"That must have been hard on your mum. And you and your dad." She took a bite of her sandiwhich and pondered a bit before continuing. "To be honest. I'm sure your mom is completely happy with you going to Hogwarts. Just i guess the shock of everything happening is, ya know, keeping her from enjoying that excitement. I'm sure with your aunt coming over is gonna help." She took a sip of her punch and smiled at Liz. "And I mean, with you leaving and all probably just impacted everything even more." CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP! "I mean, not, like....... it's just, well..." ACK WHAT NOW? "I just mean," She sighed. "Just give her some time. She'll come through. Just visit her, and write her often. Just to, let her know you're alive, ya know? Write to her once a week, or so. I think she just needs to know someone's there for her." She groaned and lied her head on the table. Advice was NOT her area of expertece. She hoped that what she had said had not upset her. She wanted to help her friend. Liz probably thought Pam was the worst person ever. She groaned again. "Sorry Liz, I'm not good at advice." she sat up, smiled at her new friend, gave her another hug, and put her head in her hands. ooc: Sorry that also took a while |

Pearl leaned back in her chair and looked down at her shoes, the robe's length right at the top of her ankles. She smiled as she saw the purple shoelaces on her black converse shoes. Wheee. She thought. |

Pam went on to say that Liz should keep in touch with her mother often so that she knew everything was alright. She hadn't thought of that. Of course that would make things worse if she didn't write. Liz realized that she had been avoiding all contact with her mother so as to protect herself from the sorrow that would come with the memories that her mother awakens. Wait, what was with the lying the head on the table and groaning? Liz worried that she had done something wrong when Pam explained that she just wasn't good with advice. What was she saying?! "No, you're wonderful with advice! I just realized about a million things thanks to you," Liz hugged her back and tugged her hands away from her face, "Hey now, stop that. I knew what you meant. Really. And it helped. A lot. Okay?" Liz gave a laugh weak from tears, "We just have to keep comforting each other back and forth, huh? We need tissues for Christmas." ooc: we're both taking a long time. deep stuff like this takes a long time haha |

Taking a bite of his toast he shakes his head. "I guess, as dey say...it's time te move on." It would take time but eventually he'd probably be able to sleep normally again, five or six months at most. Why was it everything seemed to happen at once, first Anya's letter, then quidditch, now this... "Oh, and I'm JD." |

"I'll lend you Tahlia whenever you need her. I mean, everything else aside, a mom's daughter leaving for a school term is kinda hard. I mean my mom's probably doing the same thing. Just worrying about me being here." She smiled remembering the day she left the train. She wanted her dad to be there, but he couldn't get through the barrier. She laughed. "I'll tell my mom to send some, next time I send out Tahlia." She giggled. She was glad she could. She was soo afraid her friend was upset because of her. She couldn't live if her new friend was mad at her. She took the last bite of her sandiwitch and swallowed. "So where to now?" She said as she pulled her hair behind her ear. ooc: Oh I know! lol it takes quite a bit |

She shrugged, "To the common room? We'll find something to do there. Wait, what about the library? We can research the Triwizard Tournament! Er, unless you don't want to. The common room is great with me." she tried to cover up for the Triwizard comment, remembering how her friend had reacted at the Goblet of Fire. Actually, she really wanted to go research, (it was one of the things she did best) but more than anything she wanted Pam to be comfortable. |

"She has let it known, a few times now. She just doesn't care for me in that way, though I do." Looking at her over the top of his glass of juice, surprised, at her last comment. "That's aweful, really." |

Pearl settled in her seat quite happily, looking around at the jumbling new first years. She'd wondered if they were any different from the muggle-world she'd known. Pearl stretched out her arms, letting her purple hair slowly fall behind her shoulders, her purple gemstone slipping back under her shirt. She'd sighed and pondered if she should strike up a conversation with someone, hoping that she'd make more friends. She turned to the right of her, biting her lip. Would they even be hospitable? |

Ellie rubbed her eyes as she entered the Great Hall. She was tired. And annoyed. She shouldn't BE tired. She had already had a rough night the night before. Then LAST night? This just stunk. She eyed JD down at one end of the table, but sat faaaar away from him. She didn't want to deal with a moody teenager. Immature, moody teenager. She took some eggs and toast on a plate and lifted her fork. Her mind drifted, not to the boy a the table, but to quidditch. Which led to the Tournament. Well, she might as well make the most of it, right? She took a bite or two of he breakfast, but mostly busied herself by playing with the food. Playing and thinking. |

A movement catches his eye, and he looks up. His eyes widening he finishes his juice and says "Excuse me, Addison." jumping up he grabs his last toast and exits the hall through the other door from where Ellie had come in. He soooooo didn't want to talk to her at the moment. |

What the students didn't realize was that he was a bit sore about having to cancel Quidditch for the term due to the tournament (asking him why would be dangerous), and to add injury to insult, members of his own house had to embarrass him at his first showing as the Deputy Headmaster hence his loss of appetite. Vindictus stood there glowering for another minute. "If you need me, I'll be in my office. Approach with caution." The warning was given (would anyone heed it?) and tension could be felt all around him as he marched out of the Great Hall. |

Sora walked through the crowds of people in the hall and tried to find her house table. She then spotted a group of Ravenclaws at a table. 'I'll go sit by them and hope I'm in the right spot.' She made her way over to the table adn took a seat alone a few feet away from everyone. She decided to try to get to know some of her fellow housemates, but maybe not right now. Sora tended to be shy at first impressions. She was content to sit there and eat the amazing looking food on the plates in front of her. |

Well, if Kellen from the summer had been asked to predict what he thought this school year was going to be like, he probably wouldn't have guessed it to be a lot like it was. He didn't really think of himself as moody, as he sat there at the table and swirled his drink, but it was true that the few other Claws at the table weren't sitting anywhere near him. |
