Build: Height- Melanie was fairly short, but she
has grown a few inches over the past few years. She now stands at 5 feet 6 inches.
Shape- She’s not extremely thin, but a bit on the slender side. When she first came to Hogwarts she hadn’t really been that sporty beforehand, and she wasn’t too muscular either, but she’s toned up a bit, due (mostly) to Quidditch practices.
Hair: Color- Dark Brown
Texture- A little wavy
Style: She mostly wears casual stuff, the standard black robes at school, and jeans and a tee shirt when she can. She likes bright colors so most of her clothes are colorful. It's rarely to never that Melanie is caught in a skirt or a dress- they're inconvenient. Also, Melanie is
always wearing a silver locket she inherited from her mother.
Personality
Melanie's a very energetic person, always moving. She's immensely curious, and always desiring to try and learn something new, especially if it involves magic of some form. It still fascinates her.
She's usually very outspoken, but sometimes afraid to truly voice her thoughts. Though she does value truth greatly, the occasional white lie will slip though her teeth, if so usually to assist a friend somehow (spare their feelings, or to try and get them out of trouble, for instance). She's really attached to her friends, almost to the point of being clingy. The bright side of this is she's extremely loyal to her companions. Melanie will go to drastic lengths to help someone she considers her friend and is quite a bit protective (One of the only reasons her temper will rise is if someone was hurting a friend or family member. And then… well, she has quite a temper.) Because she's trustworthy she expects her friends to be the same way and can be overly trusting to the point of being a bit gullible. Her feelings get hurt easily sometimes and she doesn't forget things and heal as quickly as she'd like to. If something REALLY bad happens, she’s likely to cry as long as she needs... And then in most situations she'll do her best to pretend nothing ever happened, and bury her feelings and memories away. In her opinion you can control your emotions, and usually when Melanie's feeling angry, sad, jealous, etc., etc. she does her best to bottle it away. Which is why, when she does express her bottled up emotions, it's usually in an extreme way. The majority of the time, Melanie thinks things through, perhaps too much, before making a decision, but there are situations, usually when she does get over emotional, when Melanie can be quite rash.
Along with intense loyalty, another Hufflepuff quality she possesses is being a "hard-worker". She's not incredibly intelligent, but does her best in school. Once she'd determined and sets a goal she does the best to her ability to accomplish the goal she's set. After her head is stuck on something she's really stubborn and won’t give up. Melanie would argue about the color of the sky if she had her mind set on it. She's very competitive.
Melanie's still young and really immature at times. Her imagination runs wild, and she easily blows things out of proportion. Some conversations she has are... just awkward, if they lead to the subject of boys or drama. She's not much of a gossiper as she's not too huge on drama AT ALL. However, one of her more obvious flaws is that she over thinks small situations, to the point where to her; something can seem a bigger problem than it really is.
All in all she's good at heart and tries her hardest to make the right decisions. She's generally quite friendly, fun loving, and always looking for a new friend in someone.
Family/History
Melanie was born in a small town in England, where her parents met, but because of certain circumstances they moved to New York City, where her dad was born. For a while she struggled with getting used to the new place and the new people, but eventually Melanie got the hang of it. When they were old enough her and her brother were enrolled in school in New York. Melanie made some friends, and everything seemed to get better for her. Then, in an accident, her mother died. Melanie was upset over that for quite a while. Eventually, emotionally, she went back to normal, though she still gets teary at the mention of it (the precise reason why she
doesn't mention it). It wasn't long after her moms death that she showed her first signs of magic. A few years later she got her letter to Hogwarts.
She was absolutely thrilled when she got her letter of acceptance. Melanie got sorted into Hufflepuff House and she's a sixth year now.

Positions at Hogwarts? She was a reserve on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team from her 1st year to her 3rd year, and in her 4th and 5th years she played Chaser.

Pet(s): Momo- A rather chubby, grumpy cat, with fluffy black hair and white feet. He's bad tempered and doesn't much like other animals or...loud people. His favorite pastime is sleeping and his second favorite is eating. On the rare occasion he'll get the energy to chew on a few things, such as Melanie's Dragon Hide Gloves. She's had him for quite a few years and she's seen him in action. However, as far as Melanie is concerned he can do no wrong.
Bugle- A small elf owl that makes a lot of noise... Hence, the name. Melanie got him in the summer of her third year at the owl emporium in Diagon Alley. She finds him kinda annoying but is grateful for him anyway, because it makes it easy for her to keep in contact with her dad.

-Dancing...Gymnastics... Anything that requires a lot of of gracefulness
cause SHE'S not very graceful. On the off day she'll give it a try, but Melanie does her best to avoid possible injuries.
