Default Prefects' Compartment

The prefects have their own compartment. They hold a meeting every year and you can find help here if you need it. Prefects' only, please, unless you have been invited or need assistance!

Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

Nia paused outside the Prefect's Compartment, hand on the door. On the way to Hogwarts it hadn't felt right, and she had a feeling it might be similar on the way back, though for very different reasons. She sighed, and slowly stepped inside.

It was all...rather emotional in here. From the girls at least. And Brant. She seemed to be doing rather well, in comparison, though she hadn't seen her Quidditch teamies yet. And that'd probably be an entirely different matter, even if Nia wasn't generally an expressively emotional or teary person.

"Erm, hello," she said, not really sure quite what to do or say.

It was then she caught sight of Raiden talking with Oliver. At least both of them looked relatively normal, but still...would that be awkward much? Between the others' emotions, and what had gone on with her and Raiden...maybe she should turn round and sit somewhere else. But then she'd have to face saying bye to all the 'Claws. And she wanted to leave that just a litttttle bit longer.

And so she found herself quietly slipping into the seat between the Slythie guys and all the emotion. She placed her bag on the adjacent seat, and started rummaging for her book to read. Or her music. Whichever would be most distracting. Possibly both.

Cedric, who was busy gazing at nothing, eased around as someone uttered his name. Eh? It was Cammy. But what was she to say to him? He heard her say 'Cedric... You' and she just trailed off! Now that was quite, no just a bit, undignified. "I... what?" he asked, upon fixing his gaze at the graduated red-headed prefect. He could made that sound really, really blunt but chose not to since all some of his co-prefects were feeling rather bad and it would be best to say nice things instead.

He noticed the compartment had been filled up quickly; almost all the other prefects had boarded the train. And he noticed, as well, some were still somewhat tearful.

WHYSOTEARFUL?! Was it really sad when you graduated? Sad when you were about to leave your friends whom you've been with for the past seven years? He concluded he wouldn't feel that sad when he left, seeing that he barely had a friend at all. He'd had friends but they finished school way before he'd been made a prefect.

Then there came Raiden. Well, his comment on the prefects' gloomy behavior was enlightening. Cedric nodded in the Slytherin prefect's direction, and said, "You guys should just cherish the wonderful memories you all have had at Hogwarts. And those tears, I hope, are to become tears of joy rather than tears of, you know, sadness."

Hopefully the dreary atmosphere would wear off soon.

But Sarah honestly didn't care - she knew in the long run crying now would help make her feel better. Get it all out, her mum always said.

Sniffling into her robe, she didn't even notice when Cedric entered. Of course he never spoke to them, so it wasn't surprising. Oliver on the other hand, he never missed a chance to make an entrance - and it was his voice that caused her to look up, hiccuping and wiping her eyes. And while it wouldn't have surprised her to find his comments irritating, Sarah actually hiccoughed a giggle instead. Her emotions were all over the place.

As Lori moved back to her seat, and took hold of Sarah's hand, she hugged her friend tightly and momentarily buried her head in the other Puff's shoulder. "I never knew it was going to be this hard," she whispered, snorting at her friend's response to Oliver. Poor boy, he was only trying to help, even if it was in a slightly insensitive sounding way.

Looking up as the door opened once more, Sarah smiled at Raiden. What a sight they must have looked - three people all yucky from crying, one looking very fidgety and another two wrapped around each other. "We're a bit...emotional," was all Sarah could say in answer to his question. And he was calm. A little freaked looking, but calm. How did he do it?

Sarah had half an ear on the conversation between Cam and Oliver. It was sweet really, and she certainly wished it was true. How she dearly wanted to be able to hide in the castle and stay for next term. Maybe the House Elves would have let them stay in the kitchens? They were really nice things after all...The thought made her smile wistfully, more tears dripping down her face, and she only snapped out of it when she heard her name. It was Oliver. "Oh, ummm...." No, not really, was what she wanted to say, but the mood was down enough as it was. She had to try and pull herself together now - didn't she? "Yeah, I'm..." Pause "...fine." She gave him a warm smile before quickly looking out the window again. Only a couple more hours.

Sounded like it so much.

Her depressive look mellowed as Oliver spoke and she travelled from beside Brant back to the kittens and Sarah. "Mmm, I guess so. I don't see why it could be so big though. You're not that important." She retorted, cracking a little bit of a smile. It was the truth, as much as she hated him at some times because he was an insensitive prat, he did know how to make her smile. And it was pretty much by letting her attempt to insult him. Because ... that was how she kept herself stable. Kept her emotions stable. By poking fun at someone else. Remember the fountain? Okay. Bad example. That had turned into a crappy emotion-fest. Maybe in their old age, Oliver was making her get even more emotional

As she took her seat, and the hug with Sarah came, Lori made it her every intention to listen to anything that came out of her mouth. Because Lori knew it'd be something she wanted to hear. And it was. Her own reply came back as quiet as Sarah's initial vocals had been, and a few tears trickled down her cheeks as so. "I know... I... I never thought i'd be so attached to a old building," In a nice way of course.

WAIT!!!! "The train hasn't moved yet, has it? Do I still have time to run back and get my dust? I left a speck of dust!" Said speck of dust was... her dorm in entirety. She wanted BACK!

He didn't like tears.

Taking particular note that Nia wasn't here, and hoping with a little stab of guilt that it wasn't because of him, he flopped into an empty seat and sighed.

"Yah. You're all..." he shook his head, a slight smile tipping one side of his mouth. "Is this really how you want your last memories of Hogwarts to go?" He focused on Sarah, for lack of having a million pairs of eyes to look at everyone at once. "Being sad about it won't change anything."

And he was done with that topic. There were tears and general sad-packing and while it was understandable... he wanted to remember smiles. His attention turned to Oliver, who seemed for his own part to be fairly calm and tear-free. Helpful. Raiden half-smiled and shrugged.

"Finding a job, I guess. I still haven't actually decided what I'm gonna do." Life-wise, he meant. Maybe he'd bother Celandine about it. She knew anything and everything, surely she'd just... pull something out of thin air and tell him he should do that. "What are you gonna get up to?"

Oliver smiled a little at Sarah when he heard her emit a tiny giggle at his attempt at humour. She’d never been one of those to take his teasing seriously and often had a witty retort ready which would make the Slytherin smile in return. He liked that. He was really going to miss the girl.

He grinned at Lori when she said he wasn’t all that important. Made her smile though, didn’t it? “... Yeah well. When I’m rich and famous and you’re living with Ad and a house full of kids, I’ll bet you’ll take that back, Lor.” He gave her a smug look. “Or maybe you’ll be a crrrrazy cat lady. Living alone with fifty cats.” He raised an eyebrow and eyed the cats on her lap. “You’ve already made a good start.” hehe! Where they heck had those cute lil’ balls of furr come from anyway?

He couldn’t help letting out a small snicker as she started flailing about dust or whatever. Lori was an endearing character in many ways.

Focusing back on the teary Sarah, he gulped and nodded and then gave her a soft smile. At least she had Lori to comfort her, eh?

He nodded as Raiden spoke. Urgh.. Did they really have to go out there into the big bad world and be responsible adults? Even now, while they were sitting on the train it didn't seem real to Oliver. His brain just kept telling him that they would be here again come September. “..You’re not considering uni? You always struck me as the type to further your education.” Cos Raiden was hella intelligent, right? He shrugged. “The same. Finding a job, finding somewhere to live..” He gave Cam a subconscious squeeze as he spoke. Just how the couple were going to manage, Oliver couldn't quite fathom... but they would, even if they had to live on beans and wear rags in order to stretch to paying the rent every month.

The door opened and in wandered Nia looking extremely sombre. He gave the ex-Ravenclaw Captain a bright smile in greeting, but his attention was drawn away from her and to Cedric when he started rambling about ‘tears of joy?’ *snort* He had to use every ounce of willpower he had not to let out a dirty cackle. It wasn’t funny... or, at least, he didn’t think it was supposed to be.

Oh man... but Oliver just couldn’t resist, could he?

He smirked at the Huffie lad. “You know, I cried tears of joy when I realised I wouldn’t have to see Lori every day anymore.” hehe! He sent a cheeky wink Lori’s way and grinned. Ah.. he’d so miss her. He’d miss her like hell.
