So this was the Lover's Lair eh? Wasn't very impressive. Dylan had expected maybe a nice comfy bed. Maybe even a sofa. How is any love meant to blossom in here? If only he had his wand, he could magic up a nice sofa.

Kimber followed Dylan inside and shut the door with a satisfying SLAM! She stood in front of him, arms crossed behind her. "Have a seat, Mr. Denver," she said, eying the one and only chair. "Then you can start by telling me why we're here."

Dylan eyed the chair she indicated to. That definitely wasn't a sofa. Maybe she wanted to sit on his lap. That would be the purpose of the one and only chair. He took a seat. He would wait before he tapped his lap, so she could come sit on it. "Why we are here? That's easy. You wanted to be alone with me. Of course you couldn't say that up in the library. But you can admit it now, I won't tell anyone. It is just me and you. Alone. In the dungeon." Was true.

'Oh dear Merlin, the boy was truly deluded!' It was worse than she first thought.

Instead of responding to his RIDICULOUS fantasy, Kimber's expression held and she took a few steps closer. "You will learn some interesting lessons today, Mister Denver," she said.

She lifted her wand in one quick, deliberate movement and just like that, Deluded!Denver was affixed to his chair. "Let's start with lesson number one, shall we?"

Dylan smiled, "I like the idea of learning from you. Teach away kind master." He was going to play this up as much as he could. He was going to get her back for putting him in detention.

He nodded, "Go ahead."

Alright, NOW he was pressing all her WRONG buttons. She would be damned if she'd sit here and listen to anymore of his disrespect. "LISTEN. TO. ME." she spat out; her voice matching the disgusted look on her face. "Do NOT talk to me like that. I am a staff member of this school and you WILL be respectful."

Having gotten that clear, (at least she hoped so for his sake) she stood up straight and smoothed out her robes. "Besides... once again, you assume too much." She smirked at him and took a few steps back towards the opposite wall. "I never said that it would be me teaching these lessons." No, she had someone special in mind to do that.

Dylan shook his head, "If I were disrespecting you ma'am, I would call you a heartless wench or something." True. He was being rather respectful right now. But he could be better. The situation wasn't going to bring out his meet the parents side. Plus Gold's parents loved him.

"You have someone else in mind?" he asked. Maybe Hot Lawson was coming. He loved Hot Lawson.

The librarian held her glare but waved off his attempt at name-calling. It just proved she was getting to him and that pleased her to her core.

She smiled at him again and shook her head with a mock apologetic expression. "I'm just terrible at introductions," she said, holding her hand to her chest. "Why don't I just call her in?"

Kimber turned towards the dungeon's door. "Oh Myrtle, dear!" her voice rang out.

"EEEEEEEEEE," Myrtle squealed as she flew through the door and whirled a few laps around the dungeon.

Settling near the professor, she looked around the dungeon. Why was she... "Ooo, handsome boy," she cooed, a small smile coming to her lips, looking first toward the professor and then over to the boy in the chair. Floating in his direction, she hovered right near his ear, her wispy fingers flicking up his shirt, occasionally slipping and passing through him entirely.

"What did you do to get stuck down here in the icky dungeon?" she baby-talked at him, snuggling up as best she could, seeing as she was dead. "You're too cute to be down here. You'd look better in my loo."

Maybe he'd enter that tournament and die! Then he could share her loo forever!

Myrtle? As in that creepy ghost woman girl child thing? This should be fun. Now he had two women in the dungeon with him. Sexeh! "Hey Myrtle." He smiled at her and waved. This wench was not going to win. He would fake it if he had to.

He shivered as she floated in and out of him. OMG that was creepy and cold. "Well, Myrtle, I only wanted someone to keep me company while I read. She wouldn't help me." In her loo? That was kinda creepy. "Um I am not actually allowed in the girl's bathroom. I wouldn't want another detention."

He eyed Kimber. She wasn't going to freak him out. No no.

"But you could read with me," she said, floating over to the other side of him. "I'd like to read in the loo, but I can't hold a book."

She put her face right next to his ear, whispering. "You're very cute. You know, if you died, you could be in the loo any time you wanted without detention. We could share it."

Myrtle giggled. It would be perfect. He could be her forever ghostie boyfriend!

She made like she would boink him on the nose, but, of course, her finger passed right through.

"Doesn't that sound like fun? Forever, in my loo. Together." Smiling, she hovered over, positioning herself so it appeared that she was sitting on his lap.

Dylan nodded. "I would love to spend forever in your toilet with you. That sounds like an ideal situation. But I don't see myself dying any time soon." Such a sad point. He couldn't suddenly die, just to make Myrtle happy.

"We should read together. You'd be far better company than Ms Donovan here. You seem a happy person." He shivered again, as she sat on his lap. She was making him cold. Maybe he'd have to get a coat or something to visit her. "I am Dylan by the way."

As the two conversed, Madam Donovan pulled out her wand and conjured a comfortable looking chair to sit in. Might as well get comfortable. She had a feeling they were going to be here for awhile.

She pulled out a small, leather bound journal from the pocket of her robes and took a seat. Of course the lighting in the moldy dungeon left much to be desired when it came to reading so Kimber was content just flipping through the pages.

She glanced up now and again, lackadaisically watching as Dylan tried to run his game on poor, sweet Myrtle. Hmph! She wasn't fooled. She saw the way he shuddered at her ghostly touch.

"Oh hey, Dyl," Kimber said, clearing her throat. "If an eternity in the toilet sounds pleasing to you, I'm sure we can arrange it with the Headmaster." Okay so maybe not ETERNITY but surely he'd be willing to consider the rest of the term.

Ah she speaks. Dylan looked over at Kimber. She called him Dyl. Only Lexi called him Dyl. "The name's Dylan. Or Mr Denver. Since you do not wish that I called you Kim or Kimber, I presume." He smirked at her. Take that evil wench.

"I am not sure that the Headmaster would quite agree. He does not wish there was death ever." HA!

"You impertinent, little boy," she said slowly; completely calm. Her cheeks were blazing torches but she refrained from raising her voice. It was the "Kim" that struck her. Only Thomas had ever called her Kimi.

"If I choose to call you the spineless, son of a banshee, I will." Her dark eyes fixed on him. "Whereas if you throw that tongue of yours in my direction even ONE more time; a lifetime in the toilet with be the least of your worries." And who EVER said anything about dying? Hmm!?

Was Mr. Denver reprehensible? YES! Misguided? Quite obviously. But stupid? She thought not. Maybe he was pushing for expulsion? If so, he was certainly on the right track.

Dylan smiled. He had achieved all he wanted to. And that was to irritate the hell out of her. He could play fair now. He leaned back in his chair, knowing he had won. "So what is it that you wished to teach me Ms Donovan?" Because obviously she was failing. He hadn't learnt anything. Except maybe that calling her Kim or Kimber was out of the question.

"I'd rather not throw my tongue in your direction"

Myrtle hovered in and out of him. "Welllll, it wouldn't be that hard to have you spend forever in my loo. Just a little... slip." Myrtle giggled, until the professor and the boy started talking to each other. Which meant the boy was ignoring her.

And.. and... and.. FLIRTING? Was that flirting? It sounded like flirting.

"EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEE," Myrtle wailed, crossing her arms. "You're supposed to be paying attention to me Dylan. You're my boyfriend now." Because, he had, after all, wanted to read with her and spend forever in her loo.

"I can go wherever you go until you're ready to stay in the loo. Together. All the time."

Oh hey Myrtle. He hadn't forgotten she was there. She was super cold on his lap after all. But he had been distracted by the gorgeous Professor. Dammit. That wasn't good. She was evil. Not a distraction. Women!

"I am so sorry Myrtle. I didn't mean to ignore you darling. I am sooo happy to be your boyfriend." Gold didn't have to know he was secretly dating a ghost. There were rules about that surely?

"That sounds like a plan. Can I shower and go to the toilet without you there?" A reasonable request. He didn't want some stalker ghost watching him at all times. Especially not the naked times.

There was a time that came to everyone when they realized that their efforts were a complete waste of time. That time had come for Madam Donovan. If this boy wanted to have his fun, whatever. She was done. She'd lost interest (like she so often did) and he was no longer worthy of her attention.

"I'm done teaching, Mr. Denver. You are free to go," she said, freeing him of his invisible binds. She wouldn't waste another second in this room. "You are hereby banned from the Library. Only respectful children are allowed that privilege."

Dylan frowned. She was giving up? Hmmmm. He didn't like that. And he hadn't even learnt anything. Except maybe that she was kind of a wimp. Then his face fell. "What? You are banning me from the library? That's unfair. I have my NEWTs this year. I have to study." He didn't like this one bit. As soon as he was out of here he was heading to see Lafay. He was going to complain.

"You should have thought about that before. Your future success is not of my concern." Maybe, just MAYBE if he'd thought about that before acting like a total prat, he wouldn't be here now.

With a polite nod in Myrtle's direction, Madam Donovan left the room.
