The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

"Are they Bertie Bott's?" Vashti asked. She both was and was not a fan of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. Ellie walked into the common room scowling. She was clearly, still upset about not having quidditch. All she had to look forward to now, was the Tourny. And she couldn't even be a part of that! No tryouts, no practices, no games... No cup. And she had sooo wanted to win that cup. They were soo close last term, surely this would be the one. And mostly, she was sad for Nia. Poor Nia's last year, and they didn't even have the option to win the cup. It was aggrivating.
But when she had entered, her frown lessened a bit. She wasn't smiling exactly, just not quite as horrid looking. It was like, seeing all the blue and the familiar furnature and the Diadum, gave her a warm feeling. Like the common room had some sort of magic to it that made you feel comfortable and relaxed. And she had missed it.
Still, she wasn't the happiest. So she threw herself onto a chair by the fire, and studied the floor.

"Pam!" Liz realized that she wasn't alone; she was isolating herself, "It's beautiful! I can't believe I'm actually here! I haven't left this room yet, though. Wanna go explore?"
Images of she and her best friend exploring the field behind her house flooded her mind.
"OMG yes! We must go exploring!!!!!!!!" She started bouncing up and down in excitment. She was so happy.
Sandra had thoughts about how his school looked, but none of them involved his school being a palace. And she thought this castle was over the top. It would explain why he said Hogwarts could do with more lighting. She didn't know why a school would need so much lighting unless they were studying. Noel seemed smart though, so maybe they had more places to study than this school had. "Your school sounds nice." Her eyes where on his hair as his hand moved through it. He had good hair, could give Nik a run for his galleons.
Her turn to discribe her school. She pondered how to explain the castle without giving away too much information. "Durmstrang is a castle as vell, smaller than Hogvarts. Are grounds are very extensive, though I haven't been around Hogvarts grounds so I cannot say how it compares." She mused. Maybe she would take a trip around them tomorrow with Danika. "It is a beautful castle." She smiled softly, almost wishing she was back at the castle, but glad she was here with Noel.
Leaning back in the chair again, though keeping rapt attention to what Sandra was saying. He had smiled and nodded when she mentioned that his school sounded nice, though now he was trying to imagine what her school was like. A, smaller and darker version of Hogwarts, since it was really the only 'school castle' he'd seen and she did mention they had less lighting, and...big grounds. It was not much to go by, but her tone and expression said it all. It must have been very nice. "It sounds très beau." he said, almost as if he was trailing off at the end.
Hehe, was it the school he was talking about? Or was his attention suddenly too much on her, that...his sentence had a different meaning entirely?
It probably did not matter to her though, seeing as they were talking about schools and not themselves. Which was a shame. He wanted to know more. "So, mademoiselle, what do you like to do for fun? Do you like quidditch?" Erm, yes, he asked about quidditch. Of course. Why wouldn't he?

Kellen looked over at the new voice, a friendly smile on his face, "Pretty well, and yourself?" It was always nice to see another male face in Ravenclaw. He knew that the sorting hat was supposed to divide boys and girls evenly amongst the houses, just... the rest of his dorm must wear invisibility cloaks or something, "I'm Kellen, and this is Keltan. Our names are pretty similiar, so we call each other Keys and Kazoo." Keltan could explain that one, if he wanted.

Ethan glanced around the common room for a moment to gauge his surroundings. The decor was pretty cool, he had to admit. He could certainly get used to blue and bronze. Looking around at his fellow housemates, the fifteen year old tried to catch a glimpse of Dozer. He hadn't seen his step-brother at the feast after they were both sorted, and he didn't see his face among those in this room either. Where had he gotten off to?
Figuring he'd catch up with him eventually, Ethan looked around for a place to sit before he went up to the boys dorm. Might as well get to know some of the people he'd be living with the next few years. There seemed to be an abundance of little girls, reminding him of the train ride here - he had somehow gotten seated between a group of giggling little ones while he did his best to sleep during the journey to try to block out the hyperness.
Finally he saw a couple boys about his age, so he made his way over to them. Lowering himself onto the squashy near them, Ethan stretched out his legs in front of him and gave the two boys an acknowledging nod. "Hey, how's it going?"

That would probably be a good idea to get, too, even though he'd never driven a car or anything of that sort in his life. Apparating was more his style.
At the newcomer, Kel turned slightly and gave him a nod. "It's going good. How are you?" He sort of went out of the conversation for a second, while Kazoo introduced himself and Kel. "He's Kazoo, and I'm Keys. A seveth year." he added to Ethan. "So where did you transfer from?" he asked the boy curiously.

The door to the common room opened, revealing a tall, slim, pale girl, with short, brown-reddish feathery hair. She was wearing knee-high converse boots over gray skinny jeans and a white shirt under a gray button-up shirt--not buttoned up--and her Ravenclaw tie. But the most conspicuous things about this girl were what was on her face and in her hand. Covering her eyes were a pair of black, round sunglasses, and in her right hand was a long, white cane with a red tip.
Slung over her shoulder was Ari's beige shoulder bag. But in her left hand, was a huge black cello case. She stood in the doorway for a moment, before carefully heading through the common room, to her usual spot on the sofa. Eight steps to the table, turn right, three steps to the armchair, two steps to the sofa. Simple as pi.
She shrugged her shoulder bag onto the sofa beside her, setting the case on the floor, and collapsed her cane, sliding it into her pocket. She sighed, running a hand through her short hair.

Sulking he heads over to the couches not seeing Anya still, he wondered if she switched schools. There was no dealing with that no more he decided. If she didn't want to talk to him, then FINE.
Man he was in a bad mood. Out of the corner of his eye he sees red hair. His eyes softening he would recognize that person anywhere. "Hi, Ellie" he says taking a seat in the chair next to her. Sitting ridged though, he wasn't relaxed yet. He'd been so excited for term to start and now...
Coming back down to the common room he was still mad about the quidditch thing. He'd finally finished tossing his things where they were going to go by his bed. Looking around he sees the firstie's still there, he hadn't scared them away, it seemed.
Sulking he heads over to the couches not seeing Anya still, he wondered if she switched schools. There was no dealing with that no more he decided. If she didn't want to talk to him, then FINE.

"Sorry." she quickly apologized. "I've just never seen you mad." Or pictured it. He was always upset or scared, really. Anger and frustration is a completely different side. Opposite, almost. So, the pure fact that JD was capable of angry, amused her. Yeah, that was terrible.
She shook her head as well. "I know what you mean. I don't see how they can't have both. I mean, there are only a few matches a term. There's no way it would interfere with the Tournament." It didn't make much sense.

"Maybe he'll open up the pitch more often for practice. It's the least he could do." And it sounded fair to her.

Okay. Ellie was taken aback by this girl, just jumping in while they were having a conversation like that. And by her comment. Mostly the comment, though. And you could tell that she was... well... taken aback, too. Her face showed it. Yet, she blushed all the same. And that memory she had pushed out during the summer, came back crystal clear.
She gave JD a LOOK. A look that most definitely said, 'whyyyy is she saying this'. And sort of said, 'what did you do'.
She nodded. He didn't say anything. Right. She believed him, though. He was honest enough.
"Hi..." she addressed the girl.

A thirteen-year-old first year? That...didn't make much sense to Vashti, but...well, she supposed it wasn't really her business to decide. If the girl hadn't gotten her letter until this year, whatever the reason, that was that. "Oh. Well, yeah, first year is pretty fun," she agreed. Vashti giggled a little at first before noticing the way Louisa said it, and her smile faltered. "Is...there something wrong with that?" she asked, both curious and concerned. Did she not like third years? Had Vashti said or done something wrong? She didn't think she had, but maybe... She did sometimes speak without thinking.
And then Louisa was kind of changing the subject - though not really - and she didn't seem as upset as a second ago. Um? "Yeah, it is," she answered with a nod. "Though this year seems like it'll be a lot different than before." And hopefully it would turn out to be a good different. The end of her summer and the feast seemed to suggest otherwise, but Vashti was going to remain optimistic.
Louisa smiled when Vashiti giggled, the girl seemed to feel there was something 'fishy' to Louisa. Heehee. Not really. "Nothing's wrong." She started, "Not if you count that I made a furry girl at my first hour at Hogwarts, and had met a teacher for the first time just so he could give me a lecture about spells and I was being mocked for using a muggle-paper and muggle-pen." Her eyes were hanging far away counting. Yeah, those should do it. She grinned back up at Vashti. Louisa wasn't really complaining but... well, fine it was complaining! And it's fine to someone who's just been to school. And not any school... Hogwarts. Heh.

Okay. Ellie was taken aback by this girl, just jumping in while they were having a conversation like that. And by her comment. Mostly the comment, though. And you could tell that she was... well... taken aback, too. Her face showed it. Yet, she blushed all the same. And that memory she had pushed out during the summer, came back crystal clear.
She gave JD a LOOK. A look that most definitely said, 'whyyyy is she saying this'. And sort of said, 'what did you do'.
She nodded. He didn't say anything. Right. She believed him, though. He was honest enough.
"Hi..." she addressed the girl.
"hi i'm august i'm a new friend of JDs.i promise just friends,oh we went shopping togeather in daigon ally back in the summer.I just asked if he knew my name that is all.i've took my chances being a first,talking to a fouth year.

Favorite Muggle food? Well Merlin, that was hard. Vashti loved ALL kinds of food. "Muggle...candy, I guess," she finally said. Yeah, definitely the candy. It was soooo yummy and it didn't need magic for that. She nodded at August's next comment. "Good for you." This was certainly a first - she'd never met anyone who liked the gross flavors before.

"Don't worry about using Muggle pens and paper," she added. "I've used it a couple times before while I was here, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Honestly, sometimes pens and pencils are way more useful than quills." You didn't have to constantly dip them in ink to write a few words, for instance. That sort of thing got pretty annoying pretty fast.

Nodding he looks a little happier, "I wouldn't think he would make us wait a whole nother year." he comments nodding. "'specially if he wants te get de quidditch cup next term"
Sighing with relief, he's glad Ellie wasn't upset. I mean he hadn't told August that she was his girlfriend. He wouldn't mind it but still... Oi, what a way to embarrass yourself in front of the girl you like. Eep!
Nodding, he now remembers who she was. "Sorry August, I forgot that's right...We met at the cafe, and I had a rock in me shoe." he adds with a laugh. "Not at all, yer just fine, I'm glad we finally met. I see yer in Ravenclaw, dat's awesome!"
