This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and most recently, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just a few weeks ago.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable feeling. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. It is piled rather high with various papers and worksheets, which is quite startling for a new professor and start-of-term. There are also two framed photographs sitting on her desk; one was of Josephina posed with her two sisters and the other was of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her two-year old puppy named Baisley. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me.
Rubiey was wary about Arithmancy; she had aways had trouble with maths at Muggle School, but Rubiey had decided to take every lesson and meet every Professor before chosing whether or not to continue. She knocked on the door three times, then stood back from the door, waiting for Professor Hadley's permission to enter.
Sapphinelle approached the door, knocking twice to ensure that her knocks were heard. She was excited for Arithmancy, it seemed fun and challenging, and she always loved a challenge. She smiled to Rubiey, she was seeing her around a lot of the Professor's classrooms.

Josephina was always amused by how polite the students were that they had to knock despite the open door. Glancing up from her notepad, where she'd been scribbling down notes for her first lesson, she smiled warmly at the two young students at the door. First or second years, no doubt.
"Come in please. Take a seat and help yourself to some peppermint candies if you want," Fina said kindly. "What can I do for you two girls today?"

Brushing his hair out of his eyes like usual Legend swaggered along the halls, he really had nothing to do at the moment, classes hadn't started yet and his friends were all over the place. As he passed an open door with students waiting in front of it he paused and walked up to it.
Oh. So it was Hadley's office eh? Brushing past the other students he lazily knocked on the door.

Leilani poked her head inside the open doorway, smiling at her teacher. "Hello Proffesor Hadley. May I come in?" She seemed to be doing better than she was at the feast. Good. She couldn't get sick, no, Lani wouldn't allow it. She liked her too much.
She had been extreamly excited to come see her favorite Proffesor. Hehe, yes faaaaaaavorite. Psh. Numbers were awesome. And yes, I did just say faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite, deal with it.
"What in the world are you doing here?" Kaitlynnh's voice was only slightly accusing, a suspicious look in her dark eyes as they fell on Mister Legend Chosen, standing outside the Arithmancy Professor's office. She knew why she was here, but HIM? What good intention would Legend have for visiting Hadley?
Brushing off the fact the Gryffindor was indeed also waiting to see the Professor, for reasons she wasn't sure she wanted to know, Katie offered the other girl in Slytherin robes a polite smile as a way of greeting before moving past Legend to reach the open door as well. Since he had already knocked, she simply waited.

More students! YAY! These weren't new ones either, Josephina recognized them from last term. Smiling warmly at them as well - cause she was an equal opportunity professor - she nodded. "Of course, Leilani. Legend. Make yourselves comfortable." She encouraged, gesturing to the candies and conjuring two more chairs with a simple wand flick.

Turning her gaze back toward the door, she noted another familiar face behind the Gryffindor and Slytherin. An a rather high attitude in her tone toward her peer!
"Miss Mae!" Josephina exclaimed, eyes wide open in shock. "Please. Be nice to your fellow students; they have much right to be here as you. If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it all. That will be five points from Hufflepuff for your attitude." She said with a stern nod. She can be nice and welcoming, but also defensive for her colleagues and students.

"Hello, Professor. I'm Rubiey O'Rielly, Gryffindor First Year. I just wanted to come by and say how excited I am about your lesson. I'm sure it will be fascinating." She smiled. Yeah, it would fascinating, but also very hard; she knew that, and would be foolish to think it anything else.

Leilani grinned brightly and entered the office, taking her seat. She'd never been inside Proffesor Hadley's office. It was quite nice. Especially the painting of... Italy it looked like.
Lani crossed her left leg over her right and smiled. "Any special plans for this year Proffesor?" She asked excitedly. The class could be as boring as a stick and she'd still love it. Sticks were cool.
The fifth year pretended not to notice that Proffesor Hadley had just taken points from Hufflepuff. She also pretended not to care. So far, she was doing like, awesome. That put Slytherin just a teeny but further in front of the other houses. It was kinda funny, considering nobody'd had a chance to earn any points yet......

Before the Professor had come to the door he heard the usually annoying voice of Katie Mae. "Well....I go to this school like everyone else? And I thought it would be nice to visit a professor before classes start?" DUH. Why else would he be here. Sometimes the Mae could be so stupid. But he wasn't about to say that now.

"Hi Professor. Yeah of course." Walking into the office he turned around as he heard Hadley telling Katie off. Yes that was right. A PROFESSOR was telling KATIE MAE off. This was amazing! The best moment of his life. But he couldn't show that....
KATIE LOST POINTS FOR BEING MEAN TO HIM!?? Best. Moment. Ever.
Walking over to one of the conjured chairs he sat down with a grin on his face.

Nice to visit a professor before classes start? Who did Legend think he was fooling? Did she look five-years-old and naive to him? Nice visits with professors weren't Legend's style. Opening her mouth to say something back, she pressed her lips together before any words could slip, her dark eyes traveling from the tall figure who was beside her to Hadley, who was scolding her.
Wait.. what? "But Professor, I've known Legend practially my whole life and I didn't mean it that-" way. Okay so she kind of had meant it that way, but Hadley wouldn't understand - she didn't know Legend the way Katie did. Stopping short, the girl sighed. She was fighting a lost battle now, the five points were already gone and the woman would eventually figure out for herself what Legend was like. HMMPH!
"Yes ma'am. I wouldn't have spoken to another student that way, though, just Legend. I just hadn't expected to see him here, I do apologize for being rude." Katie said with a slight frown, not bothering with the Gryffindor boy and whatever he had said. She knew, without even glancing in his direction, he was enjoying this moment FAR too much. Katie Mae hadn't never lost a single point until this day. All thanks to the green-eyed boy. Hmmph.

Josephina nodded as the young girl introduced herself. First year, as suspected, yet very eager minded, in which delighted Fina. First years were some of the most challenging years to teach, but also the best because their minds were so young and innocent. "Lovely to meet you, Rubiey. Arithmancy should suit your taste then, as it is quite the intriguing subject. Something that your daring Gryffindor side should mesh with nicely." Considering how she dared to come here and introduce herself . . .

Oh this student thought she was being smart, eh? That she could get a headstart on her classes by finding out her plans? Fina just shook her head and smiled at the sweet and cunning Slytherin. "My dear Leilani, I cannot indulge those plans to you at this time. But the only thing I can say is that over the summer I prepped a new room just down the hall for those with a strong aptitude for Arithmancy, I believe you should find the White Jasmine Chamber very enlightening." Judging from how empty it had remained thus far, she wondered if it was too new and decided things would pick up in there once she had her first lesson.
... Either that or the students were too busy seeing who would be entering their name into the Goblet of Fire.

"Mr Chosen. Would you dare tell me why that huge grin?" she raised an eyebrow at him challengingly. Because from the look of it, he could have just passed gas for all she knew.

Oh ... it wasn't Hufflepuff and Gryffindor rivalry so much as future love. It was plain enough for Josephina Hadley to see that no matter how much Katie would try to deny it, they secretly would wind up together. They were both just far too stubborn to realize it just yet.
"I see, well of course, Miss Mae," Fina said in a truly understanding manner. Because it all made sense from her perspective now and Katie just confirmed her thoughts. By the fact that she says she wouldn't have spoken to another student that way ... Legend was the exception. Her exception. "Apology well taken." At this point, had it been any other pair of students, she would have made the person apologize to the victim too. But judging from their expressions, she gathered they weren't at that point yet. They would be though, if she had anything to do with it.

Leilani grinned brilliantly. Heh *grin* Guess she wasn't allowed to know. Though the White Jasmine Chamber sounded rather interesting. Hmm, mabey she'd go take a look in a little bit.
"So what's this White Jasmine Chamber about?" It sounded neat enough. A place to do work mabey. Like a glorified library. Hmm, come to think of it she'd never actually been in the library at Hogwarts. Lani added that to her mental list of things to do.
She switched legs and crossed the right one over her left. Her leg had been falling asleep. Bleeeeeh.

Oh. And now he was targeted. Words escaped the blond's mouth before he even had a time to think about it. He was just used to making excuses "Professor! I'm just excited to be back here again! Am I going to get detention for smiling? I just came to say hi." If Katie got him a dentention. Grr. That would NOT be cool. He hadn't even done anything.

Errh.. she saw? Was that a good thing? Katie couldn't tell. Standing there wringing her hands, the girl visibly relaxed ever so slightly when the woman accepted her apology and did not make her say she was sorry to Legend and make up with him. That was.. good? Right?
Beginning to think this visit hadn't been the best idea after all, the Hufflepuff supressed a sigh and the urge to roll her eyes as Legend blurted out what she thought to be an obviously too 'innocent' excuse. Bite your tongue, Little Mae She was NOT losing more points or getting detention over the boy.
"May I come in, Professor?" Katie asked after a moment, "I actually came to talk to you about something." Yes, and that's why the visit was a good idea. Because she needed help, and Hadley was the only professor she could go to about that now.

Popping a peppermint candy into her mouth, Fina gave a mischievous smile over at the young Slytherin. Sweet, eager-minded child. "Oh it's just a place I set up a quiet place to do some research into other areas of Arithmancy that might not be covered during your time at Hogwarts. You could also think of it as a connection chamber; a place to connect to your thoughts. Maybe do some homework or just well . . . think." She nodded at her, a bit saddened that no one has been in there yet.
She'd have to make mention of it during her first lesson. Speaking of which, where were those lesson plans? Ugh.

Snort. That's what Josephina wanted to SO!badly do, when she heard the rambling from the blond boy. Yet lady or not, she was dignified enough to know better to not snort. When she could help it. Though that was not the point, but rather it was that his rambling sounded like word vomit to her. Despite his attempts, she was not dumb enough to actually believe him.
No detention for smiling, but perhaps if you don't play nice with that fine Hufflepuff girl over there . . . she thought mentally, but scolded herself immediately. "Clearly, Mr Chosen and hello. But perhaps you should use your excitement in other ways . . . " Like giving Katie a hug? Parachuting out of Gryffindor Tower? There were other ways. "Like bringing that excitement to the first Arithmancy lesson of the year."

Speaking of Katie, why was she so hesitant to enter? Her eyes flickered over toward the fifth year hufflepuff as she seemed to be lost in translation. Or something like that. It took a moment, or maybe her getting over Legend's boatload of excuses, for her to say something.
"Of course, Miss Mae. I thought I had said that," Fina said encouragingly, even pointed toward the peppermints in a bowl. "Help yourself." And what? Someone came to talk to her about something? Likely it was an Arithmancy issues, because anything else, she had little control over in this school. "Oh ... Do you mind talking with others around or you want to set up an appointment?" Because whether she wanted to talk in private or not made a difference.

Leilani nodded, smiling. "I'll have to go check it out sometime then." She never could get anything done in the common room. People were always bugging her. And it was way noisy. Yeah, the White Jasmine Chamber was sounding better and better by the minute.
She had an urge to ask the Proffesor how her summer had been. Heh. She liked Proffesor Hadley, but honestly-- she couldn't think of anything else yo' ask her. Oh! "Do you think you could show me?" Pause. "The White Jasmine Chamber I mean."
There. Now she didn't need to ask how her summer had gone. Awesome.

Legend frowned slightly, letting his cool composure drop just a bit. "Arithmancy class seriously Professor?" Artimancy was like.... GAH. "That's all number's and letter and, you know I'm not good with that stuff at all." Actually he had no problem with it. What he DID have a problem with was doing questions for his 50 letter name. WHY did he have four middle names? Obviously it was a curse. "Wouldn't it be better if you just excused me out of the class, and just gave me the homework?" Grinning he leaned back in the chair. Yeah, he...so didn't have that idea when he came in.

Trrrr. Trrrr. Trrrrr. Spinning happily, a bright blue top made a beeline for Josephina's office - suite - thing, bouncing every now and then to avoid legs and shoes and items, until it ended up on the Professor's desk - with a rather loud thwack that caused it to crack open and reveal a note.
A note that would, if picked up and examined, read:

Fina,
I intend to re-explore the grounds today. Maybe... climb a tree. If it is no trouble, perhaps you can join me by the Giant Treehouse in five minutes in half an hour? If not, it's okay.
No, during her scolding she hadn't said that - not to Katie, atleast. Of course, she was not going to say that outloud and instead she followed after Legend into the office, taking her time to approach the desk without actually inching her way there, the Hufflepuff took a peppermint with a small smile, saying a quick, "Thanks." as she played with the wrapper a little bit.
Managing to get the candy free, she popped it into her mouth, absently folding the plastic wrapper in her hands. An appointment? Briefly glancing toward Legend and then back, Katie shook her head. The boy would dig his own grave if he made any rude remarks about what she needed help with, she wasn't worried. "I don't mind the others. Actually, I was wondering if you could help me with.. Arithmancy? I know what it is and how to complete the work," Obviously. Otherwise she wouldn't still be taking the course, not to mention Professor Shackleton-Clark had been an amazing teacher and she had learned from her as well. "But despite my calculations being perfectly on point, I'm having trouble believing what my results are on.. everything." She wasn't even slightly joking. It was every single assignment.
"And I don't understand how that could be. Is it possible that Arithmancy just doesn't work on some people?" Because if that was possible, without a doubt Katie was one of those few. "I was wondering if you had some free time this term, could you possibly.. sort of tutor me, in understanding these things? The results and explanations and stuff?"

Awesome.
Josephina nodded, twirling a loose strand of her hair haphazardly. A habit that she hadn't done in years, but for some reason, with two females in the office, it was oddly contagious.
Show her? What? "Yess.... I could..." she agreed thoughtfully, but then a better idea occurred to her. "Actually, what do you say, Miss Leilani, about helping me plan a little 'Chamber-warming' party. Like a housewarming party, but just sort of an introduction to this whole new room?" Fina looked hopefully at the girl. She doubted, if Fina knew her and she thought she did, that the Slytherin would turn down such an offer.

Of course the boy would try to wiggle his way out of class; boys were always trying to slack like that. "Doubtful . . . you seemed to fair pretty well on the couple assignments you managed to scrape up last year." She grimaced lightly at him. "You are not excused from classes and are still expected to do the homework. Nice try though." Yup.... he was a typical teenage boy indeed. "So what's the real reason for your visit? Because I know it's not introductions, since we already know each other." She eyed him scrupulously. Nope, there was NO fooling Josephina Hadley. That's what she got for having two Ravenclaw sisters.

A rather loud noise spun its way into Hadley's office and eventually stopped and cracked open to reveal a note on her desk. Hazel eyes scanning the note, she stared. Clever charm work, Josephina had to admit . . . and she'd seen A LOT of cleverness in charms being that she taught the subject down in Africa for two years.
Climb a tree? Merlin, what did Di think they were? Seventeen? No scratch that . . . twelve? She didn't climb trees even then. Scribbling a quick reply down, she folded it up and placed it in a plastic spaghetti knick-knack. With a flick of her wand, she send the noodle on its way toward the Runes professor's office.

Nodding at the Hufflepuff who gave her thanks for the candy, she watched with eager interest as the girl at first seemed to contemplate the appointment idea, but then . . . glancing toward her 'friend', seemed to decide it wasn't necessary. Popping a candy into her own mouth, Fina watched and listened and tried to comprehend.
"It's unusual for the numbers to not match . . . " Fina said thoughtfully. "I mean there might be some things that don't align perfectly, of course, but at the same time, you should have some similarities to the results. Which sometimes it takes an outsider's perspective to see that. Or sometimes, if you're too young, then the numbers are indicative more of your future life and might not be relevant at this time but will be soon." It was highly unlikely though that - at least in Fina's experience for the numbers to not have ANY similarities. "But yes, I do suppose we could work together to look at your results and try to see some common ground. As I mentioned to Leilani, there is a new room that I set up in this wing, the White Jasmine Chamber, which would serve the purpose nicely for tutoring."

Did she just ask her to... like, help her?!
OMAHGOODNESS YES YES YES YES YES YEEEEEESSSS!!! It took all of her self restraint for Leilani not to jump up and go hug her Proffesor. And even so, she twitched rather awkwardly *facepalm*
She beamed. "I would absolutely love to!" WHEEEEEE!!! Oh yes, Proffesor Hadley had just rightfully won the favorite teacher status. Ohmahgoodness this was going to be soooooo much fun!! Liek... Well honestly, she didn't know exactly how fun it would be but it would be alot of fun.
