down and picked the box up.

What was in it?!

GOODBYE PRETTY!GREEN! One of the branches waaaaaaved to her, as she reached for the box.

The moment the Slytherin picked the box, she was quietly transported outside the maze and into a classroom of sorts - a classroom of sorts that had clearly begun to fill up, given the students that had been transported here in the past fifteen minutes. Cushions, a desk and a chalkboard had been placed here. The desk bore several boxes of chocolate.

The chalkboard read:

Congratulations! You are now outside the maze! Please make yourself comfortable as you wait for your classmates to join you. You may help yourself to some chocolate.

The box the girl had picked up, rested next to her.

Laaast doooOooor! Branches slowwwly lowered themselves in front of SMALL GREEN, a keyhole visible through them. Letters began to appear on the floor, once again.

Do not be blinded by your ego.

Jera or Dagaz? The tree waaaaited!

Pick Me Up...It read. She was unsure but nothing had hurt her before and the tree hadnt caused any problems so far. She reached out and picked up the box.

GOODBYE SMALL!YELLOW! One of the branches waaaaaaved to her, as she reached for the box.

Grumble. Grumble. Grumble.

ANGRY!WILLOW!

*WHOMP*

*WHOMP*

Both whomps were the result of a branch or two striking the wall faaaaaarthest awaaaaaay from BAD YELLOW. The branches rose into the air then, disappearing out of sight. The door swung open so that BAD YELLOW could go throuuuugh, and light began to stream freely into the roofless enclosure once more.

Only one more doooOOor to go. The tree staaaaaaaaaared at BAD YELLOW as it thought of this.

The end-result of past actions.

Jera or Dagaz? The tree waaaaaaaiiiited!

Hmm..

How many doors did she have to get past?

Oh no!

What if this was a maze of never-ending doors!? That was the reason the Professor gave her a cookie, so she wouldn't starve to DEATH! Making sure she still had the cookie, Destiny continued through the maze, trying desperately not to just shave the thing in her mouth. Knowing that she could, at any moment starve, she wanted to eat and she felt hungrier with each passing second!

The thoughts of food, though, were gone as soon as she came across another door and more words on the floor.

Reading the words, then re-reading them again, Destiny stuck her hand in the rune bag and held the Jera up towards the keyhole.

Destiny was a GENUIS! Spelled wrong on purpose.

Here she had thought she was horrible at Runes, yet she was getting them all right, except for the first one, but she had done that on purpose. She didn't want to show the tree up and all. Not that she could show the tree up.

It was faaaar to smart. [/suck-up]

Another flinch as the tree gave her a pat on the back, she waited for the door to swing open before continuing on her journey through the never-ending maze of doors.

This time, she'd go to the LEFT!

Laaaast doooOOOor for STRANGE!HAPPY GREEN!

Branches began to loooower themselves in front of her again, a keyhole visible through them. The letters that appeared on the floor, this time round, read...

A major change of direction.

If Destiny knew what the Whomping Willow's thought of her, she would not be too pleased in being called Strange.

But, she couldn't, so it was alllll good!

And that tree..just popping out of nowhere! She was tempted to throw the cookie at it, but she wanted to eat it still, and she had no idea how many more doors she had to pass through. She could just take a little bite..

..or not.

More words appeared, making Destiny, once again, forget about the cookie.

Easy stuff!

Placing the cookie in her mouth, she stuck her hand in the rune bag and pulled out the Dagaz rune.

The tree was so patient.
