Entering the classroom, Jacob immediatly turned his attention to the giant floating Map.... Jacob's Not Crazy! He's not... The doctor said it would go away. Horrible... Nightmare Visions! and those monkeys those Horribly, Horrid Monkeys. But Now a Giant Floating Map? He's Not Crazy!!!!!
Calm, Breath... it might go away! Ignore it. "Hello Professor" He said and quickly diverted his eyes from the nightmare-ish map....it was gonna eat him! Jacob sat down quietly, see he was quiet... nope no giant floating map around here! | And there was the first student right there. A Ravenclaw no less. Sylvie should have guessed an eagle would be the first one to arrive. Giving the eagle a nod, she noticed his eyes and glanced back at the map behind her. Was it crooked again? She had really thought it looked straight. Quote:

Alex walked into the classroom, last History of Magic classes had been completely insane, with Lainey always surprising them. Now they had yet another new teacher for yet another subject. Alexandrie wondered eyeing the floating map in front of the classroom as she sat down. "Hello Professor." Alex greeted trying to recall the new History of Magic Professor's name. | Turning her attention away from the map, she nodded kindly to the next student. Again more eyeing of her map. Really it was straight and in her option it was a nice map. Yet, strange looks at the map. Quote:

Cooool so...... History of Magic. Nap time, right? Fletcher strolled into the classroom and glanced at the professor, just now remembering that she wasn't Lainey after all.
FRESH MEAT fresh meat! New professor!
Grinning crookedly, the boy picked out a seat in a cluster of desks near the front and plopped down, stretching out his long legs and getting comfortable. Hmm. Wonder what her teaching style's like. | Seeing another student arrive, she nodded and smiled. That was a good sign, grinning was good. Frowns were bad and there yet to be a frown. Fingers crossed. Lukas marched into class eagerly. History. This was familiar. This was good. History of Magic. This he could be good at. He looked around the class with interest. And there was the teacher. He looked down at his shoes. "Good day, Professor," he said politely with a brief upward glance and quick smiled. Then his cheeks went lightly pink and he went back to examining his shoes.
He chose a seat at one of the groups of tables closer to the left-hand side of the room. He planted himself in a seat. He smiled around at the other couple of students in the room too. History. He knew history. No need to worry. He'd be fine. | Quote:

Jenny walked into the classroom. The huge map in front of the class was distracting for some reason. She almost walked straight into a cluster of tables before saying "Good day, Professor." Jenny immediately sat down on the seat in the cluster closest to the door. She did not want to trip anymore for today. | Quote:

Enya walked in and said. "Good Afternoon Professor Welton!' She took a seat next to Brittany. "Hi Britt." | As more students filed in, Sylvie offered them polite smiles and nods. It really did look as things were running smoothly. "Good day, students." she replied as even more students continued to found their way in. Looking good so far. Quote:

Hmm, Evelyn didn't know what to expect from this class. Surely, she didn't see Lainey at the feast, so that meant they had a new teacher. But, the Slytherin just HAD to be sure.
Peaking around the corner to the classroom, Evelyn stared around at the normalcy, and then her black eyes landed on the professor. Not, Lainey. This...
This was good. This was normal. Good and normal. Right. "Good day, Profesor." she said sweetly as she finally walked into the room and taking a seat near the back. And now, time for her usual STARE at everyone until the class started. | Noticing another student entering, she took note of the Slytherin looking around and her welcoming tone. She knew that sweet tone, she used to use it herself at that age. Quote:

Alice made her way to the History of Magic classroom. She was actually somewhat curious for this class, she wanted to know as much about history that she could. Well, in reality she wanted to know everything, but she had to start somewhere and what was better than starting with history.
As she entered the classroom, Alice spotted the professor at the front of the room. She was smiling, which was quite new to Alice. Her professors in Germany didn't really smile. It was a good change. Alice walked to the front of the room and introduced herself, "Hello Professor Welton, I'm Alice Black." she extended her hand towards the professor for a proper introduction, like her grandparents had taught her, and grinned. | Turning her atttention back to the door, she blinked as she noticed a student right in front of her. "Why, hello Miss Black," she replied as she looked at the extended hand and took it in a short shake, before withdrawing her own hand. "You can take a seat anyway. Class will be starting shortly." Humming the main part from a familiar song a little too loudly as she ambled her way into the History of Magic classroom, Ivory had no idea that even as she hummed her feet were toeing her into the room in time to the music. Walking on excited feet on crescendos and tiptoeing on the soft little parts.
Nevertheless she made it all the way to a good seat in the middle of a cluster near the front before she stopped humming with a final lingering note. Not that she knew this of course, she was distracted by thoughts of the new history of magic teacher and the marker on the table and had no idea the song she was singing in her head had actually escaped into noise.
But that was neither here nor there because as she looked up to meet the professor's eyes, she gave a sheepish grin and lifted her hand in a friendly wave of her marker,"Heeeelloooo, Professor." Looking at her new teacher she couldn't help wondering ...did the Professor recognize the song??? Was it her imagination or was she bouncing in time too??? But then she had other things to think about...like what today had in store."That's quite a map." she added as her curiosity peaked at the landscape on display. | Looking back out at the students, Sylvie smiled as she noticed a Ravenclaw waving about her marker and humming. Those eagles were always a mystery to her and they all seemed to be eyeing her map. Seriously, was it crooked or something? Quote:

Emmaleigh walked into the History of Magic classroom. She had already met the professor, and she was really nice. "Good Morning, Professor." She said smiling.
Em then wandered over to Where Brittany and Enya were sitting, and sat down. "HEy guys." | "And good day to you as well, Miss Swynford," Sylvie smiled as she noticed the young Hufflepuff with a group of what looked to be friends. Hopefully they weren't the ones that were thinking such ill things about the girl. Quote:

Salander saunters into his next class Why cant all classrooms be located on the first floor? he mused as he eyes the table clusters curiously with their colored marker and parchment set infront of a giant map. A smirk formed on his lips as the whole set up somehow reminded him of pre-school. Or a PTA meeting.
As he approaches a seat, he casually glances off to the side.... and does a double take when he set his eyes on the Professor. So distracted was he that he slams his knee into the back of the chair and nearly topples over. Owww... he mumbles as he crumples into the seat nursing his knee quietly. Quickly he tries to put on the best smile he can muster despite the pain "Goodmorning Professor." | Looking toward the source of the sound, Sylvie offered a smile and nodded. "Good morning, that sounded a bit painful. Are you okay?" she asked. Bruises were never a fun thing. Quote:

Perhaps she'd made HoM bearable. Better see hm? "Hellllllllllllllllllo Professor," Cameron greeted brightly and sat at a random seat in the middleish. What would they be doing today? "You excited?" She grinned. Being a teacher would be a stressful job. | Hearing another hello, Sylvie looked to the Gryffindor Prefect and smiled. "Hello, Miss Caddock," she replied and nodded. "Of course, first classes are always exciting." she grinned as she moved her way to her desk and picked up a piece of parchment. Quote:

She gave a little wave and started for a desk, stretching as she did so. Soooooo not her favorite class. Especially since she seemed to have trouble after a certain point in time. Like her memory was different than the text book... which was weird because that's the only place she could have read any of it. Ah well. New year, new start? | Oh, she had sleepy students in her class today. Yawning was ever so contagious! Smiling, she waved back before picking up a coloured marker. Quote:

Coloured markers were funnn. | "Hello. I am quite well today. Thank you for asking," Sylvie smiled as she scanned the room. No more odd looks at her map. Very good sign. Quote:

Autumn walked into the History of Magic classroom. She was quite looking forward to this class. It sounded like fun. Sure, there was a new professor, but she was sure that the class would be great. "Hello, Professor," she said. She smiled and made her way to an empty seat. | Seeing another student take a seat, Sylvie offered a nod and walked back in front of the map. With the parchment in one hand and the marker in the other, she took a quick glance at the time and cleared her throat slightly. "Class will be starting soon, but I'll allow some for the late comings to join us before we get started." she announced. "But as we wait, you will notice the parchment and the marker on your desk. I'm sure this sounds rather elementary and all, but I would like for you to make nameplates for yourselves. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you all personally and I would rather address you by your own name, unless you do like to be referred to as 'hey kid in the back' or something. Which, I would rather not have to revert too." That would be rude and rudeness really had no room in her class. "I'm also sure that many of you don't know every single person in this class and knowing names would be helpful, Now fold the parchment in any fashion you want and use the marker provided. Your name and house is all I need, but feel free to add your year if you like and perhaps where you are from." Yes, locations would be a good thing. "Once you are done, just wait patiently and I will start the class shortly," she added before turned back to her desk. Setting the parchment and marker down, she turned back. "Oh, and don't mind if your marker comes out as just black. The colouring will come later." |
