Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
Lilli-Rose sat down at the table after being sorted into Ravenclaw, as far as she was aware that was the brainy house. She sat down and looked at the other first years. She was too afraid to start a conversation so she hoped they would say hello.
The great hall was nothing like she had expected. Isla had told her what her sister told her about it but this was beyond the description. It was obvioulsy magical, no doubt about it. This made Lil think about what magic she could achieve. Could she ever be that good one day? Good enough to design a room with an enchanted ceiling and food that just kept appearing?
She reminded herself to visit the library. It was after all her favourite place in the world but she wanted to read up on spme famous Muggle borns. Maybe she would get lucky and be one of them one day.
She picked up a plate and filled it with all sorts of vegetables, some mashed potato and steak pie.
Rowan looked up from her plate. Another first year had seated herself next her, without saying a word. The girl looked very nervous and, since Rowan wasn't having much luck making friends, decided to introduce herself. "Hi", she said to the girl. "I'm Rowan Firestorm. So this is your first year too? Are you as nervous as I am?" She smiled at the girl, hoping that she might at least be able to get the new girl to say hello.

"Umm, it's...nice to meet you," said Skye, not altogether truthfully. She was so incredibly nervous about coming to a new school, on top of being shy to start with, and so far she'd recieved a less-than-warm welcome.
Several conversations followed, in which Skye just watched and listened, afraid of getting caught in the middle of something. She became mor confused by the second, and kept her mouth shut to hide it.
Carin noticed that the older girl seemed rather quiet, as if she were unsure of herself. Smiling at her, she offered her the bowl with the pudding. "Try, its brilliant," she suggested.
Skye seemed almost as nervous as... well, as a firstie. Maybe she hadn't been to Hogwarts before? "Are you a transfer student?" Carin asked after a moment, unable to stem her curiosity.

She looked new. Enya herself would personally help her. Enter. Evil. Face. Here. She was going to enjoy this year so much.
Enya leant forward, ignoring the other girl's she was with for a moment. Her gaze fixed on Skye, "Tell me a bit about youself" She said in her sweetest voice. Those who knew her best would know she was faking...and the only girl here would be Louisa. Enya shot her a glare to tell her NOT to tell, then looked back at Skye and smiled.

"Well, I'm an only child. My mum just got a new job here, so we just moved from Ireland a few weeks ago. I'm half Irish and half French." That would do for now, right? Oh how Skye hated talking.
Carin narrowed her eyes in Enya's direction; her sudden change of attitude was beyond suspicious, she was obviously faking it. Carin had seen her mother wear the same expression and voice every time her mother-in-law paid them a visit; although her parents were sure Carin did not know this, she was well aware of the hate between her mother and her grandmother. She had eavesdropped on enough conversations and rows between her parents to know the truth. Sometimes she thought that her father was the only person her mother was ever honest around.
The point was, there was that same malicious manipulative glint in Enya's eyes now, and Carin decided to put a stop to it. She had hated that part of her mother's personality. Before she turned to Enya though, she heard Skye's response.
"Half French, seriously? My grandmother lives in France, I send like every summer there," she grinned at the older girl, happy to have found something in common. She wasn't really sure how to encourage Skye to be a bit more talkative and social, but she was doing her best to be friendly to her anyways.
"And what about you? Why don't you share a bit of your precious golden history with us too?" Carin asked Enya sarcastically yet still sweetly, deciding to feed her back her own medicine. She could be as sly as anyone; Merlin knows Carin learned from the best at home over the years.

"Thanks." She answered her, "Is this cup for someone?" She pointed at the golden cup stood in front of her empty. Was she too excited to see Enya that she forgot to bring her cup? Ouch! This friendship is going to nowhere Louisa could see.
She knew that Enya was acting that way because of the last time she met her. She kind of opened her heart a bit... just to shut it right after that. Heh. So Enya-ish. "Have you found your notebook?" She started a conversation...hopefully?

She looked carefully as not to sound so silly in her first encounter.
"You of course can tell that I'm a first year student." She giggled proudly. She needed to start a conversation, wasn't she? Yeah she had to. It was her usual attitude, rambling around
Carin listened almost half heartedly to the conversation between Louisa and Skye - they seemed to oblivious to the situation, to Enya. But nice nevertheless, just... innocent.
Or just plain ignorant, Carin could never tell the difference.
"First year's great," she told Louisa with a smile. Not that she was speaking from experience, but still.

So much better then her first year. Gone with the quite, slightly coming out of one's shell - 11 year old. Now with a extreamly pretty, confident 12 year old.
Enya put her full attention to the girl, the more she knew about her the better. She smiled. "Half Irish and half french?" She asked fully interested now. "Interesting. Im just English" She told the girl. It wouldn't hurt to tell her that much! She smiled and reached for her drink. She drank some before turning slightly to Louisa.
Enya smiled slightly at hearing Louisa hastly introduce herself. Maybe she thought she had been friends with them for a while. She laughed in her head, no, but she wouldn't correct her. Afterall she hadn't asked. She smiled at Louisa - her sorta best friend. It hurt her to admit that one! Enya took another few bites of her dinner, finding herself hungry again. Hmm...
She nodded at Louisa's word but rolled her eyes at her second one. Of course! Who's else's would i be? Santa Claus? Although she didn't say that out loud. "Well yeah...Captain Obvious" She saidd rolling her eyes again, her voice sarcastic.. Seriously!? She shook her head in disbelief.
At the mention of her notebook she looked at Louisa. How could she remember that!? She asked. It was more then a week..After that afternoon, she hadn't seen or heard of Louisa. Thank God. But it was still kind of her to remember, although she wouldn't say that! Instead she said inbetween eating, "Yeah. Somewhere" With no indication of adding further.
Enya continued to eat and drink while she listened to Louisa and Skye talking. Making friends.
Carin noticed the look Enya gave Louisa, and her observing the two girls talking; she imagined that Enya's thoughts were similar to her own, marvelling at the girls' ignorance. But Enya also seemed much more malicious than Carin; she acted like their friend so she could use them and manipulate them.
Perhaps it wasn't really her place to say anything, but Carin was never one to hold her tongue and mind her own business. She was more of the provoking kind. Well, and being provoked, but that was a weakness Carin did not like to admit to.
She leaned over to the jug with pumpkin juice and picked it up to refill her cup, but her hand slipped and the liquid went cascading onto the tabletop and the robes of the student sitting opposite her...
...who just happened to be Enya.
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry!" Carin exclaimed clamping a hand to her mouth to hide her smirk but managing to sound sincere nevertheless. That's so clumsy of me, I really didn't mean to! Here, let me help, there's some napkins..." she babbled on, handing over some blue paper napkins and dabbing at the tablecloth.

Maybe he should upgrade the look too. A bit of bling. Yeah. Lets not. We'll just stick to the higher class gear minus the expensive jewelry. The expensive clothes was enough. She followed Bradin's gaze, although he was probably looking at the girls she wasn't. Actually he might've been looking at the boys, she didn't know, maybe he wanted a new, older, best friend ? Shrug, maybe she'd ask him later.

"You should be proud to have a name that's been passed down through your family. I'm sure its a nice name, even if you von't share it vith me." She wouldn't push it though. There was other things more important than knowing his full name. He was well-mannered, that was all that mattered to her.
Eyes flickering to the boy who tried to steal her away (would he be speaking again?), she let her greenish eyes settle on Fletcher. "Your school is very big, Fletcher. One could easily get lost their first few days here." That smirk of hers was back.
"Mmm," Fletcher murmured, "you know we have some of the best desserts here at Hogwarts, right? And there's a huge candy store in the village just outside our gates... I'll have to show you around some time. If you'd like."
Hehe oh yes. He was on the northern hottie's good side. "You're welcome. I am pleased and so very fortunate to be allowed to call you that, Sandra."
She was tempting him to tell her his full name butttttt.... did Fletcher really need another girl calling him 'Duncan'? "All right," he conceded, leaning in and dropping his voice, "my full name is Duncan Mundungus Fletcher the third, BUT," he raised one finger, "I'm only telling you this because you seem like a pretty classy lady who would never use that information against me."
He leaned back up and nodded suavely. Nothing wrong with striking up a little mystery there. What was in a name, anyway. Nothing.
"It is very large, and very easy to get lost in," he agreed eagerly. "Will you be attending classes here? I am an excellent guide if you need one...." Hint hint.

Dozer sauntered on over to the Ravenclaw table fresh from being sorted. Switching schools wasn't so difficult after all. Apparently he had landed in the brains of the outfit, and didn't that tickle him just a bit. Finding an empty bit of bench he sat himself down and took a long drink of water.
Cosette had kept her mind to herself, sitting at the Ravenclaw table. Seeing fellow Beaubaton girls made her realize how much she actually missed wearing those blue uniforms. She ran a hand down her black robes and scoffed. These things held little to show off her figure. Nibbling at her pink glossed lip, she reached over and plopped in a grape and started to chew. Guys ogling all over the other girls it was going to make her plans a little less easy.
Taking a sip of her pumpkin juice, she looked down her row of fellow Ravenclaws, noticing a few other students from other houses as well. They seemed like a few of them would be studious enough. As long as she got peace and quiet to study and to scheme, she wouldn't have a problem with them. Hopefully.
As she was chatting to Skye and Enya, she glanced a little girl sitting opposite of her. Not so little actually, she seemed new just as well as herself. And that meant one more introduction, HA!
"Hey there!" She waved at the girl who seemed absentminded and grinned. "I've seen you getting sorted into Ravenclaw." She made up the execuse, "And thought that you're first a year as well? Totally new?" Like me, she added in her head.
Louisa laughed at Enya's sarcasm, although she knew that Enya definitely didn't intend to make her laugh. She did anyways.
"Great then! Where did you find it?" She asked taking a sip of the pumpkin juice. And could she just speak more than two words at a time? Gosh! Louisa's mood started to worsen. She's been trying to ignore this girl's indifference all along, let's see how long she'd stand it. Deep breath.
Hearing snippets of several conversations Eliza learned that the girl next to her was called Louisa and she thought that she should introduce herself " hi I am Eliza. "

"Oh, I see the food hasn't arrived yet here either? Hmm," he mentioned casually, tapping his long fingers on the table. "What a shame."
But at least he had a good-looking lil dessert to stare at right cherrrrr, booya.
Miles smiled as the girl spoke and nodded politely sliding onto the bench beside her. "Aleksandra...I like that name. Do people call you Aleks for short?" He looked up at two more people joined them and turned back to Aleksandra, "Oh really? That's great. I can show you around if you want." He smiled at her and then turned his attention to the two that showed up, "Hi there, I'm Miles one of the Ravenclaw Prefects." He raised an eyebrow at the younger Huffie who had joined them but didn't say anything. Why should he? Fia came and sat with them all the time.
Suddenly, a cheery voice came from across the table and Lilli spotted a girl waving at her. This made Lilli ecstatic, an introduction!! 'Hi. Yeah, new first year. I think I remember your name, I'm kinda like that. Louisa right? I'm Lilli-Rose. Just call me Lil though.'
Finally, she wasn't a loner!
The girl knew her name? Wow! Sure as hell she didn't see that coming. Maybe when they were sorten then. Yeah that made sense.
Oo! An exciting first year. Cool. "Nice to meet you Lil." She beamed up at the girl. "Did you always want to be at Ravenclaw then?" She asked taking a bite of her dinner, "I always wanted to be a Ravvie. I love reading, science and things like this." She said.
"So, is it your first time in the wizarding world?" The curiousity was tugging, "I mean are you muggle born or not?" She added chuckling.

She turned to fully look at Louisa, eyeing her before she spoke. Enya shruggedd. She really wasn't sure. "Uh, My room i think" She guessed. Where had she found it?
Wha..? Was that an answer? Her room? "Your room?" She said with false enthusiasm, "Wha! I would definitely lose my notebook if I put it in my room. No doubt." She chuckled shaking her head. She poured another glass of pumpkin juice, this thing was awesome! And helped her to stay cool.

"I hope so." Louisa replied to the new girl. She was not very old, just close to her age. But something about her eyes made Louisa feel... something fishy. She didn't judge the girl. Not too soon. Let's hope she's...
And BANG! The worse has happened! A cup of juice was spilled over Enya. Like hell has just visited them. Closing her eyes instantly and moving away slightly from the Enya, Louisa smirked, "I.. I think it's a good omen. Spilling juice over someone." Ouch! That even sounded lame. Her eyes flashed with anxiety at what would happen.

As she waited for the new student's reply, she looked round at the other new students. She wondered if anyone else would like a older student to sit with them if she couldn't sit with this one.
Kody raised an eyebrow hearing someone speak from next to her, before turning and smiling slightly. Awhh. So yes, she COULD be mean. But not to the little firsties. "Hi Nekoda, it is nice to meet you to." She seemed nice but her being a seventh year meant that she knew alot about magic and the school, best not to offend her even by accident Eliza thought to herself. "Did you have a good holiday?" Eliza asked.
After being snubbed for the second time, once here and once on the express, Rowan got up and moved to another seat next to an apparently very thirsty boy who had seated himself farther down the table. This time, Rowan thought to herself, I am not going to introduce myself. Let someone else speak to me first instead.

These Durmstrang guys were getting on his nerves now. The Beauxbaton ladies? Not so much. Hehe, Jack was sure that Cosette had told him she was from there. She really fit the bar to attend Beauxbatons. But really, the Durmstrang guys? NO. Being wooed boy girls who should be trying to woo him. Jack would sulk, but he was in a public place. And a suave young man who looked awesome in Slytherin uniform did not sulk ... in public places.
Speaking of pretty ladies, Jack spotted Cosette, not surprisingly sat at the Ravenclaw table. Now, if Jack had remembered correctly, Ravenclaws were the clever bunch. And, although Jack was clever (it came with being awesome at everything), he still felt the teeniest bit intimidated, because these guys were really dedicated to their intelligence. When to Jack, it was just a bonus. So, Jack walked over there anyway, seeing that there were people from other houses sat there too, so they didn't mind, and sat with his back facing the table, but next to Cosette. "You're on your again, darling. Waiting for me to come along?" He smirked, leaning his elbows on the edge of the table.
Pearl sat down anxiously at table, biting her lip as she wasn't too familiar with anyone in her house. She let out a sigh and frowned, looking down at her purple gemstone necklace. She'd secretly hoped that someone would be hospitable and give her a gentle greeting.
She'd then miraculously heard her name, her eyes widening as she recognized the voice. It was her dear friend Rex!
She turned around and smiled, seeing his back turned to her. He'd just missed her. How could he? Her hair DID stand out, didn't it? She laughed, smiling wide, wrapping her arms tightly around him from behind. "REXY OF GRYFFINDOR!" .
" Pearl of RavenClaw" Rex hugged her back. " Did you know my hslf-sister, who I now call my sister, Victoria Trigwell is in your house" " How do you like the feast?" Rex asked Pearl.
( MuggleMad)
"Sister, this is my friend Pearl" Rex told Victoria. " I came here to say Hello to you" Rex said to Victoria. " Have you gone to Jason's parents place?" Rex asked Victoria.

"Well, we were told where to sit previously..." he mentioned, looking around at the other tables. Actually, he was perfectly fine with where he sat. Blue was definitely his color. "Besides, zis iz ze house of smarts, oui? Seemz like I'm in ze right place zen." Brilliant Noel, in the house of intelligent people. Of course he'd sit here even if he wasn't told to.
Well it didn't seem like any of Vashti's friends were going to come by the Ravie table right now. That was okay. Gave her time to pester meet new people. And look! There was one now!
Getting out of her seat quickly, she walked the few feet down the table to where a new guy, probably from either Beauxbatons or Durmstrang (she couldn't remember the robes colors of either school), and gave him a big, friendly grin when she reached him. "Hi! You're from one of the schools here for the Triwizard Tournament, aren't you? Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Vashti. Are you staying in the Ravenclaw dorms? You'll love it in there, I'm sure. Ravenclaw's great!" She was babbling. Sorta. Yeah. Oh well.
