| | Library Reading Lounge As you enter the Hogwarts library, what appears to be a cozy nook in one corner of the main area appears most appealing to the Hogwarts student interested in his or her reading. Upon further inspection, you see that this comfy area is larger than it had seemed on first sight. Spread throughout the room are clusters of armchairs, surrounding magical reading lamps giving off different levels of light, all of which are appropriate for reading. These clusters are perfect for study groups or group projects.
Here and there are a few lone armchairs for the student who enjoys quiet solitary reading, and a number of sofas for any that would rather stretch out and put their feet up. Be sure not to muddy them up though!
A soft glow of light is present throughout the room, with more magical lamps in each possible reading space. Be sure not to make much noise and respect some students' wishes to read in quiet.
One last note, no food or drink in the reading lounge. Happy reading! |

Once again, the two friends were at the library, but this time for different reasons.
Liz sat down on the couch that she had before with an even bigger haul of books. She picked one up and began to flip through it. "I found someone who can make people sick, which is kind of like you, right? Well, it's the complete opposite, but this guy, Harrison H. Hurt, does stuff involving illness, like you. I'm going to go get another book on him."
Liz found another book, The Painful Biography of Harrison H. Hurt, and poured over it.

In May of 1736, Mr. Hurt accidentally gave himself a terminal illness, which was healed by Callie Dryl, the world renowned healer...
"This woman Callie Dryl was a healer! Maybe she's like you!" Liz looked at Pam with eyes filled with much excitement. She skimmed through a few more pages and didn't find anything more, so she sprung up and found a book on Callie Dryl. She turned to Pam to find her falling asleep. "You look tired. Let's head back to the dormitory." Liz put all the books back, memorizing each title so she could find them again, and lead Pam back to the dormitory.

At least that's what I like to believe." Teagan rounded up his little speech by snapping his book shut. He was in no way disheartened by her rudeness and general lack of people skills, but he was also quite a smart lad and knew when he was fighting a lost cause. And while he didn't believe in giving up, he was clearly wasting his positive vibes on someone who cared nothing about him or his efforts. "Well, I'm sorry for not picking it up sooner. I won't bother you any more then," he said with a smile, getting up. He placed his book back into his pocket and looked to his left and his right, deciding on the spot which way to leave. "I hope you enjoy Hogwarts, I really do." And he meant it. He saw her point? Did he really? Margaret just had to doubt it, as he always seemed to be too keen on loving the whole world and so on, something she absolutely could not understand and was certain she never would. Mmm... Was he attempting to keep her snapping to a minimum? Yes, that was probably it, unless he had some sort of plan. What kind of plan it was, though, she did not know, for she had no idea of how aliens think. "No, my perspective and my point of view are the same," She shrugged with no emotion whatsoever, as she glanced at the book.
Indeed, all she did was glance at the yellowy pages, as she was soon raising her head curiously and, perhaps, with surprise. Strange, he wasn't as easy to figure as she had believed him to be. After all, he had given her no suggestion to smile this once. Could he need some kind of back-up in order to have the guts to do this? Maybe, maybe. Nevertheless, his reaction was curious. Very curious to say the least. "Thank you," She didn't even realize she had said those words, nor that her tone had actually been rather kind, as her eyes kept trying to figure Teagan out.

Cassandra leaned back on the chair as she massaged her tired eyes. Alright, that's enough reading for now. She had already finished two really thick books and she didn't know if her eyes could take anymore. So she gathered her books in her arms, stood up from the comfy chair and walked out of the library.

But he was sure she'd have time to get it; after all, she was young. He had already started walking away when he heard her say two words he really wasn't expecting. Still with his back to her, they made a surreptitious smile play upon his lips. There was hope for her yet. "You're welcome. Enjoy the book," he turned to look at her, lingering for a moment in case she wanted to say anything else. It helped that there were at least four girls with interlinked hands walking his way. He couldn't have left even if he wanted to, unless he ran in the other direction. But he had better sense than that.

Jason came over to the reading lounge just from the bookshelves and sat into a chair. He began to read his recently selected book 'Dealing with Boggarts'.

If the Beauxbatons were staying with the Slytherins, that kind of made sense. "I'm good at some magic," he told her, "Charms and things." He wasn't the best at dueling, or the abstract things like Arithmacy and Divination. But he highly doubted those subjects would be in the tournament. "I'm in my seventh year. I turn eighteen at the end of this month." he answered. "And I've already entered. It's just a matter of getting chosen, now." Hmm... Right. "Where is Durmstrang from?" Eirian asked. She didn't know this type of stuff! She had always been stuck in Brazil - well, not stuck, but... - and news of Europe never really traveled there. Sure, she could run her mouth for ages about all that encompassed the Americas, but not much else. "Charms and things," she repeated, nodding. She didn't like charms. She'd find another way to do things with magic! Who said there needed to be a spell for everything? And what was up with Transfiguration? Why would she need to turn a turkey into a teapot? Ever? "Wow," she murmured, eyed widening. "You are... old." Yes. Ancient.

The moment he turned his back to her, she bent down her head to the book. In fact, her attention focus shifted so rapidly that she barely heard him speak to her and, for a while, she didn't realize that she was being watched. She did, however, notice it quicker than most people did, perhaps scarily quick. And, at once, she lifted her head in Teagan's direction, raised a brow and stared at him. "Yes?" She asked. What did he want now, anyway?
Her decision to raise her head, though, had given her a benefit she had not expected, for, as she did so, she saw, through the corner of her eyes, that more students had entered the library. That was no good. After all, they may be quiet for now, but teenagers were teenagers and sooner or later they would speak too loudly and she did not know if the librarian was professional enough to shut them up and kick them out of the library. Oh dear, she'd have to leave it there, wouldn't she? Glancing around, she furrowed her brows and sighed. Yep, she would. As such, she got up elegantly in order to leave, her mind half forgotten of Teagan.

Huh so this was the library, quite impressive; there was no way that Hailey St. James would say no to a large library since she absolutely loved reading. She smoothed out her Slytherin robes before walking over to the reading lounge, seemed like this was the only time she was going to have any more to do proper reading since it was rather loud at times in the dorm; why did she have to deal with ridiculous girls all the time? It was like British girls didn't know how to properly be quiet.
She took a seat in one of the chairs and took her Potions book out then opened it to where she last read and continued reading.

Preston wasn't sure where he was most times when he was in the castle, but he was positive of where he was now. The library was huge, and it too was another magnificent place that Preston now knew where it was located in the large castle he was still disorientated in.
Taking his time walking through a few aisles of the library, Preston decided he should work on Divination homework while he had the chance and read up on stuff so he'd be prepared next lesson to answer questions and possibly win Hufflepuff some points.
Preston took his bag off and dropped it by a lone chair in the corner and climbed up onto it with his Divination book and crossed his legs. He closed his eyes as he took in how comfy the chair was. He opened his eyes and opened the Divination book to something that sounded familiar and began to read.

After being slightly distracted by a potion that seemed immensely interesting, Hailey noticed there was a young boy sitting near her with his face stuck in a Divination textbook, it seemed like she wasn't the only one who liked to spend time reading quietly. "Divination eh? I don't get that class honestly, so not straightforward like Muggle Studies and Potions." she commented, setting her book down on her lap for the moment.
Well it was true, just the sight of anything that involved Divination made Hailey confused and there was no way she was going to let some stupid subject confuse her immensely.

He confessed to the older girl before turning the page of the book. He let out a short sigh as he rubbed his left shoulder, still in the sling from the previous day. Rhea was so bored it hurt...like almost physically hurt. She couldn't believe how bored she was and all her friends were busy doing home work, which she had finished ages ago. She sighed. The common room was over flowing with first years, she loved them but she couldn't deal with them today, not when she was so bored and grumpy. She plopped down unto a chair and rest her head on her arms. Gaaaaaaaaaaaah boooooooooredom.

Having finally found his way to the library, Noel scanned the area as he entered the quiet place, looking at the shelves of books. It was almost like the Ravenclaw common room now that he really looked at it, except without the excess amounts of blue color.
However, he happened to pass an aisle where his eyes landed on a young lady sitting in a rather comfy looking armchair. Well now, this was a place he would've missed if his eyes hadn't caught the dark hair. Moving down the aisle towards the reading area, he quickly grabbed a random book off of the shelf without looking at the title before moving the rest of the way forward. "Would you mind some company, Rhea?" he said as a whisper, moving into view and taking a glance around the area. It was bigger than he thought!

The silence was deafening, that's it she was going deaf with silence. Who knew that he silence could be so loud. She should have gone to the lake, at least there her people watching wouldn't include seeing people sit and scan the pages of a book. She figured she would let her mind stray and wander back to her first week of school. She had made plenty friends and had a lot of fun. She smiled thinking about all the lovely people she met, then her mind went to....familiar voice...she looked up. "Nono!," she whispered back excitedly. And to think he just crossed her mind. She must have summoned hi with her awesome mind powers or something. hehe.
" I would love some company actually. " She smiled broadly at him and tucked a few strands of stray hair behind her ears.
" Congratulations on being a contender for the championship." She pointed to the button on her chest. "You have my support."

Taking that as his queue to sit in a seat next to hers, Noel shifted the book to the actual arm rest, his blue eyes gliding over the words. Clearing his throat softly, he moved the book over the arm rest and let it gently drop to the floor before making himself comfortable once more, and his focus was on Rhea. "Aw, merci. Did you make it?" Letting his hands rest on his knees, he stared at the young lady, his eyes flickering back to the button every few seconds or so. All in all, it was actually making him nervous for the tasks ahead.

Rhea heard the gentle thud of something as it hit the floor and she shifted her eyes to see where the sound came from, but didn't divert her whole attention to it. She didn't want to be rude when she had a guest, a special guest at that. She was so grateful that he was so into reading and stuff right now, because he wandered into the right stop, or well, she chose the right spot to hang out today.
Rhea chuckled and ruffled Noel's hair. It was such lovely hair, plus he was looking so adorable.
" I'm sure you will be Nono. You already are." And she certainly meant it. He was one of the sweetest guys ever, even Brielle agreed. Her attention shifted to the button on her chest as he complimented it. "Thank you, no I didn't actually. I had it made specially for me." She grinned, but then her smile dropped a little.
" Are you alright Noel?" He was looking a bit err peaky, nervous, something. She hoped he wasn't getting sick.

"Are you alright Noel?" He was looking a bit err peaky, nervous, something. She hoped he wasn't getting sick. Chuckling along with her as he felt her ruffle his hair, his hand immediately went up to it once she stopped and tried to flatten it. It was too puffy sometimes, it even made him embarrassed. Right now it wasn't so bad but still...
Nodding at what she said, Noel let his hand slowly move back down to the arm rest as a grin grew. "Oui, je vais bien." he said, swallowing as he realized that he was not at Beauxbatons and this was not someone who was fluent in French. "I mean, I am fine." Gotta be all strong and confident looking in front of everyone right? He was sure though, that Rhea could have heard his rapidly beating heart. "I am, not zo used to ze British food yet. No big deal." It was just a little white lie, but he didn't want her to know he was nervous. What kind of champion was nervous? "So, tell me..." he started, shifting in his seat so her was able to prop his elbow up on the back of the seat so he could lay the side of his head on his hand as he continued. "What, is a mademoiselle like you, in here alone, on a day like zis?"

"What, is a mademoiselle like you, in here alone, on a day like zis?" Rhea smiled at him as he tried to flatten his hair again. She really ought to stop messing up the guy's hair, bad habit. It was still very nice though, nice and foofey.
Rhea's eyebrows raised as Noel burst into his native tongue. She had absolutely no idea what he said but it sounded so beautiful that she felt incline to just nod and smile, regardless of what it might mean. Did the french ever even say mean stuff? Everything they said just sounded so melodious. But he explained and she was glad he did.Because now she would know how to say whatever he said in french. Learning without being in a classroom. It was awesome. "That's very good to know Nono." She giggled, good to now nono sounded funny.
Awww and she was hoping that he was enjoying the British food. Rhea alays enjoyed her food, but then she had been eating it for seven years, one would certainly get accustomed to it, though she was sure, seven years or not the food was good.
" I hope it settles better with you soon so you can start enjoying it. Though we often get drench meals too, so you can always stick to what you know." Rhea chuckled and looked out he window. "Weeeeell, i's not dark outside yet but it pretty much looks like it's going to rain so I opted to stay in."

"Weeeeell, i's not dark outside yet but it pretty much looks like it's going to rain so I opted to stay in." Noel nodded, feeling a bit guilty for lying, though he kept the bright smile on his face. He didn't know why though. It wasn't like he was lying about which school he was from or anything. "I suppoze I should just do zat, zen." Even though there was some slight truth to what he said, he really should just stick with the food he and his body knew so as to not to compromise his position in the tournament. Chuckling along with her, he watched her as she looked somewhere else before he too glanced towards whatever it was.
Oh, the place had windows. Obviously, he hadn't even noticed that when he first came in. His attention must have been too much on the company he was now in. Rhea was right. It did look as though it was about to rain. "I must have not noticed." he smiled before glancing towards the girl out of the corner of his light blue eyes. Really, he hadn't noticed. He was inside all day, and now in Rhea's company, who would notice the weather? "Alright. What are you doing in here alone zen?" Surely she'd have Lauren with her? Or someone else? Of course, she always could have been here for some alone time. Which, he would now be interrupting...

Of course, she always could have been here for some alone time. Which, he would now be interrupting... Rhea nodded. She was a bit disappointed that he wasn't liking the food, but then the poor boy had never been to Hogwarts and they tend to have really heavy food, which was never a problem for them because the castle was so big they basically walked it all off. And heavy didn't automatically mean unhealthy did it? Oh well she was sure he wouldn't starve, thanks to the house elves' ability to cook a variety of dishes. He could always keep his strength up for the torunament which she would be cheering for him loudly at.
Rhea smiled. Of course he wouldn't notice. He must have been too busy admiring all the volumes of books that the library had to offer. She hadn't known him long but he was clearly into reading and studying, from what she gathered from their conversations of course. "Meh, it's always rainy in Britain, especially Scotland and England. I'm surprised we've enjoyed so many days of sunshine at this time of the year." She tucked a few stray strands of dark brown hair behind her ear and smiled at him. She hadn't noticed how brilliantly blue his eyes were. "Is it sunny and warm where you're from?" She tilted her head to the side slightly as she looked at him.
Rhea didn't even know why she was in the library herself, but she was there and managed to end up alone and bored, that was until Noel got there. "I came to visit the books but they wouldn't talk to me, so then I got all lonely." She giggled a bit. Hopefully the boy didn't take her seriously and think she had completely lost it or something.

"I came to visit the books but they wouldn't talk to me, so then I got all lonely." She giggled a bit. Hopefully the boy didn't take her seriously and think she had completely lost it or something. Well then it seemed that the tournament being hosted at the Hogwarts school was during a good year. If it had been at Beauxbatons though, they wouldn’t have had this cold problem. "Oui, it iz warm." He smiled, not giving any further details on the matter. He was proud of his school of course and could talk about it all day, but it was also supposed to be a secret.
For a moment, Noel had thought she was serious when she said something about the books not talking back to her before he heard the giggle. Chuckling, he shook his head before picking up the book he had dropped. "I beg to differ, Rhea. Books can speak many zings to you." Of course, he was joking around some, but on the other hand, he believed there was actual a side of truth to his own words. Opening to a random page, his eyes skimmed the words and as the few seconds went by, what he read only caused a look of disgust to be created on his face. "Some have a more disgusting minds zen ozers of course." Closing it back up with a small huff, he gently tossed it to the couch situated next to them, letting it land with a quiet bounce. The book definitely didn’t make his reading list. "Well, if you were lonely, why stay here?" Then again, if she didn’t stay here he wouldn’t have run into her. "Umm, nevermind actually. Zo, what do you British do on…cold rainy days?" Was it just him that thought it was rather cold in here? “Besides try to talk to books.”
