Office of Professor Jeremy Zookara

The Office of Professor Jeremy Zookara

After having been invited in by the professor you enter a rather crowded looking office which nonetheless looks quite cozy. There are two comfortable looking chairs on one side of the large oak desk and one on the other side for Jeremy to sit in. On the desk you may happen to glance at several photos which are turned away from you, though, so you are now unable to actually see the people in them. Upon taking a closer look at the desk, you might notice that one of the picture frames has been placed upside down on top of the desk. Do not ask why...

Furthermore, a number of book shelves have been quite randomly positioned against the wall on both sides of the room. They are filled with all kinds of books, and there seems to be no order at which they have been placed on the shelves whatsoever. They are just there, one after the other, reaching from Shakespeare's Macbeth to a book on Muggle Cooking. So should you be in need of something to read then this is certainly the perfect place to go...after the Library of course.

One last thing may catch your attention as you let your eyes scan the office in search for something interesting: A glass cabinet filled with...rubber ducks? Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Rubber ducks, in all variations, all colors, all sizes. Neatly placed next to each other. A glass cabinet full of rubber ducks. Now you might know what to bring for your next visit.

OOC: Please do NOT post your character in this thread unless they have been invited in by Jeremy. Just RP yourself knocking and waiting in the Corridor Outside the Office until I post specifically allowing you in - either by quoting your post or by allowing EVERYBODY in. Thank you.

Lottiepot 09-04-2010 10:49 PM

Ooooooh his office.....

*Blink*

What was with the ducks in the cabinet? *blink* Erm...Anyway.....

Trix turned her attention away from the random filled cabinet and more focused on where she was going now. Didn't want to walk into anything. That would just be embarrassing, especially in front of Jer....Err wait what was his surname again?

Those chairs looked comfy, Trixie walked straight on over and took a seat before turning back to the Professor. "Erm...You asked to see me...again" Pfft...But of a rubbish intro there.

Lislchen 09-04-2010 11:06 PM

With one last grin at the people outside Jeremy followed Trixie inside and closed the door behind him. He normally would have left it open but for this conversation they probably needed a little privacy. Obviously. Why couldn't she have stayed at Beauxbatons?!

He took his time in making his way over to his own seat, across the one Trixie had taken, with the desk between them. Now how to start that conversation? "Yes..." If you ever need somebody to tell you how to properly start an awkward conversation DO NOT ask Jeremy for help. Obviously. Rubbing the back of his neck he gave her a small grin before shrugging slightly. This didn't HAVE to be awkward after all. Especially because Trixie didn't seem to remember him anyhow.

"So, you still don't remember me, do you?" He had to make sure after all. Maybe Sam had made her remember or something.

Lottiepot 09-04-2010 11:12 PM

The Blonde's eyes followed the professor as he sat down, opposite her obviously. Well at least he had asked to see her and she hadn't just completely made that up. That was a good start.

"I can't say I do..." she smiled sadly. Which was so annoying because...Well just LOOK at him. Come on, every girl in the school was going to take Muggle Studies this year weren't they? "Dad reassured me that I definitely know you.." but that was pretty much it. She hadn't seen much of her own parents over the holidays, she spent some of it in America and the rest with her cousins.

But even if she knew that she did know him, she still couldn't remember anything about him, other then what she had been told.

Lislchen 09-08-2010 05:58 PM

Okay, good, at least she believed him. Sam had confirmed it to her. Good, that was good. Not that this made it any less awkward. Though, Jeremy assumed it should feel less awkward as he could be sure that she didn't think of him as some scary stalker.

Now, why had he summoned her to his office again?

"Well, that's great." Okay, maybe great wasn't the right word to use but it certainly was an acceptable answer. Still, it would have been a lot easier if she had remembered him. However, things didn't turn out the way he wanted them to lately so why was he even surprised. Hmpf.

"Actually, Trixie, I just wanted to make certain that this-" He made a rather vague hand gesture sort of taking in the two of them. "-is not going to be awkward." This is why I called you in to have this awkward conversation right now. "Yes, that is all." Which was her cue to say something.

Lottiepot 09-08-2010 07:14 PM

Jeez this was just..... Well she didn't know how to describe it really other then...well, generally awkward.

But at least now he knew, that she knew that she definitely did know him. Wow that was confusing. So maybe it would be less awkward....Or you know, Not.

This?

*Blink*

This was already awkward. She knew one of her professors and quite well apparently. "Of course not" she gave a reassuring smile. Pffft lies. "....Professor" she added on the end. Well that felt weird saying. Better get used to that one. Well it shouldn't be so bad seeing as she couldn't Bloomin' well remember him. "I look forward to your lessons then" she grinned before standing up. She could go then yes?

Lislchen 09-09-2010 04:00 AM

At least she agreed with him on not making this any more awkward than it already was. He had enough awkward in his life right now without this added to it, thank you very much. Though, no, actually he didn't. Because it all didn't matter. He was over it. SO over it. He couldn't even remember what he was over that much was he over it. Yes.

"Great. Oh, and please, call me Jeremy." Because 'Professor' felt just weird. Not only from Trixie but in general. Yes, he was a professor now but he still didn't feel like being called one. "Thank you, Trixie." To be honest, he was looking forward to them too. This was going to be interesting. Griiin!

"Thank you for coming, Trixie. Please leave the door open on your way out." Jeremy gave her a genuine grin this time, his spirits having been lifted by the thought of his upcoming lessons. Oh so many options on what he could do them on.

Lockhartian 09-09-2010 07:26 AM

He was still finishing his muffin when the Professor stepped outside and said it was okay to come inside? Yes, that's what he heard.

"Hello, Professor...." er, Treyen eyed the room, there was no sign of his name anywhere, but there were, "...Ducks!" rubber duckies! Like the one he'd just eaten. Well, no, he didn't eat a rubber duck, he just ate the muffin with the duck in it.

"My name is Treyen, Treyen Lockhart and I have come to ask you a question, perhaps you'll be able to help me" he nodded, it was muggle-related sooo perhaps he knew.

CharGryffindor 09-09-2010 06:31 PM

Rubiey walked into Professor Zookara's office. She grinned at him. "Hello, Professor. I'm Rubiey O'Rielly, Gryffindor First Year, and I was just coming to introduce myself before your first lesson. I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be good to learn about Muggles from another point of view." She smiled, growing redder and redder as she spoke.

Michael White 09-10-2010 12:07 AM

Walking in to the office.and seeing all the rubber ducks brings a smile to his face "Sir I am a muggle but I wanted to take you class thinking I might get a better understanding on how the magical world see us. Do you think that is a good Idea and would I get anything out of it.

The first student who dared to enter the Office after Trixie had left was a young boy...who was still busy finishing one of his Ducky!Chocolate-Chip-Muffins. "Are they any good?" Jeremy couldn't refrain from asking with an obvious grin towards the muffin in the boy's hand.

...had he just called him Professor Ducks?! O_o "Technically it's Zookara. Jeremy Zookara. You may call me Ducks though if you want to." He added with a few chuckles as his hazel eyes automatically wandered off towards his glass cabinet for a moment. Yes, it was quite understandable where the 'nickname' had come from.

A question, hmm? Well, this was certainly going to be interesting. "Nice to meet you, Treyen. Well, go on, what can I help you with?" He'd definitely know an answer to the question...whether it was the right one or just some silly response was yet to be discovered.

Oooh, and one of the girls from outside had dared to enter too. How nice. Giving her a friendly grin, Jeremy gestured towards one of the vacant seats. "Please, have a seat, Rubiey. It's nice to meet you." Aw, this made him become even more excited for his first lesson. At least he now already knew a few people who would definitely attend it. Would have been quite boring to do it alone.

Wait...was the girl blushing?! Normally, Jeremy would have had a smart comment ready for an occasion like this but he was a professor now and the girl was his student so better keep up the respect she (hopefully) had for him. "So, how do you like Hogwarts so far?" Because personally he LOVED it...especially the Library.

Turning to the third student who had entered his office - yet another boy - Jeremy automatically had to smile too upon seeing the boy's own grin. "Oh, I'm Muggleborn myself, so it would be rather strange for me to tell you not to attend my class, wouldn't it?" He winked at him before after a small pause he added as an afterthought, "Well, it would be strange either way for me to tell you not to attend my class." Obviously.

"So, sorry, I didn't catch your name." Better start early with remembering names, so maybe at the end of the term he might have remembered at least 10...or more even. Maybe he should start a list?

Huh? What?

Treyen looked confused, but a minute later understood, "Oh, delicious!" wait, the Professor didn't put anything in them, did he? He was looking suspiciously at the man.

The boy suddenly smiled, "Oh, no, I'm sorry...I didn't mean" he didn't mean to call him Ducks, it just sort of slipped out at the wrong time, however, his eyes sparkled, "Call you Ducks? Really?" like, for real? Because Treyen would prefer Professor Zookara anytime. It sounded cool.

But it was question time. "Oh, yes, I was talking to a friend of mine and, well, we were talking about skating" which is a total muggle activity, no? The Professor should know, "And I don't have a skateboard, but I wanted to know if you perhaps knew how to make one?" he asked before adding something else, "Educational purposes only" were skateboards forbidden at Hogwarts?

Rubiey sat down, looking around the room. It was a cute small space. Cosy. She smiled. It was nice. "Oh, it's great, I love it here. Everyone's been so friendly and helpful." She grinned at him.

She spotted something on he bookshelf. "Oh, sir, you've got Macbeth! I love Shakespeare. We had to read it in my old school. It's an amazing play, don't you think?" She asked. Yeah, her muggle boarding school was strict, especially on the younger kids. That was why she was so into reading; they had read everything that was advanced in the muggle world from a veeery young age.

Following everyone into the office, Jake couldn't help but hang back slightly.

Peeeeeeeeople.

He eyed the man who appeared to be the professor and just stood there twiddling his thumbs. It was super odd to see the office... lacking someone. It just... didn't seem right.

Alice held the note he had sent out in here hand, loving the fact that it had a rubber duck as the background on it. Seeing an open seat, she took one, and waited until no one else was speaking and there was a couple moments pause to introduce herself.

"Hi Professor Zookara, my name is Alice Page. I was wondering, is it alright if we take this class even though we may have come from a muggle home?" Alice wondered if that would be considered kind of cheating since she basically knew a lot more about muggle life than witch/wizard life. "I thought the class would be interesting for me...you know, getting to see what the muggle world looks like through the eyes of non-muggles."

Was that a suspicious look he was getting from Treyen?! What did he do to deserve that look? Or maybe he was just being paranoid. Though, he was so not the person to be paranoid. At least he didn't used to be. Well, nevermind. "Good" Jeremy ended up saying with one eyebrow raised in a 'Something wrong?' sort of way.

Could he call him Ducks? "Well, to be honest, I prefer 'Ducks' over some other not so positive nickname you might come up with. Though, of course Zookara would be perfect. Or you may also call me Jeremy if you can't seem to remember my last name." He winked at him, hopefully showing him nonetheless that he was actually serious.

Skating?! Yes, he knew about skating. Just not too much about how to MAKE one. "Educational purposes only, hmm?" A small smirk flashed across his lips before he became serious again. "You actually want to make one yourself?" Why would anybody want to do that? "Well, I myself am not that acquainted with actually making them but my brother might be. Let me talk to him. How does that sound?" Yes, Coop would know how to do that. Maybe.

Aww, what a cutie. The girl was smiling a lot. And grinning. And blushing, but only previously. "I agree. Everybody seems so nice and welcoming." He grinned at Rubiey, nodding slowly. He hadn't come across any hostility in this castle yet. Well, apart from Hecate and Kimber at the Start of Term Feast. Nevermind.

Following her gaze towards his bookshelf Jeremy was positively surprised when she exclaimed that she had read Macbeth. That made him like her even more. "Why yes, it is. Have you read any other plays by Shakespeare?" Maybe he should do a class on Shakespeare some time...though, there would probably be a lot of students who wouldn't quite appreciate that as much as him and Rubiey. Shame.

Right now, his name-list idea did sound like a great one. Or he could make them wear name-tags all the time...though, somehow he got the feeling the students wouldn't exactly approve of that.

Wait...when had he got into the office?

Blinking at the boy a few times in surprise upon finally noticing him, Jeremy finally gave him a grin. "Hey there. What can I do for you?" Because he wasn't here to stand there twiddling his thumbs, was he? Well, if he was then he was of course welcome to but you know, it would be a little weird.

Maybe they could twiddle thumbs together some time. Or you know, not.

Waiting for his guests - who were outside HIS office, oh it felt so good to have an own office again - to answer, his gaze lazily drifted back towards his still open door. Which was when he noticed that there were still people outside...and new people too. Whoa, now someone was popular, hmm? Hehe.

As they were apparently NOT looking inside he had to get their attention in another way. Because right now a) it would be rude of him to get up mid-conversation and b) he was too lazy to get up from his desk in the first place. Which was why he quickly reached for a pre-prepared piece of parchment and his quill and wrote a quick note which he sent flying outside with a flick of his wand.

Er, perhaps the muffins were okay and didn't contain anything that may harm them? Yes, probably, and here Treyen was already suspecting of the man.

Sigh.

Grin! Haha. 'Ducks'. That IS one awesome nickname! But, no, Treyen was a good kid, a very respectful one too, "Professor Zookara it is" he nodded, with a smile on his face. Perhaps if this Professor was still around when he was a sixth or seventh year, then he'd call him 'Jeremy'. But right now, Professor Zookara. Maybe 'Ducks'.

"Yes, only educational purposes" because he wasn't going to try it around the school, he just wanted to build stuff, riiiiiiight. "I do, Professor" he said, a single nod leaving the golden-brown head followed by a light frown. He didn't know. Disappointment. And then the frown disappeared. "It sounds perfect!" awesome! "Just let me know what he replies" a nod, and another nod, and another nod, and another nod.

Happiness at the thought.

"And introduhh-duce myself. And wwelcome you... I'm Jake... Jake Luhh-lawson."

Alice nodded in thanks at him making more chairs so she could have a spot to sit. She carefully read his facial expression as she asked her question. His wink and smirk seemed friendly enough, but Alice had a terrible feeling that she had offended him. "Professor, I didn't mean to imply that I thought your class would be boring because I am a muggle. In fact I feel quite the opposite. I love learning about things from different people's perspectives." Alice could feel herself blushing from embarrassment. Perhaps she was completely off and he hadn't been offended at all? Alice looked down at her lap. Confidence. That was definitely a character trait of hers that needed some work.

iLate. iFail. >_<

Having passed the note over to the little one, Sarah stood just inside the Professor's office, smiling as she waited for her turn to speak.

Spotting a break in conversation, she took a couple of steps forward. "Hello, Professor Zookara. I just thought I would come and introduce myself. I'm Sarah Griffin, the Head Girl." As if he couldn't tell that from the badge she was wearing. Geez. The man was a Professor, he wasn't stupid or blind. Good start, Griffin.

And there were rubber ducks in the office too? That was....even weirder. But, you know, everyone has to have a hobby, she guessed. Of course staring at them would be considered rude, so Sarah averted her gaze and instead swept it across the many people who were in the room. My he was a popular man. Sorry for the late reply. *epic fail* >.<

Grin! Haha.

Aww, that was clear disappointment plastered across Treyen's face there, when he told him he didn't know how to build a skateboard. But only until he mentioned asking his brother for help. "Will do. I hope he'll have replied by my first lesson." Unless, Cooper shooed the owl away again like last time. When it came to animals, even owls, it became VERY apparent that they were related.

With a nod - it was sort of catching, the nodding - Jeremy smiled and made a quick note so he wouldn't forget about owling Coop. "Now, have you skateboarded before?" Maybe that friend he had mentioned had taken him skateboarding. If not he certainly had missed out on something.

Swansea, nice. He had never been there. To be honest he hadn't even known that it existed. But hey, he knew where Wales was so go him. "Well, that's good." What else was there to say?

Following the boy's glance Jeremy found himself blinking at the boy a few times before coming up with a satisfiable answer. For him anyways. "They are nice, aren't they?" He ended up replying, purposefully avoiding the question of why he was collecting them. It wasn't a family secret or anything but he still didn't quite feel like discussing it with this boy. "Okay, sounds great. Thank you." Hopefully the owl would just drop it off and not stick around.

"Thank you, Jake." Lawson...Lawson...that name sounded so familiar. He was sure he'd alread heard it somewhere. Or read it somewhere maybe?"So, please, have a look around." Or whatever he was here for. Be my guest.

Aww, what was it with Hogwarts girls and blushing lately? There wasn't exactly any need for that right now. Or ever actually. In his eyes anyways. "Oh, don't worry, Alice. I'm glad you think so and still want to attend my class." She just didn't have to ASK him because the question itself was what had confused him a little.

He could have sworn that he had seen more people outside than Alice and the girl who had just entered the office. "Do you know if there is still anybody outside?" Jeremy mused out loud, trying to see what was going on outside his office by craning his neck slighlty. Without much success, however.

As if he couldn't tell that from the badge she was wearing. Geez. The man was a Professor, he wasn't stupid or blind. Good start, Griffin.

"Hello Sarah. Nice to meet you." Ooooh, Head Girl, eh? Well, she did look quite responsible and sensible so it was probably a good choice to pick her. Who was the Head Boy actually? Not that he knew that many students or anything. He didn't even know the Prefects. Any of them actually. Maybe there was a list with photos somewhere. He would have to ask somebody.

Welcome him to Hogwarts? "Aww, why thank you, Sarah. It's still all new but I'm slowly getting used to it. I'm starting to find my way around the castle." Sort of. Well, he had found the way to the Library so, yay, what else did he need? His classroom was right next to his office and the Great Hall was very hard to miss.

Mmhmmm. Treyen nodded, rather shyly, and yes, still disappointed.

But now he grinned. "I have! It's brilliant! My cousin taught me! It's like flying, you know...it's the exact same thing, because when you fly you have to watch out for trees...and well, when you skateboard there's plenty of obstacles as well" he could continue on with the talk about skateboarding, if he hadn't kept on thinking about obstacles.

There was ONE obstacle right now, "But I don't own one" he said, shaking his head, "A skateboard, I mean" he nodded, though, he does own a broom, never mind that it used to belong to his sister Kaika before.

"Have you?" skateboarded.

He compared skateboarding to...flying?! O_o Though, when he explained what the two had in common, Jeremy couldn't help but grin. He WAS right. Sort of. "Well, you don't only have to watch out for trees while flying...birds too." Nasty creatures. Especially when they are in your face. "So you like flying then, I assume?" He grew more fond of the boy by the minute.

Jeremy refrained from duh-ing at the boy's next words. Of course he didn't own one, why else would he ask how to build it? But then again, he could have just been curious. Had he...? What? "Have I owned a skateboard? Yes, my brother and I used to love to go skateboarding." Anything to get away from the animals.

*Grumble!Mumble*

Well Trixie was doing as she was told even if Cam didn't turn up or whatever. She just walked straight in, like she had been informed and waited for Jeremy to say something. Should they wait for Cameron to turn up or could she just sit down right now?

"You wanted to see me Professor" the girl sighed, not addressing him by his real now. Didn't think now would exactly be the best time, she certainly wasn't in his good books now was she? Ergh she regreted what she had done now but there was no reversing it was there? Might as well get this over and done with.

Lexers 10-10-2010 05:15 AM

This was ridiculous. Absolutely freaking ridiculous. Why was she being called to Professor Zookara's office? Was this about the thing in Muggle Studies? Did he seriously think she'd gone mental and DELIBERATELY tried to concuss Blondie?

As tempting as it was, she wasn't a murderer.

She traipsed in, scowling, looking irritated. "Oh, Trixie. Should've known you'd be early." Probably sucking up to him already. Great. Perfect. Just bloody fantastic.

"You wanted to see me, Professor?" She asked in a dry, bored tone. Might as well get it over with, right?

Lislchen 10-10-2010 08:24 AM

*clones Jeremy*

Jeremy had been cleaning up his desk, re-arranging pictures, removing a certain picture frame and just doing anything really to keep him occupied. He really needed to go to the library soon, he was out of books to read. Of course one could re-read a classic like Macbeth but he was always up for something new sooo...

...and there was Trixie. "Mhm." The 32 year old simply nodded at her statement and gestured towards the chairs in front of his desk. "Please have a seat while we wait for Cameron." Who arrived just then. Great. Now both of them were here. Jeremy frowned at Cameron's immediate hostility towards Trixie, but decided to leave it for now. This was part of the reason they were here anyhow.

Gesturing towards the other vacant chair, he gave Cam an acknowledging nod too. "Thanks for coming." Not that she had had any choice really. "I've asked you BOTH to come here. So, any of you care to guess the reason why I've brought you here, together?" He raised his eyebrows at the two girls expectantly.

Lexers 10-10-2010 08:56 AM

Cameron dragged herself, begrudgingly - and she showed it. REALLY showed it. She dropped into the seat and scowled, crossing her arms over her chest. Thanks for coming. She scoffed quietly. Whatever. She didn't want to be here. If this was about the baseball/headhitthing Cameron was wasting her time. She'd apologised. End of story right? Why was Trixie dragging this out. HMPH. Stupid dramaqueen.

*scowl*

Ah there was the question. Cameron couldn't KEEP her mouth shut about this one. So much for her 'learning to be less impulsive'.

"Sirrrrrrrr, I've no idea. If this is about the thing where I accidentally hit her on the head with the baseball, seriously, what the shizz? That was an accident. I don't see why I have to sit here and listen to her whinge about how much her head hurts." She turned to Trixie and said in a rather scathing tone. "Build a bridge."

Yeah. She wasn't very happy.

Lottiepot 10-10-2010 09:06 AM

Trixie neither smiled nor frowned, she didn't like getting in trouble, not ever, so she obeyed his every word sitting down where she was told and staring at some random duck whilst they waited for Cameron to arrive. This was even more awkward then any of her other meetings. Silence really. Bleeeeeeh...

But then along came Cam and the sixteen year olds was flicked around to stare at her. Listening to jeremys question, Trix simply folded her arms and looked at the wall. She didn't want to turn her head, it might HURT her.

Stupid Ketchup

So instead of answering she said nothing. Let cam say what she wanted. Pfffffft..... Though she should be expecting a whack with the bat if she kept on talking like that .

Eeeeeeergh

Lislchen 10-10-2010 09:58 AM

This was going to be one looooooooong conversation. Sigh! At first it seemed, nobody was going to answer his question or react to it in some way, and when Cam finally did speak up it wasn't exactly anything satisfying either. "Don't talk to me like that, okay?!" Jeremy gave Cameron a rather stern look before adding, " I do have a reason for you both to be here. If you like it or not. And I'm well aware that you didn't smack the ball at on purpose." He hoped as much. No, she definitely hadn't done it on purpose. Right?

Rubbing his forehead absentmindedly, the 32 year old chose his words carefully. He didn't want them to attack each other again after all. "It does have something to do with the incident in my class, however." Just not with Cameron hitting the ball but rather Trixie's reaction. "Tell me, Trixie, why did you-" Go all psycho? "-why did you react so...aggressively? Cameron did apologize after all." He just tried to understand...

Lexers 10-10-2010 10:20 AM

Cameron pouted. Now he was angry at HER. Hmphhhhhh. She kept silent at his question. It was probably a rhetorical one. Probably. She crossed her arm over her chest and eyed him. Fine. She'd keep quiet. Maybe.. for a little while.

Good. He knew it hadn't been on purpose. She'd WANTED to. Blondie would've deserved it, but she didn't. Definitely not. Oliver wouldn't have been pleased.

So .. what were they here for?

An incident that occured in the class? Cam frowned. She didn't recall anything other than the whole bat/head incident. Hmm. That was odd.
What was he on about? She glanced quickly at Trixie before looking back at Jeremy. But his question was curious. She glanced again at the Blonde and chewed on her cheek.

That was a pretty good question.. one Cam probably would've answered for Jeremy, herself.

Lottiepot 10-10-2010 10:30 AM

*Snigger*

Well that was satisfying, Cammy getting told off. The blonde resisted the urge to smirk widely instead keeping it internal. She flickered her eyes over to Cammy momentairily as Jeremy spoke to her, her arms still folded across her chest. At least nothing had been said to her quite yet.

But it wasn't long until a question was asked to her. The sixteen year old took in a deep breath before she answered. Truthfully she didn't really know the answer. Why HAD she just lashed out? But it wasn't good to remain silent so she opened her mouth to speak.

"Because I don't think it was an accident. There is more then one reason for her to want to hit me" she retalliated. Now Cammy could go into detail if she really wanted to. "And..... Something just came over me" she looked down at her lap.

Lislchen 10-11-2010 10:03 PM

BlahBlahBlah! Yes, he had expected Trixie to say something like that. It would have been horrible if she hadn't in fact. If she had tried to attack Cameron even though she believed it had been an accident then she would have had some serious problems...anger management issues. Sam wouldn't be pleased. Well, there was no way to prove that Cam had or hadn't done it on purpose.

Something caught his attenion however. Something else Trixie had said. "You have reasons to smack a baseball at Trixie's head, Cameron?" Jeremy turned to face the red-head curiously, leaning forward slightly as he regarded her expectantly. This was going to be interesting.

Gulp. She looked so ashamed of herself. "Yeah, well, make sure it won't happen again." Obviously. Well, what was he supposed to say? Go on trying to kill people you dislike with baseball bats? Hardly.

Lexers 10-14-2010 05:00 AM

Cameron did NOT appreciate how Trixie was laughing at her. She glared at the table instead of at the blonde. She didn't want to get in trouble - again. Stupid girl.

She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted a bit. Trixie was such a liar. "I did NOT do it on purpose!" And even if she had, it would've served the stupid girl RIGHT! HMPH. It wasn't FAIR! *pouttt*

Did she have reasons? DID SHE HAVE REASONS!? "Of course I'd have reasons to smack a baseball into her head. A million of them. A million and THREE" That was her definitive answer, chyeah? "But I'm not crazed. In fact, I'm sane enough to differentiate want between need. I want to throw a baseball in her direction but I'd get in trouble and my badge is more important to me than my selfish need to hit her with something really, really, really hard."

Man.. she sounded like a psychopath. But that was okay.

"But that's all really irrelevant. I didn't hit her on purpose. If she thinks I did, she's delusional and she's a chaser right? Soo.. likkee... why didn't she catch it?" Cameron paused for dramatic effect, eyeing the Professor. "Orrrr.. did she DELIBERATELY not catch it so she could PRETEND I'd hit her in the head on purpose, then smush my face with the beater's bat so she could render me unconscious so she could steal my -"

And that was where her spiel ended.

Steal her what? Ummmmmmmm...

*awkkkkkkward*

Lottiepot 10-19-2010 04:02 PM

Trixie decided to stare at the Rubber Ducks instead of looking at Jeremy or Cammy. If she looked at either of them she would probably give them a 'look' or something of the sort. Either that or cry because she was techincally in trouble. Though she wasn't getting punished, thank goodness for that.

Erm....Awkward. He was asking her for reasons why she wanted to hit her. A million and three reasons? " Pfft...." They both very well knew that there was only one main reason why she would want to attack her and vice versa. Oliver. Mhmm. Though it was obvious she wasn't going to admit that and quite frankly neither was Trixie. HMPH!

The Blonde simply chose to cross her arms and still GLARE at the poor innocent rubber duckies. Though the temptation to literally give the death glare at Cameron was far too strong for her and just quickly her head flicked around to stare at her and then back at Duckie land.

Right that was it!!! "Well EXCUSE ME, just because I'VE played chaser before doesn't mean that I KNEW it was coming towards me does it?!?! I was looking ELSEWHERE thank you very much..." she snapped. YEAH! In other words she was talking to her group, introductions WERE important and everything.

Errrrrrrrrrrgh!

"I won't" she pulled an innocent face at Prof Jeremy. Yep cos she was definitely an angel. Hehe.

Lislchen 11-03-2010 01:29 PM

Completely lossed in thought, Jeremy was sitting at his desk, playing around with the rubber duck in his hands absentmindedly. What was he supposed to do? If he went back he risked the husband finding out which would leave her without her daddy, even if he wasn't really. Though, he wanted to see her. He had made his mind up about this one and he did, he absolutely did. Jeremy placed his forehead onto his cold mahogany desk to clear his mind when-

BUMP!

- his head jerked back up upon hearing two noises outside his door. Or rather on his door. Had somebody knocked? Though, it WAS a weird way to knock. He slowly got up from his chair - placing the rubber duck on a random spot on his desk - and went over to open the door and look outside.

PatInTheHat 11-03-2010 08:59 PM

It wasn't difficult at all for Arya to slide by the professor and enter his office as he inspected the new 'decorations' on his door. The skipping ceased as she let her eyes wonder around the room, taking note of the differences between these decorations and the one Sir Lawson had. Not too many though, still had books and pictures.

Like all the professor's offices it seemed...

The thing that held her eyes, however, was the glass cabinet filled with...rubber ducks? Moving so that she stood directly in front of the glass cabinet, she confirmed that they were rubber ducks. Explained the duck pillows first lesson. Grin still present, she tilted her head to the side as she examined each duck. "Do you like all ducks or just rubber ones?"

Did he have live ones hidden somewhere else?

Hmm.

Lislchen 11-04-2010 11:49 PM

With a rather amused roll of his eyes, Jeremy followed Arya inside his office and closed the door behind them. Of course. For decoration purposes. Riiiight.

He watched her stop by his glass cabinet while slowly moving behind his desk again to take a seat in his chair. Which was when his eyes fell on the rubber duck his hands had previously been occupied with. It was sitting there, right on top of his desk where he had left it to let Arya in. Forgetting about the Hufflepuff for a moment, Jeremy regarded it for a while, absentmindedly turning it in his hands. Maybe he should send this one to-

"What?" His head jerked towards Arya as he quickly put the rubber duck back onto the desk. "Oh...no, just those. Just the rubber ducks really." He gave her a small grin as he waited for her to state the actual reason for her visit.

PatInTheHat 11-05-2010 04:38 AM

She wanted to poke them. The rubber ducks. But they were detained. Forced to sit behind the glass wall and watch all the bubbly students come and go, not getting any snuggle!love.

Vaguely aware of the man moving to sit behind his desk, her leaned forward a bit until her nose was only inches away from the glass. But she was not touching. She only leaned back when he answered her, eyes tearing away from the ducks to settle on him.

Just rubber ducks? Shame. Real duck were so much more awesome. "You should get a real duck." Or maybe she would get one for him. Hmm.

Making short work of skipping to the comfy chair in front of his desk, she hopped into it, grin matching his. "Why just the rubber ones?" Her eyes flicked to the one occupying his desk. His favorite maybe.

Lislchen 11-09-2010 11:02 PM

...

He should get..."A real duck?!" Jeremy blinked at the girl a couple of times in suprise. She wasn't serious, was she? A duck was so...animal-y. It was going to move around and stuff. He would have to have Maya around at all times, just in case. Since that was probably impossible, it was a definite no. "Nah, what am I supposed to do with a duck?" He replied with a small shake of his head, a grin playing around his lips.

He noticed her gaze briefly drifting off to the rubber duck on his desk, which caused his smile to freeze on his face for a moment. Err. Snatching it away with what he hoped was a genuinely casual smile, he put it into one of the drawers of his desk. "Oh, just some weird hobby of mine, really." Jeremy answered her question as he leaned back in his chair.

PatInTheHat 11-16-2010 03:17 AM

"A real duck," she repeated with a small nod. Grin forming on her face at his reaction. Did he think it impossible to house a duck in his office? Cause it wasn't. Not to her. And especially not with magic. If they could change a classroom into a maze or put grass in for soccer, certainly he could put in a few things for a duck. "It could keep you company," Cause from what she could see, it was just him in the office. Him and his rubber ducks. "Like a dog or cat....only not them. A different kinda pet." Nod.

And she could help him pick out this new pet duck. Mmhmm.

Her eyes lingered on the spot where the rubber duck had sat before drifting to the professor. If there was any oddness in his reaction to her staring at the duck it went unnoticed by the young girl. "Kinda weird," she responded, grin still present as her eyes flicked to the case of rubber ducks. "But not too weird. I used to collect stickers." That wasn't weird like rubber ducks, but it was a collection. A big collection.

Lislchen 11-24-2010 05:52 PM

For Jeremy, 'A duck to keep him company' translated to 'an animal to always be around and annoying him until he would throw it out of the window'. They could fly right? And if not, he wasn't that high up. Okay, it would probably be easiest - and best for the duck - not to get one in the first place. "I'm not much of an...animal person to be honest." Maybe Arya should get Maya a duck or maybe HE should get Maya a duck. Heh.

Grinning slightly in relief as Arya seemed to have missed his putting the baby!rubberduck away, Jeremy nodded slowly at her agreeing. "I know right? But I've always done it, always since...well, always really." Since his granddad had died really but that wasn't important. "Stickers? What kind of stickers? Or just...all of them?" He asked curiously, glad to get away from the rubber duck subject.

No turning back now... Or should she? Heart racing, Josephina must have turned it over in her mind SEVERAL times about how she was a foolish woman. She shouldn't have come and she knew it, so why was she still here?

And then the door opened and she saw it... his face and she knew why she had come. "Jeree!!" Fina exclaimed matching his warm smile with one of her own. "Thank you," and she slid into his office, hazel eyes wandering around the room at first. It wasn't every day she wandered into a colleague's office. Actually, she didn't recall EVER doing that when she was in South Africa, except her boss'.

"I ... So ..." This was awkward. Now she was here, but why? Dun, dun, dun "You survived your first term teaching here! Congrats. So any plans over our summer holiday?"

Maybe Arya should get Maya a duck or maybe HE should get Maya a duck.

Arya considered the muggle studies professor's words. As if wondering if he really wasn't an animal person, or if he was just....in denial. Cause if he was just in denial for whatever reasons, she could help change that. After a moment she shrugged her shoulders lightly as she slouched back into the chair. "If you say so." Though her voice betrayed her disbelief. No point in getting into it now when she could always pester talk to him about it all next term.

So he always collected the rubber ducks. That was cool. A little weird. But still pretty cool. "All sorts of stickers." Her own excitement grew and she pushed all thoughts of rubber ducks aside. For now at least. heh. "I like the glitter ones the best cause of how they look when the light hits them, but I pretty much used to collect and them all." Maybe she would do a bit of trading when she returned home, if she had time.

The grin still plastered across his face, Jeremy watched her make her way into his office while he closed the office door behind them. The feast was going to start soon so hopefully this wouldn't take too long. He was starving. Heh.

Gesturing towards the vacant seats he regarded her in anticipation of finding out why she had come to visit him. She herself it seemed wasn't so sure about this either. Or at least she seemed to be nervous about it. Which was weird...Fina at a loss of what to say? In the end, she did say something, causing Jeremy's grin to become more amused than ever. "Yeah...go me, I guess." What was this about? Was it really that big an accomplishment that he wasn't going to quit and/or be thrown out after one term?

The holidays. "Oh, well, no, not really...visit my family I guess, and maybe look for a place to live with my sister." Because that was just a brilliant idea. Why hadn't he thought of that earlier? Al couldn't stay at the Leaky Cauldron forever after all. "Why? You got any specific plans?" Involving him maybe? A glance at the clock made him change the subject for a moment though. "I think we should go down to the feast. It's time." He grinned at her, making an After you sort of gesture with his hand.

Josephina could not help but feel herself continue to grin his present; his own grin was contagious as was his overall goofiness. But it wasn't like the quirky, bad goofy; rather this was the just general silly and having fun goofy.

She shook her head when he offered her a vacant seat though. She hadn't been planning on staying long as they did have a feast to attend. Imagine if she kept the Zook here too long that he missed his own first end-of-term feast as Professor! That would be horrible. "Yes, go you." Now whether or not he'd return, that was up to him, but she had the vague suspicions that he was well received by the students. It would be nice to not have much change among her colleagues, Fina decided, as in the term when she herself came, she was one of six new professors.

Visit his family? Wasn't he from America? Well she guessed that would only be natural for him to want to do that. "Are you ... close with your sister?" Fina asked hesitantly. "No... no plans. I rarely make plans, but more just let it happen. It's the curse of being an Arithmancer, I suppose. Let life take its course, because generally it will follow that of your numbers," she mused throwing her hands up for effect. Oh... the feast already? But she wasn't ready yet! Well technically she was as she had worn decent shoes for a change, as well as a casual black dress. But that was besides the point.

"Um... wait just one moment, Jere," she pressed upon his impatience, she smiled slightly mysteriously as she opened her handbag. "I was thinking and um... I wanted to give you this." After what seemed like eternity in her trying to hem and haw and get the words out, she finally said them and handed the set to him. Which naturally was salt and pepper shakers, but that wasn't the BIG DEAL about it. On the pepper shaker, was a single engraved word: Pepperfina. And the shakers? The pepper shaker was shaped like a number seven, while the salt? A five.

"They're shaped like our destiny numbers too." Fina added quietly as an after thought.

Oh, good, it seemed she hadn't intended to stay long as she declined his offered seat. Heh, yes, go him or something. Whatever this was abou- "Hang on, you're not leaving are you?!" Jeremy stared at her from where he was standing, mentally willing her to say no. Why did this remind him so much of a goodbye? A real one. Hopefully it wasn't.

He raised his eyebrows at her slightly in confusion as it seemed she was a little taken aback by his relationship to his sister. "Err...yes? Something wrong with that?" Somehow he couldn't quite keep his voice from sounding a little bit defiant when he said that. This was perfectly normal. He didn't like living on his own, and he doubted Al did too.

She could read all that in the numbers? "So...what do my numbers say about my future then? The near future preferably." Jeremy grinned broadly at her, while tugging at his tie to straighten it. He had to look good for the end of term feast after all. He was just about to walk to the door so they could leave when Fina's words stopped him.

Turning around he gave her an anticipating smile and found himself being handed...salt and pepper shakers? "Oh...wow." Jeremy couldn't quite keep his eyes off the gift, turning it in his hands, running his index finger over the fine engraving. "Thanks." At this his hazel eyes finally flickered back up at Fina, and his lips curled up into a grin before he took a step towards her and gave her a hug. Yes, because that was the only way he could express his gratitude at the moment.

"Destiny, eh?" He repeated quietly as he let go of the woman again, his eyes once again on the shakers. Him and supposed 'destiny' weren't exactly on speaking terms at the moment.

OH goodness no!! How could Jeremy suggest such a thing!! "Merlin no! At least I don't think so," Fina exclaimed the first part but the second was a quieter add-on. "This is just a temporary goodbye, except well you and Di are the first people that I actually feel like I'm going to sincerely miss this summer." Okay that was SUCH a weird admittance, but they were being truthful with each other now. No evasion or following or random!fun!nicknames. It was just them.

And Jeremy being taken aback. Nothing wrong with that, but just strange. "No. It's just... my sisters and I, we're not that close. It must be nice." Fina confessed looking down at the ground and then up at the clock. They really needed to get going.

Figures! Anytime she started babbling about letting things happen or being an Arithmancer, people always wanted to know what their future was. The thing was that she had no idea of his birthday, so she couldn't tell his life path number. "It's hard to really say because the only number I worked out of yours was your Destiny number... Which as a five, it means about change. Embracing opportunity and following your curiosity. Just go with it... embrace the change."

And speaking of change ... was the gift too much? A small flush crept to her cheeks as he turned the shakers over in his hands and then before she could prevent it, she felt his arms around her. And she instinctively put her arms around him and patted him gently for a moment. "Of course. You were one of my first friends at Hogwarts." Truth, from both students and Professor days.

"If you prefer, expression number," she informed him. "But anyway, shall we head out to the great hall? I do believe we have a feast to catch." She grinned and exited the office first and in pursuit of Hall on one level down.
