I am part of the sun, as my eye is part of me.
You can see this inscribed, in small, silver letters, along the round knocker of the dark door - if you look closely. Step inside, and find that Davina Markovic's office is a circular chamber, carpeted and with a huge window - always thrown open - that offers a spectacular view of the grounds, and portions of the school's towers and turrets.
Inscribed on the window-sill that protrudes outwards - in small, silver letters that are only visible if you go up to the window, and peek outside - are the words: That I am part of the earth my feet know perfectly, and my blood is part of the sea.
To the left, is a tall bookshelf, elegant, clearly old, and greater in width, than in height. The books it encompasses are stacked in perfect order, by alphabet and then size. Next to this item of furniture is a beautiful mantelpiece - huge-sized runes scattered across most of it - that sports two goldfishes, in a goldfish-shaped bowl. Sometimes, the top of the mantelpiece catches the light that pours in from the window; and these words light up, inscribed in tiny letters along its curve:
There is not any part of me that is alone and absolute, except my mind.
The rest of the office space is taken up by a large desk, an antique piece that has more drawers-within-drawers, and compartments-within-compartment, than you - or Davina herself - can count. Behind it, is a high-backed, deep black chair; in front, two, smaller ones. Davina, seated behind the desk, can read the following words, stamped on the dark edge:
... and we shall find that the mind has no existence by itself -- it is only the glitter of the sun on the surfaces of the water.

Ok Riley reeaaaallllly needed to use the restroom, like NOW!!!!! He hadn't gone in any of the other ones in the school due to his lack of knowing where they were. He had been content with running up the seventh floor everyday to use the one in the Common Room but now he was running all the way from the Grounds and there had to be one around here somewhere.
Finally rounding the corner he saw a single door near the Ancient Runes classroom he knocked on it and then waited for someone to yell that it was occupied or he would be bursting if not. He thought it was an individual loo. He continued to hop on the spot as he waited.

Oh the horror!!! Why did this have to happen to him?! Could she stop looking at him now? He just wanted to crawl up in a corner and die from embarrassment right now. He stood there for another few seconds unsure if his voice would ever work again.
Then she asked what year he was in. Oh great, his puny size comes up again. "Um..I'm a f-fifth year, ma'am." he said with a voice so uncharacterically small for his usual comanding demeanor . "I am guessing this isn't the..." he couldn't even finish, the huge wave of self-consciousness crashed on the Gryffindor again. Rhea sucked at Runes! She absolutely sucked at it and so she felt it appropriate to find the runes professor and give her a heads up on her situation, so she didn't think that she like had the brain of a troll or something when she went to class. Why did she choose Runes again? Meh, for the life of her she would never know, she just did because she never gave up, which is why she needed to see the professor with the really cool name hehe. But then she heard chatting and she wondered if the professor was busy or not...meh...
She knocked hesitantly, if the professor was indeed busy maybe she just wouldn't hear the knock and that would be cue enough for Rhea to come back at a different time.

A noodle . . . plastic decor one . . . bounced on the floor just like a real one. Almost like a snake, it glided across the floor and spun around just a bit . . . as though maybe showing off its own abilities. Twirl here and a twirl there, it danced and spun for several moments, before skidding to a halt on Professor Markovic's desk. It's end popped off and a note slide out of it before its end popped right back on again and it resumed a spiral shape on the desk. Unfolding itself, it read:

Kurumi approached the door feeling a bit nervous about coming to the professor's office just to ask for a cookie recipe. Maybe she should have thought of a rune related question? Seeing as she knew very little about runes, except for the things covered in class and what she had read in her textbook, she was having a hard time coming up with anything more than "what do all the sweets from class have to do with runes?" Perhaps there was a rune that represented sweet things? A cookie rune perhaps?
Still trying to think of something more to ask than "can I please have your cookie recipe?", Kurumi reached out and knocked on the door gently two times.

Di blinked, only to realize something... that must be from Fina! Smiling lightly, she allowed the plastic item to come to a rest and then, picking up the note, skimmed through it.
Only to hear a knock at the door.
Sliding the note and noodle, both, into a drawer, she looked up. That must be another student.
"Please do come in," Di called out.

Kurumi slowly opened the door and peeked her head in. Did this professor have a thing about taking shoes off or looking at the ground when being spoken to or other such things? She instead stood awkwardly in the doorway.
" G-good evening, professor. I'm Kurumi Hollingberry," Kurumi said bowing slightly - she probably didn't need to introduce herself seeing as they had had two classes together already. She still hadn't thought up a good rune question to ask along with the cookie recipe. Professor Markovic didn't seem like Dragon Lady, so maybe that was OK for them to just chit chat a little and for her to get that cookie recipe. She had even brought her cookie recipe journal with her where she had glued various recipes into its contents. " Um..." now came the real awkward part. " I was just wondering if you happened to have that cookie recipe we talked about in class?"

"It's the third recipe in the book," she said, as she placed it on the desk so that the Gryffindor could pick it up. "I hope you'll enjoy testing it out, Miss Hollingberry."
