The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Pushed back at the force of the shield charm from Vashti, he groans. Looking up he sees Ellie, come over and stand between them, "Leave it Ellie." he replied angrily. He didn't need her in the middle of it as well. Struggling with his knee, he gets himself up to standing.
Feeling a sharp jab in his jaw, he raises his fist again. He wasn't about to take anymore of this. "YE GIT!" He yells, then realizes Miles came in yelling.
Glaring at Jacob, he jerks his head toward him "Ask him!" he replies to Miles. He was ticked, and now with an injured knee. Could it get any worse then it already was? His fists still balled up, he thought maybe he should just get out of there.
Pamphylia walked into the dorm. She didn't know what was going on, but there was now a prefect standing over two boys. She watched as one boy tried to stand. She quickly ran over and put the boy's arm around her shoulders. She was short so it was kinda hard, but she didn't say anything, determined to help the boy stand.

"Really? What was that?" And...she'd better get an answer. Or... it may just be her and Jacob on the floor next.

What his problem? He had lots of problem... but for this specific moment. "I...don't... know" he said. He was just having a bad day... Should he apologize? Nah! But he was ready to fight again if the boy did anything...
He was forced away by vashti's charm
He looked up as miles entered "I think it was a fight?" Was it a fight? Could have been!

That kid had issues tonight.
Vashti was a bit relieved to see Ellie. At least she wasn't the only one trying to stop this dumb fight. Oh, and her Shield Charm actually worked! She was proud of herself.
But then- EEEEEP! Prefect alert! Vashti wasn't sure whether this was perfect timing or not. "Well..." she began, looking from the prefect to Jacob to JD and back again, not quite sure how to explain what had happened. It was all just...random and weird. "Jacob for some...reason tackled JD and they started fighting and then they stopped for a second but they were going to start fighting again so I used a Shield Charm to keep them apart and Ellie stepped between them to make sure they stopped and then...well then you came in." And she hoped that run-on sentence made sense, even if this fight didn't.

Miles stopped himself from rolling his eyes. This was really all stupid. "JD calm down. Do you need to go to the nurse?" It seemed like he was injured. His eyes went to Jacob and he frowned. "You come with me." Teach him to start fights for no apparent reason. This was not acceptable. "Vashti put your wand away alright?"
Jacob went wide eyed. Oh Geez. This was a first! He gulp hard. Jacob shot a sort of apologizing look at JD. He couldn't say anything, cause it would look weird to say it after he got in trouble... it would look like he was only saying it cause he was gonna get in trouble.
Jacob stood up waiting to see what Miles would Do.
Looking over as an arm went around him, to help stead him, he's able to finally catch his balance. Stupid knee... he thinks silently. His eyes narrowing at Ellie, he shakes his head, what was it? Did she think he couldn't handle Jacob by himself? Was that why she didn't care for him, thought he was weak?"Ellie, drop it!" he said even more angrily, turning as Vashti got into it as well with explaining.
"I'm fine." he threw at Miles. He knew he wasn't but he was not going to show any weakness if he could help it. He just wished he'd gotten in a few more punches. Sighing frustratedly, he glares at Jacob again. What was that kids problem anyway?
"It is...very lovely." She replied softly with a smile to match. More at his bilingualism, it was enticing. As were many things about Noel. What luck it was that she had gotten boarded up with him.
Ah. He wanted to know more about her. Sandra knew the conversation would turn that way soon, it always did. Not that she minded, especially with Noel. Heh. "I enjoy a number of things," She pulled out the pin that held her hair in a tight bun, and let her hair fall to her shoulders. "Quidditch is one of them. I also enjoy a good game of wizards chess, and shopping of course." She would have to visit that village near by soon. "I do spend a lot of time in the potions lab. Hope to pursue a career in potions some day." She shrugged lightly, her career options were still up in the air.
"Vhat about you? How does the handsome Beauxbatons male spend his free time?" She smirked at him, snuggling back in her seat. Yeah, she was being a bit flirty, but how could she not with him?
She must have loved her school very much. Much like he was with his. Of course, living there for so many years, it would be kinda hard not to become attached to it. It was only a shame that his last year of schooling would not be there, but at this school. Then again, this tournament was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was nice though, that he got to share it with a few certain people.
Watching her hair fall around her shoulders like a waterfall of chocolate. Of course, he had to relate it to some type of food, but he was starting to get hungry again as usual. Not that he wanted to eat her hair, that would be a bit disturbing. Aw, so she liked quidditch! He never really got into wizard's chess though. And of course...shopping. What girl did not like it? But, oh... "What type of career in potions do you have your eye on?"
Hehe. He could not argue about being handsome. "Well, I enjoy flying, zough not so much ze sport to tell ze truth." There were too many rules in the sport. "Actually, most of my free time is outside doing somezing...active." Having been stuck up inside all day sitting and studying, he needed it. Yes, he had an exciting life.

"Wait!" Ellie told JD. Then she turned to Miles.
"Please, Miles, look." She gestured to herself, Vashti, JD and Jacob. "Look who's involved. Can't you see it?" Because something had dawned on here in those few confused moments. And... well... it made sense. If Miles could just seeeee. She didn't want Jacob to get in trouble.

Put her wand away? Oh yeah, that probably would be a good idea, wouldn't it? Yeaaahhh. "Yes, sir," she said, doing as she was told. She just hoped Ravenclaw wouldn't lose too many points for this. They were already behind ten points; they didn't need to go any lower...

Miles looked at JD and smirked, "Good you can come too then." What was he going to do? He didn't really know but...he'd think of something. "Come on you two." He turned away and then turned back when he head Ellie, "See what? Just because Quidditch was canceled doesn't give them a right to fight. Sorry Ellie I have to do my job."

Pam thougth this was her time to speak up. Mainly to the boy she was holding up, but partially to the prefect. "Do you want me to come along too? Or can you walk fine on your own?" She just wanted to make sure this boy would be fine.

Not fair.
"But.... All our tempers are running high... I'm probably at just as much fault. JD and I were arguing before any of this happened. He got angry." Ellie spared him a glance. "I've never seen him mad, and I've sent him to the hospital wing. With worse injuries than this." She wrinkled her nose and bit her lip and took a deep breath. "I just... don't think... anyone should be punished as if they were thinking straight. They're not." Well... Vashti seemed pretty rational. And she'd tell anyone that she was, as well. "They're boys." she added. That would explain it, right?

Nodding slightly at Miles, but not taking his eyes off Jacob, he looked apologetic, which was odd he thought. Why would he look that way if he'd intended to start a fight.
Shaking his head at the younger student, "No, I can manage. Thank you." he says trying to soften his voice a little. She was after all just trying to help. On the other hand Ellie, was driving him nuts! Rolling his eyes he turns away from her plea's to Miles.
Putting all his weight on his left leg, he manages to exit out of the common room with Miles. He was ticked, but knew it would be better just to go as he was told.
Jacob wondered what miles was gonna do to him. And Even JD was supposed to come... maybe to watch Jacob be tortured... Which would be amusing if he wasn't the one who was gonna be punished. He Followed Miles quickly, then Stopped suddenly as Miles turned back around. Come on Just get this over with!

Vashti, at first, hadn't understood where Ellie was going with it, but by now it was perfectly clear. And it seemed like a good idea, so she nodded, deciding to go with it. "Ellie has a point," she agreed. And that was all she could think to say. The second year had explained her points pretty well; there wasn't much to be elaborated on.

Looking at Ellie he shook his head, "Calm down Ellie it'll be alright." Giving her a smile he turned back around and looked at Jacob. "Well what're you waiting for? " Shaking his head he walked out of the common room.
Pam watched as the prefect and the two boys left. She sighed. More points loss for us. But more importantly two boys were hurt. She didn't like it when people got hurt, and she wanted to make sure they got better. She went and sat in a chair by the fire and brought her knees up to her chest, and worried for a while.

"What?" Ellie watched Miles leave. Talk about a foiled plan. What was that smile? That was what had freaked her out. This did not seem like a smile situation.
She gave Vashti her most quizical look. Yeah, she was confused.

Ari had heard the girl speaking lowly--not that she was eavesdropping. She could hear everyone talking lowly--or maybe not quite so low *coughcough*, but it wasn't until Ari noticed that no one had replied to her that she realized she was being adressed. She turned her head--the illusion of looking made people more comfortable, she noticed--and smiled in the direction of the voice.
"Pleasure. Arienna Malone, sixth year." Now, check this out. Ari had been practicing. She rose from the sofa, approximated that she was sitting at the table that was five steps away, and closed the distance, reaching out her right hand to greet the young woman. Bam. Ninja Ari.
"It is nice to meet you, Arienna." She said in a pleasant tone, but not with one of her polite smiles. No need to waste one on a girl who couldn't see. Reaching out, she grasped the girl's hand and gave it a few shakes while she studied her features. Much easier for her to do now that the girl was standing in front of her.
Dropping the girl's hand, she patted the chair beside her. Sandra had plans on asking the girl about how she got around the castle alone, when she noticed some younger students pulling wands on each other. She wasn't surprised since they had put on a similar show at the opening feast. "Do your housemates always fight vith each other?"

Sandra shrugged her shoulders gently at his inquiry. She wasn't really sure what she wanted to do with potions, just that she wanted to work with them. There are so many jobs that involve working with potions, and she still didn't know exactly what field to pursue. "Maybe creating potions..." She mused with a dreamy look in her eyes. "I defiantly vant to study potions more after Durmstrang." That was the only thing she was certain on; one couldn't want to work with potions without studying them extensively. Blinking a few times, she tilted her head to the side thoughtfully. "Do you knov vhat you vant to do after graduating?"
So she had found an active guy. Danika would like this one. "Do you like to swim, Noel?" Sandra wasn't one for spending much time outside unless she was in the air or in the water. The only time she was outside and not doing either was when she was with her best friend. Most of her time was spent inside in a potions lab or with friends. It was a shame he didn't like to play quidditch, she would have enjoyed seeing him play. "I don't spend much time outside.....unless I am in good company." Hint. Hint.
Luna walked in putting her books down on the table lightly looking at all the kids. she was pail with wavy hair. to shy to say hi. she hoped somone would see her
Hugo saw a girl standing alone, then remembered he wanted to make some friends.
"Hi," said Hugo to the girl. "I'm Hugo. And you?" He smiled.

Creating potions, was one of those jobs that required a rather in depth knowledge on the subject. Not to mention stressful and time consuming, though she seemed to have her heart set on the topic. Unlike him, who was almost cringing at the idea. Creating spells was one thing, but potions? He had to admire her for her passion though. "Me?" Oh, that surprised him. He was thinking too much about her. "Umm, well I do want to study more after Beauxbatons, definitely." But after that? "I am leaning more towards becoming a Professor, or something similar."
Inspired by the Professor's at Beauxbatons of course, and he was only too lucky to be at a different school this year with different Professor's and teaching methods. "Aw, oui. Swimming, running, you name it, I will probably like it." Except quidditch. "Why? Do you like to sw-" Oh, she didn't like spending time outside? Hmm, he supposed that answered his unfinished question then. Unless he was assuming? "Well, will my company be enough to join me on a walk one of zese days? Or a fly? Whatever you want."
She had agreed to studying, so why not try something else too? It was worth a shot. Glancing to the girl Sandra had introduced herself to, Noel was beginning to wonder what was up with the sunglasses the girl had on, completely missing the cane of course.
Vashti, quite honestly, was speechless. Probably one of the few times in her life. All she could do when August lifted a couch was go o_____O.
SPOILER!!: Carin & Louisa <3
Vashti was expecting the explanation to be from Louisa but then Carin was speaking up and explaining to her what happened. Huh. A food fight? Vashti always (secretly) wanted to have a food fight but never actually had. Not at school anyway because, well, obviously they'd lose points. Though, thinking about the situation, they were at least lucky they'd been caught by Professor Kingsley and not someone like, say, Professor Lafay. Oh Merlin, she didn't even want to imagine how that could've turned out. Oi.
"Oh," she finally said after taking a deep breath, as she figured Carin was probably waiting for a reply. "Well, it'll be okay. I mean, at least it was only ten points and not a hundred like Slytherin lost last term. We can still win the House Cup." She emphasized that with a firm nod. Because they were SO going to win this term. They couldn't win the Quidditch Cup (*pout*) but they still had the other Cup to win. "So don't worry about it," she added with a small smile.
It was then that Vashti suddenly noticed Carin's little kitty as well and couldn't help but "AWW!" again. Cats were just soooo cute! She couldn't help it!
She nodded in answer to Louisa's question. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are. I think they're usually more active at night too. They sleep mostly during the day," she said. At least, that was what she remembered from a book she'd read.

"I thought he hated me, but he's just... Astor. He got used to me and barely ever scratches me anymore, if at all."
Louisa felt relaxed when Vashti and Carin talked to her about cats. So her cat wasn't that annoying and stubborn. Nice sign! she couldn't tell what's wrong with Kitty. Urgh!

Kitty started to walk around Astor slowly digesting his figure and 'caressing' it. She started to 'play' with him too, bumping her head at his gently and licking some of his black fur. Louisa almost gasped, "WHAT?" She shouted before glancing around, she didn't want attention. That wasn't supposed to be a friends' meeting or something. When she asked if her housemates always fought, she couldn't help but turn her head slightly, listening to the commotion, and gave a small laugh, "Only the younger ones...usually." Yeah. Ravenclaws got a little rowdy sometimes... once in a while...okay, maybe more than that--but they weren't all like that! "But, for the most part, we're all...uhm...We're all pretty close." Well. She couldn't exactly speak for herself--not many Ravenclaws actually spoke to her--but none were rude to her. So. Yeah.
"Well, Miss Miroslav, have you enjoyed your time here, so far?", she inquired politely. She had also been working on her social graces this summer. Needless to say, she was impressed with herself for getting this far.

Vashti watched silently as the two cats interacted though she wasn't really seeing them. Her mind was off trying to figure out how many points Ravenclaw was going to lose and how much homework she'd have to do to try and get all those points back and more. Of course, she wouldn't be alone in this. Many others would be working hard and bringing their points up as well. But the other houses had a lead now and would have their own students working to keep it. Ugghhh. This was turning out to be a really stressful year...

Ellie threw herself onto the armchair.
"I hate not knowing!" Wow. Okay, so she was a nosy little girl, wasn't she? "Miles would know, though, right? He's not going to do anything to them?" No, he wouldn't. She reeeeaaally wanted to think that. But... she had just felt he was more likely to tell Professor V. She didn't really know the prefect, after all. No telling what he was going to do.
Instead of waiting for Vashti to reply, though, she got up and headed for the dorms. "I'm just going to go to bed. I'll see you tomorrow?" She glared at the sighing firstie. Then walked right upstairs.

Pamphylia stared down at the fire. It had been a while since the boys had returned. She didn't really know why she had included herself into this situation, it wasn't hers to mess with, but she guessed it was her 'helping instinct'. She remembered when her mom had told her that whenever someone was hurt, the first thing she'd do was offere help. She sighed, a little more loudly than she intended.
I've involved myself, and now I'm not turning back. she decided confidently.
