Rex uses the spell " Protego" The shaving cream just misses him and his horse. " I like thix class" Rex told Professor carlton. The professor looks so cute when she is messing us up with her Chrms lasson. Rex knows it is just to help us in class. |
Post #2 Shaving cream...feathers...wind! Not just any wind, but gusts of winds. Edmond guessed that this is how a tree might feel during a blizzards. It was awful. He felt that this was more like a punishment rather than a Charms activity. Casting the Protego charm he held on to the roap attached to Taco (his horse) and tried to concentrate on his path, the beginning of his second lap. "Come on Taco... don't fail me." Ed said, as the horse moved to a different direction due to the wind. He hadn't even noticed that he said his 'horse's' name out loud. |
REALLY late start. Let's see if I can manage it. Post #1. As he waited for the instructions, Jimbo petted the mane of his horse. But someone started to look at him weird so he stopped immediately. Listening to the instructions carefully, Jimbo grinned. This was going to be fun. Dropping his horse on the ground, Jimbo took out his wand once more and pointed it at the horse. "Wingardium Leviosa!" The horse went up and hovered above the ground. "Fixate!" It stopped. Putting his leg over the thing, he pointed his wand to it again. "Locomotor Stick Horse Thing!" Tee hee. It worked. He was moving over the ground, his feet barely grazing the grass. Pocketing his wand, he led the horse with the reigns as he rode along happily. But that didn't last for too long because suddenly some very ANNOYING music came on. And it wouldn't stop. It just went on. And on. And on. Practically twitching, Jimbo tried not to let it get to him too much. Otherwise he'd fail at this race. And he needed to...not fail. Failing is bad. Well, in charms class it is. For him anyway. He managed to keep his horse going at the same pace as before. Ha. No annoying music would defeat him. Professor Carlton would have to come up with something better. |
Rex then said Protego to the feather. " Of course the feather hit him first, but it tickled. " Boy, we really need to kbow our spells, right?' Rex asked Professor Carlton. |
Post #2 You have GOT to be kidding me. Balloons and SHAVING CREAM? Oh my gosh. When he said that she'd have to do better, he didn't really mean it as a challenge...well, he DID, but he didn't want her to follow through. DARN. This was going to be super difficult! No fair! And then there were LOTS of them. Oh. My. Gosh. He tried to ride through it quickly, but it was just his luck that one of them exploded right in his face. Spluttering, he quickly wiped the shaving cream out of his face with his sleeve, but he had fallen behind a bit. Panicking, he tried to rush again, but there were more and more balloons popping right in his face and soon enough he was absolutely COVERED in shaving cream. The. Worst. Thing. Ever. He could barely see anything, but he could hear Professor Carlton reminding them of their wands. Right! Wiping the shaving cream out of his eyes, he fumbled in his pockets for his wand and almost dropped that darn wooden stick because of the slippery shaving cream. Pointing it at the balloons he said, "Locomotor Balloons." Using his wand, he guided them all behind him, where they popped in the faces of the others. Muahaha. What an evil boy he was indeed. With that, he managed to finish up his second round. |
SPOILER!!: feathers Branwen finally was getting away from all of the balloons and she was starting on her third lap. About half way through she felt something tickle her nose, and of course she looked up to see what it was a got a face full of feathers. She then looked around and saw that her entire body was covered in green feathers. “Really!” she yelled. She quickly began going through all of the spells that she had learned and finally something came to her. First she pointed her wand at herself and said “Scourgify . She thought that if she was clean the feathers would no longer stick to her and she could concentrate on finishing this race. |
SPOILER!!: Challenge One! o.o.c haha dodgey paint job ahead! Patroclus arrived at the pitch, and was overjoyed to see the course that Professor Carlton had created, this lesson was getting better and better. With his red hobby horse under his arm, Patroclus removed it and laid it on the ground, whilst removing his wand from his boot. "Wingardium Levisoa! Fixate!" The boy decreed, once the horse was at the perfect levitating level. With a bit of a run up, Patroclus mounted his Horse and prepared to race, "Locomotor Hobby Horse!" the spells effect was instanteous, with the movement of his wand, Patroclus was able to guide the horse through the air, "This is Awesome!" he cried, gliding into place. Racing around the tracks, Patroclus couldn't help, but laugh at the hovering figure that was Professor Carlton, however his laughter was silenced by an exploding balloon. An exploding Balloon that was full of Shave Cream, with a swifty movement of his wand, Patroclus and NeighNeigh were lucky enough to dodge the airborne cream, "Gross!" he smiled. Weaving and dodging between tickingtimebomb Balloons, Patroclus was having the time of his life! |
Post #3 and Jimbo is gonna looove what comes after that challenge mwahaha!!! SPOILER!!: oh Jimbo... "PPPbbbbpppffppff!" Salander tried to spit out whatever shaving cream got into his mouth "Nasty!" he grumbled as he hurriedly wiped what he can of the shaving cream off his face with the back of his wand hand. Just as he done so, another balloon popped on his shoulder. And another. And another. What?!?!? he whined as he wondered why these balloons seems to be headed all for him, and then he realized... .... he was right behind Jimbo's tail. If stick horses had a tail. This time he's gonna play smart with this "Protego!" He cast the charm over himself, shielding him from any other popping balloons Jimbo was flicking aside. He ambled right alongside the lad and said "Hah! Thought you're gonna get me are ya? Well eat dust Bird Boy!" he cackled as he cast a strong "Locomotor Geronimoooo!" on his horse and pulled ahead of Jimbo.... SPOILER!!: Professor Poppins' 2nd challenge ..... and flew straight into a curtain of feathers. Eh. Who's the Bird Boy now? |
Post Two! SPOILER!!: Challenge Two Patroclus and NeighNeigh were getting on famously! "Faster, Faster NeighNeigh," he cried, swishing his wand, resulting in the horse zipping along the track. The two of them had dogded most of the balloons of shaving cream, however Carlton was not done with her tricks yet. Falling from the sky were what seemed to be a hundred dead birds........no, it was just their feathers. Patroclus was momentarily distracted by the feather that he didn't seen the rain of cream he was flying into. "Yuck!" he cried as he was got cream on his jeans. Now it made sense, Carlton wanted them to look like chickens, "Scourgify" he muttered quickly so the feather's had nothing to stick too! "You will have to try harder than that," he called to the hoverin Porfessor! |
Post #3 Edmond could feel the shaving cream drying on his hair, eyebrows and cheeks. This was not cool in any form. His shielding spell was protecting him from the wind, but it wasn't enough. The force of it was just too strong for his simple shield. The problem was that he wasn't too keen on casting stronger spells because he wasn't proficient enough to do them. The last thing Ed wanted was to fall of Taco. As he entered his third lap, Edmond braced himself for another round of gusty winds. |
SPOILER!!: A Mighty Wind Finally, Branwen could see the finish line. She was almost there when suddenly a strong wind started blowing into her face. She was having trouble holding on to her broom and keep it from flipping over. Just when she was about to fall off she remembered what she had learned in DADA class. She pulled out her wand and said “Protego”. Suddenly there was a shield in front of her and she was able to cross the finish line with out falling. “Yay!” |
As Emmy flew towards the finish line, covered in shaving cream, she noticed something sticking to her face - a feather! Looking up, she saw a fluffy cloud descending on the students. "Flippin' 'eck... Protego!" her hastily cast shield charm kept the feathers off, but the shaving cream was beginning to feel distinctly uncomfortable. Since it was obvious she wasn't going to win, she slowed down, tentatively removed her wand hand from her broom, turned it on herself, and muttered "Tergeo!" Hah! Annoying, sticky, horrible shaving cream - GONE! Then the smile froze on her face, as she looked ahead of her. |
SPOILER!!: Challenge Three Patroclus and NeighNeigh had navigated the exploding balloons, and the shower's of feather, and the end was in sight. That was until the wind came. Patroclus had noticed some leaves moving quite quickly in his direction, but the boy had passed it off as escaped critters from CoMC. However he could not have been more wrong. It was a great-almighty wind storm. And it hit the boy and his Horse with force. Patroclus and NeighNeigh were tossed wildly into the air, like a autumn leaf caught in an updraught! Clinging on for dear life, Patroclus was not let NieghNeigh out of his sight, he was defenceless hobby horse afterall. To his side, Patroclus saw a mini-tornado forming, it was full of shaving cream and feathers, it seemed Carlton wa out for revenege! With a flick of his wand, Patroclus cired "Protego!" and watched as the creamyfeathers bounced away. However the jab of his wnad, had also caused teh horse to spiral in the wind, Patroclus had forgot his wand was what stilled the horse. Patroclus instantly had a brain-blast! "Incarcerous!" the boy cried, a coil of rope jetting from his wand tip. In ture Cowoy style Patroclus lassooed the rope around one of the lane dividers, tieing himself and NeighNeigh to the pole, he wasn't going anywhere. For now the boy and his horse would wait out the storm, flapping like a kite in the wind |
SPOILER!!: Vashti Still zooming with nearly full costume of feathers now, Louisa had her face and eyes clear of those white things and that was an achievement. Why wasn't she getting any more feathers falling on her? Maybe they couldn't find another place of her body to stick on… Or.. The Professor has stopped them and conjured a wind to try to get things yet more Now with both hands hugging the stick-horse tightly she zoomed away to find Vashti's back right in front of her. "VASHTI!" She called over the wind which made her movement slower. |
Post one (REALLY late start, but as I've VMed Anna . . .) Grayson's heart really wasn't into Charms class right now. But she was hoping if she continued participating, that would get her that much closer to getting Draco back. Like it was leverage or something. Continue class, then she'd get her nice ferret back. Her beloved pet and companion. The wooden horse wasn't anywhere close to a substitute, especially since she couldn't keep it. But she named the faux-palomino anyway. Lily. At least it continued her Harry Potter bent. She still wasn't as enthusiastic about this class as she'd been when it had started. Nodding silently as they were given instructions for the race, her green eyes still wide and showing her utter concern over her ferret, she quietly pointed her wand with a swish and flick at Lily. "Wingardium Leviosa." As the horse started raising off the ground, she pointed her wand again. "Fixate," she said just as quietly, stopping the toy's ascent at a couple feet off the ground. Now she was without Draco and basically flying. Fun. Not really. She didn't like flying. Climbing onto Lily, she pointed her wand one last time. "Locomotor wooden horse." She just had to get through this. Then she hopefully would get Draco back and everything would be all better. Either that or she definitely wouldn't be trusting Professor Carlton for a while. But for now she just had to concentrate on guiding her mount as it started moving around the track. |
Nervously, Emmy watched as the tornado of feathers, shaving cream and leaves drew nearer and nearer. I need to tether it somehow - but what with? And what can I tie it to?!?! she thought, looking around desperately, I'm not gonna be able to fly through that! Finally, inspiration dawned - the fence at the edge of the racetrack! That had upright posts, she could tie GeeGee to one of those! She flew over to one of the posts, and pointed her wand first at GeeGee, then at the post. "Incarcerous!" She watched as ropes twisted themselves around the two wooden poles, knotting themselves inextricably together. Pulling her cloak around her shoulders, Emmy hunkered down on her steed, and waited for the storm to pass. |
Post #4 SPOILER!!: a Mighty Wind "Phuhtooey!" Out flew a tuft that lodged themselves into his mouth when Salander breezed right into a curtain of feathers. That was the second time something managed land into his mouth that wasnt food. "Maybe I should've checked that box for a hockey mask." he grumbled. Looking little more than a giant cockatoo with his PINK!Chieftain headdress forming the plume, Salander urged his wooden steed to keep going "Locomotor Geronimo!" he tapped its stuffed head again, and began to pick up speed. He eyed the finish line Almost there! he thought eagerly when from out of nowhere, a gale force wind knocked him back.... .... as he and his wooden steed slammed against the racetrack fence. |
Post two As she got started, Grayson glanced up to see Professor Carlton floating over the course by way of an umbrella, like Mary Poppins. Since of course she was familiar with the Muggle story, even if she didn't find it half as interesting as wizarding tales. None of that mattered, though, as she was basically moving on autopilot, both because of her worry over her pet and because of her dislike of flying. Although she'd had the fleeting thought of turning around and sneaking back to the classroom to see if Draco was still there. As far as she could tell the professor didn't have him with her. But she forced herself to continue with the course. Ignoring the music blaring, although usually the song would have gotten a grin out of her. Not right now. Continuing forward on Lily, she saw a mass of balloons ahead, as well as some drying clumps of cream on the ground. No way she was heading straight into that. Pulling one side of her "horse's" reins, she blinked as it followed her orders and swerved to one side. Continuing to guide Lily, she made a wide loop around the balloons, feeling a bit happier once she'd gotten past them and saw people covered in the cream. At least she wasn't dealing with that on top of everything else. Now to just keep going. |
Heather post 1 (a little late...but catching up! ^_^) SPOILER!!: challenge one "okay! i can do this!" heather told herself as she prepared to do what was instructed by the professor. she pointed her wand at the horse, she named 'mixie'. "wingardium leviosa!" she said and the wooden horse levitated. next, the other spell. "Fixate!" and was happy to see that the object was in place. lastly, the last spell, but just to be safe, she mounted the horse and said "locomotor Mixie!" she said and the horse went-so unexpectedly fast. Heather tried to hang on. she sighed. 'i have to keep mental note to gain not just height but also weight." she told herself. SPOILER!!: challenge 2 Huh? what?where? how? why? oh heather. it's just music. focus on the track! SPOILER!!: challenge 3 wh-whut? oh wow! balloons!...wait...popped...SHAVING CREAM?? It looks tempting to be hit by ballons and get shaving cream all over, but then again, it would be a mess. what? get messy or stay clean? stay clean then. what was that spell? oh right...that one... "Protego!" she said and was able to block the shaving cream and a hell of a mess from her. |
Marie and Evelyn, ROTFL Quote:
The stick pony had other ideas. Apparently mispronouncing his incantation as 'wingardium lemmingosa' had done something weird to the spell, and the horse began acting... well, like a lemming! It began to follow every last move of Marie's flight path as though the pony was chasing hers. Combined with the bucking and jerking, Eli's stick pony (and Eli himself) kept nudging into her and bumping her again and again. Bump! Crash! Bam! It was out of control! The head of Eli's pony knocked into her, then zoomed forward a little and slammed him into her right side. Greaaaat. She was going to kill him. Quote:
Quote:
"Ugh!" he cried out, letting the reins of his stick-pony go with one hand to wipe the foam from his face with his sleeve. "You did that on PURPOSE, you--" The insult was lost as he ran headlong into a flurry of feathers. They got into his mouth and he spat them out, disgusted by the flavor of feather and foam. BAM! He crashed into Marie again, this time right into her backside. Dead boy. He was a dead boy. |
Post #3 SPOILER!!: O________o He was challenged. Right then, the boy had just challenged him. Oh, the NERVE. And the Bird Boy thing. Scowling, Jimbo cast the same spell on his stick horse and tried to catch up with Salander. He watched as a bunch of feathers fell and stuck to him. Glancing up, Jimbo noticed Professor Carlton was dropping the feathers. Oh, that is EEVVILLL. But he couldn't stop his stick horse fast enough and managed to follow right behind Salander and turned into a big feathery thing. A bird. Again. Why must this happen? Taking one look at Salander FREAKED HIM OUT. He totally looked like an overgrown mutant bird. Those were the worst. Screaming, Jimbo took his stick horse faster and AWAY from him, finishing his third round in a feathery, shrieking state. |
playing MAJOR catchup because I was out of town... SPOILER!!: intructions Kurumi mounted her sparkly purple 'horse' and felt like the professor may have overdone it. Kurumi looked like a giant purple grape that had been attacked by glitter. Swallowing hard, Kurumi took out her wand and with her most fluid swish and flick yet, said "Wingardium Leviosa" with confidence as her horse rose in the air. When it was only about a foot in the air, she said, "Fixate!" and the horse froze in place. She played with her side pony-tail for a moment as she chose a name for her horse. "Locomotor MURASAKI!" She smiled as her horse began to move forward. She jumped onto it and took off her cowboy hat and waved it above her head. This was going to be better than Defense Against the Dark Arts maybe. SPOILER!!: music! Kurumi started to sing along to the music. Her father had played it every once in a while and was one of the few times she had seen her mother loosen up and dance in the house as she did some swing dance with Kurumi's father. SPOILER!!: balloons! Kurumi had been enjoying riding on her floating horse and singing along to the music when all of a sudden she heard a loud POP! and felt something cold plop on top of her head. Instinctively, she reached up and felt something fluffy and wet. She put her hand in front of her face and saw something white and smelled strangely familiar. "Is this...shaving cream?" she giggled remembering the smell coming from the bathroom every morning her father shaved. There were balloons every where and it was only after one more exploded in her face did she realize she probably needed to either avoid them by flying in a different direction or use magic to protect herself. She opted for the magical option "Protego!" she yelled and thanked potions class for teaching her that one. SPOILER!!: feathers! Kurumi found herself unable to see for a brief moment and when she had some visibility again, she was coughing up feathers and found that she looked like a multi-colored version of the canary she had turned into with Heather when they had eaten Canary Creams at the beginning of the term. "Scourgify," she said pointing her wand at herself to remove the shaving cream and feathers. At least now they wouldn't stick to her, but she found herself giggling as she continued to glide through the air like the sparkly purple grape she was. "Come on Murasaki, faster!" She laughed as her horse listened and shot forward a few feet. SPOILER!!: wind! Aw, the feathers were gone and that meant no more giggling for Kurumi. She frowned slightly as a sudden gust of wind blew against her face and caused her pony-tail to come undone. "Wha------," she tried to speak but found it almost too difficult to do. Murasaki tried to continue moving forward, but soon came to a stand still and started moving backwards. Oh no no no! Kurumi took out her wand and said the first spell that came to her mind, "Engorgio!" and Murasaki began to grow and grow until she was large enough that the wind seemed to have little affect on it and it started slowly inching forward again. Kurumi, now hanging onto the reins for dear life, looked down at the ground and began to regret her decision. "Just until the wind dies down," she promised herself as her feet dangled. |
yikes...... slow on replying. Post #2 Oh crap. This was NOT good! Wind!!! How was she goign to get out of this one?? She pulled herself lower to the track, trying to get past the wind. She clung onto her horse, and buried her face in it. She was still going, and was discouraged she didn't know any spells to stop this horrifying wind. |
Alice was pleased with herself for the most part being able to avoid the shaving cream and feather scenario....that is until a huge gust of wind hit her so hard Alice had to use both hands to prevent completely flying of the back of her horse. Naturally Alice's protection shield went down, causing her to crash into a balloon that had not popped yet, covering her in shaving cream, some of which went into her mouth. Yummy. Alice was having a hard time figuring out how she was going to get through this wind. At least the shaving cream and feathers (since they had flocked to her like a bug on a light) could provide a little bit of additional weight. Alice was in the process of trying to recast protego, hoping the shield could provide some protection from the wind when she got hit by a second gust, sending her slamming into the fence. Ouch. |
Heather post 2 SPOILER!!: challenge 4 Heather looked up at the students in front of her be attacked by-FEATHERS! forget moving faster! time to protect herself! she wouldn't want to get shaving cream and feathers on her! she moved ever so slowly, avoiding what she calls 'traps'. move to the left, "protego!" move to ther ight, "protego!" left"protego! right "protego" and it gets tiring...alas, she wasn't able to avoid some feathers that ran down her back and tickled her. she tried to get it off and was successful at it, and then some shaving cream made it into her right arm, when she did not notice a balloon burst near her. "oh well...it's just shaving cream..."she told herself and tried to brush it off before some feathers cling to it. now, what was that spell again to clean this up? "scourgify" she said and the mess disappeared. "great, heather, why didn't you think of this before?" she told herself but she had a smile on her face. "protego!" she said once more, casting a shield to protect herself. "come on mixie! we can do this!" she said happily. SPOILER!!: challenge 5 and then, a gush of wind! if heather hadn't been quick, she would have lost balance and ended falling or be carried away by the wind. she was such a small lightweight person; a gush of wind could carry her so easily! Mixie pushed forward, determined not to let heather down, but heather's spirits were dampened now. she had no clue how to get pass the wind. "protego!" she said, but even if she had a shield, the wind could still push her back. SPOILER!!: kurumi! heather watched kurumi use the engorgio spell. it was a pretty smart move though, since the weight of the wooden horse makes it partially impossible for the wind to take it away. Heather looked at her horse. "hey mixie...we can do this, right?" she said and the horse tried to move forward once more as heather held out her wand. "PROTEGO!!" she shouted, just in case it made her shield a little stronger. |
