A great number of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves fill the library, creating rows and aisles of books available for students to read and check out. When returning books to the higher shelves, just hold up the tome and the shelves will take care of the rest; there's a spell on the shelves which summons the returned book to the correct place. Of course, when retrieving a book, they don't 'know' what you're looking for, so those who aren't yet accomplished in the use of the Summoning Charm may use one of the sliding ladders that move around from bookcase to bookcase.
In front of each set of shelves is a small desk. Students can sit at these desks to complete homework or copy down notes and book references. Be aware that other students may need to access books above you… so mind your head.
You can find any book here that's appropriate for all school years, so browse to your heart's content.

Of course Alice would wind up in the library. She loved to read, she could do it all day. Her step-sister made a point of it to insult her everytime her nose was in a book. But she had grown to love her books, she hadn't had many friends while in France, and the characters in her books became her friends. In amazement she stared at all the books, when she had her own place, she would have a library like this.

Ah, the Library. Apart from her Common Room, Viktoriya was sure that she would end up spending the most anount of her time here. Wandering round the shelves, she occasionally stopped to look a in interesting looking book. Ahh... she stopped in front of an extremely old-looking book, something about Runes and Heiroglyphs. Taking it off the shelf gently, she settled down in an comfy looking armchair in the corner. Cracking open the the book with a smile, she made herself comfy and began to read.

Fee wasnt tired enough to sleep and she thought a good book could help her. She loved reading. Spending your time with a good book was the best. Right after spending time with your friends, of course.

Emmaleigh wandered into the Library. She had made a promise to Enya to looks up Albus Dumbledore, and anything he said about love being a cure. *sigh* She wandered around, looking for a place to start. She found that a section of the library was dedicated to the pervious headmasters, faculty and staff of Hogwarts. Michael had explained to her earlier that this Dumbledore guy had been a headmaster. This seemed to be the best place to start, so she grabbed The Great Discoveries of Albus Dumbledore, and headed over to a table to begin her research.
