Crappy jokes? Ouch. She laughed along, glad to get that off her chest. "Oh, no problem. And if anyone ever judges you because of that, just leave those blokes to me." She said with another laugh.
She gave her a smile. "Thanks. Oh, and that crappy jokes thing was for a laugh, I didn't mean to bring you down or anything." she said with a smile.

Well she certianly thought so and she was tired of all these arguments. She just wanted to sleep. But knowing her, that was never going to happen. GAH! Enya placed her hands on the table - pushing away plates of food and cups full of pumpkin juice - and leant her head into them. Maybe she could get a quick nap without anyone knowing. Fingers crossed.
All of what people were saying to her was muffled while she had her head in her hands but she defently heard when Skye told the Professor what had happened. Enya jumped up and turned on the older girl - ignoring the prefect and Professor standing there. "Skye!" She cried glaring at the girl. "You ratted everyone out! How could you! Saving your self. How rude!" She said rudly at the girl. She was far to tired for all this. "And then you get it all wrong!" She next cried taking a step towards the girl.
While she stood there - ignoring everyone else - glaring at Skye she heard Louisa tell the Professor her turn of advents. It hurt her deeply for Louisa to tell all too, how she had trown some juice - which she did - but she could have stayed out of it. But at least she got it right. So i guess she's in the clear, she told herself. She continued to glare at Skye - not caring what would happen. "Out of all the times you could have spoken up to end the fight, you chose instead to get everyone in trouble by telling on us" She whispered angerly to Skye. God was she angry....and tired.
But then she heard the Prefect begin to speak. Damn were they in trouble now. She thought peeking at him before she looked back at Skye. She'd get back at that girl some day! But what surprised her was that the Prefect really didn't know what happened, he only came over to see...not knowing anything else. The thought made her smile. Maybe they could get out of this, if only Carin didn't speak up...and tell on her. Although the fact the girl hadn't spoken in ages troubled her. Enya peeked towards Carin. After a few seconds of looking at the other girl she looked back at Skye. Glare. She wondered what the Professor would do now.

Although on the other hand, she had to say something. After all, she was a second year, and everyone knew there was a huge difference between eleven and twelve year olds.
She looked away from the Prefect and touched her fur. If only Enya had managed to get it a shade darker, she'd look exactly like her cat Astor, who was probably now waiting for her in her dormitory. Suddenly, Carin felt very tired with the nights events, wishing she could just be left alone, hugging Astor, wanting to just fall into a dreamless sleep.
Unfortunately, her housemate and fellow troublemaker was likely to make this wish unattainable this year. Listening to Enya speak, Carin decided to add her twopence, too - after all, she wasn't going to allow Enya to blame only her.
"Actually, Skye's account is pretty accurate. The initial jug-drop was mostly an accident, that's why I cleaned it up - successfully, might I add," she added with a glance at Cedric. She was a true Ravvie, after all; her spells usually worked. the key word there being usually, though. "As for the rest, well... things just spiraled out of control. I don't usually lose my temper like this, but I couldn't help it with her behaving like she owned the place! I'm sorry for the trouble I caused and all, but there's no way I'll apologize for trying to teach her a lesson in good manners," Carin announced.
And she meant it, too - she really was sorry for making such a mess and getting everyone involved, but she could never sincerely apologize about infuriating Enya. That was just too sweet a sight to behold. Besides, at least she wasn't lying about the whole event to a teacher; she was well aware she was as much at fault as Enya was. And though Carin was a lot of (not necessarily flattering) things, she was certainly not a liar.
"As for you," she added, turning to Enya. "You, how can you get mad at Skye for being truthful? It's like you got mad at Louisa before - for no reason whatsoever! And you expect these people to like you? To be your friends? And as for stopping the fight - admit it, you'd probably try to have cursed Skye too had she tried, so it's better for her that she kept quiet now, isn't it?"
Carin stopped, breathing hard, suddenly realizing how shrill and loud her voice had gotten in her agitations. Ooops. Attracting even more attention was not something she had wanted to do, looking as she did in her current furry state.

Watching her sit, he followed her with his eyes, levelly. "You do not get to decide when to go. You are able to go only when you have been dismissed."
"Thank you," he said turning to the eldest once more. "I wish that, perhaps, you had come to get someone from the staff table for assistance before it got out of hand, but somethings these things happen quickly."
He nodded at her, before, then, turning to hear another account of the events.
The sight of the tears welling in the young student's eyes softened Preston and he knelt down once again. "Sometimes," he began softly, "the best way to help is to go and get someone else. Does that make sense?" Trying to catch her eye, he looked up at her, as his kneeling had put him below eyelevel.
"Thank you for telling me what happened, too. You made a mistake, but it's not a horrible one. Ok?"
Standing, Preston turned to the Prefect, whose story seemed to lack detail... which was to be expected if he witnessed it from another table. "Thank you for intervening, Mister Leone. I do think I can manage, if you'd like to return to your classmates."
But then Miss Mayberry chimed in again. "ENOUGH!!" Preston bellowed as he swung around.
"Your attitude leaves much to be desired, Miss Mayberry, and I will not have it. It would have been far easier for you to have cooperated. Instead, you chose to first accuse, and then later to share an incomplete story that made yourself look completely innocent. And you have continued to yell and carry on. You will sit there and be quiet until I am ready to deal with you. Understood?"
Professor Kingsley loomed over her, eyes narrowed. He was hungry, for Merlin's sake, and in addition to being rude, this child was prolonging this encounter a great deal.
"Your honesty that your action was intentional is appreciated, though it was extremely poor judgment that will not go unpunished. In the future, if you are having difficulty with a student, bring it to one of the professors or to your prefects."
He was about to address them all when she continued, rather shrilly. "That is enough," he interjected. "It is not for you to dole out reprimands."
-----
Clasping his hands behind his back, his expression was grim. "Miss Althiem and Miss Carter. It would have been much better if you had called this situation to someones attention before it got so out of hand. I hope you will exercise better judgment in the future."
He moved to consider the other two girls. "Miss Mayberry. Miss Hughes. Five points, each, will be taken for the mess and the disruption. Not only have you disrupted the feast for a number of people, the wanton waste of food is also inappropriate."
He paused. "Miss Hughes, you will see me in my office first thing tomorrow to further discuss this incident and how you can better respond in the future. And as for you, Miss Mayberry, your repeated insolence and disrespect has earned you a detention. You will report following the feast. No arguments."
Setting his jaw, he stood in front of them all. "You will all remain at the feast until dismissed by the Headmaster. I will take care of the fur and the mess, so there will be no need to leave early. I would also recommend that you separate yourselves."
Preston unholstered his wand, eying all the girls involved. "Let me take care of that fur, first," he said, giving his wand a deliberate point in the direction of the girl. It wouldn't do to have a furry girl at the feast! Satisfied with the spellwork, he turned to the mess on the table, and the mess on the people. With a few quick swishes, he had siphoned up the spilled juice and vanished the toppled food.
"Now get out of my site before I change my mind."
Skye's eyes widened as Enya whirled around and started screaming. Her mouth opened a little in shock, and she actually leaned away from the younger girl, speechless.
Skye relaxed a little then. She wasn't in trouble. No detentions, no angry letters home. She flushed a little when the professor addressed her. "Yes, sir. I'm sorry. It all happened very quickly and I kind of froze. If something like this happens again, I won't hesitate to come and fetch someone," she promised.
Skye blew out a sigh. She picked up her still-unfinished plate of food and moved down the table, quietly removing herself from the rest of them. She didn't want any more drama tonight. She took a seat quite a ways down and glanced at the people sitting near her. She had heard that there were some visitors this term, but she couldn't distinguish who was foreign and who was not. Skye kept her eyes on her plate, very deliberately not looking at where she had very recently sat.
Arlie stared blankly at the students around her. She wasn't in the greatest of moods. She had gotten into a fight with her twin brother two days ago, so she had neglected to say good-bye. And now the only way they could communicate was through the post, which wasn't likely. She sighed, then focused her stare. There had to be someone here that she recognized from last year...right?

She giggled a bit as Ty tried to hide his offended-ness. "I guess you really don't like being called a first year."

Margaret was nothing but thoroughly relieved to see that Louvain had FINALLY shut her mouth, and, for a while, she even managed to eat some more vegetables and potatoes as she waited patiently for the dessert. After all, she may hate the school already, but she had to admit that the food was quite good indeed. No, it was excellent. If only the place was empty... But no, boisterous students had to be filling the place. Boisterous ones and aliens... Merlin, would she ever be given some rest?!
Definitely not feeling like answering, she rolled her eyes and grunted a firm 'no' as she picked her plate in order to shift away slightly, which she ended up not doing for the sole reason that some silly girl was on her other side and she'd bump against her if she tried to move. Disgruntled, she groaned and settled the plate back down, hoping she wouldn't have to speak.

Wow an estate in France AND a townhouse in Kensington? She must be loaded... Morgana thought somewhat sarcastically. Wow, France! That's really cool. I've always wanted to go there. My mam always said I had French in my blood."
"Thanks it's nice to be welcomed!" She liked Madeleine. Then she realized. Morgana and Madeleine. Both start with M's... They look a like. That is, if Morgana wasn't crazy. French in her blood? No. This was all just a coincidence...
Nia looked up to see Ellie slide in beside her. Then she glanced at her new badge before letting her gaze fall to her plate. She swallowed slowly. She knew Ellie wanted an explanation. She could see it in the girl's face. But she just didn't have one. She had only known she'd change position. No reason why. She was as much in the dark as everyone else, until she had a chance to go and see her head of house.
She twiddled her thumbs until the table, before looking back up at Ellie.
"Rubbish, isn't it?" she said, glancing out from under the fringe that had fallen across her eyes.
"And no, I didn't know..." she answered, before Ellie had the chance to question that. She did glance down at her Prefect badge once more though.
...and then she felt a tap on her shoulder.
Looking up, Nia couldn't help but grin, despite the Quidditch news. "Yayness...awesome job!" Even if Nia had totally expected him to be a 'Claw. He just had that aura about him in the bookshop.
"May I offer you a proper and warm welcome to the bestest house," Nia said with a wink. "With an awesome Common Room." She gave a little nod. "Aaand, a pretty nice Prefect." And with that, she chuckled.

As he glanced around to see how everyone else was taking the news, Max noticed Ellie walk by and arrive near Nia. Since they were the only people he knew and he was currently surrounded by strangers, Max stood up and headed down to the older girls. "Hey," he began, tapping Nia's shoulder to get her attention. He stood there with an awkward, shy grin before continuing. "Guess what! I'm a Ravenclaw!"
He was pumped.
Wibble! Ellie wibbled and sniffled. This was very unchararistic of her, but this was BIG. And... she didn't know?
Ellie glanced up at Max for a second, flashed him a smile of a non-verbal congratulations and hello, and turned her attention back to Nia. "You must have known something! Didn't they tell you you couldn't-" Captain. She was going to say 'captain', but this was the point the badge had finally caught her eye.
Her jaw dropped. Literally, she was speechless. For a whole 5 seconds, maybe. "They gave you THAT?!" She lifted a finger up to point at the badge. "You must have known then! Didn't they tell you why you weren't captaining?" She glanced up at Vindictus, then the headmaster, then their head of house agian. It just alllll made no sense. Of course, she was verryyyy happy for Nia being a prefect and all. And she'd let her know. Once she got over this initial shock.

What?Wait you're almost 13? But aren't first years generally 11, almost twelve? That would mean she could be Morgana's age... but Morgana was a second year.
Clearing her throat, she shiftily glanced from Margaret to Teagen then fully grinned at the lad, "Of course I did, can't speak for Margrat she's full of opinions as you know by now" she mused then pointed at the chicken leg, then hesitated and pointed at the meat pie, then hesitated again and pointed at the turkey.."uhhh" she sighed and shot Teagan a failed look, "i'd be lying if I said anything other than EVERYTHING TASTES GOOD" she mused and picked up a chocolate dipped biscuit, "they really done a good job on this one" she pointed at the feast, the elves were really great here. Really great. Now she had to take food for Billy Bob too.
Teagan followed her finger as she pointed from item to item of food. He laughed heartily once she pronounced that she could not possibly make up her mind. "Oh, I can believe that!" He picked a piece of turkey and put it on his plate, being more interested in talking than eating. "And really, full of opinions? Doesn't look like that to me. Look, she hardly managed to utter a monosyllable," he poked fun at Margaret's less than enthusiastic reply to his question of whether they had missed him.
Noticing that Louvain kept staring - more like gaping - at something or someone, his curiosity was piqued. "What are we looking at exactly?" he narrowed his eyes, as if to inspect better whatever there was to see.

Disgruntled, she groaned and settled the plate back down, hoping she wouldn't have to speak.
But of course she had to speak. Louvain was looking like a pig again! "Oh, for Merlin's beard, just pick one thing and go with it. You'll have plenty of nights to try the rest," She said in annoyance. Never mind the manners. "Unless you want to turn into a ball," She snorted, peeking at the girl opposite her for a split second before turning her attention back to her plate.
Teagan was not phased in the least by her negative response. "What was that? 'Oh, we missed you, Teagan! We were wondering where you were! Nothing's as exciting without you around!" He offered a possible (and improved) response from her, mimicking her voice quite well. Knowing full well that would make her snap at him or scream and shout, he didn't mind. At least it would get her to speak - that certainly would've been an improvement.
"You shouldn't talk to her like that," he shook his head on hearing Margaret give Louvain a sermon on eating habits. "Girl has a healthy appetite, from what I can see, not only for food..." He grinned at Louvain and her love of good cuisine and good looks, if the Beauxbatons guys were anything to go by.

LeGASP. Morgana was a bit French?! Coincidence... coincidence she told herself sternly. It WAS a coincidence... no doubt about it. Just another crazy coincidence. 'Thanks! I love it there, really. 'No problem. You can call me Maddie, by the way. Madeleine is such a mouthful!' a bit like Morgana. Meep. Scary stuff, this.

Laughing, he set the goblet down back onto the table before looking back over to Trixie. "Bonjour Trixie. It iz very nice to meet you. My name iz Noel Laurent."
Glancing one more time to the Slytherin table to see if both Jermaine and Monique were doing alright, and then to the Hufflepuff table to see if Brielle was alright as well, Noel smiled once again as he let his gaze fall back onto Trixie. "Fantastique. I will be looking forward to hanging with you in ze future zen. Are you excited about ze tournament?"
Trixie smiled softly, glad that she hadn't made a bad impression on him then. "Good. I'm glad" she grinned before glancing back around the great hall again. The buzz that was flying around in the atmosphere was unbelievable but the sudden realization that there was to be no Quidditch dropped a few peoples moods, Trixie's included. She loved playing after all. Even if she was too enthusiastic. "It's a pleasure to meet you Noel" the Blonde smiled back. Ah she loved how polite these guys were being. It was so squeeworthy.
Aww he was so cute. He looked forward to hanging out with her. Though whether it was the truth was anybody's guess. Was she excited about the tournament? "I guess I am. Well yeah of course I am" she corrected herself. Even with the danger element, it was still going to be enjoyable to spectate. Or if she could decide whether she wanted to enter herself.
------------------------
But just then she heard Vashti shout. Well to be honest she couldn't NOT hear it. It was right in her bloomin' ear hole. Guess someone wasn't happy about there being no Quidditch was there.
"OW" the Slytherin turned to stare right at her Ravenclaw friend. Deafening or what?
"Vashti you have like, loads of years left to play Quidditch" she giggled. Heck she could even pursue a career if she wanted to. By what she had seen, Vashti played well. Very well. No need to worry.

Emily saw two girls younger than her talking, but they looked so very much alike... "Excuse me but are you two twins?" Emily asked, "I had a twin but she died last year, she tripped and fell down the dtairway in the entrance hall, be careful going up or down them."
