Upon stepping through the door, you are probably quite surprised (or not) to find yourself standing on a Baseball Field. Or a miniature version of it anyway. Even though, the ceiling looks like the actual sky outside it is only echanted to do so and is actually only a magically enhanced ceiling of which, say, a baseball would easily bounce off.
As you step in further, you might notice a rather bulky box which is obviously full of...something. Furthermore, a huge pile of sneakers can be seen, sneakers in all sizes and colors and variations. You wait for the rest of the class to file in.
Meredith stepped inside the classroom and looked up and down. She tilted her head, she was very confused. Meredith had no idea what any of this was. Whatever it was, she was probably going to stink at it, considering she had heard nothing about this game.

Salander stepped out-- or into, depending on how you see it-- the enchanted baseball field. He took a deep breath, expecting to smell that irreplaceable scent grass and ground. Hmm not quite. he mused, but shrugged it off. They're playing baseball baby!!!

Like really far out." How many people were going to be able to hit the ball out there? Most of them didn't even know what baseball was.
Salander shifted his head, picking out Mia's voice from the chatting crowd. He had to smirk, sounded like Mia wasnt much of a fan of baseball. "Professor Z! he said waving his hand, then pointing to Mia "Yeah put her in the LEFT Outfield." Cuz you know, thats where all the homerun hits go. Cue evil grin.

He was a cheeky one.
Was this payback for the mohawk?
Mia stood for a moment still staring at him and then a small mischevious smile spread across her face and she moved through the crowd of students until she was behind him and then she jumped on his back.
"New rules of the game. You have to run the bases while giving me a piggyback."
Lauren walked out onto the field "Oh.My.Goodness. This is not right." She sighed "I'll be out field too!" She smiled "Or better yet, I'll be a spectator, all games need those right." She gave him a hopeful grin.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

"I'm all set!" Alice said warmly. "Although I do hope that my shoe holds it together." Alice looked down and eyed the duct tape that basically took up half of her shoe.
"How is your leg doing?" Alice asked, pleased to see that Salander was moving without any pain.

Chloe walked through the door and her jaw dropped as she saw amini baseball field. Her old school had never been this hands on with muggle sports. Then again her school was one of mostly elitist magical pricks so what can you expect. But Chloe had always been facinated by the muggle world and and crossed over quite a lot growing up but to actually see a magical school take an active intrest in muggle studies is just WOW. She saw the huge pile of shoes and quickly found her size and laced up. She could not wait for this game to begin.
Cass entered the field and frowned, she had no idea how to play the muggle sport. "Maybe I could just be moral support?" She asked herself as she sat down on the grass at the sides of the room and hoping that she could just watch her classmates play.
She walked onto the feild and a found a familar sense of home she had played softball in the muggle world which was not so different from baseball. "Yes, finally something to remind me of home" she exclaimed with excitement
Emmaleigh followed her classmates through the door, and wasn't the least bit surprised at what she saw. She had been expecting this after all. But she didn't like it, No sir. She may know the basic rules of the game, but Emmaleigh hated playing it. She is horrible at it. She is way too clumsy to make a good player.
seeing Em wringing her hands and looking nervous " dont sweat it I am here and I can help you it is easy dont be afraid of the ball and you will be ok are you let or right handded if you catch with your left hand then I got an extra glove. It is broken in real good almost catches the ball it self " pulling out the Spalding glove and handing it to her
Preston walked into the Muggle Studies room, shocked to find himself standing on a miniture version of a...baseball field? He shrugged his shoulders, nothing surprised him too much at Hogwarts. Everything was amazing. No more than amazing. The only thing now that made Preston nervous was the fact he wasn't good at sports due to his clumsiness...and that he knew nearly no one still... except for...the one girl he had met in the courtyard with Ringo. Though he didn't catch her name, at least Preston had the feeling he knew someone.

Pffffft...she was ABOVE that rule. Savvy could do anything in heels.....maybe. In all honesty she didn't even WANT to play baseball. Couldn't she just sit and look pretty? She was awfully good at looking pretty. Savannah raised a hand, hearing everyone shouting out random positions to be at.
"Can I be in the position that allows me to wear my shoes...."Pause."And preferably doesn't let them get dirty?"Savvy eyed her shoes and then looked back at Zookara."They are rather expensive you know..."
Preston carefully walked up to her, trying not to trip over anything and make a mess. "D-d-do y-y-you r-r-remember m-me?" He asked the girl with a goofy grin looking up at her.

Emmaleigh gave a small smile as Michael approached her, and it widened into a grin when he asked her if she was right or left handed. "I'm both," she replied. "And for the most part, I know how to play. Its just that I'm not any good at it."

Yes.
YES.
They were going to play baseball. Rose could do this! She could SO do this! She dumped her bag in the corner of the room, by rhe pile of sneakers. Why had she bought her bag, anyway? There was no point in that at all. It wasn't like she had a baseball bat hidden in there. Though, that wasn't a half-bad idea. Maybe she should have a baseball bat in there?
She glanced down at her shoes and smiled. No borrowed shoes for her todayy! She'd worn her favourite converse, the purple ones with little stars. They'd be perfect for baseball. Rose looked pityingly at the girl in the high heels. Who was stupid enough to come in heels? How was that girl gonna play baseball? Huh?
Silly people. Now she'd have to borrow the nasty, worn sneakers. HA.

Rubiey groaned, and almost walked back out, except she didn't want to let Professor Zookara down. Sighing, she put her bag down with the rest, and stood on around the field thingy, hoping not to be seen.
Rubiey was a hazard with anything bat-related in her hand. Like, seriously. When they had done Cricket at her old school for PE, she had swung for the ball, only to let go of the bat causing it to land riiiiight on the teachers foot. Which had been broken for 6 weeks.
GAH, this was Rubiey's WORST NIGHTMARE.
She looked down at her feet, and almost cried when she was reminded she had put Converses on today. Typical. She should have found some heels, and worn them. She hated heels, but then atleast she would have an excuse not to play..
Carpe Diem: Make today extraordinary! WOOT WOOT! GRYFFINDOR!!
Sophia smiled when she walked into the baseball field classroom. "Yay! We are gonna play baseball!!!!" she exclaimed, happily. She laced up her cleats and got ready to play.

Salander looked down at Alice's feet. "Are those from Potions?" he asked worriedly referring to the duct taped contraption on her foot that tried to pass itself off a shoe. "I hope you have some duct tape on hand cuz that doesnt look like it would last a homerun." he joked "Maybe you ought to use the Reparo spell on that, see if it fixes--"

Oooh a sporting event! That did not involve heights! Or magic! Or brooms! Or heights! Fletcher liked this. And he had seen cricket a few times, so how hard cold baseball be, right?
"I wanna play a bass...er...base," the boy muttered, scuffling his sneakers on the grass. He leaned toward Salander and added an aside behind his hand, "Which spot's the best, mate?"

Still hefting a piggybacking Mia on his back and not being bothered by the extra weight (yet), Salander replied by the side of his lips "The Catcher dude, sits right there on the home plate. He catches the pitches the batters miss and you get to ridicule them all you want." he snickered.
Of course he kinda left out the very important fact that the Catcher also gets pummeled the most by all the batters tearing down like a runaway train trying to make a homerun. Guess Fletcher will have to find that out on his own wont he?

Mia giggled and tightened her hold Sal just in case he tried to throw her off or something. "You don't scare me Salander. Besides what's a bit of dirt between friends?" He better not be serious about that either because Mia had seen baseball players slide in the dirt and it looked as though it could hurt a lot.

Looking over to the older Hufflepuff, Mia grinned. "Don't listen to Sal here, he's just trying to get you into trouble. I think you would actually make a pretty good umpire." She gave him a wink and then chuckled. Everyone knew that the umpire was a target for every type abuse if they called it wrong.
Strolling out onto the field, Jeremy turned after a few steps to face the class and said, "Now, this is the reason why I asked you to wear flat shoes, preferably something close to sneakers, as it might be hard to walk or run here on the grass. For those of you who haven't done so-" Like, say Savannah Conrad. "-I brought some sneakers for you to change into." He gestured towards a pile of rather new looking shoes somewhere to his left.
"As soon as you're ready, I'd need one of the Beater people from before to help me demonstrate aaaaaand-" There HAD been somebody who had volunteered to pitch before, only who? "- Kurumi, you said you can pitch, right?" He turned to grin at the girl who had made that lovely drawing and gave her a questioning look. It HAD been her, right?
Jaxon raised his hand. He was never a good listener in class especially when he already knows what is being thought in it.
"Sir, can I help in demonstrating?" he said. He had played baseball before and he is pretty good at it.

OK...breathe...just breathe...
Patroclus comment about being the umpire made her smile and even giggle a little through her nerves. What if she hit Cam?! No, that would be terrible. She would make sure that she threw her best speed ball just the way her brothers had taught her.
"Should I take a glove?" she asked pointing in the general direction of the box she assumed was filled with baseball supplies. She wondered if there was a little bag filled with chalk in there as well...
Oooh, good, Cameron had volunteered first. Jeremy wasn't completely sure if he had handed the bat to say Trixie for demonstration purposes. Though, she was probably going to be allowed to bat later. They all were. Okay, most of them.
"Okay, come on over here, Cameron." Jeremy beckoned her to join him near the home base before turning back to Kurumi. "Excellent, thank you Kurumi." He followed the girl's gaze towards the box and nodded. "Yes, please, could you please just take the box along with you and then join me and Cameron?" She probably needed help with the heavy box...unless she used magic. Which he could have done too, but this was Muggle Studies so he was trying to use as little magic as possible.

Just to exhibit his perfection at the role, the boy bellowed, "Yoooooooou're Out!" Pointing his arm up to the sky! and in the small breath "Strike Te- Three!"
Hehehe.
And Patroclus struck again. Magic? "Would you prefer going off searching for the balls on the grounds instead?" Jeremy mused with a small grin and his eyebrows slightly raised. Aww, and he wanted to be the Umpire. But then again, why not. "Sure, Patroclus. After the demonstration you may be the Umpire." Because he wasn't going to have a Catcher for the Batting-demonstration so Patroclus would be quite exposed to the bat.
Why could he already hear the boy shout 'You fail!' or 'Strike 234'?

Amber had her hands in her pockets, looking around. They had to split into groups? Great, this was basically a test to see how popular you were. She decided to be a good little seventh year and try to be in a group with a younger student. She walked over to a girl named Daisy and said, "Hey, do you want to be in a group together?" She smiled, showing her gleaming white teeth that contrasted greatly with her red hair. Sometimes as a joke people shielded their eyes when she smiled, which always made Amber giggle.

Because that was just plain rude.
Kurumi looked at the box. It was HUGE! He was joking, right? She approached the box as if it were going to jump up and bite her. She peaked in and found a glove her size and moved it to the top of all the supplies.
Now...to carry it back over to the professor. She tried to pick it up but it was like trying to pick up a boulder. That wasn't going to work. Pulling! Yes, that should work. She grabbed the side nearest her and tried to pull....but ended up leaning back to far that she fell on her back. Nope...that wasn't going to work either. With only one other option left, she scampered over to the other side of the box, pressed her entire right side against the box and began ever so slowly pushing it towards the professor.
Success! No matter how ridiculous she looked, at least she was moving the box, right?

SWEEEEEEEEEET.
She got to hit things. At people. For school. HEH. Cameron was good at really good at beating. She liked to hit things. Hard. Or poke. Or flick. WHatever was easiest really.
She grinned at the Professor. YAYS. She was pretty excited. Y'know. To hit stuff. And.. play the game obviously. She'd seen baseball on tv once or twice but it was usually the American teams playing.
And she preferred watching the Rugby anyway.
Box..box..box..
What was IN the box?
Peeking inside, she 'ooohed' a bit at the contents. There was gloves, helmets and other.. basebally shizz. That was exciiiiiiiiiting! "Sirrrrrrrr," She asked with a frown. "Do we have to wear the entire get up?" Because she'd look foolish. Like.. really bad.
She giggled slightly as Savannah complained about having to change shoes. Typical. "I wanna see you try run in 'em." *snort* That'd be hilarious. "Buhhht, you don't wanna ruin them, Sav. Do ya?" Probably not. Because they were fancyshmancy and probably cost a small house.
