As you enter the Hogwarts library, what appears to be a cozy nook in one corner of the main area appears most appealing to the Hogwarts student interested in his or her reading. Upon further inspection, you see that this comfy area is larger than it had seemed on first sight. Spread throughout the room are clusters of armchairs, surrounding magical reading lamps giving off different levels of light, all of which are appropriate for reading. These clusters are perfect for study groups or group projects.
Here and there are a few lone armchairs for the student who enjoys quiet solitary reading, and a number of sofas for any that would rather stretch out and put their feet up. Be sure not to muddy them up though!
A soft glow of light is present throughout the room, with more magical lamps in each possible reading space. Be sure not to make much noise and respect some students' wishes to read in quiet.
One last note, no food or drink in the reading lounge.
Sammy raised an eyebrow at Katie. She had heard some pretty horrible stories, so "that's good." she said happily about the Fee thing. "try me, Shae can go if you don't want her here" she said, before adding "no offence Seamus, it's a family thing" quickly
"none taken Samuel" Shae said before standing up. "I'm gonna see if I can make it back to the common room without getting lost" she said before starting to walk off "seeya guys" she said before walking out of the library

"Don't worry, I'll tell you later" Katie said, she wanted to just hang out right now, "So how are you?" Katie asked Sammy.

How did you explain to someone that you needed help with everything? Cameron couldn't even begin to sort out the numerous inequalities in her life. She didn't like the fact that this was their last year - that meant decisiosn. BIG decisions and most importantly change. For the most part, Cameron was a highly unadaptable person. She was stubborn and she liked things to continue in the way they'd started. Now.. they were leaving school and things had to change. At the height of her worries was the fact that she barely saw Oliver. It seemed rather shallow on the surface, but what she was really afraid of was that the day would come when Oliver would realise what perhaps his funny brain had been missing for a while and leave because she wasn't the prettiest or the smartest nor perhaps even the funniest. And while she knew it would come, it was difficult to set yourself up to watch someone you love leave you. The past summer had been difficult enough - she had no idea how she would cope.
"..Just life, really." She didn't try to explain - she would end up saying something she didn't want to say. She shrugged.
Fine. She'd never much liked that word. Fine. It didn't really swing positively or negatively - as was probably the point. It was just an answer. "That's good." Was it?
You sort of didn't expect someone to give you a piece of parchment that outlined your own supposed 'love life'. Especially when that someone was your boyfriend. Even less expectedly - when everyone else knew.. except you.
She didn't know whether to scream in frustration, cry from embarassment or laugh at the stupidity of the statement. So she just sat there. Her mind didn't even think to worry about how Oliver might've reacted to this. It was content to continue it's internal rant of self-pity and *cringing*. She felt Oliver's hand over her's and her eyes turned to look at him. Okay? It wasn't BLOODY okay. It was LYING.
And what did Cameron hate more than compliments?
BLOODY WELL LYING.
"How.. could they?" But despite the inner fury, she felt foolish enough for having thought the current gossip going around was about someone else made it embarassing enough to whisper.
Oliver. She could be soo selfish at times. But his answer brought her back to HIM. HE was doubting her. His answer - hesitant and curious - didn't help her insecurities. She stood abruptly and then he repeated it. He wasn't SURE. He just didn't THINK she would do that. TO him? Was he so convinced that she was crazy, that he actually thought she'd lost all morals and was off cheating on him?
Did he think she would do that to someone she loved?
There was a huge difference between THIS and what had happened over the summer. Why would she actively seek out to hurt him? She loved him. And Raiden? Oh for merlin's sake. The Prefect was DATING someone.
Her brown eyes remained steady on him as he looked away. That had hurt. The distrust and suspicion. He couldn't even look at her. She frowned and pushed the wooden chair in, pushing her spare parchment into a haphazard pile.
And another question, harsh brown eyes levelled on his.
"I can't believe.. you know what? Join the masses. Believe what they print. I couldn't care less. You and the rest of the school."
But she did care. Not about the school or her teachers or ANYONE. She cared about him. Taking the parchment and her quill, she left the aparecium beside him and left.
"Keep it. It's a freakingamazing read."
Just life? What did that actually mean? Oliver looked at her searchingly, into those brown eyes of hers. Why couldn't she say what she was thinking to him? It pained him to think that there was something going on that she couldn't talk to him about. But then, to force it out of her would make him a hypocrite wouldn't it? ...So he just nodded.
The hesitation after handing Cam the parchment was almost unbearable for the Snake. He gulped dryly as the girl froze. As he took her hand, he saw the look in her eyes and feared she was going to MURDER him. He didn't know what else to say.. he was hurting here. His twitchy mind was going through all the possibilities about HOW that 'rumour' could have started. There must have been SOMETHING to it, right? Even if it was just a friendly embrace. Oliver hadn't a clue that Cam and Raiden even KNEW each other, let alone--GUH! Had she deliberately not mentioned him? Was that a sign of guilt?
Oh... gawd!
She kept her eyes on him and he broke her gaze, unable to hold it, shaking his head. He only wanted a straight answer. A yes or a no. He would believe Cam if only she reassured him that nothing was going on. He NEEDED to be reassured sometimes. He might act like nothing phased him but a motherly cuddle and a 'there, there, there's nothing going on' would have silenced that paranoid voice in his head and made this all better.
She was so mad. He watched her turn to leave, feeling utterly helpless. “Cameron?”
She was almost out the door..
“What if it was me, huh?” He raised his voice only slightly but it echoed around the silent library. “Me and another girl. Would you not need to be reassured?”
And then she was gone and he frowned deeply, snatching up the parchment and balling it in his fist. He didn't do subtle very well did he? And it seemed Cam needed someone who could walk on egg shells around her. Oliver just wasn't capable of doing that.
The sentence seemed stupid now that she'd said it. Just life. HMPH. She sounded like a stupid uppity proverb spouting life coach. Man.. what a stupid thing to say. Made her sound all emo and depressive.
"I don't know.." She confessed. "I guess.. y'know, the fact that we're leaving this year.. and I've no idea what I'm going to do after and NEWTS.. maaaaan, this tournament thingummy. I don't really know what to do first.." She felt like people were pulling her on all sides. It was exhausting.
- This was unbelievable. Her stomach twisted into knots. She was so.. embarassed. It was stupid, where could someone get the idea that Raiden and her were dating? They hadn't even spoken - save for the DADA game and then at the respective Triwizard conferences..
Waaaaaaaaait a minute.
*gasp*
THE DADA GAME!
*facepalm*
Surely someone hadn't taken his weird.. hug/bubblesquirting thing as them in a relationship? Then again.. Kurumi had asked if they were going out.
OHMYGOD.
It hadn't been Kurumi had it? She couldn't imagine the sweet little Gryffindor doing something like that. No..
All the while, Cameron had been focusing wholeheartedly on the effects this would have on herself. She'd been zoned out to Oliver's gulping and anxiety.
But when he spoke, her attention snapped to him. How could he even THINK that she'd do something like that? HUH!? Since when was he paranoid enough? THat was usually her field of experise. Y'know the whole.. scared of spiders, people.. bookdust. That sorta thing. This wasn't really like him..
And being angry made her do and say stupid things. Example One - now.
This was what HE'd done to her. She could HEAR her name and if she walked out.. she wouldn't be able to do that. She turned just as he caught up with her.
His question sort of stung. Not in that 'ouch' way but in the realisation that someone else was right, and you were being a selfish cow.
Yeah. Ouch.
She sort of stared at him. She didn't have a reply. She didn't know what to say. What would she do if it was him? She probably would've dumbly accepted the fact that it was inevitable, cried her heart out, slapped the girl really hard and THEN screamed at Oliver for being a incorrigible jerk and not breaking up with her before hand..
And she would've done ALL of that without actually asking him if it was true.
Well.. *ahem*
Awkward wasn't it, when the tables were turned?
"I would've done something baaaaaaaaad by now.." She mumbled honestly. But that wasn't fair. She was the psycho! Not the normal one.. "But.." She didn't have a defence, really. "I'm sorry.. " Just sorry? No.. she sort of had to explain.
"It just that.. this is a rumour about me and RAIDEN." Did nobody see the stupidity already? "Like.. ME," *points to self* ".. And Raiden." She gestured vaguely to the sky. It was like.. some random, crazy red head and.. one of the most popular guys at their school.
Did nobody see it yet?
".. and it's not like I set out to make a reputation for myself.. and then there's a rumour - which EVERYONE knows about and I didn't know about and.." Wait a minute.. she was still ranting about herself.. she hadn't..
OOPS.
"And I should've listened. But I didn't.. because I'm idiotic like that." And she still hadn't declined the accusation..
Erm. ".. nothing happened by the way.." She interjected quickly. "I think they got the 'idea' that something was happening between us during the game in Defence.. Raiden sort of.. glomped my.." She was making it sound a lot more.. hmph. "He sort of dumped a whole lot of paint on me.. and he was sort of.. hugging.." Wow. Way to make it sound really intimate Cameron.. "But he wasn't really.. cos it was more like a sort of.. like.. lock so I couldn't move?" *facepalm*
Moving on.. "But the rumours crap. I was just shocked.. really, really shocked. I'm like Hermit!Girl.. and I get published 'apparently' dating Raiden. They could've at least said someone half likely.. " But it didn't matter.
"You believe me, right? I mean.. seriously, Oliver. I don't go around telling everyone I love them. Surely that means something? A little trust?" More to the point, she didn't go around making conversation with people in the first place, so being friends was a huge point as well!

Oooh. Someone liked to talk about her city, was it? Evan smiled slightly as he listened to Monique. Yeah, he could see it was wonderful. He cocked his head to one side a little though at the mention of Eiffel Tower. Frowning just a bit, he said "Doesn't it get boring though... Eiffel Tower? I mean, it's just a stack of metal, isn't it?" He remained oblivious to the fact that she simply loved it. He wouldn't like to live in Paris, Bordeaux was better for him. Somewhere seaside.
"Oh no. Not at all." Monique said. "Quite the opposite actually. It is très romantic." she said happily. "Can you just imagine lying on the grass having a picnic with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Nothing is more romantic. That is really what Paris is all about." It was the city of love after all.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."
Alice sat down in one of the comfy chairs that had a little table between it and the next chair. She motioned for Rubiey to sit down next to her and plopped the book down on the table between them.
"This should be interesting," Alice said with a quiet laugh before flipping open the book to the first page.

Rubiey took a seat on the squidgy chair next to Alice, and leaned over to get a better look at the book. "What do you do? Pelt cotton wool at the boy you fancy till he gets so annoyed he agrees to go on a date with you just so yu'll stop?" Rubiey asked, laughing.

Alice laughed. "That would be worth trying, just to see the kind of responses we would get."
Alice skimmed over the first page. "Well it sounds like you take a couple of cotton balls, some hair from the person you are attracted to, and the concoction they have listed here, and pour it into a teapot with water. You let it all go until the water boils, and then pour it out." Alice flipped the page over. "Oh...I guess it will change colors, and the different colors mean different things. Apparently a pastel red color means the person has a strong lust for you." Alice looked up at Rubiey and raised her eyebrows.
"So, what guy's hair should we try and grab?" Alice asked. "Got any crushes?"

Er... Très? What did that mean? Evan guessed something like "so", or "very". Shrugging it off, since it wasn't really important as Monique talked, he imagined the scene. "Yes, it would be nice..." he had to admit after a minute's thought. Then, after another pause, he said "But isn't it rainy there?" Like London?
Alice laughed. "That would be worth trying, just to see the kind of responses we would get."

Rubiey's eyebrows raised as Alice read out the instructions. She laughed when Alice turned. They had the exact same disbelieving expression on their faces. "Umm, no." She laughed. She didn't like anyone like that. "What about you?" She asked.
Brittany walked into the Library Reading louge with her potions book. She really needed to brush up on some potions... wellnot really brush up because she didnt really know any to begin with . But she wasnt going to die a horrible death in that potions classroom just because she didnt know what was in a potion. That professor was crazy scary *shudder*. She sat down at an empty table and cracked open her book.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Alice shrugged. "Not really...although I do know a guy friend that might be willing to donate some hair just to see if it works?" Alice was sure Salander wouldn't mind if she took a little bit of his hair, right? "Do you know any guy friends you could ask?"

"Salander. He's a fourth year Slytherin. I helped him out the other day, so I am sure he'd be okay with it," Alice said, getting excited. "Rex is a good choice too...he definitely seems like he wouldn't mind." Alice thought for a moment. "Who is Adam?"

"Oh, that's nice of you! Perhaps you can teach me how to play Quidditch as well...perhaps when I get over my fear of heights?" Alice said, remembering the horrible incident Rubiey had saved her from at their first flying lesson. "Well why don't I find Salander and ask him, and perhaps you can look for Adam or Rex, and whoever you bump into first, you can ask them? Then we can try it out. Where do you think would be a good place to try it?"
Alice was thinking the girl's bathroom might be discreet enough, but perhaps they would need somewhere a little less crowded.

Oliver frowned a little. Oh he knew how that felt all too well. The thought of leaving school and having to fend for himself out there in the big bad world terrified him to death. “You ever considered sending some examples of your writing to the Prophet? My brother works there you know? I can ask him to put in a good word.. just cos, you said a while ago you were interested in journalism.” But that wasn't the bigger picture was it? “I don't have a clue what I'm going to do.” He mumbled. “I wanna leave home but I can't do that until I have a job. A job which pays alright so I can rent somewhere.” He would love more than anything, to follow Miranda's footsteps and play pro Quidditch, but that was just a dream wasn't it. Pie in the Sky.. it was never going to happen. He was more likely to end up as an assistant in QQS on Diagon Alley. Blehhhh.
“S'gonna be a bit of an anticlimax once it's all over isn't it?” And he didn't just mean the Triwizard. He meant school. Hogwarts was his home and his family and he knew Cameron felt the same way.
Talking that way kinda made him forget why he was here.. that was until he focused back on the parchment and he frowned deeply. The expression so out of place on the Slytherin's child like face.
He was relieved when Cam paused in her steps and turned to face him. Leaving like that would have hurt him like hell. He looked at her apologetically as she merely stared at him, his words obviously sinking in.
He nodded in understanding. “I thought as much.” He mumbled. But? He met her eyes. But what? But... she didn't finish the sentence and apologised instead. “I'm sorry too.” He said honestly. “I'm sorry I doubted you. I jus.. we never see each other these days. You're with the other champions more than me.. with Raiden.”He sighed. It was silly and pathetic and he felt like a total loser confessing that to her.
He smiled a little. “Yeah.. cos you're totally out of his league.” Eh.. sarcasm. But wait.. did that mean if she thought she had a chance with the lad she would go there? Oh my goddd! What had got into the Snake!? He inwardly berated himself for being so needy – was just a good job he had the sense not to ask that question aloud.
He hadn't really thought about how this rumour would effect Cam. He wrapped his arms around her middle, drawing her close to him. “I don't think anyone believes you have a 'reputation.'” He smiled a little at the thought. Like, seriously? Cam? No one thought of her that way. “Not an idiot. We all jump to conclusions sometimes.”
How could he have doubted her for one second. She wouldn't do that to him. He knew it deep down but he just needed to be reassured. Underneath the ego and annoying cockiness, Oliver was nothing but an insecure little boy.
Hermit!Girl. He laughed and it rang musically around the library. “You should meet my brother.” He mumbled. “You two'd get on well.” Although James was a freak and Cam was much more normal than she allowed herself to believe.
He nodded. “I believe you, Cam. Buhhht.. it wasn't that I didn't – it was more that I just needed to hear that it wasn't true... from you, you know?” Yep, he was officially a loser. He nodded. “I'm sorry, 'kay. I trust you.”
Cameron squirmed uncomfortably. The thought of someone judging her work was enough pressure to wither her. She shook her head vigorously. "Nawww.. I have to do it myself. I can't just let you.. " How could she put it without potentially offending him? "I want to get somewhere myself." All her life her parents had known best and it was only last year, she'd finally figured out, that no, they didn't. She was old enough to look after herself and this was something she had to prove to herself. Another thing. Like the Tournament. "I want to get into writing because I'm a good writer. Not because you have particularly kind relatives." Not to mention.. she'd have to work with them.
She frowned as Oliver started to speak. They both had absolutely no idea. She was a little worried at his continued use of the singular. I. Cam frowned deeper. She bit her thumb, nodding at the appropriate times so it seemed like she was listening. But she was suddenly petrified. What if Oliver didn't see her in his future? Merlin.. not like she'd given it much thought herself, but the idea of NOT having him in her future didn't sit well with her. At all. She didn't like the idea of letting him go. Not unless he decided he didn't want her..
That was it, wasn't it? It was just high school. Come graduation day, that creepy dream she'd had a while back would be realised. He'd realise she wasn't all that fantastic and ... she couldn't help the feeling of dread. The sinking feeling in her stomach. She couldn't exactly picture her five year plan. She had no idea where she would be in that amount of time but she didn't want to picture it without Oliver. Sort of. The idea of getting married and having kids before she turned 25, sounded like hell to the redhead but.. seeing some of the world? Getting a job? Maybe with Oliver? She could sort of picture that?
Man.. growing up was crapola.
Anti-climax? She glanced at him fearfully. She was pretty sure the end of the Triwizard tournament wouldn't involve her - she either would've died in one of the tasks beforehand or gotten out. The end of the tournament would be the end of school and that would mean tears and paranoia. The latter would probably cause the tears anyway.
This conversation didn't seem to be the reason he'd approached her.
He frowned and she felt bad for leaving in such a huff. She squirmed at his response. Was she immature? She stood feeling really awkward. They hardly ever did see each other. But it wasn't really either of their faults. Or was it? Was she supposed to do something..? If anyone's fault, it was probably her's. "I'm sorry," She mumbled again. It was true though. She pretty much saw everyone more than her own boyfriend. And that sucked. "I just.. I'm busy or you're busy and.." SHE was the one with all the commitments and responsibilities and.. the tournament. Oh for merlin's sake..
It was pretty pathetic. And when they DID see each other, she always had a billion things going through her mind from homework that was due to her insecurities to graduation.. and then it usually ended up in an argument. She sighed. Someone up there really didn't like her. "But Raiden's not you.." She whispered. What else could she say? URGH. She really failed in these situations.
Cameron grinned half-heartedly. "If I'm out of his league.. then where do you score? Off the chart, then?" Off the chart? She thought so. Oh, that just depressed her even more. Why was she investing so much into this relationship? Looking at it objectively, it looked like they were avoiding each other and Oliver was out of her league. He might love her .. but he was too young to know what he'd want in a few years. Heck, she had no idea what she wanted now, let alone in a few years time.
She buried her face in his chest. She would miss this. His rationality to her paranoia. What would she do if he left her? The sinking feeling make her feel sick. Jump to conclusions? Yeah. That's what all this wasn't it? Jumping to conclusions but she couldn't help the voice in her head that told her this was Cameron being realistic. She held him a little tigher.
This was HER Oliver. And oh man.. she'd just fall apart if he become someone else's Oliver. HER Oliver. And she didn't care if she was a stubborn, petulant child. "My Oliver." But would she let go? When it came to end, she would. Because it was good for him. To be with someone pretty. Someone tall. Someone sane. Yeah. She'd do it. It'd hurt, but she would. She was learning to be compassionate and selfless. A little bit. For the moment, he was her's and until it came to that, she'd be as bloody clingy and sappy as she wanted to be.
His laugh. She squished him a bit. What a sappy, mopey, paranoid chikka she'd become. But she loved it. Secretly. Underneath the tough boots act."Is he weird too?" She asked, peeking up at him with a smile.
He did? She smiled a little wider and kissed him lightly. "Well, coming from THE Cammy Caddock, nothing happened. For shizz." And she grinned, "Swear on my.. no.. I'll swear on YOUR broom and yeah. I suppose you were much more mature than I would've been. The chikka would be intensive care by now." And she wasn't even kidding. *smiley*

"Of course!" Rubiey replied, giggling slightly at the memory of Alice crashing into the invisible wall and Rubiey flying to save her. *SUPER!RUBIEY*
"Sounds good to me. I'll try and find them. Maybeee... RoR?" She asked. Not many people knew about that place, so it might be safe..
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

"Oh..that's a great idea!" Alice said, nodding. "If we word our thoughts correctly I am sure it would give us a room that no one else could access. Have you ever been in it before?" Alice asked, knowing that it was on the seventh floor, but not sure exactly where on the seventh floor.

"Trixie showed it to me, on our tour when I first arrived. Its opposite the canvas with the ugle troll things. You run past it 3 times, and BAM its there." She grinned. She hadn't been in there yet, but it would be vaiiiiir amusing.

"Alright it's a plan then. I think Salander is going to Hogsmeade this weekend, so I'll ask him there. Is it silly that I am actually kind of excited about this?" Alice asked, feeling like a little school girl.
