Practical Part of Lesson #1: The Baseball Field Upon stepping through the door, you are probably quite surprised (or not) to find yourself standing on a Baseball Field. Or a miniature version of it anyway. Even though, the ceiling looks like the actual sky outside it is only echanted to do so and is actually only a magically enhanced ceiling of which, say, a baseball would easily bounce off. |
Strolling out onto the field, Jeremy turned after a few steps to face the class and said, "Now, this is the reason why I asked you to wear flat shoes, preferably something close to sneakers, as it might be hard to walk or run here on the grass. For those of you who haven't done so-" Like, say Savannah Conrad. "-I brought some sneakers for you to change into." He gestured towards a pile of rather new looking shoes somewhere to his left. "As soon as you're ready, I'd need one of the Beater people from before to help me demonstrate aaaaaand-" There HAD been somebody who had volunteered to pitch before, only who? "- Kurumi, you said you can pitch, right?" He turned to grin at the girl who had made that lovely drawing and gave her a questioning look. It HAD been her, right? |
The teachers were COOOOOOOL! All the lessons had practical parts! Cameron traipsed after Professor Zooky and followed him to the pitch. Wait.. batt!? OOHHOOHH!! "Meeee!" Heh. Well.. she could hit it and she could hit it hard. That's all you needed right? Aim.. PFT. |
Patroclus followed the Professor into the next room, and was rather blown away by the fact that it was outside, but inside, then again it was magic. "Sir?" The boy smiled, "Shouldn't we not be using magic? Just saying......Can I be the Umpire?" The boy was probably trying his luck, but he was Zookara's favourite after all! Just to exhibit his perfection at the role, the boy bellowed, "Yoooooooou're Out!" Pointing his arm up to the sky! and in the small breath "Strike Te- Three!" Hehehe. |

OK...breathe...just breathe... Patroclus comment about being the umpire made her smile and even giggle a little through her nerves. What if she hit Cam?! No, that would be terrible. She would make sure that she threw her best speed ball just the way her brothers had taught her. "Should I take a glove?" she asked pointing in the general direction of the box she assumed was filled with baseball supplies. She wondered if there was a little bag filled with chalk in there as well... |
Trixie so wanted to get her hands on that beaters bat but she KNEW Jeremy would most probably not allow it. Just judging by the "look" he had given her earlier in the lesson. he had Which meant she would be doing practically nothing. HMPH! The Slytherin pouted and just stood there with her arms folded across her chest as she waited for the lesson to continue. Blah Blah. Something about rules and more on sport. |
Awesome! Simply awesome! Treyen followed Professor Zookara, of course, no question about that. But...well, yes, he was no Beater. He'd been Keeper and Seeker. Even back at home used to be Chaser, so, yeah. No Beater. That was his sister. The boy eyed his shoes. Good enough. And waited. |
Practical part... She should've known she wouldn't have been able to escape playing this muggle game. Maybe she could be that empire person. They seemed to hold all the power in the game when calling the shots. Besides, those were the people that didn't run, hit, or do anything in the game but just talk. Yes! It was perfect! Aw wait no, Patroclus wanted to be that person. Meh, she wasn't a beater either, so she'd just...stay back here then. Waaaay back here. Maybe she wouldn't even have to play the game then. |
Freya followed Professor Zookara into the next room when she entered it she was amazed. She was in the middle on the baseball field. WICKED..!! She heard the Professor asked for beater. She never played beater before so she just stood there waiting for other students to volunteer. |
Giggling at her best friend's eagerness to bat, Lori shoved her hands into her pockets and looked around. She liked bats. And shoes. MAYBE SHE COULD BAT THE REMAINING SHOES AWAY! Ooooh. She'd ask the Professor later, with a biiiig 'pretty please' face, and a grin, and a giggle. Then a pout. THEN CHOKLIT. |
Alice walked out into the replica of a baseball field and smiled. Her dad loved baseball and she remembered playing catch with him in her backyard at home. Alice had worn her sneakers, which were still strapped with duct tape over the huge hole from the potions disaster...well perhaps disaster was too strong a word...mishap is better. Alice went over and stood near everyone else that had come out and looked around. She loved the way they could make the ceilings here look like the actual sky. |
Fee stood next to Freya looking rather confused. She had never played basketball in her life before. |
Baseball- yeah, Hugo had played it with his dad. He was sure he was at least a bit good at it. He looked around. Ahh, the outside. |
Emmaleigh followed her classmates through the door, and wasn't the least bit surprised at what she saw. She had been expecting this after all. But she didn't like it, No sir. She may know the basic rules of the game, but Emmaleigh hated playing it. She is horrible at it. She is way too clumsy to make a good player. |

Savannah stood, hand on hip eying the ground. Baseball? She didn't want to play baseball! It required her getting all dirty and gross and icky and Savannah was NOT prepared for it at all. Savvy eyed her suede heels, knowing why he said not to wear heels to class. Pffffft...she was ABOVE that rule. Savvy could do anything in heels.....maybe. In all honesty she didn't even WANT to play baseball. Couldn't she just sit and look pretty? She was awfully good at looking pretty. Savannah raised a hand, hearing everyone shouting out random positions to be at. "Can I be in the position that allows me to wear my shoes...."Pause."And preferably doesn't let them get dirty?"Savvy eyed her shoes and then looked back at Zookara."They are rather expensive you know..." |
Daisy had stood quietly and observed. She'd never actually been on a Baseball Field. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed. |
Adeline sauntered to the field. HAUNTING MEMORIES !! Ohh... how much she wanted to leave. Cheering was waaayyy bettter! Shelooked down at her new old converse and smilled at the picture of someone getting hit with baseball. She raised her hand and said. "Can I just sit out or be the batter..." she said with her arms crossed. This was gonnna be a lonngg lesson... |
Beater? What? "I could be beater, Professor!! Pleeeaseee?" Oh, how Ellie missed hitting a ball. Hah, that sounded dangerous, didn't it? |
Simon followed the rest of the class through the door, only to find the baseball field in front of him. Looks like the professors are getting a kick of having classes with a lot of physical activity this term, he mused to himself. Hearing the request for a beater to deminstrate, he almost volunteered since he usually did play that position, but he kept quiet when he was beaten to it by Cameron. Instead waiting for the practical part to begin so they could play, the Gryffindor boy quite used to playing with his older brother. |
Walking down to the room with the other students, Louisa was shocked to know why she wore flats today. She definitely didn't see THIS coming. Playing baseball? Like with bats and all? No wands or super-cool sport for wizards which happened to be Quidditch!! She frowned slightly and folded her arms, "Er.. Can I be the one who crouch behind the batter wearing a glove and a.. bars veil?" Yeah that role would absolutely fit her. Well, the teacher didn't say he wanted to form a team yet but that was too obviouse.. everyone chose their own positions. |
SQUEEE! Amber couldn't believe they were playing baseball! She was so beast at this game! She couldn't wait to get a bat in her hands, she was told by some of her friends that she was lethal with a baseball bat. She grinned, bouncing on the heels of her shoes. |
Edmond stepped into the class and found that it didn't look like any ordinary class. Did he go to the wrong room again, or perhaps end up outside. He went back out into the hall and came back in. He was in the correct class. He stood in the back of the room and listened to the professors directions. Baseball. Edmond has never ever played baseball before. He's read about it, but that was as close as he got to Baseball. This was going to be interesting. Ha! Good thing he brought his black and white Converse. |
Stepping out onto the baseball field, Mia looked slightly dismayed. Sports were definitely not her thing. It was not for lack of trying though, more the fact that she had absolutely no coordination whatsoever. But she was glad that she was wearing her own sneakers though. Thanks to Matty. Glancing out over the field and then to the equipment, Mia raised her hand. "Sir I'm happy to go in the out field. Like really far out." How many people were going to be able to hit the ball out there? Most of them didn't even know what baseball was. |
Stepping onto the field, he grins broadly. He loved baseball! He couldn't wait to get started, his head bobbing, he looks around spotting the professor. "I'd be a good catcher." he said. He wasn't much for throwing very well, but he could catch easily that's what made him a good seeker. |
