Sigh. He might as well get started as if this was a real person, and lookit! He'd been right all along, his dummy was a he! Or an It, to be more precise, since it was made of plastic, you know. But, yeah, so, he tried to pretend to be searching for anything that may give away the fact that the dummy could breathe, because that was taught in class, unfortunately, the dummy was not breathing, of course. Well, if he doesn't answer to the poking, and he's not breathing, then he'd need...CRP? RPC? PCR? CPR, of course, he knew that! Treyen should've read his notes instead of coming entirely unprepared for this. The little he remembered wasn't going to cut it, but he had an idea. The Huffie boy placed both hands of the dummy's chest and started doing some compression, counting numbers in his head and stopping from time to time to check on the dummy's breathing. It was all the same, though. He could still try one last thing before help came, but as much as liked Zookara's classes there was NO WAY Treyen was kissing this dummy. NO WAY. He straightened himself up, and shrugged, "Dead" he said, looking at Zookara. Yeah, the dummy was dead, like him for failing. |
As her foot scooted the scarf off the dummy's head, Evelyn decided to liven up this acting scene for a second and GASPED loudly while covering her mouth in shock. Oh the horror! IT…IT WAS… IT WAS PLASTIC! *girlish scream* Deciding to cut the dramatics early, the Slytherin scoffed and rolled her eyes before going down on her knees and staring at the darn thing. Well, for a plastic dummy, it was alright. It kinda looked like Truebridge in a way, but Truebridge was obviously waaaay better than this thing. Maybe she could call it Mr. T. Seemed suitable enough, in fact, it was brilliant! Well Mr. T, let's see what it going on here. Resisting the urge to poke it with her wand, the fourth year stared at the dummy for a moment before…poking it's side with her finger instead. "Hello?" she whispered, the word coming out more like a hiss than anything. "Are you alive?" Hmmm? Course it wasn't. Though she was a bit hopefully that the dummy would move, flinch, blink, groan, SOMETHING so she didn't feel stupid talking to a plastic person. Sighing audibly, she stared at its dark red jacket like thing that was supposedly there to make him look more real, but really all it did was remind her of Josh. She should probably hurry up with this so she could go see him before the next final came up. "Hello?" Poking it once more, Evelyn leaned over the dummy, placing one hand on it's other side to keep herself balanced, and examined the things face. Eyes were closed, skin was cold Yea... Sitting back up slightly, she was beginning to wonder if she should actually do the thing where you push on the victim's chest to help them breathe or whatever that does, but...Merlin's beard it was PLASTIC! She couldn't pretend or waste her breath or arm muscles on something that was never going to wake up. Seriously? How could she even get into character!? The dummy was probably hollow on the inside, or made with stuffing of some sort. Or more plastic. Unless it had a plastic heart then it really would be dead. Standing up, Evelyn straightened out her uniform shirt and skirt before fixing her socks and turning around to the professor. DRAMATICS TIME! "Professor, I did the best I could do." For a plastic dummy that is. *sniffle* "It seems like Mr. T was gone before I could even got here." Poor Mr. T, he had his whole life ahead of him. Hopefully Miss B wouldn't hunt her down for this. Eesh, definitely don't want that. *inch...inch* She could leave now right? |
Salander was staring at the dummy as he listened to the Professor's instructions. Meh, if it were up to him he would call for an ambulance. No he's not lazy, its just that the poor sap would probably stand a better chance of surviving rather than be treated by him. But this was a practical so..... The Slytherin lad took off the scarf from the dummy's face. It looked like.... a dummy. Like one of the crash dummies they use to test cars with. "Professor Z couldnt you find a pretty one for me?" he muttered under his breath. Or at least a dummy that looked female. He gave the dude dummy a good slap on the shoulder. Oops, that may have been a little too hard. He made an effort to redo it, giving a more gentle tap and spoke under his breath "Dude are you ok..." going through the motions of talking to the "person" to check if he's conscious. He then mechanically proceeded to feel the pulse on the dummy's wrist or feel a breath. He started to feel silly. Of course he wasnt expecting the dummy to actually have a pulse or draw breath. Although he kinda wished it did. That way he's done with test. He then loosened whatever garments that looked like it constricted the dummy. He began to wonder if this part actually ever help anybody in reality. He tilted the head back slightly to check for anything that might be blocking the air passages. "Nothing blocking the air passages." he stated aloud. Then he started to wince, he knew what the next step was going to be. Why didnt he have a female dummy again? Bah just do it! He pressed his lips onto the dummy's mouth and blew in, then shifted towards the dummy's torso quickly pressing his other hand onto his fist and pressed them down on the dummy's chest repeatedly, counting about 5 times before moving back and blowing into the dummy's mouth again. He repeated the motion of pumping the chest with his fist and just as he hovered back towards the dummy's mouth he stopped short, staring at the dummy dude's blank expression. Ok thats it he's done. His lips arent made for dudes, rubber dummies or real ones. Salander stood up and looked to the other man "Will that do Professor?" Oh you better say yes..... |
Gingerly, Emmy removed the scarf, and immediately wished she hadn't, for the face beneath it was painfully familiar. It was her longterm Muggle sweetheart, Sam. Examining his face, she realised he must have been beaten up pretty badly - he was covered in bruises, and blood had trickled from a nasty gash on his temple. Why him, professor?! she thought angrily, for, truth be told, she was very fond of this Muggle... She did her best to clean him up, then checked his vital signs once more. Still nothing, no pulse, no breathing, no choice but to give CPR. Typical, she thought, I've been longing to kiss him for about four years, and now my chance is here - and he won't even know! Could have wished for better circumstances, too... She could tell he was slipping away fast; if she didn't act soon, it would be too late. She put her hands gently on his chest, and eventually found the right point. She began compressions, counting in her head. Then she tipped his head back, held his nose with one hand and steadied his chin with the other. Hesitantly, she breathed in, then bent over to deliver her lungful of precious oxygen. Several times, she repeated this process, until finally, she heard a tiny breath, the ghost of a heartbeat. "Sam? Can you hear me?" she hoped he would morph back into a lifeless, faceless dummy, but no such luck. He began to cough, and groan, then finally, he opened his eyes. |
Freya walked into the room where the practical part was held. She hoped that they gonna do something like that baseball thing like their first lesson but unfortunately that wasn't inside the room. She saw dummy lying on the floor. 'Why was that dummy lying on the floor?' and then before she could even asked the question, Professor Zookara already gave it to the class. "Okay now what should I do first?" she asked herself. She walked slowly approaching the dummy. She saw the dummy face was covered by a scarf. She removed the scarf from the dummy face. The dummy looks like a dummy. Well. What was she expected anyway? She tried to poke the dummy several time "Hello there. Can you hear me, Mr.Dummy?" she asked while her finger still poking the dummy. No respond at all. She let out a small sighed. "Mr. Dummy puuuuhhhlease wake up." she poked the dummy again. But the dummy still lay there unmoved. What she had to do next? 'Oh yeah right I have to detect the pulse' she thought. She grabbed the dummy left hand and checked was there still any pulse or not and Thank Merlin that the dummy still had pulse. Okay now she knew that the dummy still had a pulse she had to figure out something to bring the dummy back and FAST..!! "CPR..!!" she said suddenly. Oh how could she forget that? "Okay. I'm going to do the CPR now Mr.Dummy." she said. She hoped that the dummy didn't eat anything that had a horrible smell. That would be YUCK..!! She took a deep breath before doing the CPR. She used her left hand to pinch his nose and her right hand to hold the dummy mouth. "Here goes nothing" she placed her mouth over the dummy's and gave the dummy a few breath. Then she placed her hand over the dummy chest and began to pump the dummy chest. "Come on dummy. Wakie..Wakie.." she said still pumping the dummy chest. She repeated the process several times. She saw the dummy opened his eyes |
Kita unravelled the scarf and looked down at the dummy's head. Nope... it didn't look weird at all. So why was she so nervous? "Can you call the ambulance please?" she asked to an imaginary someone who was meant to be standing near her, "I've got a man who seems to be in his mid twenties lying here. I can't find his pulse and he doesn't seem to be breathing either. Tell them to come to... Hogwarts? And can you make sure to come back and tell me what they say please!" Yeah, she knew she wasn't meant to be doing this but ah well. It was something she would have done had this been real and it's not like the ambulance were coming. Were they? Kita interlocked her hands so that her left hand was on top of her right hand. "Right, so, sir," she said, "I'm going to compress down on your chest 30 times." Did that even make sense? 1, 2, 3, ... she thought, making sure to go along to a steady beat. That is how the heart beat right? Steadily? 16, 17, 18, ... The counting continued as she put a lot of force into pushing down on the dummy's chest. It seemed to be getting harder. Her hands were aching and she could feel the blood rush to her head as her hair came out of its bun. 28, 29, 30! Kita let go and looked down at the man's mouth. It was clean right? "Well, it doesn't seem as if you've woken up yet," surprise, surprise, "So i'm going to... breath out into your mouth?" She took a deep breath and bent down over the man's head and pinched his nose whilst making sure that his head was still tilted back. Her lips met his plastic ones and she blew out into his mouth. She sat up a little and repeated the breathing process. "Right," she said, "It's back to the 30 compressions!" 1, 2, 3, ... The counting had started once again as she started the compressions. It wasn't so bad the second time. She was getting used to it. 16, 17, 18, ... And... it looked like she had spoken too soon. Her hands, more specifically her right wrist, was hurting. She let it pass, thinking it was just the fact that she was compressing the dummy's chest. 28, 29, 30, ... She let go and looked down at the dummy. This wasn't good. She bit her lip and frowned a little before taking in a deep breath. Pinching his nose, she bent down over the man's head and breathed out. Resurfacing, she repeated the process. And he still wasn't waking up! Was she doing something wrong? She sighed and interlocked her hands once again. She placed it on the man's chest when, suddenly, she noticed a movement. It wasn't coming from any of the other students but from the dummy himself. She gasped in delight as she looked at his eyes and noticed them flicker. A groan can be heard coming from his mouth Kita smiled. "Welcome back, sir," she said. Did this mean that she had passed? That wasn't something she had cared about now. She had managed to revive a |
I'll reply to the other posts in my next post. ;) OOC: I will leave the thread open for you to finish up the task etc. for another 2 hours. Then it will be closed, so get your posts in. ^__^ Jeremy was moving around the classroom, watching the students' work and occasionally taking notes on what they did well and what they...well, didn't do so well. Or omitted. It was quite amusing to see what the dummies the students had chosen looked like. Especially along with the students' facial expression upon revealing the faces. Heh. Text Cut: aussiegirl Arriving where Mia's dummy was lying, he couldn't help but grin at its face...it was a clown. A dead clown. Or at least an unconscious one. That's what it looked like anyway. Jeremy wouldn't have used a real clown obviously...that would have just been plain scary. Oh, and dangerous too of course. For the clown. With a smile at the girl, Jeremy flicked his wand at the dummy, causing its chest to move as if it were breathing. Yes, he wanted this to be authentic. "Well done, Mia. You may leave. Good luck on the rest of your finals." He grinned at her one last time before turning to the other students nearby. Text Cut: Herminny Chloe was doing really well with her dummy, making sure they always felt comfortable. Standing behind her so he was hidden from the girl's view, Jeremy induced the occasional response from the dummy with his wand before finally taking a step forward. "Help is here now, actually. We'll get you to a hospital now, Sir." He said towards the dummy - he was just playing along - before chuckling lightly and turning his attention back to Chloe with a smile. "Well done, you may leave now, good luck on your exams." Text Cut: Jason Potter Weasley Taking a few notes on his clipboard, Jeremy watched Rex perform CPR on the She!dummy until he decided it was enough and made the 'breathing' come back. "Well done, Rex. I'd suggest talking to the victim as soon as you notice they've regained their consciousness - or even before that, they might hear you. Just so they don't panic and know what's going on." He suggested with a smile before pointing his wand at Rex' dummy making it disappear. "You may leave, now. Good luck on the rest of your exams." Smiling he turned to the next student. Text Cut: Roselyn&Lockhartian Evelyn was doing really well - well, quite well anyhow  - when...she stopped?! O_o Jeremy waited a few moments for her to continue with the next step, which would have been performing CPR, but nothing. Had she forgotten what came next? No, she seemed to be a clever witch and besides, most of his last lesson was on that so. ... "You are now allowed to declare anybody dead, you're not a doctor." With a shake of his head he turned away as he heard Treyen playing doctor too. "You neither, Treyen, even if it seems TOTALLY obvious that the person is dead you have to perform first-aid until a doctor declares them dead...unless you would endanger yourself of course." He explained, raising his eyebrows at Evelyn again who it seemed was inching towards the door. Don't you dare leave. Text Cut: feltbeatslover22 It...was weird seeing himself there. Yet at the same time quite amusing. Funny how Trixie had got the himself!dummy. xD She couldn't have known which one was which. Watching her closely he grinned broadly at her attempts at saving him...or the dummy!him. Either way, it was amusing to watch. "Hai!" Jeremy replied from behind her, the smile on his lips audible in his voice as he moved around the girl and into her view. "Well done, Trix. So I guess I can only hope that if I'm ever in need of first-aid you will be the one to find me." Err...not the ONLY one obviously but you know. "You may leave now." Grin! Text Cut: sweetpinkpixie Jeremy had been busy vanishing left-over dummies when he heard a faint voice talking to him...or rather attempting to. There wasn't a lot of breath left to talk it seemed. After his hazel eyes had spotted whoever it was, he quickly made his way over to the girl who turned out to be...Kurumi. "No, it won't, it's a dum-" He stopped midsentence however when he noticed the wetness on the girl's cheeks. Was she...crying?! Quickly crouching down next to the Gryffindor he placed his hands over hers which were still frantically trying to make the dummy breathe with chest compressions. Softly tugging them away from the plastic!victim he gave them a squeeze before letting them go again. "It's okay, Kurumi, you're doing great. I'm-" Behind his back he gave his wand a quick flick. "Look, it's breathing again!" Yes, he knew she wasn't that little anymore but still, it was the first thing that came to his mind. "See, mission accomplished, you may leave now. Well done." He smiled at her warmly while getting up again. Text Cut: Steelsheen N'aww...he wanted a prettier one? Jeremy was pretty sure that the victim/dummy/person wouldn't be too happy about hearing that. He didn't voice his thoughts however so as to not disturb Salander from what he was doing. And he was doing it well. Very well. Watching the boy, Jeremy couldn't refrain from chuckling lightly as he flicked his wand at the boy's dummy after he had stopped with the CPR, causing its eyes to fly open and sit up slightly, flinging its arms around the Slytherin boy. "I think it's grateful that you saved it." He commented with a grin before giving the boy an approving nod. "Well done, Salander, you may leave now, that is, if Mr. Clingy here lets you." Heh. Text Cut: Canoir Greengrass Jeremy couldn't quite refrain from chuckling in amusement at how Freya was talking to the dummy. It was just too cute. "Yes, well done, it's always good to keep on talking to the victim. It might hear you afterall and it ususally calms them down and prevents them from panicking. So, well done." Heh, not that she had to tell them to wake up but whatever. "You may leave, good luck on any exams you might still have." He grinned before with a quick flick of his wand he let the dummy disappear. |

The dummy may want Treyen for playing Quidditch, if he made it out alive. Since the Huffie boy was certainly not doing the kissing part, "But I can wait until help comes and then listen to the doctor or healer say they're dead" that was all he could do, really. Because he'd check if the dummy was conscious, he'd check for pulse and breathing, he'd even done a few compressions...and the dummy remained the same...soooo...that's why he declared it dead, now that they couldn't do that, well, he'll just wait for the qualified people to do so. :D |

Kurumi calmed down just a little when she felt the professor’s hands on hers and her heart and stomach began turning circles when he took them off her dummy. This was it, she had failed. Not only that, but she had actually killed Harry Potter! Kurumi felt the tears welding up again until…she saw the chest of him slowly begin moving up and down. HE WAS BREATHING! Kurumi’s expression immediately went from one of a small puppy that had been kicked to a kid waking up Christmas morning to see all the gifts left by Santa. HE WAS BREATHING! Kurumi beamed and turned to Professor Zookara – she probably could have blinded him from the glare and sparkle in her smile. “I really did it!” she squeaked and tried to control the urge to hug-tackle him right there on the spot. No, she had not seen him perform the simple charm to make the dummy move nor did it register in her head that earlier she had known that the person before her was made of plastic and therefore would never really start breathing again. “Thanks for a great year, Professor Zookara,” she smiled bowing first and then shaking his hand. “I am looking forward to next term.” where maybe I can draw some more stick figures… Will the spring back in her step, she hugged plastic!Harry and then skipped back over to her things. Picking them up, she began to skip towards the door and made sure to turn around once more before leaving to wave good-bye. |
