Cass raised her hand. she new this one! "Is it 12, professor?"

Di made a mental note to get that recipe for Miss Hollingberry, later. Not a part of being the resident Runes Professor that she had expected, but something that Di thought she might enjoy nevertheless.

"The runic number for Jera is twelve," she agreed, focusing her attention back on the class, in general. She hoped they were taking notes, because the information could come in handy, later on. "Does anyone know the associated colour?"

"I believe the color is light blue, professor." Kurumi said with a newfound excitement because of a new cookie recipe. "Which makes sense if you take into consideration that light blue represents health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness. Since we are talking about the rune of gradual chance, understanding and softness are closely linked to that. Sudden change may be hard to understand because it is, well, so sudden. Gradual change happens even if you do not realize it, but you can understand the outcome better because of it."

Cass raised her hand once more "Its light blue." Then she asked "Professor, why is it light blue anyway?"

HEHE. And Jera's colour association thing was also HER favourite colour. That was COOOOOL!

"Oh, it's light blue, Professor." Would she care if she nabbed a cookie?

Freya raised her hand "The color is light blue Professor." she said.

Daisy had pulled her cookie out of her bag and set it back on the table. She raised her hand and said, "It's light blue Professor."

Light blue and Jera go hand-in-hand because both symbolize the same thing: justice, profits, a new beginning and optimism - as in clear, blue skies - among other things."

Di nodded. "It is, indeed."

Moving on, though... "Jera's element is Earth and its celestial counterpart, the Sun. Does anyone know the gemstone linked to this rune?"

Cheyaaa Fletcher got another answer right! And the professor was using said answer as an example! Awesome. The boy fistpumped like a champ. He was so smat. So very, very smat.

"I believe it's the Carnelian gemstone", Chloe answered off the top of her head hoping she had remembered it correctly.

Once Willie was pushed back into reality, he looked around the class in somewhat of an awe. Did it already start? He blinked for a few moments, his gaze shifting from the demolished cookie to the professor.

He... wanted a cookie right now.

Pressing his lips, he scratched his head furiously as if he were some dog. It wouldn't be surprising if Willie actually had flees in his hair. He sniffed loudly, and then slowly had his hand go to his behind to pull the cookie out. It was harder since he was sitting down. Willie was only a few inches away from grabbing the cookie. The cookie slid down more into his pants, causing him to feel quite uncomfortable. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. Oh, this shouldn't be happening, he thought. Deciding to take action, he dug more into his back pants. Anyone seeing Willie could obviously tell there was something wrong with his behind. It was as if he were having the ultimate wedgie.

Willie paused, staring at the professor. "Did ya say gemstone? Them things tha' cost thousan' of pounds?" He asked, not able to surpress the wicked grin on his lips.

Lila raised her hand. "It's carnelian," she answered. Atleast she thought it was.

Gemstone??Hmm..Freya thought for a moment what gemstone linked to Jera??Is it Carmelia?Carnolia?Carnelian? Yah, that's it..Carnelian..!! She raised her hand "It's Carnelian gemstone, Professor." she said.

"Its Carnelian, Professor" she said after raising her hand

Ahhh Fee loved Runes. Her fave suject yaaay.
She raised her hand as she spoke.

Listening to the other's answers, Patroclus was rather proud of Kurumi, the first year lion, who was performing great in the lesson so far, he made a mental note to talk to her later.......he liked talking.....

"Professor, Jera's gemstone is Carnelian, it was used by the ancient Egyptians to make scarab bettles, to protect mummies in the jounrey to the afterlife.....so that's a type of change, life to afterlife."

Di nodded. "It's Carnelian," she agreed. "Historically, the Carnelian has been linked to victory on the battlefield and in arguments. Given the ancient belief that the gods or Higher Forces decide the outcome of battle, this gives the gemstone its association to justice. It is a positive energy-booster, brings about calm and encourages hard work, optimism and quiet joy. This is a Carnelian."

She flicked her wand as she spoke, causing a replica of the gemstone to appear on each desk. "You can keep those," Di said, picking up the replica that had appeared on her own desk, at the front of the 'classroom'. She liked Carnelians. Pretty stones.

Di gave the Lion a smile. "Take an extra point for that information, Mr. Hudson," she said cheerfully.


Back to the class, in general. "Coming to Dagaz, does anyone know the runic number for this rune?"


It was not, not, not a good thing that Di's hazel gaze chose that moment to [re-]land on Willie Cookie!Person. Because her pupils wiiiidened as he... as he... as he dug further into the back of his pants? For a moment, she had no idea at all how to react, and then Di cleared her throat.

"Is anything the matt -" She paused, because the boy took that moment to ask her a question. Gemstone? She had half-forgotten Carnelians and all that, she was that shocked, to be honest. "Yes, gemstones," she said. Mustnoteyethiskidoddly. "Each Rune in the Elder Futhark has a corresponding gemstone." Pauuuse. "Is... everything alright, Mr. -?" She didn't know the boy's last name, but Di tried to give him an understanding sort of smile. Unfortunately, she failed miserably at that so she settled for an inquisitive, how-may-I-help-you look.

One that she hoped didn't come across as a WHAT!ARE!YOU!DOING!ODD!CHILD? kind of look, instead.

"Isn't it like, a slightly darker shade of light blue though? Or...is it the same?"

hmm, this was still kinda confusing, but it was making a little more sense. "ok, so its kinda taking every day into account, not just seeing how different things are a year later."

Em raised her hand, "isn't it 24?"

Simon had been doing his best to pay attention in class, taking notes as they went along. As the replica gemstone appeared, he absently picked it up before placing it back down on his desk as they moved on to the next rune. "The runic number for Dagaz is 24," he answered after flipping through his notes and raising his hand before answering.

Amy raised her hand "the runic number for dagaz is 24, right?" she said as she picked up the pertyful gem and stared at it. ooh pretty! hehe she always liked shiny things maybe she was part crow or something hehe

Brittany zoned out for a moment looking at the willow and wondered who planted it. But it was class time so back to focus Brittany "its 24' she said answering but only realiing after she answered a few other people already had. ehhhh oh well. whats one more going to hurt

His hand was still stuffed in the back of his pants. He had clearly forgotten about it as the issue of the gemstone was much more interesting than the cookie that was sliding down his bum.

They were pretty, shiny and costed lots of galleons. He'd do anything to have those gems in his hands. The soft glistening surface, the way he could see his own reflection in it. Oh, OHHHHHHHHH WORD.

He stared at the professor, perplexed. Each rune has a gemstone? A GEMSTONE?! Willie was now to the point of breathing heavily, drool slowly oozing out from the corner of his mouth. He looked like a canine now. And yes, his hand was still stuffed back there.

"Is there... any way to get them gemstones? No' sayin' I want them. Oh nooo, ma'am. I be... uhh... wantin' ter see them! Yeah, tha's right. See them. Yu know... look. Stare. Admire 'em. Them pretty... lovely gemstones..."
